Great food amazing staff and top notch management I will gladly spend my hard earned money here and you should too.
We love this place. Calamari are amazing, lemon potatoes. Gyro, slovaki, name it, it is fantastic! Hope you open soon!
Any place that will stand up to the police and fight for equality is aces in my books. Respect from Edmonton Alberta.
Thanks to Olympia stuff and owner for standing their ground against harassment of their customers. Respect earned.
It was mine first time there yesterday for lunch with my kids ! Best meal ever my chicken pita was amazing ! We will be back very soon !!!!!
As most friends and family know, I absolutely love this place! I likely eat here a few times a week, at least. Pha-nominal!
Great tasting food. Freshly prepared. Friendly staff. Family environment.
Stopped in for dinner on our Cross Canada journey. Food was delicious and very reasonably price. We had chicken pita with lemon potatoes and Greek salad and the gyro pita.
Great service, great food and respect for motorcycle riders.
Good food good people. will definitely be going there with Ali
Took my wife out for Mother’s Day and we had a fabulous dinner. Calamari, soup, salad. Great service as always. Glad the restaurant is open again. We will be back soon!!!
Best place to eat in Westwood hands down.
My husband worked in Greece for 5 years in the past, and he said that the food was authentic, even the restaurant ambience, just imagine warmer weather, and it does feel like you're in Greece. The food was nostalgic to him. They serve large portions too, and the prices are very reasonable. I liked their service too. Our server was Ashley and she was very nice and very courteous. We were greeted by who we believed was the owner too, and asked us about how our food was. There is ample parking space at the back of the restaurant, and lots of street parking. Will def go back to try their other items on the menu.

I always get the veggie pita here with hummus. It’s very good and never disappoints. Fries are delicious and so is the Greek salad!
My fave the Olympia burger hold the chile , I've had it both way but I prefer without has it has so much flavour already I just ask them to put it on my fries. I love the calamari also
Dropped in for the first time a few nights ago after driving by for months and I'm so glad I did. Food was absolutely incredible, I tried the gyro with greek salad and lemon potatoes- everything was so flavourful. Service was very friendly and attentive. If you haven't tried this place, I would definitely recommend that you do.
Hands down best Greek restaurant in town but be forewarned you’re gonna leave stuffed! Super affordable, huge portions and great service. New look too since the remodel in early 2018. Check this place out! Opa! 🇬🇷
Highly recommend! Everything we had here was delicious and they were very accommodating and cautious with their GF items. I ordered the pork souvlaki which tasted like it had been marinated over night and not at all fatty. Amazing lemon soup to start, and equally perfect Greek salad! My dad had the chicken souvlaki and raved that it was one of the best he's had. He also enjoyed his lemon potatoes.
This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is very, very worth it!
So I have tried many of the Greek restaurants in Winnipeg, but somehow had never been to Olympia. We were in the area and decided to pop in for dinner. I opted to go with my usual choice of a chicken souvlaki pita with Greek salad and poutine. My boyfriend opted for the traditional gyro. The food was delicious. One of the best souvlaki pitas that I have tried! The tzatziki was so good and the chicken was extremely tender. Love that the Greek salad had tons of feta and tomatoes and the homemade fries were very good! And they use cheese curds in their poutine instead of shredded cheese which is actually hard to find. I will definitely be recommending Olympia diner and can't wait to return!
Was a little leery about service after reading the reviews but it was truly awesome. Had the calamari and WOW was it great. Had the half Greek and half Cesar salad - both supreme with exceptional taste and correct quantity of dressing Chicken souvlaki was mouth watering. Now - my husband thought the calamari was salty and too thick but still good. His gyro he said was good but he has had better in the city. Price was good
Food is good. Portion sizes are what you would
Expect. Decor needs upgrading. Service is good. I would recommend a try if you are in the St.James area
Went here Saturday after having many good meals here! I decided to bring the parents this time to enjoy some tasty Greek food!
