Review Delicious Vegetarian Restaurant - Winnipeg

I have been to this restaurant umpteen number of times. And the food here has always lived up to its name, DELICIOUS! The service is also great. We usually have the lunch special which includes a soup (choices are Hot & Sour Soup/Wonton Soup/Consumme Soup/Vegetable Soup), a vegan dish (with option of having Steamed Rice/Fried Rice/Chow Mein) and a spring roll.

Huge portions, very tasty food. Don't miss the meat at all!

I missed chinese food, and at the same time I am trying to practice consuming more vegetables than meat. I came across this restaurant through random browsing and I am glad to find out the location is easily accessible via bus, especially for those who stays around UoM area. I went in for the first time and placed my takeaway orders with the man named Terry. He recommended the tofu black beans, and I added the deep fried mushrooms, rice, and hot and sour soup. Terry was extremely friendly and humble, and I felt so welcoming despite the restaurant earlier was empty. I am extremely impressed with how fast they cooked and prepared the food just as I arrived and ordered about 5 minutes ago. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY FRESH AND SMELL INCREDIBLE!!! Terry even asked me to try a mushroom first before I left. I was so glad to try it because it was absolutely flavourful and freshest thing I ate in a while!! I immediately speeded off home via the bus and couldnโ€™t bother to take off my coat and all. I dived right into the meal and bless, it was delicious and healthy!!!!! I would love to come here often with my friends and family, everything was delicious, nice and welcoming!!!

Delicious is a great vegan option. They say vegetarian but all the dishes are vegan. Deep Fried mushrooms - 5 ๐ŸŒŸ wonderful flavor on them. Texture was a bit thicker and chewier than I would like, but some might enjoy it "Beef" with ginger and green onions 4 ๐ŸŒŸ - when I brought the leftovers to my friend he questioned if it was actual beef. This was my least favorite dish however out of what we tried Hot and sour soup 4 ๐ŸŒŸ - it was very good, but I didn't prefer how sweet it was. If the added sweetness wasn't there I would have done a 5 Tofu with peanut sauce 5 ๐ŸŒŸ - I was but expecting to like this as much as I did. They had a decaf tea that was roasted rice and ginger which was very pleasant. It is a hint of ginger flavoring. Service was excellent 5 ๐ŸŒŸ with the server on top of the leftovers and the bill. The interior is much slicker looking then what I remember. It is modern and does not resemble your typical Chinese restaurant. It is located right on pembina, near the Stella's. Parking is available on the street and side streets. If you liked this review please hit the ๐Ÿ‘ Thanks!

Had lunch specials for 2, which came with 1 selection of soup (wonton soup and veggie soup in the picture), 1 selection of main dish (C2 and C5 with chowmein in the picture) and a spring roll for each. Price, portion, and taste were all great. Happy to have all the tasty Chinese food as vegetarian dishes. Looking forward to try other menus in the future.

This is one of the only all vegan restaurants in Winnipeg and it has been an institution in the city for 30+ years. It is one of very few restaurants committed that doesn't add MSG and allows you to taste the true flavours of the food. Love the hot and sour soup, szechuan eggplant and silken tofu dishes. It's a great restaurant for vegans and meat eaters alike.

Amazing! I have been to this resturant before and it has been consistent with flavour. We order alot and everything came out fresh and hot. I would recommend the deep fried mushrooms, the seaweed and mushroom soup, Hong Kong style noodles, deep fried eel (shitake mushrooms) and deep fried tofu in peanut sauce. The waitresses were super helpful in helping us pick some dishes.

Delicious is one of my favourite Winnipeg restaurants, even though I am not a vegetarian.ย The food is all very well-prepared and flavourful, and it's very consistent.ย I particularly love the tofu in peanut sauce, the eggplant in black bean sauce, and the deep fried mushrooms (mmmmmm).ย Their soups are also very impressive, as they make very tasty stocks without any meat.ย The restaurant is nicely decorated with black and white photos of Winnipeg, and the staff (owners?) are very friendly.ย Strongly recommend!

