Review Confusion Corner Drinks And Food - Winnipeg

I K (Kira)
Food was great, I had tacos and my friend chicken finger (portion was a good size). Service was fine, fairly quick as well. I think I like interior better before the renovation, unfortunately it lost the vibe and looks more like a bistro now. I think the wall behind the bar was making the space look bigger. Anyhow, good location, enough parking and good food, so what else one needs? :)

A three star because I visited once during a past Le Burger week and the service and food was top of the line. But… My breakfast visit a few months ago-(Oct/Nov) was not as impressive and should be 2-star. The Jam (not included in the photo) knocked me cold with how bad it tasted it almost made me gag. It was not a great breakfast experience. Pictures look great but did not taste half as good. Hopefully they (have) improve(d).

Food was great and I loved the rooftop patio. Main floor restaurant has a lovely ambiance. Would have given 4 stars, but I didn't feel safe there. They checked our ID and vaccination card, but they did not scan it. This process is therefore at risk of QR forging and this tells me that they don't take the vaccination rules seriously. One server on the patio did not wear a mask at all, and the other only part of the time. I have a vulnerable family member. Unfortunately I just won't support this restaurant again.

I normally love this restaurant, especially the rooftop patio, and hadn't been in years. My experience last night wasn't so great. I ordered a $9 sangria, and only this morning noticed I was charged $11.25. If there is any discrepancy between the menu and what is charged, all customers should be notified before ordering. My friend and I also felt like we were being rushed out of there. Half of our food was still on our plates, and I had a nearly full glass of sangria left, when we were offered our bills and boxes for our food. We said no and stayed a bit longer. We are of a coloured ethnicity, and last night was my first time going with someone who dresses differently; it was also my first time experiencing something like this. I gave 3 stars because like always the atmosphere is great, food was tasty, and my allergies were handled well.

First time visitor. The menu had a lot of choice. Selected a Thai salad with prawns. Have a spice level option so nice it was made as ordered. Healthy portion, fresh and flavorful. Parking available which felt like a luxury in a congested location. Easy to enter and exit.

The best!!! Whether meeting a friend for an after work drink, or planning a party for 80 people, Confusion Corner is hard to beat! The food is delicious, and the drink menu is extensive. For the party, they were so accommodating of dietary restrictions, and all staff worked tremendously hard to make sure guests’ needs were met. Add to that the central location with easy on-site parking, and fantastic patio options, and it’s hard not to be impressed. Thanks Confusion Corner!

We took our wedding party for the rehearsal dinner. Service was excellent, menu set before we arrived, smooth delivery all night, we were all impressed! Food was so delicious, and we even needed a last minute GF pizza, which came very quickly. I highly recommend for big groups, we were 15 ppl!

Attractive roomy space. Great food. Friendly and attentive service. Will go back soon. Although I am not on a specific diet it is good to know that there are good vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free menu choices

This restaurant is over priced and I would never go back. I was there last Saturday for a birthday and we were just 10 people. The charged 18% gratuity and the service sucked! Our waitress was less than attentive and I feel like that the average $9 that each person paid didn't not translate to service provided. In addition I paid for a Rolling Rock Beer $8 + tax which is outrageous, this is not a Jets game. This restaurante needs to get a grip. I order a burger and fries and the portion was large but very over priced. My wife and I paid $64.52 which is insane for a Burger+Beer+Salad and Tip (and the service wasn't there to justify that). I will never go back here again! To pay this amount of money for pub food you may as well go to a different restaurant with a top chef and you will pay the same amount.

The fire place is a nice touch, especially during winter. Portions are crazy huge! Also appreciated the bartender putting on tunes during the ads between the football game.

Our server Alexa was amazing! Very bubbly and positive attitude. There was a mix up on our steaks and she took care of it immediately! Food was really good and the server was beyond amazing! Thank you

Great food and amazing service from Dylan the bartender. Would highly recommend to any of my friends.

First timer there......what we ordered was awesome. Taste was %100 and normal portion I guess. My only complaints is the bathrooms remind me of ones in a crappy hockey arena. But wife and I will definitely go back!
Katy Hopkins
Food was fantastic! Would definitely recommend and come back again too!

Love this place! Awesome service! Amazing food! My favorite is the salmon sandwich

Have caught a few bomber games with buddies in the lounge. You can't go wrong with the chicken fingers and the bartender Dylan always knows how brighten our day. Kudos to that guy and this restaurant!
Kyla Paige
Excellent food and the bartender Dylan was great! He was very friendly and recommended a variety of things to try.
Shawna Domareski
Great food, had the fish and chips, chicken tenders and Caesar salad, great service (I think her name was Adrianne?), we will definitely be back!

