Review Nick's On Broadway - Winnipeg

A fantastic sandwich for lunch. We arrived from England and were so lucky to find this shop. Artisan bread and home cured meats all produced on the premises. Winnipeg is lucky to have this store.
Tom
Delicious barley soup with beans and fresh veggies. Egg salad sandwich was very tasty. A very good latte for dessert, too.

I stopped in with a couple co-workers for lunch before the holidays. The menu is simple, but the food is delicious. I had a half club and chicken soup and it was so yummy. The service was really great too. It felt really homey - put your dishes away and you get a cookie - and it was one of the best cookies we've ever had!

The space is great the sandwiches are awesome I'll get another sandwich from here again you'll have to decide for yourselves if your looking a small lunch and coffee

BEST FOOD EVER!! I recently had the beef dip and the beet salad. Omg!! Not only was the beef dip the best I'd ever had but the beet salad was as well. I've had many of both and I was blown away by the flavour in both dishes and the portions. Our office often gets catering from them as well and it's absolutely delicious. All clearly homemade and again full of flavor!

Greatest beef dip I've ever tasted. Excellent customer service- and I got a free cookie!

WOW!! I am so impressed. I just went to nicks for lunch for the first time and I am beyond blown away. I had the hot pastrami. It was so filling and the biggest serving I've ever seen from a restaurant. I had it with the house salad. Again huge portions and delicious! You get what you pay for and then some. I want to try the mac n bacon grilled cheese next time and I can't wait! I've heard it's crazy good!! Highly recommended.

Just awesome. I had the beet salad, which was so delicious, I was blown away. The balance of salty to sweet to bitter was just incredible. Please don't ever take that off the menu. I also had the spicy noodle wrap, which was much larger than I expected it to be. It was super refreshing and I was very pleased. Thank you.

I come here every couple of weeks. All the staff are wonderful! The food is delicious and high quality! My favourite things on the menu are their soups and anything with beets.

Hi. This is a wonderful place. I think i had breakfast here with a young lady whom i adored at one Point in my life. Mahzel Tov! -Point -Douglas Pharon Drexel.

I have been here numerous times as I do like their soups , sandwiches and salads. However, today I went by for lunch and ordered the egg salad sandwich with soup. Sandwich was a little dry so I asked for some mayo for the egg and I was told there was already mayo in the egg salad and if I wanted more I would be charged because they homemake their mayo. Well after 13$ for a sandwich I would say that mayo should be free if needed just like any other condiment (ketchup, mustard etc) if the mayo is so expensive because of it being homemade then perhaps keep some store bought mayo for instances like this. I have been in the hotel restaurant industry for 20 plus years and have never worked in a place that charged for mayo. Guess I am not going back on pure principle. There are a couple of other lunch places on the street that I can frequent more now. ;). Shanna because the food is good.

Went there on break this morning and the staff were extremely welcoming and nice, they also offered help ordering since it was my first time. Super impressed with the service but the food matched it. I had the breakfast sandwich and it was soooo good. Can't wait to go back

Such an awesome experience! Just walked in randomly not knowing what to expect. Almost walked out until Alex took the time to talk with me. So happy that I stayed and had lunch there!! Great staff! Great location! Great food! Clean environment! Great pricing! Wishing Nicks on Broadway all the best success!!! Thanks for making my birthday a special one!!!

Man ohhh man. If you're a sandwich lover, then this is THE place to eat. Case and point: the Broadway Beef Dip. A great sandwich to test the quality of a restaurant and Nick's blows it outta the water. I ate there 5 times in two weeks when I first tried it

The food here is quite amazing, every sandwidtch I have had, has been to date, awesome. I really enjoy the farmhouse club, and their pork buns are amazing. The only negative I really have, well 2 actually, is that it gets super hot when it's warm outside, not sure if there is air conditioning issues, but still, I place my order to go and it's not a big deal. I did recently discover they stopped serving the ranch potatoes as a side, which tbh, was very dissapointing, as they were sooooooo good. :( That said, I will still be returning.
Jacklyn Emes
Almost everything there is local and its all so fresh i wish i could go more often but i work on the other side of the city so it makes it hard. The staff there are so humble too really great place to eat :)
Chris Thomas
Just had the Hot Pastrami Sandwich and everything about it was unbelievable! Top shelf :)
Amanda Keszler
The BEST sandwiches, wow! You have to eat here. !!!
Tamara Harrison
Had the baba'wich special - so delicious! Thanks Nicks! Definitely coming back for the brekkie!