Went on a Friday. Pretty quite inside and very clean. The sever was friendly and gave us a pitcher of water when we asked (we drink a lot of water when eating ๐Ÿ˜…)

The menu is all vegetarian. Iโ€™m not a fan of fake meats so we ordered more traditional options. A spicy sweet and sour soup, spicy yellow tofu curry, some type of spicy dim sum and steamed rice. Everything was delicious! I was amazed vegetarian food could taste so good. The spicy ness was on point. We didnโ€™t even say what level we wanted. The soup was full of good stuff and not just an appetizer soup. My only complaint is that I wish the portions were larger.

Will definitely go back again!

This is NOT your typical Chinese resturant. If you are looking for your standard chinese food, this is NOT the place to go to. This is a vegan/vegetarian restaurant first, Chinese second.

There are no animal products used in this resturant. The Chicken, pork, beef, fish and seafood are all mock/fake/substitute meats.

That is why there are so many polarizing reviews; either people are expecting meats or are not happy with the substitutes. However, if you know what tempeh and seitan are and like tofu, the offerings here will better than you expect.

I regularly like to eat meats and find this place great. You have to go in expecting things to not be perfect substitutes.

I find typically the beef dishes to be better than the chicken/pork dishes, but I have not had any fish dishes. I had a shrimp dish once and while I found the texture to be alright, the flavour and look of it to not be what I enjoy.

Mock meat preferences is very personal, so if you do not like one type of meat dish, I would suggest trying another.

The deep fried mushrooms is a must order if you go here; even the smaller portiins a sizable is large enough share, while the large is sharable among 4 people.

My other favourite dishes is the vegetarian beef with black bean sauce on chow mein noodles, as well the noodle soup with spicy peanut sauce.

The price is reasonable for the portion sizes, and the restaurant is much cleaner than a lot of my other favorite Chinese restaurants. The only reason this does not get full 5 stars is that they only take Visa or Cash (why not mastercard or debit?) And they do not seem to offer delivery.

My friend and I decided to try this restaurant for the first time last night based on the very good reviews online . Unfortunately our server had 0 social skills and just plopped the menus down in front of us without even saying a single word . We both chose the chicken and vegetable chow mein. When it arrived the "chicken" pieces were round little balls that tasted nothing like chicken . They had this horrible chewy texture and a horrible off putting taste to them. Maybe other things on the menu would have tasted better I'm not sure but we will not be returning ever to find out . If customer service actually existed I could give a higher score . But it was pretty much non existent our entire time there . Never again .
The Heavy Hitters
Mrs. Hitter, who has never been big on meat has been coming here for many years. The more carnivorous Mr. Hitter now enjoys it just as much. They serve Chinese style vegan food with a huge menu. We don't recall ever having a bad dish and have tried a good chunk of the menu. The menu is far more interesting then your average take out Chinese place. What impresses us the the fact every dish is absolutely bursting with flavour. Many dishes use "fake" meat but they manage to do it very well, with great flavour and texture. Even the "fake" shrimp can almost cure the shrimp void in Mrs. hitter's life (she's allergic). They also have a lunch menu with specials all under $10. We tried this for the first time the other day and had mushroom, tofu and broccoli on chow mein noodles with a spring roll. We got the vegetable soup to start which was surprisingly very hearty. It is fantastic deal and was very filling. Of course we had to order our favourite a la carte with it just for later, the schezuan sauce covered veg filet.
We have taken both sets of our parents here, some of who are staunchly carnivores and were practically afraid of what vegan food might taste like. They were shocked they enjoyed it so much and there wasn't even leftovers! That says a lot about the quality of this place. Vegan or not - you got to try it!

Last night I tried out this restaurant and left quite satisfied! It's a small, basic space with a GIANT menu fully of yummy vegetarian food. I had never tried veggie chinese food so it was a bit overwhelming to pick, but more reason to return to try out more dishes. We ended up trying the spring rolls, veggie panfried dumplings, tofu with peanut sauce and noodles with satay sauce and veggie beef. I'm not really one to have "fake meat" when I eat vegetarian food but I was shocked at how delicious it was. It really resembles the texture and flavour of meat.

The tofu with peanut sauce was a favourite as were the spring rolls. Actually, so were the dumplings.

The good food was complimented with a very friendly waitress and the owner who came over to check on us several times.

I'm happy to support and return to this restaurant.