Dad ordered the Olympia burger with French onion soup to start with 1/2 Greek and 1/2 Caesar for his two sides. Mom went with the chicken souvlaki pita with fries and salad. Potato bacon soup of the day which is a tasty one! ☝️
My husband went with the veal cutlet and fries with salad as his choice with the potato bacon soup. And for moi, I decided to go way outside my regular.. I went with pizza... I've never tried theirs and my curiosity had got the best of me.. so I went with the Hawaiian one with pineapple ham cheddar mozzarella pizza. Had to grab a bowl of the lemon rice soup (mm yum!). Forgot this place serves up garlic bread with the soup and they had fresh bread that day too with olive oil balsamic... didn't need pizza 🍕🙂
Although the pizza was pretty good that night and the next day too, I'll stick with the Greek specialties for future visits. Calamari to start which was tasty!
Service has always been great whenever we go here. Friendly staff and big big food portions, good quality for the money you spend.

Feb 2017:
Came here with my friend a few days ago for lunch. Whenever I visit a Greek restaurant I tend to lean towards chicken Souvlaki Pita just to see how their version is.
Wow is all I can say. I was very happy with my order.
I took a page out of The Heavy Hitters book and decided to double up on salad - went with 1/2 Caesar and 1/2 Greek. The Caesar was delicious and the Greek salad could've used a tad more dressing, but it's probably best that it didn't (less is better for the waistline) :). Kalamata olives is what I like to see on a Greek salad as well.
To start, I added lemon rice soup and again wow, one of the better if not the best I've tried so far from any of the Greek restaurants I've visited in the city. It was nice and lemony. A thicker broth and very good overall. Yum.
Our server was very nice and attentive. The Souvlaki Pita was tasty. Chicken nice and tender with flavour.
I had ordered take out a few years back and I wasn't overly impressed at that time, but glad we gave this another chance because it was pretty fantastic 👍
I will most definitely be coming back here again and again ... ! Check this place out!
Ooh and big portions! Great value for the money spent.
Lunch here was tasty and reasonably priced! The portions were large and service was friendly. The garlic toast was to die for and the fries have unique, enjoyable slightly sweet flavour. Everything came out hot. The decor is super cute. I'd go back again!
The food is great; however, if you're in a hurry then go somewhere else. The last 3 times we went resulted in us watching paint dry and other customers, who came in after us, get served before our food arrived. To be fair, we complained about the wait, and the staff took 50% off of our meal. We'll definitely be back, but Olympia, please get your kitchen in order.
Came here once for a quick lunch and my goodness all I can say is wowsas. That was good. The service was amazing and food even better. I was full and very satisfied. We'll be back here.
Best Greek food in the city. Nothing else compares. I always get the gyro and it is amazing every time. Love the bruschetta and the Greek salad as well. The only criticism I have is of the fries. They have an odd taste and always make me feel a little queasy. Could be the oil they use but who knows. I wish they would update their fry game because that is the only thing that isn't absolutely mouth watering.
I've been a customer at Olympia Diner for years, I always recommend it to friends and family and it is our go to for dine in or take out. My opinion is always great quality and generous quantity. From great entrees with lemon Greek potatoes to delicious homemade soups and pitas for lunch. Love it!
Always a good meal, the calamari is fabulous, and the service is tops! I had the gyro this time, with a Caesar salad and shared fries with my kids, was stuffed by the end.
Great food! I've been here a couple of times and it's pretty consistent. Got the Lamb Souvlaki, which was great. Good seasoning, flavourful and cooked right, but I do feel like it's missing a little something... can't put my finger on it, but I know it can be better. The tzatziki sauce here is pretty good, flavour and adds to whatever you're dipping in it. The village salad was good, the dressing and seasoning was enjoyable, but my only complaint is the size of some of the veggies in there. Tomatoes were about the size of a sushi roll piece, and feta was just big chunks... too big. I like an equally consistent balance for my dishes, so having to cut the tomatoes and feta pieces smaller felt kinda silly as you usually shouldn't have to do that for a salad. I ended up wasting a lot of feta and olives unfortunately. I'm not a big fan of olives, so to put in the effort of eating around the seed was just not going to happen, haha. Feta is very rich and flavourful, so smaller chunks spread out would work great for that salad. Less would be wasted for sure. Wasn't sure if the big chunks was just their style of doing the dish, or if they do it that way because they might be taking shortcuts? I will say the poutine here is good! The fries themselves taste home cut and made, so I enjoyed that. Portions were perfect for me, by the end of my meal I was a comfortable full. Overall a good experience, service is great and friendly! Worth a try!
First time here, recommended by a friend. All I have to say is holy crap.
It's looks a little sketchy at first but it's pretty cozy once you get settled.
