the best veggie Bahn mi
This place is so great. Delicious food, meat and veggie options, friendly staff, and homemade donuts!
This place is the best & nicest & yummiest! & Thanh is the cutest! Everybody go!
Banh Mi King is the best of the best. Your beef sandwich is my cup of tea in advance. :)) Hope you could make a mint with your business
friendly and fabulous place to hang out over vietnamese coffee or for lunch or dinner. food is always fresh and delicious! prices are reasonable.
Perfect!!!! I’m strongly recommend everyone to come here
Thank you for having so many vegan options! Everything was amazing! Definitely coming back. 😊
Delicous vegan options! Bahn mi had an amazing seitan so crispy and flavourful. Their take on poutine was creative and delicous. Vegan pho was great. Excellent customer service with a big smile. Very friendly. Will be back again soon :)
Amazing food, great atmosphere and friendly and hard working employees! Love this place 10/10
BMK is a wonderful place to eat and meet. Bright, Comfortable, Professional service and Good Food for Everyone
Best Phô. Best Baoger. Best Noodle Salad Bowl. Best Curry Rice. Best Poutine. Best Banh Mi (& dip subs). Best Milk Tea. Best staff.
Amazing. Beautiful restaurant friendly staff and affordable food you'll go back for!

Great food, excellent service! Highly recommended.. We will surely come back!
Their pho and banh mi are terrific, but if you're looking for something a little bit different, try their chicken salad.
Great service and super cool atmosphere. Food was quick and delicious. Awesome place!
Sooooooooooooooo gooooooood love it good service friendly staff quality affordable prices
Ordered from Banh Mi King for the first time today. I got the pork belly bao and chicken pho. Both were delicious with lots of flavour. Already dreaming of the next time I get to have the pork belly bao. Only suggestion is stop using plastic bags for take out orders. Bad for the environment :)

Such great atmosphere, friendly staff and flavorful food. Such a nice much in between uni classes. I love the way they prepare pork here. Even though I'm not a fan of spice, I still enjoyed every bite.
Delicious fresh food. Generous portions. Affordable. Friendly service. In my opinion, one of the best restaurants in Winnipeg. Why eat a sub when you can get a banh mi. It's almost same in size and price. And way more tasty.
The noodle bowls, salad rolls, and spring rolls here are all very very good. You will not be disappointed.
But the Banh Mi (Vietnamese subs) are what set this place apart! I don't know where they get their bread from, but the "sub buns" are basically some of the best French bread I've ever had anywhere. The chargrilled pork is very good, but for me, the lemongrass steak is absolutely out of this world. The crisp fresh cabbage and tangy/spicy sauce just completed it to perfection.
Take my word and go order a lemongrass steak banh mi.
Really good food and nice atmosphere. I had the raw spring rolls with peanut sauce. They had vegan and gluten free options, which was great! I would go back again.
Super friendly staff, amazing prices, great bang for your buck. SUPER good food. Highly recommend.
Also always reliable when ordered through Skip the Dishes — the same can’t be said for a lot of restaurants!!
Came here with a friend yesterday for lunch. The menu was written on the chalkboard and you ordered at the front where the cashier was. I decided to get the charbroiled pork noodle salad bowl, matcha bubble milk tea and spring rolls.
The noodle salad bowl was huge and was only $9.80. The taste was spot on, however, my only disappointment was how little meat it came with compared to everything else.
The matcha bubble milk tea came in one size as with the others for $4.99. It had a good matcha taste but it was a little too sweet for my liking.
The spring rolls at $6.80 for 7 pieces was delish and a great price! Most Vietnamese restaurants would charge for more per piece.
The ambience was great and it is a great place to chill with friends while enjoying great Vietnamese food, and as it is located across from the University of Winnipeg, it is a convenient place to eat for students who want to grab some good food nearby.