This is a great place for vegetarians to enjoy a nice meal at a restaurant. The cuisine is basically vegetarian Chinese food, or very similar. The restaurant was small and clean, and the food service was prompt. The server was able to answer any questions we had. The flavours here are mediocre, nothing amazing. The dishes labelled spicy were not spicy at all in my opinion. Our favorite of the dishes we ordered was the Tofu in Peanut Sauce. When it was time to pay, there were issues with the credit machine, but it finally did work. Note they only accept visa or cash.

Should change the name from "Delicious" to "Horrible"! We ordered the Hong Kong chow mein and it was so dry, had no toppings or any sort of sauce or veggies. It was just half cooked, bare noodles straight from a package. We ended up pouring our remaining Hot and Sour soup on the chow mein. The worst I've ever seen. Never again. What a waste!

Awesome...awesome...awesome food!!!
I've never left hungry or had a bad meal!!!
Large portions and fast service!!!
๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ ' s in my books!

My boyfriend and I are only in Winnipeg for the night, and we decided to stop here for a late dinner. The plate sizes were large enough to share between two people, especially if you add rice or noodles to your meal. Overall the food was incredibly tasty and enjoyable, and the service was exceptional as well! This restaurant is seemingly underrated as had the place to ourselves, but we couldn't be happier that we stopped by this hidden gem. Still so amazed everything on the menu was vegan! Would highly recommend!

A nice restaurant and an overall positive experience. Excellent service, and the owner is very friendly. The only negative point was that a few of the dishes were a little small for the price. However, some of the other items were absolutely massive portions for the price. I would recommend going to this restaurant with someone who has been before and knows the menu, because it is large and can be intimidating. I would recommend the deluxe chow mein. I look forward to returning.

Every single sauce is absolutely delicious. I love the schezwan sauce and tofu filets. They could probably put that sauce on a piece of cardboard and it would be delicious. No, there is no meat. But you won't notice. My husband loved the eight treasures and the gluten balls. He said the deep frying gives the tofu/gluten substitutes the same texture as meat in Chinese food in other places he's eaten. And even though it is deep fried the food doesn't feel too heavy. It's a far drive for me but if I am craving Chinese this is the place. Service is great, restaurant is tidy and quiet. Just remember before you go they take visa and cash only.

It was my first time visiting Delicious (hard to believe) and I loved the food! They serve hearty portions and the lunch special was $8.95. You can't beat that. The spring roll was delicious and I should have ordered more of those.

I would've rated them 4+ but the service was pretty poor. I don't have big expectations for service especially when I'm on my own and during lunch but I had to walk right over to the server to ask for more water. She was watching a movie on her phone and didn't even look up until I said something. Must have been a great show! :)

I request people not to go there - the worst place i have ever been to .........
Expensive- not hygienic- dirty - rude staff - very bad place - restaurant smell like washroom ....

People mistake Auntie's attitude for rudeness (she's not the owner by the way, she's just a long-time employee), but she's simply just candid and honest. She wears her emotions on her sleeve. I'd prefer that someone be like her, rather than fake-nice. ย I've been going to Delicious for almost a decade now, maybe 3-4 times a month. Their food is absolutely delicious, and I haven't found another purely vegetarian restaurant in Winnipeg that compares to it. Try the Deep Fried Mushrooms with Spicy Salt, Deep Fried Tofu with Peanut Sauce, Hot and Sour Soup, Tofu with Lemon Grass, and especially their Delicious Fried Rice. The desserts are all good, too.ย Just be sure to either have visa or cash! They don't take debit, mastercard or american express. They have a great and inexpensive lunch special every day! Check it out, too.

I'm surprised that people have had bad experiences here. I guess there must be less than stellar options on their HUGE menu... but honestly, we haven't found one yet.

We love everything about Delicious! It's amazing to have a vegetarian place where there is no fear of finding meat in your meal. Any vegetarian can relate to this right?

I love the hot and sour soup, the veggie beef is wonderful. Honestly, I'm looking at the menu now to determine if there is anything I don't care for, and I think the only thing I would skip is eggplant... but that's because I don't like it.

Definitely go here, vegetarians and meat eaters alike! It's also a lovely little family owned place, so you can't feel bad supporting a business like that!