Best restaurant and bar in the area ! Awesome staff and great food !
Sydney Striowski
I sat at the bar with friends and was served by the bartender Dylan, he was really friendly and polite and made our experience really good!
Michelle Sorin
Loved the atmosphere! Food was great! Dylan was our bartender and was super helpful and friendly! Would definitely go again!

Loved the option of 2 patios or to eat inside. Great parking. (They have their own lot.) Good central location. Service was wonderful and the food was great. A very clean restaurant as well. (Steak Sandwich is my favourite!!)

I actually dont mind coming here and find it a good place to go for cocktails. Friend of mine and myself ordered the coconut shrimp and the calamari. Not the best with the coconut nut being really crispy and we had to return the calamari as it wasn't cooked and still taste raw flour so it was pasty. They also added half black olives and raw cherry tomatoes with an odd green sauce. Wine selection is pretty good.
Food + Ambiance
Subpar, generic, unimaginative.

An ok place to come for a drink and the food isn't bad but I wouldn't say it's delicious either. Not a terrible experience but I won't be back.

Love sitting at the bar top, very social Bartenders, especially Francois. The food and drinks are always great! The location is fantastic for heading out after a meal and a few drinks.

Decided to come here and give their burger week burger a try. Place was busy (burger week day 1) but every seat in the lounge has decent view of the tvs so it was fine. I guess they're also trying to push some local beers too so our server recommended little brown jug. It was tasty, but I wouldn't drink it all night. The main event really was the burger. I am known for being pretty picky about food, but it was perfect. It wasn't fancy as far as ingredients, but it tasted like I would want a burger to taste if a made it from scratch. Soft bun. Double smashed patties. Old cheddar. Lettuce. tomato. Crunchy pickle and some 'special sauce' that tasted suspiciously like mustard and ketchup. I'm a believer in condiments so that was cool with me. Burger week contender for sure.

Edited - Dec 2017

I came here for a friend's birthday party. There was quite a few of us and they were able to seat us all together at a nice spacious spot. This time I ordered the Steak Sandwich with French Onion Soup. My steak was cooked perfectly and all of the elements of the dish paired very well together. This meal was delicious and the service we received was top notch.
Original Review:
Nice location for sure. Love that it is in walking distance to both Corydon and Osborne. The food and service are alright but not spectacular. A good spot for drinks and apps but not my first choice to come for a nice dinner.

Ate here with my boyfriend to try their burger for the LeBurgerWeek but unfortunately it's out of stock. (as in all burgers are out!) So we ordered steak and calamari instead. Waited for almost an hour for our orders and when it came thru our tables.ugh! Disappointed. Steak might look good but its dry, unseasoned and...

We came to Confusion Corner Bar and Grill on Sunday night with a group of 5 and sat on the upstairs patio. It was a cute place to eat! I had a bulldog (strawberry margarita with a corona in it) because it was the daily drink special. To eat, I had the chicken and Brie sandwich with yam fries. The sandwich was good but it would have been better if the bread was toasted and the aioli with the fries was way too sweet. It was pretty good though all in all. The prices were a bit high but the service was pretty good and so was the food so I would come back and try something new.

The Swizzle Styx dined here today and it was very good! We dined on the fish & chips, chicken tenders, deli sandwich, yam fries, cod wrap, and spicy meat & potato soup and everything was fabulous. Service was top notch, the atmosphere was excellent. We will definitely be back!

Was there for friends gf's birthday , which was fun and food tasted yummy . They took long to bring the food but staff was friendly and let us put cake in the fridge .
Nicely located on the corner of corydon . Amazing patio and crowd.

Only reason I am giving it a 2 is because they fixed one thing that sucked here.

Went on a Saturday night for a group gathering. It was fairly busy but they had our reserved table ready for us on time.

Ordered drinks when we could. Our server visited infrequently so we did not spend as much money as we could have but hey their loss.

Ordered a pizza and nachos. It took about 70 minutes for the food to show up. The server had to be flagged over to ask about it after about 50 minutes because she hadn't even been to our table to check on us the entire time. They realized the screw up and comped us the food. That was nice of them but the service overall is pitiful.

Food quality - borderline. Their take on nachos is...unorthodox. There was a sort of breaded fried hunk of cream cheese in the middle of the chips with some green onions and corn thrown around. Sloppy, unappealing and not particularly good.

Prices were about right for a not-quite-upscale lounge.