Overall, I enjoyed my time here, as well as the food and I would recommend coming here. I would definitely stop by again to try their other dishes as well as the desserts they have. One of the desserts that caught my eye from their glass display at the counter was the honey toast, but I would have to come on a completely different day when I am just want a dessert as the honey toast looked massive and would be a meal in itself.
The Pho that brings me back to life! I love the deluxe Pho!.It is across U of W and you can have a taste of Vietnam's amazing food in downtown. It is really good. Try Deluxe beef Pho!.
Really nice Vietnamese restaurant in the downtown area! I love their pho, chicken curry with rice, and bahn mi's as well. Also recommend their drinks! I've tried thai milk tea, hongkong milk tea, matcha milk tea, and the thai lemon drink one. The milk tea's are quite sweet but really good nonetheless. I'd recommend thai milk tea/matcha milk tea! Quick service and clean area.
I love the charbroiled pork banh mi, the noodle bowls are also very delicious. I'm sure everything else is too! This place is amazing, fast service, good atmosphere, and the owner is really friendly.
We had meat ball sub, and steamed pork bun. They were both amazing! However, they only provided one small bun for the meat balls, so we had to order a second one which costed 2$. The owner was very nice as well. We enjoyed the experience.
SO GOOD!! My daughter and I went for a belated Mother's Day and we were NOT disappointed! We had the Beef and Lemongrass Banh Mi, the BBQ Chicken Banh Mi, salad rolls, she had a Milk Tea and I had a Lemon Tea...we've both been dreaming about the meal ever since.
The food is very modernized and decent. The service is really friendly. The sandwiches are good for the most part depending on the freshness of the bread. However, sometimes the bread to ingredient ratio isn't equal.
Best food I've had out in a long time. Prices are incredible. Food and service are exceptional. If you haven't tried it yet go now!! Vegan options are also excellent.
Great food! Super helpful and polite employees! Nice atmosphere! The portions are huge and their pho tastes almost like my mothers! Thumbs up!
I went here 2 days ago and the food was awesome! The home cured bacon poutine is a must try! It comes with a pork that will melt in your mouth. Also you should finish your meal with one of their doughnut its delicious.
The food was really good there, but their drink just made me and my friends kinda sick. For not only once but many times, it really makes us sick for awhile.
Had the BBQ chicken sub.. very tasty! We also had salad rolls to start which are a cold salad wrapped in rice paper, wasn't a big fan but my dad liked them! My sub was delish and very big for the price! Love the atmosphere
The baoger's are actually so bomb, they are cheap and quite filling. The staff are aka ways so friendly and everything comes out hot and fresh. I definitely would recommend you to check it out.
Excellent Vietnamese grilled pork Vermicelli! Their pork belly bao is okay. Our friend was raving about his chicken curry rice. Their cold Vietnamese coffee is BOMB! Everything tastes on the sweeter range. Can't go wrong with that, will be back!
Stale bread. Flavors were good for the banh mi charbroiled pork and deluxe beef pho.

Great place. Super friendly staff. I had the pork banh MI. It was almost a foot long and it came up to around 7 dollars. Such a good price for the amount of food you get.
I rather stumbled across Banh Mi King the other day, even though it’s smack dab in the middle of Portage Avenue across from the University of Winnipeg. I found myself wandering down there on my way home a few days ago and decided to stop in. Utensils and condiments. I don’t know who designed it, but the interior reminds me of King + Bannatyne and Chosabi. While a pleasant style with the window bar seating and one large table, the design seems to be getting repeated a fair bit. Ordering is done at the counter in a fast casual style. The only problems I have with that is, although the cutlery is all on the table, you have to remember to pick up your napkins when you place your order.
