Review Tony Roma's - Winnipeg

3.5 star for food. 4* for service. Greeted at the door, explained specials, courteous staff. Given 2 kinds of warm bread, one of each kind, with butter,served in 'disposable plastic.' Food: boneless short rib was very tender but had 1 bite that was dry (must of been a end piece). Beans were overdone. Lobster dish ok, not as good as the Pembina location. Cheese bread overdone, dark ends. Plastic straws were given with our water. Hopefully, the Restaurant will switch to biodegradable straws. Why use straws for water. 🤔 Warm napkins to wipe hands.

Excellent food - the ribs and potato skins are my favorite! Great drinks. Several TV's in the bar area. Good service even when it's crowded.

We had a wonderful server and a great evening here. The food was amazing as always. Best ribs ever and the steak was amazing.

Very impressed with the quality of the food, and portions which are generous for the price. Excellent steaks and ribs in the $$ price range comparible to more expensive options. Service was good, and interior is clean with a nice decor.

We went to Tony Roma's for a Christmas dinner with our neighbours. Four adults and 4 children. Our waitress was great with the kids and explained the menu whenever we had questions. She kept our drinks filled and had a good sense of humour even with a busy restaurant. I only have four stars as I was again disappointed by the steak. The waitress helped me decide on how to order to make sure my terminology matched with how the kitchen is set up. The steak was just the right pink, but was quite chewy. I ate a bunch of my wife's ribs and enjoyed all the sides. The rest of my meal was good as always, but for the second time in a row I found their steak lacking. Lesson for me, order ribs and go elsewhere for steak. I still recommend this place. Very clean, great service most food is very tasty.

It's been a couple of years since I have been here.I had the steak burger suggested by the waiter and the dipping sauce. It wasn't as good as the waiter made it out to be. Place was clean and not very busy. Everyone at the table said the same. My daughter loves her Mac and cheese and did not even eat all of hers which shocked me. She said she didn't like it. Overall the food was OK.

The taste of the food was fabulous. We had ribs and lobster. Fall off the bone ribs and succulent lobster. Service was great and drinks were excellent. The only problem was the food was not hot when it arrived at our table. We were on a tight schedule that night so we didn't ask the waiter to heat it up. We've had several meals here in the past and that's the first time this happened so I will definitely go back.

Called an order for takeout including three Santa Fe salads. Got the order home to find each box contained a shell, some lettuce, a very little amount of cheese and two cherry tomatoes; no bacon or chicken as the menu indicates is ingredient of this salad (see menu). Called the store and were told well you didn’t ask for chicken. ???? Drive food back and asked for proper salads and a reasonable 50% refund which was denied “WE DONT REFUND”. Salads were re-made and we were given three individual cheesecakes when we requested a partial refund for driving the 40 minute round trip for them to fix their mistake. It was a reasonable request but mgr would not even discuss. That is very poor customer service and not that they care, but because of this I won’t return.

The service that we had was amazing !!!!!�� The starters were very hot and yummy . The dinner rolls were almost melting in our mouths . And wow the main course was ro die for ��� the ribs were just falling off of the bone . Loved it . We will be back . Our waitresses name was Izzy

Started off with a half onion loaf that had a hair... they removed it from my bill and gave me a free one for next time... then I had the lobster and shrimp pasta and I was picking lobster shell out of mouth... sorry Tony Roma's you may taste damn good but with this experience you've been chopped!

Awesome service and friendly, quality of food second to none, generous portions. Oh and the bountiful beef ribs....... Unbelievable Mmmmmm.

Had dinner there this evening it was freaking awesome appetizer had the steak flatbread out-of-this-world impeccable service.

Food was excellent! I had the lobster and back ribs, while hubby had the steak medallions and ribs. They were amazing. Steak was done to perfection!

Eat at European times & no long waits .. avoid 5-7 pm .. seated in minutes .. my boys had the Bacon Swiss Burgers & I had the 3 Fillet Madalions.. tasted great .. service was good .. a safe bet for a family meal in Winnipeg..