Clientele was a mid-20s mix of people on dates, small groups like ours, and boyfriend-of-the-servers-bro-posses. It would be relatively easy to start a fight here.

I hated this place! The # 1.0 rating was only for the drink. That was good. The service was poor. Obviously you need to be young and gorgeous to rate any sort of attention from the serving staff. My main beef however is with the meal. I had ordered a poutine. I expected a poutine consisting of fries however it was actually potato chips served with gravy on top. It was HORRIBLE! Even though it is briefly described in the menu I believe something so awful so should mentioned to the customers that it is made with potato chips rather than french fries. The place was also far too loud. Please turn down the music. My goodness, it was only 6;00 p.m.. I would not and have not gone back!

went there for dinner on a pretty busy evening, and was utterly disgusted by both the food, and overall management. i ordered chicken tenders which weren't even close to being cooked, & my boyfriend had a salad. the greens in the salad were partially rotten. when we complained, they didn't offer anything off our bill. the servers seemed to be running around frantically and i actually witnessed the manager yell at one of the servers in front of a bunch of customers. the bad experience with the food is enough to keep me away from there, but witnessing the manager yell at the employee is enough for me to tell all my friends and family to never support an establishment with such a horrible manager(who i found out is also the owner).
Stone Cold Steve Austin
The corner was confusing, but the bar was not. The beer went from tap to belly as I left a trail of drunken, stoned, hookers all the way up to my holiday inn suite.

Just revisited this restaurant after a few years not going (due to mediocre experiences in the past). Was shocked this time at how exceptional our meal was. It was slow coming out, but was worth the wait. I had a very generous portion of perfectly cooked tuna (seared outside, raw inside). It came with beautiful basmati rice and good-enough veg. My friend gushed about her burger. After reading the other reviews, maybe we got lucky that night, but our experience was excellent.

Nice patio in the roof! Nice weather today.. The foods was great taste as I had order Mango Fish wrap with green salad. Price is okay. Service was friendly. Other meals look good too! Don't bother old reviews. Now look good with all meals menu. Enjoy it!
Always Hungry
Meh. A group of us sat in the ounge and the atmosphere was great! The server was very attentive and kept coming back. However I will always resent this place due to the fact that I ordered a steak sandwich with the steak medium rare- more on the rare side and my steak was very over cooked. It was medium-well done if anything. While this is not a steak place so you cannot expect the best it is still disappointing eating an overcooked steak, it tasted like hamburger.

17 Dollar Burger Rip-off. I dont mind paying top dollar for top class food, and that is what I expected when I ordered a burger that costs 17 dollars plus pst and gst.
Well what I got was a sloppy greasy burger smothered in cheap tasting BBQ sauce two strips of bacon, some sort of provolone cheese lettuce tomato and pickle.
Is that worth almost 20$ ?? I dont think so.
I will never come back to eat here again. Please and again ! if you are going to over price a meal at least make it tasty and worthwhile.
I've had way better burgers at cornerstone and unburger for less than 13$

Horrible service. Food is a hit and miss. A group of five of us went to the restaurant late night and sat on the bar side. The waitress did not bring food menus until we asked. Ordered dry ribs that came with zero seasoning. The menu states they are seasoned with salt and cracked pepper. Waitress returns after 20 min to see if we would like the ribs packaged. Not sure what's happening their however if you were sitting at the bar you were noticed.

Ralph N. This is one of my families favourite places for Sunday brunch. The corned beef hash over potato pancakes were exquisite. My daughter and I remarked that it was perhaps the best breakfast we had ever tasted. Service was great.

Michellawonderful. I had the best server today at confusion bar and grill. No problem getting another pickle for my ceasar! Great service. ... never better

Service isn't good. Our server was nowhere to be seen, and it was not busy at that time. Servings was small. Chicken wings are small, but tastes awesome.

Food nope, Service also nope. We went here for lunch on a rainy weekday, and was at first impressed by the atmosphere. We were seated next to a fireplace which was nice when coming in from the cold. The menu is unimaginative, and generic, sort of Moxies-ish. My GF had a French Onion Soup which she described as "too sour". I had the Paella rice bowl, which I enjoyed until I bit into the Mussels and got a blast of super fishy grossness. The server was inattentive and we sat a long time waiting to get our bill so we could leave. I think a manager saw us waiting and had to remind the server of our presence. With so many great restaurants in the area, I can't imagine I'd go back.

