Review 2 Kelly’s Cafe - Winnipeg

Sean Evison
The food is great; clubhouse sandwiches are always fully packed, and the onion rings are just... chefs kiss 🤌 Haven't dined in recently as I usually do takeout on work days, but the takeout is just as good as dine-in. The only downside to takeout is you miss out on Kelly stopping by the table to chat. She is an absolute sweetheart to talk to, and even if you're picking up, always has time to ask how you're doing and put a smile on your face. Good old fashioned homestyle diner through and through.

Great diner type food, had a very nice clubhouse sandwich, and my wife had an excellent omelette. The owner was a delight, extremely friendly and fun. A very enjoyable experience, we will definitely be back for more.

The food is always delicious. The owner is very kind and funny, it's never a dull moment when you go there. The customer service is great. I order food here almost every week because its that good

Absolutely amazing! The owner has an amazing personality and is so friendly. The portions are big and very filling I've been looking for a cute diner style breakfast for the longest time and decided to give this place a try on a whim. My partner and I absolutely loved it! We even came back a second time with friends! Definitely one of the better breakfast places I've been to in Winnipeg. Very affordable too!

What a cool place! My new favorite cafe in Winnipeg. The food is really great, but the best part is the atmosphere. Kelly treats her customers like family, so it’s super fun to eat there, chat with her ( she’s hilarious!) and watch her treat her loyal customers so well. It is really cozy, and very convenient location in Ft Gary place mall right behind Ft Gary hotel. Give it a try, won’t be your last I bet.

Best hash browns I’ve ever had! Love the experience and the service, can’t forget her laugh even when I got home 🤣 Sweet little gem in the city that everyone should check it out.

Amazing little cafe to check out at the Fort Garry mall! The owner is incredibly friendly, and the food is great. If that isn’t enough, the atmosphere is very homey and welcoming. A great place to grab breakfast with a friend, or on your own. You’ll feel like you’ve been a customer for your whole life, after the first time.

Kelly is super friendly and overall just a lovely person. She knows her customers and treats everyone like a friend. It felt really homey and it was my first time eating here. The food was also delicious and I really enjoyed her hash browns. 10/10 would recommend!!

Such a warm and inviting place with delicious fresh food! The owner Kelly is fun and goes out of her way to make everyone welcome! My favorite little breakfast/lunch spot!

Known Kelly and Crystal for years. Great food-super atmosphere-very friendly ladies. My daughter works downtown-her favorite restaurant/cafe to visit. I totally agree with her.

Nice breakfast place tucked in at the Fort Garry Place. Ordered the homestyle full breakfast and was really good and big serving. Kelly- the owner is very friendly and will make you feel very homey. Parking can be a bit of a challenge but won't hesitate coming back.

Great fun and great food in 2 Kelly's! Kelly serves everyone herself, talks to you like you're old friends, laughs all the time and makes great breakfast and lunch -she has the best bacon! And who doesn't love bacon. It almost feels like when you were a little kind and went home for lunch from school!

I have been coming to 2Kelly's for lunch for more than 7 years now. The restaurant is cozy, and Kelly always greats you with a smile. She chats with her customers while clearing tables, taking orders and makes everyone feel welcome and looked after. The food is fresh, the service fast and friendly.
The Club Wrap is my to-go-to menu item on a busy day. On some cold winter days, you can order a home-cooked chilly special. It is hardy and delicious.
If you work close by, or happen to be in the area, stop by for breakfast or lunch. You wont be disappointed.

Love this place. They will customize your order however you like it and even go as far as to make you something not on the menu. Best breakfasts and also like their crispy chicken salad.

Two Kelly's is a great restaurant. You go for the food and the great conversation. Kelly makes you feel right at home from your first visit. Everyone is a friendly friend. I highly recommend. The food is made fresh for each order and she uses the freshest ingredients. Make it your next restaurant pick and you'll never be sorry.

A favourite downtown hideaway. Fast friendly service with consistently good food, fresh ingredients, easy substitutions. Generous lunch portions, reasonably priced. Try Kelly's apple pie with ice cream, if you have room for dessert! To Kelly's Café is a friendly, comfortable place devoted to good food. Try it and you'll likely become a regular.

Im a HUGE fan of the breakfast special... come WITH coffee!!! Kelly will make substitutions, additions, deletions... whatever to make you happy and full! And a nice suprise... they are licenced. Have a few beers on hand and wine. Next time your downtown mon to sat and want breakfast for lunch or lunch for breakfast... this is the spot that hits the spot

Great little place. I spent a month working across the street from 2 Kelly's, and will miss my Friday business lunches there. Friendly service, and great, homemade food!

Great Clubhouse. 2 Kelly's is probably what I miss the most about working downtown. I highly recommend it.

Fun Spot. I first ended up at 2 Kelly's while visiting a friend who lived in the Fort Garry Place apartments. I have to agree that the biggest attraction is Kelly herself. Full of energy and fun. Customers can expect to be canvassed on whatever poll topic has caught her attention that week (not serious stuff, just fun). And as an added bonus she serves up a pretty good breakfast to boot. This place is small and often busy - mostly with regulars. You won't spot it from the street, there is no signage outside. Go through the northwest entrance to Fort Garry Place and it will be on your right just through the entrance.

OH MAN!. What more can i add that hasnt already been said?
Great food! Great atmosphere! GREAT prices! definately the Gem hidden downtown. once you find it you wont ever forget where it is or you will hunt for it again. Highly recommended. i go minimum once a week. just spectacular!