Absolutely the best! Not Vegetarian but 100% Vegan and for you carnivores, you would never know!. OMG! I only wish this restaurant was closer to home because I would be stopping by a few nights a week to pick up my dinner! The food is fabulous, Manny the owner is adorable, like she's welcoming you into her own home. The portions are huge, the prices are amazing and the food is absolutely Delicious! Even though the menu states "chicken" or "beef", etc, it is 100% vegan. They use seitan (so not the place for folks with a gluten allergy which seems to be the new rage?). But they have many dishes without the seitan/gluten. I would highly, highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone, vegan or carnivore - who knows it may convert you carnivores ;)

It is heaven for a vegetarian.. This place is a hidden Gem. I would say their Mushrooms with spicy salt is the vegetarian chicken wing and you get so many! Their 7 treasures is also excellent, the sauce is the boss and it has baby corn! I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH

Best food in the city!. The service is incredibly, the food equally so. By far my favourite restaurant, for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.
To the person who complained that chicken was on the menu, it's not real chicken, though I can understand your confusion as it does taste like the real thing. But I assure you the menu is 100% vegan.
That being said, I have taken many meat eaters here and they have loved it. Including my meat-and-potatoes-won't-eat-tofu Grandmother. She couldn't stop raving about it!
Highly recommended!!
Balwinder
Chicken means vegetarian?. Chicken is never vegetarian so please do not include your restaurant in list of vegetarian.

Delicious!. Officially my favorite Chinese restaurant now, and I am extremely fussy. Went with a bunch of people and ordered several different dishes and everything was excellent. I will become vegetarian if I can learn to cook like this. :-). Only issue I had was that I found the hot and sour soup too spicy for me, but I probably should have asked about spiciness before I ordered it.

Best Chinese I have had bar none. I am stunned to read poor reviews here on US. I do not think Delicious is capable of poor quality or service.

Heard great things, was very disappointed. I had heard great things so I brought a vegetarian and Asian food loving friend here last week. We ordered 7 different dishes and I can safely say I only actually enjoyed one; the consomme soup.

We had ordered the vegetarian chicken, beef, and a fried tofu option. The chicken tasted ok while hot but when I went back for seconds after it had cooled a bit it was extremely porous and gross. The texture was not good. The spicy peanut sauce was delicious! BUT the 'deep fried crispy' tofu it came on was horrible. It was like biting into a dish sponge. I love tofu and was so excited for this dish but the texture was absolutely horrid. I gagged. The veggie beef was ok but had no flavour. The black bean sauce was actually quite good but after trying everything I just put it on some rice and ate mostly just that because everything else was either soggy, cold, spongy, porous, or just downright nasty.

My friend really liked the black bean sauce and rather enjoyed the ginger with green onion sauce. I also tried the hot and sour soup and found it to be neither of those adjectives, just gross. It was too thick and had almost no flavour.

Service was ok but they only take cash and Visa and were not kind about letting us know in the end. I paid for both meals but had I not, my friend would have been stuck! I don't believe there is a sign in the window but there ought to be a sign before just the til which is way in the back.

I'd give it a 4/10. The only reason it gets the 4 is because of the sauces. I would not go back, nor will I recommend it.
Razzberry551
So so. Owner has an attitude, food is not bad, I liked the beef with rice noodles in satay sauce and mock duck listed under appetizer is the worst thing I have ever tasted in my entire life, mock duck is nowhere near appetizer at all
I wouldn't mind trying their spring rolls though
Cloudyonline
So good!. One of my favorite restaurants! Clean restaurant, friendly service, and the food is sooo delicious. Tofu & peanut sauce is a great choice and so is the eggplant and black bean sauce. Enjoy!

This is my favourite restaurant right now. I have yet to order something that I don't love! The chicken chow mein is probably my favourite dish here so-far. There is nothing more comforting to me then knowing that I can order anything off the menu and have it 100% vegan and cruelty free. :)
HungryHulk
Had a take out for their special of the day which was Tofu sprouts something . It was good but asked for chillies and it wasnt and it was too watery.
Will give 7/10 but was clean place and congested.