I had the french onion soup and a chicken pita with a village salad (greek salad with no lettuce) and rice.
My party ordered the pita and cheese platter and calamari to share and they were great and there was a ton of it. There were huge pieces of feta and tomato with the pita's.
The soup was good but nothing to write home about. The cheese on top was pretty bland.
The wrap had amazing tzatziki sauce and was super delicious and the portions were massive.
The Village salad (a slight up charge) which had huge pieces of tomato and feta and onion in it but no lettuce was really great.
I was so stuffed but my party wanted desert so I ordered the baklava. It was so huge I shared with everyone and still couldn't finish it.
The prices were extremely cheap for the huge portions would defiantly go back!
Amazing food. Got the Chicken Souvlaki entree to go. Packed really well. Also got extra tzaitki (sorry spelling). Amazing food when I got home. Great portion, everything was cooked perfectly and still warm when I got home. Totally recommend.
I LOVE OLYMPIA DINER. Their gyros are soooo good and actually have flavor. Their Greek salad is one of the best salads I've ever had and all their soups are so good.
[POSITIVE]
Awesome... I loved this place, and so did my family... Big portions, great yummy food. Very Home-cooked. Super tasty. All around fantastic. Nice waitresses and located in a really pleasant area of Sunny St. James. Will be back again.
100% GREAT!
We had the chicken pita's with Greek salad and an order of Calamari. The pita were amazing, the bread was soft and the chicken juicy. As for the Calamari, I'm always skeptical about ordering takeout calamari but this was delicious, the restaurant even slit holes in the takeout container to ensure it didn't get soggy, most places never think of that.
First Time Visit (.....but not our last!). Did not know what to expect, although have heard nothing but amazing things about this place. My only experience with Greek food is J&H and the Plaza Restaurant & Tavern in Kenora. We live in Westwood.......and we can easily walk here. But, now wonder why we never have before!
Clean environment, friendly staff. Simple decor. Very pleasant experience. A big plus is the fact that the menu is not overloaded. It's just the right size, with enough choices to make it interesting. That's important.....too much is too much. Simple is better, concentrate on your selection and make them all spectacular.
Appetizer: Scallops Ouzeri
Soup: Lemon Rice
Entrees: Mediterranean Chicken & Lamb Chops
When your spouse says that she's happy, then I'm happy. The food took a while to arrive. But when it did, BANG!
Very well-plated. Decent portions, friendly and attentive service (Thank you, Kendra!).....absolutely delicious.
The chef's get total credit on this one.....you hit it out of the park.
Thank you, Olympia Diner.....we'll be back!
Best greek restaurant in Winnipeg...hands down! I'm not sure what previous reviews are talking about when they say "not enough food" or "left hungry"? You'd have to be a gluttonous human being to leave this restaurant hungry. The portions are huge and delicious. My wife and I frequent the restaurant on a regular basis and find it to be one of our favourites. "Diner" is the best way to describe it. Great food, service, relaxed atmosphere and prices that compete with any other restaurant of its kind. Don't go there with the expectation of dinning at a main stream chain because it's not that. It's a restaurant you go to because it's simple...and that's what makes it great. A family friendly atmosphere because it's family owned and operated. Of course things can be improved, including an upgrade to some of the dated interior, but the food makes up for what it lacks in style! Either way it's one of my favourites especially when it comes to greek food in Winnipeg.
Not bad at all.. It's better than a burger joint, but not as good as a good buffet, for the money. Not some place I would rush to go to again, but dependable when I do go. Quality without being dazzling.
Chicken Pita Greek Salad. The best
The previous reviewers complaining about portion sizes must be either bigger pigs than the Heavy Hitters (unlikely) or going on off days because the Hitters have never left hungry. First we must start with saying the souvlaki here is the best we have ever had anywhere, hands down, as well as the tzatziki (the Heavy Hitters are connoisseurs of fatty sauces). Our favourite dish is the simple but incredible souvlaki in a pita (lamb, chicken, pork all delicious) One will order fries or a "Greek" salad (you can also get half and half, the portions are massive still). "Greek" is in quotes because true Greek salad does not have lettuce but real Greek salad is in fact an option for an extra $4 and they call it "Village Salad". Pay the upcharge it is more than worth it. The pile of veggies with massive chunks of real feta is a mountain taking up half a plate. So generous we get one as a side between both us Hitters and both enjoy it. The Hitters rarely enjoy salad but with feta chunks and piles of olives, herbs and olive oil it's a salty pile of heaven we can almost forget is mostly chunks of veggies. A special mention is the Souvlaki Pizza. Not normally fans of thick crust pizza, this cannot be compared to everyday pizza. The souvlaki is baked fresh to order and piled on the pizza, no frozen crap run through a pizza oven here. The pizza is so loaded up it needs crust to hold it. A suggestion is to order some tzatziki sauce on the side for dipping. Don't feel ashamed, you won't be the first. What baffles us is the number of Greek themed restaurants along Portage avenue and in St James and how they possibly survive with the legendary Olympia as competition.