Ok wow! Do yourself a favour and make this your new lunch spot. I ordered the clubhouse and it was absolutely phenomenal. I've never seen bigger portions, had fresher food or a more flavorful sandwich before! I also love how every week there is a new special and always new delicious soup flavors.
Sarah Miranda
This place is incredible! The best Reuben I've ever had. So full of flavor and juicy. The portions are absolutely huge and well priced. You absolutely have to eat here!
Sam Richardson
The best food I've had in a while. All homemade and fresh and delicious. So glad to have found this place. What a gem! Loved it!! Had the mac and bacon grilled cheese and split pea soup. Incredible!
Leanna Claeys
Went here for lunch during the week. In search of the greatest Reuben in Winnipeg, naturally, I had to order it off the menu. The flavors were there but the meat was overly dry. Expensive for just the sandwich. But, appreciate the open concept kitchen.
Chantel
I'll keep it short and sweet. You must eat here. If you love delicious, house made food, great prices and amazing service this is the place for you. Everything is so fresh and delicious. I loooved it!
Lisa
Seriously this place makes the best sandwich and beet salad I've ever had! I love that the food is made fresh and right when I order it. The service is great and the prices are so reasonable! I highly highly recommend Nicks!
Laura
I never write food reviews and this place was such a delight and amazing experience I had to write one. The food is absolutely delicious, homemade and all made right in front of you which I love. Also the prices are amazing considering everything is house made. The staff are lovely and personable too! Bottom line: you must eat here!
Bailey
You have to eat here, whenever I'm downtown I stop in for a great meal. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, homemade soups and perfectly sauced sandwiches. This place never disappoints , the staff are friendly and personable and the food is so great !

Side note, always get like three cookies one is never enough. You're welcome.
Mistah Chillsauce
Hands down best sandwiches in the city! Our city needs more places like this. Great staff great menu! Had the beef dip special today and I couldn't be more satisfied. Juicy, tender, all around a perfect sand which.

Wow, I can't believe I'm a Winnipegger and I just discovered this place. I tried the sandwich called "Mister Crunch", which was pretty much their version of a Croque Monsieur, but really good though. I'm pretty sure he makes all the components himself, which makes it pretty impressive.

I've had some really bad experiences with restaurant servers lately, so it was nice that I soon as I walked in a friendly woman at the till welcomed me and helped me through my order. Thought that was a classy touch.

Went for lunch here on a busy Friday afternoon. We walk into the trendy office building on a hot +32 day and once we walk into the restaurant, the room was as hot as it is outside. I see people blotting the sweat off their faces with napkins. The Baba's egg was delightful and the side salad with the apple vinaigrette was delicious. My sister ordered the blue burger special, however, the burger was slightly too pink for a pregnant lady. The water she had was self-serve, but very warm because of the temperature in the room. The food was delicious, but please work on the ambience and comfort of a consumer's dining experience.

Came here for lunch to get their steamed buns (Thursday's is buy 3 get 2$ off). The bun was delicious, super moist and soft. The sweet potato and sauces went really well together with the bun. I also added pork belly which I've had better elsewhere, it was a little chewy for me but in all the buns were great and the portion size was perfect (3 buns). Will be back to try their breakfast! :)

The best Rueben I've ever had! However I'm only rating 3.5 because the service was so bad. My dining partner ordered the hot pastrami sandwich but it came out stone cold. At this point we unsure whether the 'hot' was supposed to refer to spicy or warm, of which this sandwich was neither. We complained to our server when we went up to pay. She seemed to go talk to the cook but never came back to apologize or offer a discount or anything. I realize that when everything is house-made, the prices should be a bit higher than your average diner, but I am reluctant to pay $13 for a sandwich when the service is so poor.

Had to go drop a document off on Broadway during my lunch so I thought I would stop at nicks on Broadway as I've never been. It is mediocre for the price. I paid 11 bucks for a pastrami sandwich and it was supposed to come with coleslaw, but they were all out so they gave me a pickle. I ordered it to go and by the time I got back to work it was soggy. Not a very big sandwich either. Probably won't go back.

The salads, particularly the beet salad, are very fresh and flavourful. I highly recommend them. The homemade cinnamon buns are amazing, especially first thing in the morning when they are still warm. The service has always been friendly and efficient. The only reason I didn't rate this place a 5 was because the sandwiches are a little pricey and the only one I tried, the Reuben, was good but not, in my view, something I can justify buying given there are other really good Reubens in the area for less. It is evident however this place emphasizes quality and I will always be back for their delicious salads and addictive cinnamon buns.