Great Food. Followed another reviewer's advice and ordered the lunch special for my first visit to this restaurant. Everything was yummy - hard to believe it was all meatless. I went with three co-workers, two of whom also ordered the special of the day. Won Ton soup was followed by deep fried tofu in a black bean sauce with chow mein noodles. We were surprised with a frozen banana dessert in honour of our colleagues birthday. The restaurant had just opened when we arrived so we were alone at first. The cook, (restaurant owner) sat three tables down and watched us eat, which made us a little uncomfortable, but it was clear he was very proud of his food, as well he should be!
Ha Rushu
Not sure what they do differently than everyone else, but the deep fried tofu in the various dishes here is amazing.
Stonewhat
Not good. I've been here twice, and the service was horrible both times. Both times we were ignored almost the whole meal, and the food wasn't the greatest. It all tasted like prepackaged 'meats' that you would buy at the store. Oh and they only take cash or Visa

Delicious!. This is our standard go to special occasion or date place. We keep promising ourselves that we will try everything on the menu but with only two of us and the sheer delicious lure of our favourite items, this has proven hard to do.

This lovely little restaurant truly lives up to its name. After nearly 20 years of loyal dining, I have never been disappointed. The food and the service are consistently excellent and the prices are more than fair. If I had one wish it would be that they had better wine available by the glass. The bottled options are much better. Manny, our favourite server is warm, attentive and always makes you feel welcome with her unbelievable memory for what you like and how you like it. Though I have enjoyed everything that I have tried on this menu, the following are faves:

Singapore style vermicelli - perfectly spiced with curry deliciousness
Deep fried mushrooms with spicy salt - crunchy addictive pure deliciousness that you will wake up craving. Caution, this order is giant so bring friends
Eight Treasures โ€“ with its hoisiny sweetness and peanut crunch โ€“ I am salivating writing this review
Number 73 โ€“ Vegetarian beef with rice noodle and gai lan. Have I mentioned how much I love gai lan?
Either eggplant ( black bean โ€“ or peking) is by far the best Asian eggplant in town
Vegetable fried rice โ€“ with the crunchy bean sprouts makes for a perfect accompaniment to the saucy dishes
-Hot and Sour soup โ€“ best in town
-Tofu with peanut sauce โ€“ just spicy enough to cut through the creaminess โ€“ delish
Dear Vegans, this is one spot that I guarantee you will not leave hungry. It is also a great place to take your vegan curious friends. I have often done just that with really good success.

Amazing amazing food. so many vegetarian options. fantastic service and easy location. will definitely go back soon an frequently
KANA
Disappointing. We tried a few dishes - hot & sour soup, deep fried tofu with vegetables, fried rice and chow mein......was VERY disappointing. Everything tasted like it had no seasoning or flavour to it. Blah!! Can't say anything much about the service as we just got take out, but it was just OK. We can get much better vegetarian dishes at other chinese restaurants in the city, this place is nothing special..
Leah
Horrible (non-existant) service! I came to this restaurant 25 minutes before closing and the doors were locked. The hours were clearly marked on the sign, and I could see staff cleaning up and getting ready to leave inside. Probably not coming here again. I am unable to comment on quality of food.

Wonderful Food!!. We have been going here for many many years now.

We love their food so much. It has wonderful sauces, and fresh food. It has a great sit in restaurant. A wonderful evening out, or take out.

It is a wonderful place for Asian food.

Thank- you Delicious for making the most wonderful Asian Food, your a true treasure!!

Best Vegetarian Restaurant in Winnipeg. We ate at Delicious at the same time as the last reviewer (Rebeca). As usual, the food was wonderful. The service is somewhat unconventional, but very friendly. The main server (who has been there every time we've eaten at Delicious) gets to know all of her customers and even remembers your favourite dishes. She is happy to recommend dishes if you tell her what you are looking for.

The last reviewer ordered the Hot and Sour soup (which I also ordered) and added a pile of soy sauce. Not surprising it didn't taste so great. In my opinion, the Hot and Sour soup is the best I have ever tasted, with lots of flavour but with out the acidity of some recipes. She also ordered the Eggplant in Peking Sauce (which her and her friend polished off in just a few minutes - must not have been that awful). I also ordered this dish since it is one of my favourites. The eggplant is always perfectly cooked, and the sauce is delicious. I have never ordered a dish that had ingredients from a can (as Rebeca alleges), and I am very picky about this.