Great Food. Today was our first time at the Olympia Diner. Maybe first time lucky but I doubt it , considering all the positive reviews I've read. We were there for lunch. The decor may be tacky to some but it reminded us of our Greek vacation so it was just fine. Bright and cheerful restaurant with cheerful, friendly and efficient serving staff. The food was very good and plentiful and came HOT to the table. We had lemon soup with rice, a Greek Denver sandwich and a fresh turkey sandwich with cranberries. Everything was done to perfection!. I highly recommend the Olympia Diner.
Awesome food & amazing service. Very recommended. The staff is very friendly and "homey". Love it here!! I live across the city but I'm defiantly coming back
Love it here!!!! I always go back the food does take long to come out but everything is always fresh and hot! The open faced turkey Sandwhich with half fries, half salad (yes you can do that!!)is the go-to!!! *drools*
Best Place for Greek. This is definitely the best place for Greek Food in Winnipeg. It is a charming little restaurant on Portage Avenue that serves excellent food at a great price. The meals are served consistently fresh and delicious; service is always polite; value for my dollar has always been outstanding. Today we had bruschetta for starters, and for our entrée we each had a gyro with fries and a Greek salad. Can't wait to dine here again!
Pleasant Suprise. Small quaint restaurant but don't be fooled the food is delicous and fresh not covered in grease and the portions are huge.
I've tried to Spankopita and Chicken Souvlaki as well as the Calmari... which was delicious one of th best in the city.
Just a note - if your coming on lunch an hour doesn't usually cut it, so call ahead and pre order - give yourself time to sit and enjoy the meal!
Great place! Small and unassuming, but the food is great and portions are large. I had the veal parmigiana baked with spaghetti, which comes with soup or salad(I had the Greek salad) and garlic toast. I had to box up half my meal to take home. Delicious and very reasonably priced!
Great Greek. Worth the drive to Westwood on Portage. Small unassuming restaurant, but the Greek food is amongst the best in Winnipeg. Everything is fresh, hot and delicious. I have had 3 menu items off the menu at separate visits. Chicken Pita, Chicken Souvlaki, and a pasta dish. All huge, generous and delicious.
No complaints.
Go, you'll be happy you did.
Great little Gem. I met an old friend for lunch. The service was great and the portions generous. I had a pork gyro with half salad half fries. It was very tasty and had nice big pieces of pork. My friend had the slouvaki and said it was tasty as well. We will be going back!
Go in hungry, come out STUFFED!. Large portions, good food. Usually super busy but always good food.
Shrinkage. On this take-out order, the overall portion size was at least 30% smaller than what I remember getting during the past several years. Barely any fries, carrots, and rice were provided with the cutlet (which I think was also smaller than usual). One order is usually two full meals for my smaller appetite, but there were hardly any leftovers this time. One positive, as always, the fries were well done - crispy even after a 10-minute trip home in a take-out container.
Best pizza in the city. Olympia was recommended to me by a friend last year, and I'm so glad I tried it. The pizza is so fresh and made with what tastes like, homemade sauce and good quality mozzarella. I have also dined and all of our food at our table was delicious. I ordered the lasagna, which came with buttery, warm garlic toast. Everything was excellent, great food for a decent price, and really good service too. See you again soon Olympia!
Excellent Place. We've been looking for a good Greeky restaurant ever since the Acropolis shut down. While most Greek restaurants appear to use entrees from food wholesalers, my guess would be that Olympia makes most of it themselves.
We were there for supper and I had the Neptune pasta. It was huge and had cups and cups of sauce, which I liked. The sauce didn't taste like it was from an envelope. My mate had the moussaka and it was easily the best I've ever tasted. Due to the portion sizes it's impossible to go hungry.