Messed up 5/7 times with our table and no effort to rectify. I ordered the Pulled pork quesadilla. Asked for no onion or peppers. It came out with onions AND peppers... and before she even gave me my plate she said oh I'll be right back. Didn't apologize or even tell me what was happening. But my friend could see the onions on the plate so we put 2 and 2 together. They came out a second time with peppers. At this point my entire group was done eating so I said forget it I'm not hungry anymore. Believe it or not, again, no apology.

My friend ordered lemon pepper wings, and received salt and pepper. Was so hungry he didn't even complain/say anything.

My vegetarian friend who ordered the grilled cheese with no meat, received a sandwich full of meat. When she told the waitress, the waitress said "yes you didn't want meat, the next one will have no meat"... Yeah, that's the least we would expect. Again, no apology.

And finally, it seems my friend who ordered the pulled pork quesadilla with fries received my original plate because it came with the side ceaser salad I asked for, instead of the fries he wanted.

Blame the kitchen all you want, but the waitress took down our order in her head. She wrote down nothing. You don't impress us. You failed at your job.

And rewinding to the beginning of our evening, we were not seated. No one was at the front and we waited for 10 minutes. Finally we just walked in and sat where we wanted to. My vegetarian friend asked for "a Caesar drink with pickle juice, if you have" and she said abruptly "no". How about "no I'm sorry we don't have pickle juice"... Too much to ask, or a sign of things to come? I'd guess the latter, because I received the same response when I requested vanilla vodka.

Lastly, it's important to note that there was NO ONE there. They were, at most, at 50% capacity.

Poor Service. I don't generally take the time to write these reviews, but the service was so terrible. I was with a group of friends (7 of us in total). 6 out of 7 orders were incorrect. The vegetarian order had ham on it; two of the orders were just flat out wrong... All in all, our experience was marred by a series of completely avoidable screw ups. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you are looking for an enjoyable eating experience, do yourself a favor and choose a different establishment.

Mediocre. Me and my better half went down for dinner this week. great atmosphere. This would be a great place to go and pre game or have a couple beers. The only down side is when you start to bring food into the mix... the service is very very slow! The food is mediocre at best. I had a steak sandwich and the steak was cold when I got it.

I'd suggest this place for a few beers and maybe an appetizer. I cannot suggest this place for dinner though.

Ginger Beef Stir Fry. This dish was absolute heaven. From the first bite I could not stop myself from inhaling this delight as quickly as possible. And once I was done I wanted more! Simply the best ginger beef I have ever had.

Always been happy with experience and food.. Great atmosphere in your choice of sidewalk patio, upstairs patio, bar or restaurant. Food was very tasty, good portions and reasonably priced . We had chicken tenders, burger with blue cheese, fish and homemade (real potato) fries, and apple and turkey sandwich.
Zak
Not much good to say; next time low rating should be a clear sign to avoid. The service was terribly slow and the meal was only mediocre. It was nothing special that I would go back to again.

Go to lounge. Likes it! Not sure why the reviews are so low when this place has never done me wrong (except one craving).

Been here twice and both times received great service so no complaints there.

This place allows you to talk to friends while drinking and eating without having to yell to the person next to you. It is currently my go to place to drink and catch up with friends as it provides good service and good food.

Ordered the Nachos with added beef and it delivered with large chunk a of ground beef and decently piled high amount of chips. I originally wanted chicken strips with honey dill but they ran out of honey dill! (that was the biggest disappointment of my coming here) So we settled for Wings. They were average size and cooked well and seasoned well, you're standard wing fare.

Drinks and food were reasonably priced and I don't mind paying up for the more relaxed atmosphere.

Great Service, Good Meal. My husband and I dined here last week. The service was superb. I had the "Blueburger" with Caesar Salad, and am happy to report my Caesar HAD anchovies (it's NOT a Caesar without them!) I love blue cheese, so ordered double, which I got (for an upcharge).
My husband had fish and chips, which he was very happy with it. We will return.
Mark Witiuk
Consistent. I am surprised at the ratings... I come here on a semi-regular basis and have never had a bad experience. (Although based on what I've read, I may not try the butter chicken...) We went as a large group yesterday for a birthday dinner; service was decent for how busy it was, food and drinks were delivered in a timely manner, and for the range of food ordered - from a chicken wrap to my elegantly presented sesame tuna with wasabi - it was solid all around the table, and the tuna was wonderful. The rice was a nice complement and the vegetables were crisp and delicious. From the sounds of it, if they can keep the service attentive and quick for all, dining room and lounge, this will continue to be one of my favourite places in the area.