We had lunch here today for the first time. Inviting atmosphere and nice setup to watch the food get made. And the food was excellent--had the #7 (chicken banh mi) and the pork baoger. My wife loved that fact that they added crispy wonton bits to the baoger... The chicken banh mi was the best I have had in the city--full of hot fresh chicken in a huge bun with lots of crunchy veggies. First one I have had in Winnipeg where the bun didn't overwhelm the meat (which all too often is skimpy and cold). Fries where great (a bit unusual, though, some sort of starchy coating?). When we asked for ketchup we were told that they don't have any, but would we like some sriracha mayo? *WELL YES PLEASE!!! It was all around a great meal. The standard coffee wasn't very good, though; next time (and there will definitely be a next time) will get the cold brewed or Vietnamese options.
Great friendly service, cozy urban atmosphere and absolutely kick-ass food. Matcha smoothie is a must. Definitely will be a regular! Truly the Banh Mi "KING".
This place shows a lot of promise. Clean, airy interior, friendly, attentive staff, and really flavourful food. Had a charbroiled pork Banh Mi and Chicken Pho (can't find the correct character on my phone keyboard). Food was ready in minutes, and was tasty and filling. Will definitely be coming back!
So excited when this place opened! Went on the 2nd day after they opened and I found the place cozy, clean and classy. The interior is simple yet elegant and it gives a nice atmosphere.
Me and my friend ordered Saigon Cold Cut Banh Mi and we were disappointed. The ham tasted and looked like western ham and the bread was so hard and overtoasted, I had to ask mine to be replaced. The pickled veggies inside the banh mi tasted like they could be pickled longer. We also got Hongkong Style Milk Tea and Thai Milk Tea which were both yummy although the Thai Tea could use more of stronger tea taste.
I came back today and tried their Pho Dac Biet (Deluxe Pho) and it was good! Although I found the broth a little bit oily but not too bad.
Overall the serving here is big and service is fast and I would definitely come back to try their other foods and drinks. Location is convenient too!
This is a good place to hang out with friends and enjoy good food.
This place is now my official lunch spot. The owners are super nice and the food is amazing. So much choice! They even have great vegetarian options!
Excellent! Super friendly and great food. Very reasonably priced and leaving absolutely stuffed from a restaurant is a major plus. I hope other U of W students enjoy this great restaurant as well!
Food was great. I absolutely love the fries! Great texture and just perfect seasoning! Not salty not blant. Viet subs are on point. I have tried the Pho but will next time anf update my review.
4 Stars just because parking in this area is very difficult and have to pay. You can park in Balmoral or Portage. Goodluck finding or waiting for an available spot LOL.
The dish in the photo is a chicken salad.
Their salad dressing was too good, was a game changer. Also, were assured that the dressing is gluten free. There was one dressing used for some items which isn't, however I don't remember the name so just cross check with them.
Have gone to this place multiple times as it is just opposite the University of Winnipeg. My favorite go to item on their menu is Charboiled chicken in the rice section. The salad and rice options are gluten free here.
One of my favourite places to dine in! Wonderful customer service to begin with! Clean environment and food is amazing. My 2 favourite ones are the charbroiled chicken rice and the lemon grass sandwich. I definitely recommend this place, you won't regret it!
Food is good but I've had better bahnmi and pho in Winnipeg. It is a great location with lots of seating area that also has fast and friendly service. Price is reasonable as any other Vietnamese restaurants with huge servings. I found the bahnmi bread to be too hard that the bread was breaking as I was eating. Parking is really difficult as it is right on Portage downtown.

Food is spectacular, full of flavor and big size. The place is quite charming, cozy and it has great attention. Great vegetarian options.
Amazingly tasty food here, you must try it!
Ordered from here for the first time through DoorDash & had the charbroiled pork sub and Deluxe Bee Pho. The food was packaged very well and arrived fresh and hot. Very good portion sizes and mouthwatering flavorful food that everyone must try.
Truly some of the yummiest food I’ve ever had. It’s so well priced too. I always get the vegetarian rice and a bubble tea. The vegetarian rice is so incredibly delicious and the “meat” is so real I thought it was chicken and got the wrong dish the first time! The bubble tea is the best I’ve had. Overall love Banh Mi King! Also I love the decor! The place just had the best food and vibes!