Maybe the biggest surprise was the spanakopita. I thought it took longer than usual to arrive, but when it did it was obvious that it was made in the kitchen and not a purchased entree,
The decor is plain and has the few required Greek touches, but the restaurant is very open and has lots of natural light. There is ample street and restaurant parking. It is on the outer edges of Portage Avenue and is a bit of a drive.
If you like plenty of well-prepared tasty food, Olympia is for you.
First time going, even though it's close to home.
Garlic toast delicious, not enough.
Lemon rice soup, also delicious and very lemony, and a lot as a starter.
Caeser salad, simple plain and good.
Ribs were BBQ not dry Greek so while good weren't anything special.
Chicken souvlaki, tender and delicious.
My sons pizza was good, according to him, pizza is a food group for him.
Spanikopita, spinachy and very good.
Home cut fries good, neighboring tables poutine looked good and lots of it.
Overall a very good meal, just a little pricy. The only disappointment was the service. While friendly, it was a little slow, though it was busier than usual apparantly, and we had to keep asking for water and pop refills. We'll go back.
You want amazing, come here.. I would say that this is MY FAVOURITE restaurant. I travel from the other side of the city (North Kildonan) to get some amazing food. I take my friends and we all crave this place every couple of weeks. I would marry the lady who creates the tzatziki. Although you won't get a peep outta her for the recipe.
From the double sided buttered garlic bread (yup, I said DOUBLE SIDED), to delicious Greek salad (lots of feta cheese) and your meal, this is a complete meal and fills you up. The chicken souvlaki is one of the best meals on the menu. And if you love calamari, you can ask for the chicken souvlaki & calamari (not on the menu but they'll still cook it up upon request). The pastas are really good (moussaka & pastitio-I apologize for the incorrect spelling). And the icing on the cake is the best, best, BEST tzatziki I've ever had in my life.
The only 2 things I would say that disappoints me is that I don't think they should charge you extra for a small side tzatziki to take home with the left overs. I think it should automatically come with no extra charge. And that they need more days with the phenomenal glazed carrots. nom nom nom.
thank you for a terrific restaurant.
A few of us from work dropped by for lunch. Excellent service and a great meal. The gyros and caesar salad was awesome and affordable.
Diner was fantastic! Our server was the best, she really new what we wanted and was a pleasure to have at our table. (has a colorful tattoo on her right arm) Thanks to all who said try the calmari, you were so right, so fresh and the batter was very light.
Will be back and will send friends.
Awesome Greek salad and chicken pita. Service was reallllllly slow
WILL be back!. WOW! I will most certainly be coming back to this place! I decided to order the Greek Burger with Greek Salad as a side and let the food speak for itself. All I can say is that I was beyond thoroughly impressed, as well as the other 12 people for the luncheon. The quantity of the food hits you right as it's served to you (I'm glad I came hungry), and the quality of the food hits you the second you take your first bite. The burger came with a nice thick-cut slab of Feta on it, and the Tzatziki sauce was the perfect compliment to the rest of the toppings. The only thing I wish I could've tried was the fries because they looked fantastic (fresh cut & piled HIGH); but that'll be something to experience next time around (and rest assured, there WILL be a next time:)
9.5/10 - Fantastic experience from start to finish!
Great food!. Calamari is a must try!!! The steak was excellent as well. I had the greek salad and it had lots of feta which was a nice bonus. My wife had a cesar salad and she said it was one of the best she has ever had. If you like Greek food or just enjoy great food you need to try this restaurant!!!
Awesome food! Never disappoints.. The restaurant is very close to my house. My boyfriend and myself come here all the time. The calamari is always excellent as is the lemon potatoes and the greek salad. The staff is really great and friendly and I find the service quite fast contrary to what others have said. :) One of my favorites.
Delicious!! Had lunch here a few weeks ago and the gyro pita was unbelievable! Greek salad on the side was among the best I've ever had too! My husband raved about the Greek burger for ages and particularly enjoyed the fact that he was able to order half fries half salad as a side. Can't wait to go back for lunch!