Poor Service, Terrible Wings, Nice Atmosphere. We popped in for lunch and the Jets game on a Saturday afternoon. The lounge was pretty busy and we liked the atmosphere. Our server wasn't very attentive unfortunately, she was much more interested in chatting with other customers, some who I assume were "regulars". This fact was refllected in her tip. The chicken wings are the smallest I've ever seen at a restaurant, hardly any meat on them. The menu says "one pound" but that's a stretch even assuming it's one pound before cooking. Worst I've ever had. We also had fish tacos (good but not enough fish in them). I think we'd return but mostly just because the atmosphere was good. Just don't go expecting good service and good food.

They advertise gluten friendly but server and chef are unfamiliar with current gluten free practices. I was served food prepared with gluten despite checking twice. I was refunded for the meal but this is too little too late......they could learn from larger chain restaurant GF practices to ensure a safe dining experience. Not safe to return.

Hit or Miss: Disappointing food and service. Been here a couple times with friends; usually during dinner service. The ambiance of the place during dinner service is quite nice with the upbeat music and sounds of cheerful customers. This also enhanced by its prime location in the midst of the Osbrone and Corydon strip.

Food looked good on paper but majority of it is quite bland and in need of seasoning. Calamari definitely were not "spiced" and the butter chicken entree was disappointing with the lack of flavor and sauce. The fish and chips were lightly breaded but also lacked in seasoning and flavor.

I believe that good service and great food go hand in hand. This was not the case for the Confusion Corner Bar and Grill. The service was definitely undesirable; justifiable with the slow service, "lazy" servers, and they're obvious disinterest in helping out diners.

Overall with it's location and ambiance it's definitely a great place to go for drinks. But I would definitely not recommend this place as a sit down for dinner. There are other great places around the area

Nice Dinner out with a friend. This was the first time on the rooftop patio with a friend. It has a very cosy feel up there. I ordered the Baja Fish Tacos for an appy which was very tasty and flavourful. For my dinner I had the Hawaiian burger. It was awesome! It was slightly spicy, a bit salty from the ham on it, and fresh and juicy from the pineapple salsa. Never tried this kind of burger before but I would have it again! Got it with yam fries that came with a garlickly sauce. Had a great time and would recommend it to friends!

Pros. Beer is good tastes like beer. Cons. Bland depressing costco food. Dry wings. And frozen food deep fried. Could get better chicken from kfc

Drinks only!. Been to Confusion B&G a few times over the years and always like the atmosphere but this past experience was so horrible I had to sign up here and voice my opinion!!

We ate on their rooftop patio and the service took F O R E V E R ! ! Wanting something flavorful, I ordered the butter chicken - what a disappointment! There was ZERO flavor, may as well have ordered mushy rice and boiled chicken - it was that bad! My friends were similarly unimpressed with their meals but none it seems were as bad as my butter chicken.

Lastly it started to rain and people started to leave. After spending a few minutes getting wet, I asked the staff if they could extend the canopy. "No, it'll pass" was their reply!? Unbelievable. I don't care if it's "going to pass", I'm getting soaked!! Wake-up! Half your patrons just walked out!!

Will not return!!

The food was good and the service was quick. But the coffee was super cold. I did all around enjoy my experience, but this restaurant had the same sort of entrées and desserts as Earl's, Joey's, and Moxies. So I'm not rating it as a like right now. But I did like the dinner. So I may check it out again.

Disappointed. I really like the patio here. The menu is vast and it was hard for me to decide. I ended up choosing the Butter Chicken. What a disappointment. Totally overcooked chicken .....it seemed reheated/microwaved. I am mad at myself for not sending it back however I was enjoying my wine and the company of old friends it seemed like an inconvenience.
Next time I will stick to just drinks here.
Boo.

Groovy Bar and Grill. Went here the holiday Monday. Place wasn't to busy, but everyone inside was having a good time. Had a candy apple martini? Was delish. Very sweet, but still tasted the liquor. Server, Bree? knew her menu, and was funny. Saw the bar tender playing some coaster tossing game with the bar top, seemed like a good place to hang out. The soup we ordered was great, had a real homemade taste to it and was filling. Will be back soon, cant wait to see this place on a Friday night
John Kane
Not good. Steak sandwich had foul chemically taste. French onion soup bland and over salted. Burger dry and tasteless. On a positive note the server was very nice and the Reuben was decent. Stick to drinks and you should be ok
Dave
The food was fantastic, went with a party of 5 and not one complaint about the food. Service was great as well. Establishment is very nice and clean, i will definitely be back.