The wings are great and cheap if you go later at night $7.08 a lb

Food is just alright. Menu has changed a lot in the past five years. Previous enjoyed the Thai Noodle Salad, it was absolutely phenomenal. Returned for a visit last night and had a steak, unfortunately the best thing on my plate was the broccoli. Price doesn't matter much to me when the food you're getting has flavour but I can't see myself returning anytime soon.

My boyfriend and I like the food at Tony Roma's but this is the second time we've ordered from this location. I've called both times and each time they say they didn't get our order right (just adding a soup both times) but we could come and pick up a soup and would be charged. You'd think at a restaurant that you are spend $80-100 each time they would at least get your order right.

We love going to Tony Roma's but their menu haven't changed at all probably for 10 years or more. We've tried almost all their menu and it's always been good. Having said that, we got tired and stop visiting this place. But lately we've checked this place once again and 2-3 new items were added to their starters, other than that it's all the same. Cactus cuts as new item was not as good as we thought it would be. We'll be back but not sooner.

Went there for my aunts birthday, our table had at least 10-15 people & our waiter and, I believe it was the manager, were very attentive to us all<br/><br/>I had the Teriyaki chicken grill($22) with a side of mashed potatoes,gravy & seasoned broccoli, I kind of wished I got more than two scoops of mashed potatoes but oh well, the chicken was good but was a little dry & the sauce, to me, was very sweet<br/><br/>I would recommend the Cajun shrimp & lobster pasta,my sister ordered that & I tasted hers, it was very good! It's spicy though so watch out for those who can't handle spice,the portion was large for the price too($26)<br/><br/>Only real complaints I have is how their alcoholic drink menu(stays on the table) has no prices from what I saw & the desserts are only in the main menu and not in a separate booklet, maybe take away some of the alcoholic beverages and/or add on the desserts to it? but other than that,everything was great & I will definitely recommend and come back.

I wanted a steak, and it was a tasty one! We had an occasion to celebrate, which just happened to fall on the Friday of Valentines weekend. I knew that I was in the mood for steak and my boyfriend is obsessed with the onion loaf, so we decided to head to Tony Roma's. <br/><br/>We arrived around 6:15pm and were told it would be a 15 minute wait for two. We only had to wait about 5 minutes until we got our booth. We both ordered drinks right away. My Cesar was okay, but I would have preferred different garnish options (like a pickle). The appetizers were ordered; the onion loaf was delicious as usual, and the kicken shrimp was the stuff my dreams are made of. <br/><br/>They were offering a special valentines menu, which we each ordered from. I got the lobster tail and 7oz top sirloin. For one of my side options I ordered the Mac and cheese. The waitress must have thought I said "mashed potatoes" though because that's what I got instead. I was too full to eat my sides anyway, but the mashed came without gravy, so I wouldn't have enjoyed it much in any case.<br/><br/>All in all it was a delicious evening that we enjoyed very much.

I always enjoy dining here, the restaurant is clean with a great atmosphere and the patio is fabulous on nice summer days.  I've always had decent service here as well.  The onion loaf is to die for, the ribs are consistently delicious and even their burgers are very good.  One of my dining partners had the fish and chips and liked it.  Nice wine list as well, so I will definitely be back!

Love the ribs here.  So far I've never had a bad meal at Tony Roma's yet *knock on wood*.  Usually always get the original baby back rips with original bbq sauce.  Service is usually always good here as well.

This is my grandfathers favourite place to eat, and one of my favourites too! We come here maybe once or twice a year and we've never really been too disappointed. The original ribs are wonderful and perfectly cooked and the season broccoli is my favourite side dish. The coleslaw is a little bland. The most recent time we came we were starving and waiting for our bread. The servers told us they were making a fresh batch but fifteen minutes later they came out cold. The servers weren't as welcoming as before but the food is still great.

AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!. I have to say 3 days after my visit to Tony Roma's, it is still bugging me that I spent so much money on such terrible food. 8 out of 9 of us hated our meals and 1 was neither happy nor unhappy about her meal. Keep in mind she was only 10 years old.<br/>Over the years we would often pick Tony Romas to go to when someone in our group had a birthday or celebration. But then we started to notice most of the group complaining about the food quality and about the cost increase on their menu. Tony Romas soon started being last on our list of places to go for dinner as a group.<br/>Last night some of us decided to give it another shot since we enjoyed it so much in the past. All I have to say is this place is awful and I guarantee you they will never see us or our money again. This is also the first time in my life I did not leave a tip for the waitress. I also found out later the rest of our party didn't either. The food was just terrible and the service was nonexistent. <br/>Once we got seated by the front door hostess our orders were taken, food was brought to us by other staff, not even our waitress and then I think he was a manager came and picked up some extra plates to make room as we ate our meal. The waitress did stop for a second after we were almost done eating and asked if everything was ok. I said to her that the hamburger buns were falling apart and it was difficult to eat. She had the oddest response to my remark, she chuckled and said,”Great” and walked away. She didn’t even hear what I was saying and dismissed my problem. Right at the end, the waitress dropped off the receipts and waited for payment. It just didn’t seem worth it to try to talk to anyone and complain because we could see our whole group was thinking the same this, we will never eat here again!<br/>The food was so bad I can’t believe they serve such trash at that price; a $16.00 burger itself was soo dry, burnt and embarrassing to eat because the bun was so dry it fell apart as you were taking a bite. Someone asked for the burger to be done medium and we were told they all come well done. The onion loaf was so frigging greasy, burnt and old looking some of our group refused to eat it. The waitress also failed to let us know that the kids meal came with a free drink and dessert which we never got.<br/>It was just so disappointing to see such high prices on food that is sooo bad .

Great Food - Tony's went upscale!. The prices are a bit high but not to bad. I had the 14oz Ribeye for $35. Another guest had the bountiful beef ribs for $30. 9oz of Wolf Blass yellow was $15. All the food was well prepared and served. The service was quite good, but not great. <br/><br/>If you haven't been here for a few years, try it again. It's a younger customer base they are marketing to now. No more blue haired grandmothers here (except the one I came with). A telling sign is the music... Pink Floyd the Wall.

Not Empressed. Went to the location on Narin the hostess was more involved in having a conversation with her co worker then being polite to my partner & I. Sat us down didn't tell us the name of the waitress or waiter at the time. Waitress showed up didn't bring any water for us we had to ask. The waitress was rude when asked what the different was between the size of the wine glasses. Waitress brought out a glass of wine & when my partner finished her wine the waitress came & grabbed the glass off the table & didn't ask her if she would like another glass. During our meal our waitress was more involved in being buddy,buddy with the hostess then coming around to see if we wanted anything ie water. Bottom line the food was good but the service SUCKED. The hostess & the waitress should find another line of work somewhere else!! <br/>I won't go to that location again until the service improves??!

You know what? This is pretty good!. I have had Tony Roma's many times, in at least 4 countries, and I've never been impressed, nor unimpressed.<br/><br/>A few weeks ago, my husband and I visited and it was fantastic. Prompt service, full drinks and perfectly cooked ribs made the sauce stand out... then I remembered why I kept coming back. This is a good location for a good classic restaurant.

We enjoyed a family dinner at Tony Romas tonight, and several of us as first timers. Our service was outstanding and the food was delicious. My daughter ordered ribs from the kids menu and they came with a complimentary starter and ice cream desert. Our server was friendly, kind, and always there when we needed him to be. He provided us with the best service service i've had at a restaurant like this. My parents were also very pleased with the experience and we will all be going here again.

Birthday dinner. Hi there,<br/>My daughter planned dinner at TonyRoma's Regent for my 70th Birthday. We had such a great time I am sure we were quite noisy if so, sorry. The young lady server was very kind and accomodating. The food was all good from what I heard and had. Was a great time nobody bugged us to leave just an all round great experience. 50.00 down the tube. I ordered a pick up ...get this 2 half rack baby ribs cold and 1 half onion loaf colder I have to admit this was the all time low blow for 52.00 what a f...ing joke !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bad Experience. Me and my hubby went there for supper on friday night and the staff was not the best. The hostesses were nice except for the lead one(seemed like she was in charge) she had quite the attitude! I asked for a booth and she rolled her eyes and said i guess so! Not impressed. The servers were very fast to get to the table which i enjoyed but she came back 10 minutes later to take our orders even though our menus were closed. The food was cold and the ribs had barely any sauce on it. I asked for a manager and the manager was very hard to understand! I felt like an idiot having to ask him to repeat himself several times. Needless to say, i wont be coming back!

