No need to compare to the "other donuts places", but without mentioning names, I think Bronuts is slightly-and-a-half above the rest.
Their donuts are more like little cakes in the shape of donuts, and I mean that in the best way. Not only they are packed and heavy with goodness, they are very varied and imaginative. And, if you prefer the taste of real fruit in your stuff, Bronuts is meant for you. The Charlottes (yeah, their donuts all have people's names) are filled with the most delicious and fluffy strawberry-cheesecake filling and their Connie's are a pistachio lover's fantasy.
I just had some this morning to celebrate our Pfizer second dose, so my feelings here are current.

Ordered 8 donuts! Not too sweet and it was perfect with a cup of coffee. I love chewy donut styles, and the sesame was very unique.

Staff was very nice. Clean and hip and around $4 for a donut.
Lemon Poppyseed and Caramel Popcorn ones VERY/too sweet for my taste. The glaze just tastes like standard icing sugar glaze with some flavourings and a bit gritty. Nice to support local and downtown businesses. Worth the trip to Try it once and decide for yourself. They close early so check before heading out.

Have been to this place many times. The doughnut quality has been top notch! Gotta try their new mochi doughnut - it has a chewier texture because of the mochi and such a pleasant treat!

I had high hopes for this donut shop as I had heard the donuts were good.
I went here with a friend this morning and both of us were greatly disappointed. We got 2 donuts that looked and sounded good, but when we went to take a bite out of our donuts with excitement, we were greeted with a stale, chewy donut that definitely wasn't "fresh". We took one bite and threw them out. However, I will say the donuts had lots of potential if only they were fresh.

Strawberry cheesecake donut was amazing!!! Blueberry lemon Fritter wasn’t as crisp and fluffy as I would like but still very tasty. Coffee was delicious. Will definitely frequent every time I’m laid over in town.

The ownership has changed recently. The prices immediately went up while the quality went down. The donuts are getting smaller and look inaccurate. Today they were almost flat, like pancakes! I do understand that the baking can go wrong but in this case the owners should either offer the customers a discount or a free coffee or extra donut. Of course they didn't do any of that, just sold the ugly-looking stuff, like it's perfectly ok! One more - the girl at the counter does not care much about carefully putting a donut into the paper bag. As a result the icing always stays on the bag. So disappointing.

The coffee has gone to hell since the new ownership, prices have increased, and quality has dropped. Great place to go if you want a Mochi-donut, but not where I’m going to get my coffee from anymore.
Cost has gone up a dollar per cup of coffee, the coffee/donut combo is $2 more than previous. No value, not the same quality. I realize inflation has hit hard, but I won’t pay $4.50 for a brewed coffee when considering my options in the exchange.

Found a baby-friendly coffee shop in the Exchange with incredible dessert!!! Betty-sugar-and-spice-and-everything-nice was absolutely amazing and worth every calorie... Add some fantastic coffee, a stroll down beautiful old Winnipeg streets - Bronuts made my day! :)

I REALLY wanted to like these, but I just couldn't. The dough tasted like yeasty bread dough and the sugar in the frosting was gritty, almost like it hadn't been mixed long enough to let it melt fully. For $2,50 per this was a disappointment. :(
The staff were very nice and friendly and they made me a great espresso.

I have now been here twice in 7 months. The first time was a great experience. The donuts were so yummy. Had them again Wednesday this week. Penelope (peanut butter pretzel) The pretzels were stale and not very good to eat. Minimal peanut butter taste. Also had the special of the week. Matcha. all I tasted was the sugar icing and no matcha taste at all. With competition from you know who on Broadway, at this point you are being beaten at your own game.

We had a dozen assorted - peanut butter, sugar glazed, cinnamon sugar and peanut butter. I didn't try them all as I shared them with my office mates, but the consensus was that these were the best donuts any of us had had. Way to go guys!

Okay while I love the donuts, I was extremely disappointed this morning that I showed up at opening 7 am to get 1 doz donuts to take to work and they had none due to all the preorders. While I get that you have preorders, your site does not say you need to preorder to get donuts when you open. If that is the case why are you opening. I was not the only person coming in at that time. Won't be back unless I call ahead to see you have stuff. Got up extra early for nothing. :(

Our family just finished our donuts. The positive: cute place, super friendly, very quick and efficient (loved the display of donuts on the counter for the indecisive).
The ugly: coffee was thin and ever such a small cup; the chewy consistency of the donuts really threw us for a loop... be these defrosted, then microwaved bagels from Giant Tiger?! Come to think of it, we didn't detect even a whiff of fresh baking. Sorry folks, for the premium price, we expect a premium product. Also a little disappointed that there were no samples offered at the opening.

After arriving within the first 3 hours of opening, I left empty handed (twice!) because they had sold out. Surely they knew this would happen, didn't they? I was not offered any incentive to come back both times. Does anyone REALLY want to stop by for coffee and wifi? You can get that anywhere.
Finally after a third attempt at securing some delicious doughnuts I was victorious. I will say that although the Nutella doughnut tasted mostly like chocolate, and not actually Nutella, it was still 5 out of 5 delicious. The peanut butter doughnut had a bit too strong of nutmeg or clove taste to it, 3.8 out of 5. Both the glazed and sugar rolled ones were not bad, but nothing I or a friend couldn't whip up at home for 1/10 of the price.
The service was ok. The person at cash was friendly, but didn't say any more than was minimally required; you'd think that after such a recent opening that the staff would still have plenty of pep in them. The man who handed the doughnuts to me looked quite grumpy and didn't even reply to me when I said "Thank you very much." with a smile. Also, the music was incredibly loud in there. There's no way I'd be able to have a nice chat while sitting down, although maybe that was just the one time I actually got in...