This is a great little spot downtown for lunch. I had the hot pastrami and was certainly not disappointed. The pickles were great and the coleslaw was fairly good. There's only a few tables here and then bar-style seating along the windows, so if you want a table for lunch try going for 11:45. The service was friendly and upbeat.

I've pretty much tried everything on the menu. The quality here is consist...always tastey and fresh. I didn't have a problem figuring out what the toothpick in my sandwich was for. The roast beef and pastrami is the best I've ever had in Winnipeg. Authentic, roasted on site and flavorful. I travel a lot to other major centres in Canada and Nick's is a standout compared to other delis. Winnipeg has a gem in Nick's. I'll be back!

I just picked up a ham sandwich from Nick's, which was sold to me as a deli on par with Sherbrook Street Deli. It absolutely is not! Less ham than Subway, more bread than a bakery. I guess if you only care about carbs, grab the sandwich, but I wanted a filling lunch, that's also delicious. Weakest sandwich I've had in a long time.

Yum! Pretty good lunch spot! Came here early, right before the lunch rush. Ordered the special for that day which was the Ossobucco bun (braised veal shanks). Really tasty! Sandwiches come with a side of coleslaw but I ordered a side of roasted baby potatoes as well ( they come in small or large orders). The menu has a lot to offer, something that could interest a lot of different eaters for they do have vegetarian options as well. Also, some pretty tasty salads!

Staff was very nice and service was quick, but then again, we did go just before the lunch rush.

Skip Nicks. My Co-worker and I were at a conference at the Fort Garry Hotel recently and stopped in at Nicks for lunch break. We both were very underwhelmed and unimpressed.

After ordering the sandwiches took 15+ minutes to make, which seemed a little long for a restaurant with only soup, sandwiches and salads on their menu, figured they should be anticipating lunch rushes and prepare accordingly.

She got the Corydon Club and I got the Hot Pastrami sandwich. The only redeeming factor of my lunch was the house salad, which had seeds, apples and feta and was very good. The sandwich's were both a soggy, messy, salty fail, we both could not finish. Speaking for my own Pastrami sandwich, the bread was soggy and the meat was so overly salty. It was like eating salt. Just disgusting. For the price we paid ($14 sandwich and salad) it was NOT worth it. I felt Nick's was trying too hard to be unique and ended up messing up classic sandwiches.

We didn't complain in store because by the time we stood in line, ordered and waited, got our food, sat down, and tasted it we had to get heading back to our conference.

I hope we just both chose the wrong meals and possibly Nicks has other items that are good. Unfortunately I will not be back to try anything further. Still drinking water to get the salt taste out of my mouth.

Refreshing change from the usual fare available for lunch. Nicks in house pastrami is prepared twice weekly. Their chicken breasts are oven roasted. They have 3 unbelievable salads that customers rave about. Nick has created his own salad dressings and sauces for his dishes. It worth the trip!
Intrepid Diner
Satisfying Food But Smallish Portions. I visited this place a few weeks ago to grab a s'mores popcorn for a snack. I didn't think that was enough to go on for a review, so I decided to give this place a try for lunch.

When I peeked in a few weeks ago the place looked pretty Spartan, it appeared to be a work in progress. They have put the intervening time to good use. The interior is fairly sleek. The place is small. There are about 22 seats with nearly half the seats at a windowside counter overlooking Broadway. There are a few cherry wood tables and chairs to seat the rest. There isn't much art work on the walls, a couple of pieces. The kitchen is an open kitchen so you can see the staff prepare your meal. One orders at the counter and the staff deliver to your table when it is ready.