Go for drinks and apps but avoid the over-priced entres. Butter chicken: rice was on the mushy side, chicken was overdone, and the naan bread was heated up on a dirty grill so tasted awfull.

Tasty, Large Portions. My sister and I dined here this past weekend and were both very impressed. I had not been here in a few years and was pleased to see a new menu that has a bit of everything (pizza, pasta, steak, burgers, salads etc). With the weather being nice we decided to eat on the patio which is partially enclosed and SMOKE FREE :) There are at least 10 appetizers to choose from and my sister and I shared the spicy calamari with tzatiki sauce, which arrived in less than 10 minutes from when we ordered. For $11 we received a good sized portion for 2 of large, golden calamari rings. They were tender, crispy, and tasted great with the sauce however, while I saw the chili flakes on the calamari I couldn't taste them and so it wasn't spicy at all. For entrees my sister had a large meal-sized salad that contained lettuce, black bean salsa, cornbread croutons, and grilled shrimp which she enjoyed. I had the fish wrap which was a wrap filled with beer-breaded fish sticks and a spicy mango creamy coleslaw. The wrap was huge and hard to eat near the end and there was definitely an abundance of coleslaw to fish. I didn't care for the creaminess of the coleslaw because it made the wrap soggy and hard to eat, and by the time I was ready to eat the 2nd half of the wrap the battered piece of fish inside was completely soggy, falling apart, and kind of gross. Overall, though the coleslaw did taste good and I could taste the heat. When you order a sandwich/burger you get a choice of side at no extra charge: soup, caesar salad, apple salad, or fries. I went with the apple salad that contained lettuce, cranberries, hazelnuts, and pecans topped off with crisp, tart julienned apple with a raspberry yogurt vinaigrette. The salad was a good-sized portion and was absolutely delicious--I definitely recommend. Service was good and the food came out quickly considering the restaurant was very busy. I will most likely be back this summer to try some of their other menu offerings!

New Menu is a Hit!. Went there on a Saturday night and sat in the lounge with some friends, and the place looks fantastic after the renos! There new menu is awesome, it has way more on it, and something for everyone. The service was not all that great, so frustrating going out for a nice dinner, and having a brutal server, and the place wasnt even near full! I had the Baja Fish Tacos with a side of Sweet Potato Fries, and my whole meal was so delicious! The tacos are on the appetizer menu, but with the fries...it was enough food to fill me right up! We discovered as we got our bill that Caesars were on special for $4, and we were drinking them all night, such a great special! Too bad our server did not inform us from the beginning.I will defintiely be back here to try out the other goodies the new menu has to offer!

What's with all the negativity??. I visited this restaurant and LOVED it! I've been on a couple occasions over the last few years and was disappointed - but this time my hubby insisted we try it again as he had a positive experience there recently - I was pleasantly surprised! We ordered a 3 course meal and all our food was deelish, portions were huge (lumpa rolls, prime rib and burger, apple dessert ...). The apple crunch salad is amazing!! Service was great - our server always checked on us...only complaints - it is a bit on the pricey side and we could have used a couple more refills on our waters and hated having to ask all the time. The atmosphere was great - a great mix of all ages, cozy yet high energy feel! We will definitely go back again once their renos are completed in mid Feb.
Darren
We went there for lunch. Everyone loved their food. They make good Greek pizza. Service was good. It's a little more money than most places but as long as the food is good and the service is good I'm not going to count it as a negative.

Won't go back to dining room. When Confusion Corner first opened, I had two excellent meals in a row. Sadly, since then, each meal has been a step down in taste and quality, while the prices remain inflated.
The last (and final) time I ate there I paid $29 for a really low-end steak dinner. The vegetables were so undercooked they were hard to bite through, the potatoes were underseasoned and the steak was tough and chewy. My friend had the meatloaf dinner and it tasted like a block of salt.
The dining room was nearly empty (now I know why). The server was nice, but it is no longer high end, elegant service. It's all gone very casual, except for the prices. The bar was full and filled with an energetic crowd, so I would go back to the bar for drinks and maybe an appetizer, but I would not recommend the dining room. There are so many restaurants in Winnipeg offering quality food and classy service at lower prices that this dining room is now one to avoid. Unfortunate, as I have always like the decor, lighting and layout. But by the end of the meal, I had figured out why I was eating in a nearly empty dining room on what should have been a busy night.

Pretty Atmosphere. I'll start with the atmosphere, which is what I really liked. It was dark and there were nice paintings on the walls of Manitoba scenery. It made me want to take an out-of-town guest there.

