The best soups in the city. Hungarian mushroom so delish, African peanut to die for and the beet borscht like your Gramma makes. Super friendly staff and such a relaxing coffee shop. We come here often and enjoy every visit.
This place is awesome best service.
Great coffee and treats.
The food is so good also.
They have the best home made soups in the city.

This is a great spot for coffee and food! It is extremely popular, so don't be surprised if you don't find a seat!
The food is home made, and their soups are fantastic; especially the mushroom!
Very pleasant staff, and if they make a boo-boo in the order they make amends more than satisfactory to the customer!
Always a treat to find at the Daily Grind!!
I enjoyed my Candy Cane Latte ..
NUM NUM NUM!!!
This is the best coffee shop around. Great soups and lunch specials.
So happy to have you as a neighbour! The coffee is amazing and keeps us going!

Service and London Fog was fantastic. Can't wait to go back
In the years leading up to my ordination, part of my training consisted in doing placements in various parts of the city. One such placement was at St. Chad’s, at the time sharing space with Saint John XXIII on Portage Avenue at Rouge Road. During the several months that I was there, one of my favourite stops was The Daily Grind, coffee shop. At the time it was in a little strip mall, just northeast of St. Chad’s.
Always a good experience every time I come here. They have booths, tables, and large comfy leather chairs. Everything is priced fairly and tastes delicious. The Hungarian mushroom soup is the best soup ever. Also good on the menu is turkey club, tuna melt, and caramel macchiato. It is very busy at lunch so if you are planning on just getting a drink steer clear of lunch time.
Great place to sit and relax. Comfy chairs. Good atmosphere. I really like their mochas and roast beef sandwich.. Their soups are really good too. Try the med veg for their soups. Absolute fantastic service, feel at home when there.
I come here every once in awhile because it's in the neighborhood. Their Hungarian mushroom soup is soooo good. I've also tried the Greek salad and the ham and turkey sandwich which were both good. I'm not a coffee person but I tried a smoothie and it was good. I don't really like the inside of the location but I can see it would be good for people who like that coffee shop vibe and for meetings and studying etc. The owner is really nice and most of the staff is except some of the teenage girl workers. My only other complaint is the menus are handwritten in chalk and somewhat hard to read, and the curved windows were broken when we came in last.
Good food... Service not great. I've been coming to this place for awhile now. When ordering food remember to get napkins before sitting down and don't make a suggestion that they bring napkins to the table when bringing food.. They will give you a dirty look and ignore you.
Finally stopped in today for lunch after driving by forever. Sandwiches were fantastic and the salad was great. Coffee was huge and the service was good.
We will be back.
Doug. Very good soup and sandwich. I don't drink coffee so someone else can comment. Great accommodating staff too.
Apple pecan salad is SO good- I get it at least once a week, Hungarian mushroom soup is bomb. The sandwiches are delicious as well. Their combos are decently priced.
Consistent!. This is my coffee spot. The coffee is so good. I haven't tried their food but there are always many people eating in there, seemingly enjoying themselves. They have specially flavoured coffee drinks for different holidays/seasons, which I love. The girls are always friendly even when its really busy. They are changing locations soon which is great as they'll be even closer to me.
What a great place to enjoy coffee and dessert. The customer service is outstanding! The atmosphere is great, and I highly recommend this place.
Fastastic London Fog using Mighty Leaf brand tea. Turkey club sandwich was delicious. Staff was was very personable and competent. We were passing through trying to find a good local run coffee shop, and we found a winner! Will recommend to friends and family
Fantastically superior to all the coffee chains nearby. If you ever find yourself looking for a place to sit down for a nice cuppa or a snack, skip the Timmy's and Starbuck's nearby and try Daily Grind! Their coffee tastes great and they have a huge menu selection of hot and cold drinks, snacks and lunch items, almost all of which is homemade in-store. I've never had a bad soup-of-the-day from here (Do try their gazpacho!) and their toasted sandwiches are wonderful. Their Green Tea frappe is like drinking refreshing, fragrant, creamy pillows. I've been coming here probably for the better part of a decade with my closest friends, because of how friendly and personable the owner and his staff are... Not to mention that we're welcome to stay and use the couches and make ourselves at home for as long as we'd like!
Wonderful coffee and so much more!. Been to Daily Grind many many times and finally got a chance to write a review for todays experience. Ordered take away of ham and turkey sandwiches, full ceasar salad, side soup, and pizza for my son. Sandwiches are made with fresh bread and fresh fillings; lettuce and tomato are never wilted/slimey like some places will slide into a sandwich. Fantastic. Ceasar salad had homemade croutons, REAL bacon but did lack flavour as far as the dressing is concerned; not that there wasn't enough but it just wet the lettuce rather than add flavor. Soup was amazing! Red pepper/tomato/mozza cheese. Heavenly! Didn't have any of my sons pizza but he ate it quietly which means he loves it :D
Of course, we will be back...many many times :D
Daily Grind's the place to go!. I've been a regular at Daily Grind Coffee since 2005. It's my favourite place to go for great food and beverages. It's the place I always think of first for a gathering with my friends. The staff get to know you by name and are very freindly. I LOVE IT....
P.S. Best fresh soups in town. Their caramel macchiato's are also to die for.
I love the coffee here! Which makes it for me. And the setup is nice. Variety of foods. So far all of them very tasty. But yes I will have to say that so far out of all the baristas there, only one of them has proven to have any kind of cheerful customer service. Maybe they feed off the employer I don't know. Still no excuse. So if you're looking for a friendly good morning it such like. This is not your place. Good cup of coffee? Order, pay for it, enjoy. Nothing more.
