We live very close so have walked there. Have tried numerous things on the menu. Have not had a great place on that corner since the Keg. Kudos to the owners. Food is delicious. Well priced. Great specials. A bit too loud for me at times. Have asked staff to turn music down a bit. And they did so graciously. Us 'old farts' have decided to make it a regular haunt for a few drinks and a bite to eat. Glad that the Olympics are not in Canada - because I would have to rent my own table for every day. Keep up the great work Underdogs.

I really liked this place when it opened, very good food and good service. The food quality remains constant, however, the customer service has gone downhill. Case in point - I had an unfortunate circumstance that happened at underdogs about a month ago, and hadn't been back since (won't post that here at this time). Decided to give them a second chance, and went in for wings today on their wings nite. Ordered several beers and two orders of wings, and found out (when I got the bill) that I was getting charged full price for their wings. Thought it might have been a mistake, but when I looked at the menu, they have adjusted their wing's nite hours to "after 4pm". Although I didn't look at a menu when I ordered the wings, there was no mention of the adjustment of time change for their special (to which I was accustomed). The waitress said that they made that change about a month ago. I mentioned to her that she should probably mention that to customers that are not looking at a menu and ordering wings (on a 'wings nite'), as they may not have been in there in the last month. Regardless, I paid full price (which used to be half), and am left wondering where 'customer service' has gone... not sure if I will be recommending this place anymore! Still good food, still good prices, just need to work on the customer service aspect of the business. This is a must in this city, and this sports pub is needed in this area, it would be a shame to see it disappear due to bad service and policies! I will return to see if things have changed... but three strikes, and you're out! - Update Nov 2017 Service has vastly improved... Been here several times and absolutely no problems! Has been a regular hangout for my group on Thurs afternoons (after work) for their wing nite! Manager comes around regularly and ensures things are running well. Keep up the great work!

Awesome place and a beautiful addition to St. James and Winnipeg. The food was amazing, healthy sized portions and great tasting. Service was perfect, friendly and timely. I recommend everyone try this place. Perfect for sports fans who want to check out the games but there is other entertainment there as well.

Attentive and friendly staff. The menu is limited but sufficient variety. Prices are reasonable. Wednesday is half price for a bottle of wine. Score! We will definitely go back.

Have been there twice, once in the evening and once for lunch. Our server, Micky, was awesome. Really attentive but not lingering. Had one of the flatbread pizzas- delicious! Casual atmosphere, tasty cocktails, good food. It's a home run!

Went during the fried chicken week after looking up the entry. There were definitely others trying this entree and it looked and tasted just as good. Service was prompt and friendly. Will definitely be back to try this again soon.

The Sports Bar is an interesting type of place. On game day it’s a hive of activity. Fans fixated on the screens hanging all over the walls, cheering, booing, or groaning as they follow along with their favourite teams. Other times, when there’s nothing of significance happening in the sports world, they can be almost tomb like. I’ve experienced both ends of the spectrum when visiting Underdogs Sports Bar on Portage Avenue.

My wife and I came to Winnipeg from Austin, Texas to visit some family for the weekend. After asking a few locals about their favourite spots to eat, we were told about "Underdogs", a hip new restaurant/"bar-cade" that was conveniently near where we were staying. The moment we walked in we were greeted with bright eyes and warm smiles, which perfectly suited the general atmosphere of the sports-bar. Though the bar-top was inviting, we decided to eat in the lounge, which was equally welcoming. My wife had the "Lambeau Field", while I decided on trying the "Oh yam, that's a good burger", recommended to me by our server, Sydney. Needless to say, the food was exceptional, and the "deep fried cheesecake" (yes, they went there) was a great finish to tie everything together.

Underdogs was not only a great place to eat, but also an experience which made Winnipeg prove it's mantra of being friendly and exciting.

Amazing atmosphere, menu, draft selection and staff! The games room is also a huge win, basketball and pingpong in a sports bar plus the most TV's I've seen in a while!

Went here this afternoon, good atmosphere and love how the place looks. The caesars were excellent and good price drink menu. We had wings and nachos. The wings were pretty good, hit honey flavor. The nachos were terrible, unless you love chips smothered in shredded cheddar cheese and liquid nacho cheese don't get them. It's a shame because they could be great without all that cheese, with in 10 minutes all the chips were soggy, wouldn't get them again.

The Swizzle Styx had lunch here last week and it was pretty good. They've really fixed this place up. The food was good, the service was OK, the atmosphere was great and the place is very clean & nice. We shared appies and beer and wine and overall it was positive.

Pleasantly surprised overall! Decent service and the food came quickly to our table. And the deep fried pickles are amazing! The sriracha and lime wings were also very tasty.

Saturday night, the place was packed! Dj and dancing in the evening. Shared the nachos and pickle poppers with my gf. Nachos are done with a garlic cheese that tasted good but made the chips soggy. Pickle poppers were great. Going to try there pizza bread next time, looks incredible.