Blah. Two of us stopped in at the Tony Roma's on Regent for a later lunch today. Beside us, there were three other tables in the entire restaurant. We waited about 5 minutes for someone to come to the front to seat us (no one around). Okay, so not a huge deal. Our waiter was attentive at first, coming over to the table about three times asking if we were ready to order (we both had our menus open and were chatting). Our meals were served in good time, however, our waiter did not come back once to see how things were until we were nearly done eating. There were only a three or four other tables in the whole restaurant at this time. We did not have our water glasses refilled, ever. I had finally kind of eyeballed the waiter to come over, as the side dish of macaroni and cheese WAS DISGUSTING and not at all like the picture/description in the menu. The dish was a third of the size of the one pictured and it was dry, pasty, covered with breadcrumbs and heaps of bacon bits. I actually told the waiter I could not eat it and it was gross. After we had OBVIOUSLY finished our meals, we waited another 15 minutes for the waiter to come back to our table, again, after I had kinda gave him the stink eye. He then says, that the manager had told him not to charge me for the macaroni and "did I want anything else" ? Seeeerious ? Okay at the end of the day, the burger I ordered was pretty good and my dining partner's said his food was "okay". We kinda agreed that we probably would not stop in here again. Basically the service SUCKED and the food was mediocore. Disappointed I guess. Won't be back. Expected a little more, especially because the place was empty !

See how their slogan is "a place for ribs" I was VERY disappointed in their ribs. Dry and rather tasteless. Would not have them again.

Nice Dining Experience. Food was good, both plentiful and tasty. Server was very polite and professional. The Nairn restaurant reminded my wife and I of the Keg. Very neat and modern. Our only complaint was that the food was a bit pricey.

Not a bad restaurant. A bit pricy but really good quality. service was good although i found the short guy bartenidng kind of annoying, i could hear him from across the dining room.<br/><br/>our server, a tall goofy guy with glasses, was very professional and attentive, and service was excellent. the potato soup is incredible! my wife loved the grilled basa fish too.

Quiet and nice staff. I have been here twice and both times were on a Saturday night around 9pm. I was surprised to find that both times it was rather dead. Perhaps because of this our food was served very fast, hot and was tasty. I ordered the wings and for the price (.44 cents a wing) they are worth it. Also our hostess and waiter were very polite and attentive but again it could have been due to the fact they were bored. They have lots of parking and the place is clean. I will go back again.

Nice and average. This Tony Roma's has average staff, food and ambiance. I've never been disappointed but also never wowed. <br/>The food is tasty as always and the prices are a little high as always.<br/><br/>I think the best part about this particular location is their patio. It's always well serviced and has just the right about of heaters overhead.<br/><br/>Best thing on the menu, however, is the Kickin Shrimp. If you haven't tried them yet, you are missing out.<br/>Enjoy!

Delightful Birthday Party. My family was recently at the TR on Nairin for my aunt's 65th birthday, it was a surprise with about 30 people in attendance, the staff was AMAZING!!! They had two waitresses (Petra and Wendy) who were pretty much dedicated to just our party, and they took such good care of us!!! Everything went so smoothly, we had brought our own cake, and they made sure it was unpacked and put the candles on it and lit them in perfect timing that there wasn't any wax on the cake. <br/>The only disappointment I would have is that they don't have a private room, so we were stretched against a wall with half the tables in booths and the other half in chairs. I know this is part of the design of the restaurant and of no fault to our servers. They did seat people far enough away from us that I don't think we were too noisy for the others around us. <br/><br/>But everything was amazing! I would definitely come here again !!!

Nom nom nom. I always get a good meal here. It's hard to find something to eat when you can't have gluten, dairy or yeast. The staff are always on the ball as far as food sensitivities go. The food is always good.

Good food.. I've always been to the tony roma on nairn. its a great place, the food is good and i think the price is very fair. the service is good too.... i've noticed they raised their price but i still go there quite often. one of my favorite chained restaurant.