I definitely love coming to 2 Kelly's for lunch. My favorite is the clubhouse which I asked for no ham and extra crispy bacon. The sandwich had fresh ingredients and the bacon was cooked to perfection!
Kelly the owner is an exception woman handling the orders and customers. My coffee was never empty and she had funny stories to tell which put my lunch companion and myself in a great mood. Prices are very reasonable and service was quick. I wan in and out within an hour and had an enjoyable lunch.

Hidden Downtown Lunch Spot - but full of patrons!. This café is a tad hidden as it's located behind the Hotel Fort Garry, and housed in Fort Garry Place. Easiest way to get here is on Garry Street, walk/drive south and it's a left turn right after the Hotel Fort Garry's parkade area, into what looks like a back alley of sorts. Go through door number 81, the restaurant is on your right hand side after the CIBC ATM machine. The café has a big "Restaurant" sign in red pointing towards it as the actual signage isn't as eye catching, or look for Sam's Food Fare, as the café is the right of it. On a side note, what a weird building, lots of City of Winnipeg offices like the ones where you get renovation permits.

I digress..it's definitely a small and cozy café full of regulars who work in this area. This place seats about 30 people with tables for mostly 2 tops and 4 tops. I'd suggest coming here a bit before noon or a little after the lunch rush as this place gets busy. Plus everything is made fresh to order so it takes a little bit of time. This place serves up all day breakfast, soups, sandwiches (melts as well), salads, wraps, burgers, chicken fingers, perogies, pizzas, chicken or veal parmesan, and fish and chips. There's definitely comfort foods on the menu and your typical lunch offerings. On a side note, they use Gunn's breads. The prices are all very reasonable as the most expensive items are $10.95 which are platters (which include soup, salad or fries). Ordering just a sandwich or a wrap is about $7. They also breakfast specials M-F for $7 after tax which includes a coffee too.

My coworker really enjoyed their chicken fingers. The only things I didn't like about my clubhouse sandwich was that there was ham (which was listed in the menu but I didn't see so not their fault) and the use of miracle whip. Bacon was in there but the clubhouse definitely didn't need the ham. I love bacon but shaved ham is not a fave. And the sweetness of the miracle whip is not something I personally like in my sandwiches, as I prefer the classic use of mayo. That being said, it was a good sandwich and the super thick white texas toast was delish. I'd definitely go back for lunch again - good prices, friendly service and comfort foods.

The one server/cashier, who seems to be the owner as well, is very friendly and super fast on her feet as she's taking orders, serving, taking payment etc.

They are open Mon-Thursdays 8:15 am to 5:30 pm. Fridays 8:15 am to 4 pm and Saturday 9 am to 1 pm. Closed Sundays. They are licensed - beer and house wines.

The place to be for downtown brunch!. Wow, everything we had was great quality and delicious. I had a wrap with soup that tasted hearty and homemade, and the breakfasts that the others at my table enjoyed looked great, too. No complaints!

It's a small restaurant, and it was packed when we were there, with people waiting. I wish they had more space, but its charm definitely makes up for it. Try this place!
Intrepid Diner
Good Food Infused with Fun. I had never heard of this place before, but saw the high score on this website and decided to give it a try.

The place is kind of small and it fills up fast. There seems to be a fair number of regular patrons.

The star attraction is the owner. She has an effervescent personality and is very engaging with each and every customer. She works the front of the house while others (at least the day I was there) do the cooking. While she conducts her visits with everyone in the place, she also manages to keep the service moving in a quick and efficient manner. She revealed to us that there is only one Kelly and that the name of the place is to be interpreted as "to Kelly's."

The food is very good. The portions are ample. I ordered a burger and fries. The burger was well seasoned and cooked. The bun was fresh and slightly toasted. You have two choices for fries...home made or frozen, store bought style. Not sure if anyone picks the frozen variety. I went with the home made. Very good and I received a large quantity of them. I had a grilled cinnamon bun for dessert and it did not disappoint either. Soft drinks come by the can, so there are no free refills. Prices, however, are very reasonable.

The decor is fine. There are booths and tables to choose from. The art work is tasteful and really dresses the place up. While it is awkward to find this place, it is well worth the visit.

I wouldn't hesitate to come back here.

Great, great, great!!. AMAZING food, AMAZING service ... all around fantastic. Went here for brunch with a friend. I had an omlette which was fantastic. The serving sizes are generous and the prices are reasonable. The only difficult thing is finding how to get into the restaurant. The entrance is actually in what feels like a back alley and you have to enter through the old mall entrance (between Garry and Fort). Well worth the trouble though!

Honey Dill!. The breakfast at 2 Kelly's is obviously very good, but don't miss out on lunch. Order whatever you want from the menu, but don't miss out on the honey dill sauce. I would basically dip anything it that sweet nectar.

I love literally everything at this restaurant. It's home cooking at it's best, and very reasonably priced.

Love this place!. I have an office nearby so I dine here at least 2x per week if not more. Kelly, the owner, has a friendly personality, attends to the tables in a timely manner and spreads her great vibe thru her infectious laugh. Everyone loves her, her food and the service. I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They are very consistent.

Not bad. It was pretty good.

The first thing you will notice is that it is huge. You get your choice of bread, and it comes thick and fresh. Then you got real chicken, crispy bacon, shaved ham, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and the kicker…Swiss cheese. For some reason I really tasted the Swiss in this one, and loved it.