Great Food. Upon walking in to Olympia I nearly wanted to leave. The restaurant is in definite need of a face lift inside and out. Sat down on a chair that felt like it was about to fall apart and hoped that it would hold up so I didn't look like a fool. The Menu is FULL of authentic Greek food, yes authentic. It took a long time for the food to come out but it was absolutely amazing. I have not seen anywhere else in the Peg that can make Greek food like Olympia.
Honest Opinions Matter. So here's the deal... Everyone has a bad day... Everyone has a unhappy, or embarassing moment at some point in their lives, at their favourite or local restaurant, but why is it that only the bad ones are worth mentioning? You want to hear a real honest opinion, please continue to read. If you do not want to hear an honest opinion, and just want to gripe about your one and only experience, or even your one and only bad experience, than don't bother. No one is perfect, and least of all waitresses, and owners. Obviously you don't know the daily challenges of managing or running a restaurant!
I happen to know that this owner gets up in the wee hours of the morning to start preparing the food from scratch. Do you know that your local favourite restaurant does this? He busts his butt to make sure that everyone's stay is a wonderful experience, and he also makes sure that if you're not happy, he will do his darndest to make sure that you are.
I also happen to know that this owner is of a true European Greek background, where he takes actual pride in everything that he does, unlike most people I know! I also happen to know that everytime that I've been to this restaurant, it's been excellent service. It's been so great, that everyone I know, who wants a great meal, I tell them about this place. I've never had a bad experience here, but yes, I have witnessed others, and maybe I don't know their stories, but I've also witnessed him trying to rectify the situation, and note that most people that will post the unpleasant experiences are usually the ones that make it awefully difficult for people like him to make amends.
Regardless of the "outdated, and old" decor, the thing about Greeks that most people don't know, is that you make do with what you have. They don't see a reason to fancy things up, b/c that's just not the kind of people they are.
If you're looking for fast food, and cheap prices, maybe try the value meal at your local fast food restaurant. But if you're looking for a true greek experience, where hospitality is great, and you truly feel like having a shot and yelling Opa, then this is your place.
I can say this b/c we drive halfway across the city to come here, and my father-in-law who is also of Greek ethnicity, is the exact same way. So, please, don't be so quick to judge... Give it another shot... and maybe you'll be surprised at what you see.
Prime Rib Dinner. The best in town. Was there with friends on last Friday, awesome meal, the meat melts in your mouth.. Well, they do use AAA+ Angus and their portions are huge, and served as requested. Service was quick and efficient and the place was packed with a waiting lineup, but they had everything moving smooth. To bad the Prime Rib is available only on Fridays,, but it's worth the trip, and a reservation would be a good idea.

Awesome Food. I am now a regular at this Diner, and the food is always fresh and well prepared. The best Calamari and Greek Salad in the city by far. I never hesitate to bring my friends, or arrange business meetings here for lunch or dinner. Amazing food, and excellent service.

"Bad Night at Olympia". I am one of the owners of this particular restaurant and the Manager on duty the night of the above incident.
I would like to take the opportunity one more time to appologize to this family for that night. Our intentions were not to embarass anyone or ruin anyones time, in fact we always try to make all our guests as comfortable as we possibly can.
Having said that, we do have a responsibility as owners to obey the rules and regulations of the Liquor Control Commission, and our servers have to do the same as well. "It's Good Business" it's a mandatory course and a lisense they have to obtain in order to serve alcohol rensponsibly and therefore able to recognize the symptoms of intoxication to the best of their ability.
We wish that the party of that night could see, where we were coming from. The very same night this insident occured another well known restaurant down town as per the Free Press article the next morning had their lisense revoked for a day and fined for $5000.00 dollars for serving alcohol to an intoxicated customer.
We are a small family restaurant we cannot risk loosing our lisense or getting fined, we were just doing what we thought was right at the time, we did not know that the particular customer had a medical condition and when we were made aware of that we appologized repeatedly and offered them a round of drinks and welcomed them to stay as long as they liked. We were thankfull that this all occured after the dinner rush and these particular guests had finished their dinner and were just visiting and only a couple tables were in the dining room at the time.
Since that night I have tried to think if I could have handled the cituation differently and the answer is no, I would do the same thing all over again based on the information i had in front of me at the time.
Again we regret causing any embarassment to our valued customers, but i believe we handled this incident as delicatelly and discreatly as possible.
Respectfully,

Good Neighbourhood Restaurant. This place has been around for a long time. It used to be a Boston Pizza before BP underwent a big change in the size of their restaurants and scope of their menu. It has been Olympia for many years.