This place has potential. Really enjoyed the Pickle Poppers and the Cinnamon Churros. I ordered the Avocado toast. I would have liked the toast to be a little more toastier. My friend had the Ched burger - really enjoyed the fries that came with.
We came on  a Monday evening, so it was pretty low key and chill. But have heard that it gets super busy and loud. Will be coming back again to try other things on the menu.

I really enjoyed it here actually. First time going and my spouse and I went with two of our friends Wednesday night which is half price wine bottles which was nice!
I ordered the "oh yam" that's a good burger which actually was a pretty darn good burger. Nice not overly cooked angus beef patty with bacon I believe, cheese, a siracha thousand island sauce, lettuce, tomato onion I think as well. I didn't see any yam though on it but still a very tasty burger on a soft brioche bun. I traded up from fries to the Lambeau field of greens (hah love the name!) and it was very good! The salad has mixed greens, goat cheese, dried cranberries which stood out with a nice vinaigrette. There may have been tomato and cucumber but I don't recall for certain.
Spouse had the Roethlisburger burger which he said was tasty and he traded up to a poutine-the classic hoser on the menu!
You're surrounded by tvs which makes this place the ultimate for watching your favourite sport(s).
My friends also enjoyed their choices as well.

Now our server was very friendly and pleasant to deal with. She wasn't overly familiar with the menu mind you which was kind of a downer when we asked for first time visit recommendations. It took a while for us to receive our food from the kitchen too, but it was kind of understandable considering they had only been open a week-week and half?
Wouldn't be such a bad idea to let the servers sample some of the menu and taste some of the drinks so they know what to say when asked the "what do you recommend" question. I'm sure once they work out the kinks as a new restaurant it'll be even better.

Overall though I'm liking this place and we will definitely be back! Next time we're checking out the arcade - I owe my hubby a game of good ol bubble hockey! Go Check this place out - if you like pub like food/stadium food but better lol.

A bit underwhelming. Got seated by the bathroom in a crowded corner, asked to be moved and was told there were reservations elsewhere. Asked again got moved to the larger open area and entire time we were there 20+ empty seats. So unsure where reserved tables were.

Husband had Ched Burger and really liked it. I had the avocado toast -menu description sounded tasty, real experience not so much. Super skimpy on avocado and kinda tasteless . We live in the area and we were really hoping Underdogs would be fantastic.

Recommend they have serving staff try food. We asked for a recommendation and the server said she'd not had a chance to eat any of the food.

Great first impression! Friendly staff, spacious set up, tons of TVs, renovations are spectacular! Would be great to watch a game & grab a drink. Comfy booths & chairs, menu is extensive and has all the regular pub-style options with twists of fusion and creative blends. Really enjoyed our meal - had potato wedges, Reuben sandwich and avocado on toast. All fresh, tasty and good portion. Reasonably priced. Beer options looked good. Wine wasn't as extensive. Game room is a cool touch. We played ping pong and had fun. Definitely will be back & recommend checking it out! Something for everyone.

Great bar with delicious bar food including platters. Their deep fried menu is quite big and there are options for everyone at your table. It is a big restaurant that seats +150 people and in the back of the restaurant they have a game room and a ping pong table. Food is decently priced.

My friend and I went tonight for supper and had a great experience. She tried the Poutine Wich and I had the Spinach Dip and wings. We shared the Mini donuts for dessert and loved them. Our server was friendly, the food was great, and we will definitely be back!!

Was there for lunch. Took 55 minutes from when I sat down for my food to arrive. Never asked for extra time to order. They were out of stock on the 2 beers that I ordered. Guess water will do. Order a burger and tomato soup. Burger was great, tomato soup looked and taste like fries. Everyone was very apologetic. Our server was flying in there. This wait is not the normal experience. But now I have to cross this place off the list of quick lunch restaurants. Damm

Never heard of this place until saw on Instagram story about Fried Chicken Fest and Underdogs’ Honey Boo Boo which is fried chicken on brioche bun with dill and honey sauce. Oh it made perfect car date meal! Delicious! Ordered through their website few hours ahead, site is user friendly and it didn’t take long to pay and choose the pick up time.

Underdogs during Taco Week The parking spots behind the restaurant have been used as patio dining. We did find street parking quite close by. When we entereed there was one group of people ahead of us. However both of us were seated very quickly. The restaurant was bustling and almost full but didn't feel crowded . The staff was super friendly. They kept the place clean and drinks flowing. The food was excellent. We had the greek wings and they were unique, very worth trying. Taco Week's tacos were very tasty. The filling was superb, the dipping sauce was a nice touch. The only flaw was the cheese on the outside was cooked a bit too long and a bit burnt. Overall the experience was great and will definitely will be back.

I eat here almost every week. Ordered almost everything on the menu. Never had a bad meal. From Thai peanut bowls, burgers and fries, all the way too Tacos everything they do is 10/10. Cool games, great atmosphere. I could definitely see them being a successful Canada wide chain one day!

Decent food. Large menu and drink selection. Only one bottle of beer (Sol). The barria tacos were good, they do NOT look like the menu but still were pretty tasty. Large place. Lots of seating. Some games in the back. Patio during the summer.