Since Delicious Vegetarian offers an extensive menu, there are undoubtedly some dishes that aren't everybody's favourite. I've occasionally ordered a dish that wasn't exactly to my taste, but everyone's taste is different. There is more than enough variety to satisfy everyone. If there is a particular ingredient that you do not like, talk to the server and she can advise you.

Rebeca and her friend insisted that they should only pay for the dishes that they liked (and threatened the server that they were 'from a newspaper'). They ended up leaving the restaurant without paying for any of the food that they ate. Insisting that you only pay for the dishes that you like is unbelievable. It is good, fresh, well-prepared, and flavourful food.

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. I was very excited to try out a new vegetarian Chinese restaurant in Winnipeg and I was terribly disappointed. The service was terrible and the food couldn't even enter my body. It seems like I'm exaggerating, and I might be but the food was bland, the sauces tasted spoiled and the vegetables were over-cooked or straight from a can. When we mentioned this to the manager or owner she started a debate in front of the entire restaurant about why we were wrong to question the taste. It was terrible, terrible, terrible.
Msn
Disappointing, tasteless. Saw the great reviews on urbanspoon and was very excited to try this place. But it turned out to be very disappointing and just downright gross. We tried one of the szechuan dishes: it was not spicy at all and wasn't even tasty. We also had the Delicious chow mein. Figured if it was the house specialty it would probably be really good. It was tasteless and kind of gross. We only ate enough to not be hungry anymore. I won't be returning to this restaurant.

Disappointing food and poor service. This was my first and last visit to the so-called Delicious Vegetarian Restaurant. Dinner started off on a promising note with the hot and sour soup, which was quite tasty, although somewhat too sweet. This was followed by their sweet and sour gluten balls and vegetarian filet with Szechuan sauce. Both were so tough that they were nearly inedible. Some gluten balls were so hard that - with no exaggeration - driving a fork into them required two hands and substantial force! The customers at the next table appeared to be having the same problem with the same dish. The filet was not as hard, but had an outer layer that was as chewy as a piece of leather. The taste of both courses was unexceptional. The gluten balls were extremely sweet, and there was no detectable heat in the Szechuan dish, which is designated as a spicy item on the menu. I politely mentioned that there was a problem, and my server shrugged and walked away without offering any alternative or other fix. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food and attitude of the server.

Named "Delicious" for a Good Reason. You will not be missing the meat at this vegan Chinese restaurant. We started off with flavorful consomme soup and spring rolls, which were good but nothing too special. For entrees we had the vegetable filet in szchewan sauce, which was more or less a deep fried soy patty smothered in a delicious tomato-ey sauce with tons of onions and peppers (my favorite). The dish was supposed to be spicy but it wasn't at all (and I'm very sensitive to heat). Even with the lack of spice it still tasted great! Next we had the chow mein which came with fake beef and vegetables. It was SO GOOD! The fake beef looked and had the same texture of real beef. I would definitely order this dish again, even without the fake meat, as the noodles and vegetables were done perfectly. For 2 people with the small soup, 2 spring rolls, and 2 entrees we still had to get a take out box as we couldn't finish the generous portions. Service was very friendly and hospitable. We weren't sure about a couple menu items and one of the servers was very helpful and knowledgeable about everything. I will definitely return here to try more of the menu. Be warned though--while this restaurant is vegan, it still is like most other Chinese restaurants in that a considerable portion of the menu is deep-fried--so it's good for an occasional treat!

One word: Eggplant!. I love eggplant, and the eggplant with black bean sauce here was so out of this world, that I think it's one of the greatest dishes in Winnipeg. So simple, yet so soft and stir-fried and tasty.

I loved the two mushroom dish I also ordered. The presentation was very nice for such a simple dish.

The menu seems to revolve around simplicity. If you order eggplant, expect to get eggplant without a lot of the filler that other places will add. That's a double-edged sword though as the portions weren't as huge as some places.

The soup on the other hand... hot and spicy soup. It was absolutely massive, and I had asked for the small. I dread to think what would have happened had I asked for a large. It took me probably 20 minutes to get through the bowl because it was so packed with ingredients. The taste? It wasn't as spicy as I usually like my hot and sour soups, but the size more than made up for it.