They serve good pizza and pasta at this place. There are other entrees on the menu, but I have yet to try them.
The decor screams family restaurant and the service is almost always enthusiastic and friendly.
Prices here are fairly reasonable.
If you have time and room for dessert, try the baklava. It's delicious.
Olympia does it right! There was more burger than bun – the patty was a good 5-6” wide and still reasonably thick. It had a nice texture and was firm and juicy. There was a nice beefy flavor and chopped onion in the patty. It was filling!

Really good spot for Greek food. Went to Olympia diner today for the first time and we definitely enjoyed the food. Everything was so tasty and well seasoned. Their tzatziki was so good, if they sold them I would definitely buy it!
Portions worth the price. I can say of the the tastier Greek food I have tried in Winnipeg.
I think they could go easier on the ranch sauce, but other than that the beef pita was very tasty
I LOVE authentic Greek food and had a very nice meal here. It was my first time dining at Olympia Diner and I have to say that I am sad that I didn’t discover this restaurant while I was still living in Winnipeg! The portions are quite large so come hungry. My friend and I shared the calamari and the Greek platter which was more than enough food. The service was super friendly and efficient. The drinks were equally as good. I definitely recommend Olympia Diner!
I've known about this place forever and for some reason had never tried it until today, my 29th birthday.
Let's start with them accommodating a party of 10, they were extremely friendly and helpful with seating the kids and bringing us everything we needed.
Now let's talk about the food.. I'm a big guy, who normally doesn't like trying new places due to fear of high prices and low quantity, I hate leaving somewhere hungry, well.. thats not the case here, I dont think anyone actually finished their food besides me and I only finished because I got the "Frank" burger and it stated that it was a challenge.. I can honestly say I've never eaten that much in my entire life and at that point didnt think I was making it to my 30th birthday!! Haha.
The food quality was amazing and the staff were outstanding. I'd give 10 stars if I could.
If you're like me and have never given this place a shot, take my word and go on down. You will be pleasantly suprised
Great Olympia Dip burger for burger week. The portions were hearty, nothing was bad. Food was so good, service was fast, and restaurant was clean. We will definitely return again soon, and we live 30 minutes away on opposite side of the city.
As a peg city kid - embarrassed that I did not know about Olympia until this past week. I went there twice in one week ! Amazing food - and great service ! And the portion sizes - wow! Wishing you all continued success - support local !
Olympia Diner
Olympia Diner is a wonderful Greek restaurant on Portage Avenue West. There is parking in behind the restaurant and on the nearby streets.
The entrance is on Portage Avenue. You can make reservations or show up at the door. We arrived on a Friday night just as the dinner rush was finishing. I would recomend a reservations around meal time or are in a group.
The staff was super friendly. We got our drinks promptly and our starter (calamari) quicker than expected.
The calamari was excellent but the tzatziki sauce was brilliant. The breading on the tender calamari was light and fresh. The fresh lemon and tzatziki complimented and didn't over power the fresh calamari.
Our main dishes were the Lamb souvlaki with lemon potatoes and veggies and the Greek Platter that had Greek Salad, lemon potatoes, rice, chicken souvlaki, tzatziki and spanakopita also it had lasagna.
The lemon potatoes tasted good, well flavoured, tender but grilled justvenough not to be soft. The veggies we got were beans and they were buttery and delicious. The rice was good but not extraordinary. The Greek salad had a tasty dry feta cheese and one very tasty olive (with pit). The tzatziki sauce was the same great sauce that we had with the calamari.
The chicken souvlaki was tender and juicy and tasted great.
The lamb souvlaki was superb. It was seasoned to perfection and was tender and juicy.
The lasagna was okay and the spanakopita had a great phyllo exterior was crispy and buttery. The filling was kind of muddled.
The portions here are large and very good. The staff is attentive and friendly. We will be back.
First time eating here. We had some recommendations for this restaurant from a couple different friends. Fantastic meal. Started with the Calamari- it was cooked to perfection with a delightful tzatziki sauce. The meals we had were the lamb souvlaki and the greek platter. The lamb was perfectly done. The greek platter had a nice selection with chicken souvlaki, greek salad, rice, lemon potatoes and spanakopita. The ambiance is very nice. Friendly staff. We will definitely go here again.