Our server didn't mention the drink or food specials to us. After we had ordered I heard another server talk about the specials to another table, and I would have liked to try those.

We had a sashimi-like appetizer, which was so-so. Better to stick with sushi restaurants for that sort of thing. Our main dishes (scallop mac and cheese and maple salmon) were good. They were tastefully presented; pleasing to the eye. The taste wasn't bad, but it didn't really impress me. This would be more of a place to linger over a beer and some appetizers.

Overall, I just had a feeling of discomfort when I was there. The server was fairly absent, and didn't ask us how the food was until we were almost done. They were all out of any kind of black tea. The little things kind of added up to a bad experience.

It's a cool location, playing on Winnipeg's idiosyncrasies. The parking lot is cramped and it took three of us to navigate the car out of its spot.

Nothing horrendous happened, it was mostly good. But in terms of value for money, I likely won't go again.

Horrible. Went there lastweek, ran out of primerib by 7, then ordered 30 dollar steak , but then ran out of mashed potatos so got rice instead. Waited forever for meal, came out cold. The steak was like eating rawhide. Wont be going back there anytime soon, and am sure the other 10 I was with wont be going back either. BRUTAL

Overpriced for Average Food. Ordered a salad, drink, dessert... Came to over $45??? For ONE person. Now, if it were fine dining, I wouldn't have mind. But this was a crowded establishment, with a server who came to our table of 10 so sporadically, we thought she was off for the night. She didn't bother to refill our drinks or ask us how we were doing. She then brought us the wrong desserts, and looked annoyed when she had to fix the order.

Seems Good to Me. My friends and I decided to pop in here for a few drinks and some snacks. Service was really good and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Hopefully our next visit will be just as enjoyable.

Inconsistent. The quality of food is inconsistent and so is the service. Expensive food and drinks.

Great service. While a little pricey, I've always had great service at Confusion and it's a wonderful place to sit and have a drink.

Awful food, awful sized portions, over priced beyond belief!! Also I would like to add. Their rooftop patio isn't anything special, I found it cramped up and dirty.

Needs more flavour. We went to Confusion Corner and headed up to the patio with little expectations. Unfortunately, even those lack of expectations were met.

I ordered the butter chicken and was really disappointed. If you're going to keep skin on the chicken breast, then you have to make it texturally interesting to eat, and this did not do that. The curry was light on the plate and didn't have enough flavour to wow me at all. The vegetables on the side didn't have anything to do with Indian food and left the plate feeling disjointed and not well thought out. My girlfriend ordered the jambalaya which tasted better than my dish, but seemed to actually be dirty rice with grilled shrimp (certainly not a jambalaya).

Looking around at other dishes, it seemed like most people were ordering classic pub fare - maybe this is their niche and next time I feel like nachos maybe I'll be back, but as far as restaurant-quality food, this restaurant is off my list.

Pleasantly surprised!. I agree with all of the reviews that the food here is on the pricey side, however I thought our appetizers were delicious! My husband and I shared the calamari. Probably one of the best versions I've ever tried, but it was on the small side. There were about a dozen rings and that was it! The nachos were great but fairly expensive. The quesedilla (deep fried delight) was awesome. Our bill for 3 apps with 4 drinks was $70 before tip. Not bad, but if it was less I would be more inclined to rush back! Overall great food, but could do with either larger portions or smaller prices.

Awful. This menu was so lame and the food was so overpriced. I think this restaurant is far too pretentious.

I had the steak ... And it was good. I enjoyed it.

Service was good, the girls were nice and friendly.

Atmosphere is similar to Earl's except with room to move around (Server girls are dressed in a classier style though.). Decor is pleasant, and lighting is a tad dim but in a good way.

If you like to have conversations with friends, better off stepping outside cause this place is LOUD. Music is dance club loud.

Other people can be loud too, as the night we went seemed like everybody was drunk and shouting.

Place is not bad. I'd come back here but not first choice.

Not awful. This place wont blow you away. I do like the atmosphere/decor. However the food?? I would somewhat similar to, say, Moxies, or Joeys. And its expensive to boot. Much better value elsewhere. But its not like I found it gross. Just unexciting.

Had a great time. Our service was perfect. The girl was very friendly and genuine. We sat on the patio which over looks corydon. Our food came out fast and exactly how we ordered.

No free wifi , no gluten-free friendly items except the overpriced caprese salad (no value), and the servers are all unhelpful & stuck up. I haven't disliked a restaurant as much as this one yet.
AK
Decent... Fairly overpriced considering quality & service. I wouldn't recommend it. Simply put, there are FAR better restaurants in Winnipeg to fill your tummy.