All that, and for a price comparable to most Chinese / Vietnamese restaurants in the city.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone... not just the vegetarians out there... who are looking for a very tasty and colorful meal. I'll definitely be back.

Not just a clever name..... This is by far my favourite restaurant in Winnipeg! The food is amazing! The owners are super nice and remember you and what you ordered. Before all the other vegan and vegetarian restaurant delicious vegetarian was making delicious food!

Best in town. Its really hard to find such good vegan food. My boyfriend eats meat and he loves this place too. By far best food in winnipeg :)

Just try not to say "Delicious is delicious!". Nice little place, has a good feel to it. Great selection of vegan dishes, and pretty tasty food for pretty reasonable prices. I'd definitely go back! Cash only, so come prepared.

Great Chinese food (and it's all vegan too!). Recently renovated small place. A lot of selection - we like almost everything.

Delicious is delicious. I love this place - the food really is delicious, and it's all vegetarian. Our favorites are: eggplant with peking sauce, tofu with peanut sauce, and my husband's all time favorite - mock duck - made with bean curd and mushroom.

The owner there is very friendly and has an excellent memory for faces. So expect to be remembered if you are a returning customer.

Debit , visa and cash only.

It's well... DELICIOUS!. The name really does say it all. A variety of veggie options all moderately priced. My friend and I ordered 3 entrees which was waaaaaay too much food. The portions are very generous which is good especially if you're really hungry. I believe it was the gluten free balls which were INSANELY GOOD.. mmmm.. and we had another ginger dish was just exceptional. I would call upon this place again FORSURE!

Delicious! (pun intended). I went back to Delicious after nearly a year's absence (my wife is not a fan of tofu or mushrooms, which are integral parts of many dishes). But, after the U2 concert on Sunday, I did not think far enough ahead to pack a lunch for myself, and Delicious sounded like the perfect choice.

I grabbed an order of the Spicy Peanut Tofu, some white rice, and a couple of spring rolls.

Like I remembered, the portions are HUGE. My $14 has stretched through 2 lunches, with enough being left for a third today.

The tofu is great, though best enjoyed the first day. It's a little crunchy, but not too crisp, and the center of each chunk is nice and soft. The onions in the sauce go great with the taste of the peanut and chilis, though may be a little heavy for some.

For me, spring rolls have always just been a crunchy companion to plum sauce. But Delicious makes an EXCELLENT companion for that plum sauce!

Overall, I have always been incredibly satisfied at Delicious, and am looking forward to going back again.

Meh.. Got tofu with peanut sauce... was buried in what seemed like a whole onion, chopped up... more onion than tofu! It was also lukewarm. Doesnt seem worth it to come back and try something else.

No meat? That's okay!. I was a little skeptical trying this place because there is no meat. I'm so glad I tried it because now I am in love! My favorites include the eggplant with peking sauce, the 8 treasure, the mountain of deep fried mushrooms and the hot and sour soup.

A must-try!!!!!

Hey Goober, where's the meat?. I'm not even vegetarian and I think this place is great. Best hot and sour soup I've ever had.

Great food, Moderate prices!. I have been there several times now, It is a great restaurant and the owners remember their customers. I have invited others to dine there with me and they have appreciated the food very much too. They have a very long menu, but we keep going back and trying something new each time! The one issue I noticed is that most places offer a free bowl of rice, but here it costs extra.

Affordable & tastey lunch specials. Dinner takes some experience before you order a nice mix.
Eating Often
If youโ€™re here for lunch Monday to Friday the lunch special should really be your only option (you can order off the menu but it would be more expensive and you can do that at dinner anyways). You can always count on the special being tofu accompanying a different sauce and vegetable (tofu with broccoli, tofu with hot tomato, tofu with satay sauce and mushrooms, etc.). That comes with a spring roll as well as a choice of fried rice, white rice or chow mein. In my opinion, the best part of the lunch special is the soup. In my youth, hot and sour soup was my #1 favourite food and the hot and sour soup here (especially at lunch) is the stand out for me. The soup is honestly a meal in itself. You can get wonton or consommรฉ but get the hot and sour if itโ€™s your first time. Also under $10.