Poor Value for the Money. Although I have nothing bad to say about the flavours of the food we had here in the lounge the other nite, I will say serving sizes are small for the prices you pay.
This was especially true for the Tuna dinner $25 I ordered. The meal is described as sushi grade tuna but neglects to tell the reader how many ounces of fish will be served. My waitress told me it was 6oz. My friend ordered the appetizer tuna dish which stated 4oz. $11 and both our plates had the exact same size tuna on them. But for an extra $14 I was also served a small amount of brown rice and vegetables (carrots & beets)
SO NOT WORTH IT.
We also shared a grilled pineapple and chorizo pizza which again tasted pretty good but was overpriced at $18.
Salt & pepper wings $11 had no pepper and were the smallest wings I have ever been served in a restaurant.
Service was fantastic despite it being a busy NHL playoff nite, just doubt I would be ordering any tuna or other dinners here again.

In winter is cold inside. Portion size is too small and their burger meat is gross. Nice building and location and patio in the summer. Staff is a B+ overall. A bit pricey for what you get.

Hit and Miss. I went to the Confusion Corner Bar and Grill and left disappointed. The wings had no meat on them and I'd have done better (and certainly cheaper) at Tony Roma's. The rest of the food is hit and miss as is the service. We were on the patio on the roof and it seemed as though our server wanted more to do with the table of young gentleman who were clearly oggling her, than a decent tip from anyone else. With my experience I won't be suggesting it anytime soon.

Where?. Sub-par food, sub-par service.

Great dinner!. My boyfriend took me here for dinner for my birthday. My meal was delicious. We started our meal out with a bowl of french onion soup which was very good. For dinner I had the Ahi tuna which was cooked perfectly and macaroni and cheese on the side, which was by far the best I've ever had. The prices are a little high for what you're getting but we both throughly enjoyed our meals. As for the service, our waitress was very attentive.
Flygirl
The mushroom soup was great, but their French onion soup was terrible. There were too many croutons and they soaked up all the broth and turned into a mushy, unappetizing mess. Our server was friendly, but didn't write down our order and forgot several items, despite the fact that the restaurant was not at all crowded. Quite disappointing.
Ninja
The Service is hit and miss but it has a good atmosphere for drinks and appetizers. The food is passable but not terrible.
Silverbb
Drinks only. Food is less than mediocre. Been here to eat at least 3 times and each time felt the same way. Last time I had a huge hair in my sandwhich that made me gag. Staff was great about it and didn't charge me for my meal though. The bar is fun and cozy. This place is great for drinks, but I'd eat somewhere else first.
The Dr.
Average at best. The menu has been simplified, too simplified. Mediocre food and poor service. Been here a few times and can't think I could recommend it to anyone
Eddy Emack McDonald
Had a good lunch. Chicken parm sandwich tasted great, staff was friendly
Twisted
All in one- doable for now. Have been here, more than 15 times in the last year alone...simply because it's the best lounge/patio/restaurant in this area. the food is decent, if somewhat boring and hardly stellar, the cocktails are ok, the prices verge on the medium-higher area of things.
The service is GENERALLY good, but there have been some misses recently.
will probably keep going back until there is another equally decent option around.
Amz
Yum. I've been several times for brunch, lunch and late night and have always had good service. The herb crusted goat cheese is an amazing appetizer, I have it every time I'm there.
Garth The Shark
Found the service good and friendly good enviroment excellent food
Gadi Glogowski
Been there a few times and the services was very bad. The food is decent. The cakes are good.
Tim Turner
The Bacon Blue made an impressive sight with the stack of onion rings and pickled jalapeno pepper skewered on top.
Jayme
But I think I’ll stop at the appetizers next time.
Food Musings
With its central location and ample parking lot, Confusion Corner is a popular meeting place for many. Last evening the place was hopping and it was a Tuesday night! In the last couple of years, it is likely the place that I have been to the most and I thought that it was high time that I sing its accolades. With the exception of once, when we completely overwhelmed our new waitress, the service was been efficient and attentive. Since this is an after work get-together, it's the food that quarantees the success of the evening, and that takes top marks. A couple of times this winter, I've enjoyed a "crunch" salad -garnished with a couple of kinds of nuts to provide the promised texture. I tried to find it on their on line menu just now but was not successful. So perhaps it is a new item and does not have a permanent place on the menu or perhaps the on line menu needs adjusting. Last night as I enjoyed Mama's Meatloaf (baked ground beef with capicola ham and a blend of three cheeses on a