The people at the front were friendly and knew the menu very well. There are about 12 sandwiches ranging in price from $8-$16 with most being $10-$12. They feature pork, roast beef, pastrami and chicken with the high end option containing seafood, including lobster. There are several vegetarian options as well. Complements to the sandwiches are three types of salad as well as a soup. There were six desserts including lemon tarts, chocolate popcorn (slightly different than the s'mores popcorn that I saw on the earlier visit), cinnamon bun, maple brittle with seeds, scones and large cookies. The desserts are mostly $2.50 with the cinnamon bun being $3.25. For drinks all that was available was coffee, tea for $1.50 and bottles of pop/water for $2.50

I had the pastrami sandwich with a bottle of pop and a cinnamon bun. The total, with tax, was $17.50. The sandwich was good. The pastrami was served warm on relatively thick slices of very fresh marble rye. The Dijon mustard gave it a smooth kick. For $9.75 I was expecting more meat in the sandwich. This is my main complaint with the place. The cinnamon bun was decent, but nothing spectacular. It would have been a bonus if the cinnamon bun was served warm, or better yet, grilled. Sadly, it was neither of these things. The time before, when I had the s'mores popcorn, I enjoyed it. It came in a box, but the caramel holding it together was still pliable and coupled with the chunks of chocolate and marshmallow, made for an ooey gooey treat.

By including dessert, I didn't leave hungry. I will likely return at some point.

Fun take on a classic sandwich. Last week, my friend and I stopped here for a weekday lunch. I ordered the Corydon Club, expecting a sandwich with way too much sourdough bread and standard club sandwich fillings. What I got was a beautifully grilled, thin cut sourdough filled with unexpected flavours (particularly the tomato confit which adds a bit of sour to the sandwich). I also chose a small beet salad, which was good, but the second time I went back (less than a week later), I opted for just the sandwich as it is so filling all on its own! Both times the service was pretty quick and the staff was friendly. I'm looking forward to trying out the rest of the menu and perhaps picking up some of their homemade jerky sometime soon!

Love love LOVE!. I work just down the street from Nicks and i will be going back often. I tired the beef dip sandwich and it did not disappoint! it was packed with flavor and was absoutley delicious. The beef dip is the best I've ever had for sure (just don't mention it to my mom)! Im super happy with everything I have ordered so far. And for the price , while some may say it's pricey.. i completely disagree. I would rather pay for quality food than quantity. Nicks on broadway is proving quality delicious good and i will be a frequent customer.

Food is great but won't go back. The food tastes great but too pricey for a cafeteria style restaurant. Can't justify a $14-$16 sandwich when it's a no frills kind of place. If you are planning to take your children don't bother going there they are not family friendly.

My love for lunch. Ever since his comfortable little dive opened up, Like many others I've been back religiously every week.
Both breakfast and lunch, whatever you buy is so different and unique in taste. With the obvious passion and effort put into each meal, its refreshing to see and taste that your eating great quality food. Along with the specials even the names for each selection of food is unique. Broadway beef dip., Corydon club , cmon now , this place gives winnipeg a flavor and culture that it sorely needs

I like it but definite room to improve.... I've been to Nick's twice now. My first visit, I ordered the Chicken Salad Sandwich and it was a total home run. I stood in line for roughly 15 minutes, but considering there were easily 7-8 people ahead of me, I felt that to be a reasonable and completely tolerable wait time. Here's the secret to getting a great sandwich at Nick's....stand in line to order it fresh. I ordered it for a noon pick up, and when I arrived at shortly before noon, my sandwich was already made (great!)...but by the time i started eating it (5-10 minutes later), it was barely edible because it was so soggy, as if they'd made it half an hour before I arrived. Maybe it was my mistake to order the Club which is made on sourdough and lapped up every bit of moisture from the guts of the sandwich. All of this being said, I will still frequent Nick's. What they lacked in proper timing resulting in sogginess, they completely made up and surpassed in flavour, presentation, and service. It's just too bad i couldn't eat the whole sandwich because it just turned to mush in my hands.

Had a late lunch here on Friday and fell in love with the food. It wasn't too full when I entered, so I was served right away and the food came pretty quickly. I ordered the special which was a pulled pork sandwich on a brioche bun. Even though I ate inside they served the food in a neat biodegradable box. Perfect for lunches if you have leftovers you want to take with you or if you need to get back to work quickly. I didn't have any leftovers on Friday though. I polished off the sandwich, the pickles (seem housemade) and the coleslaw. The juiciness and flavors of the sandwich were dreamy. I sat there actually wondering if I had eaten anything yummier in my life. The spread on the bun was particularly savory and yummy. This sandwich is what made me sign up for an urban spoon account. Hopefully the rest of their regular menu offerings are just as good. I'll be coming back and hopefully bring some friends.

Why Nick's was bad: Messy, Poor Presentation, Poor Food. Why Nick's was bad, in summary: Messy, Poor Presentation, Poor Food

Meta data: My partner and I came in for lunch on a Saturday. We were the only customers that were in when we ordered and ate, and others soon joined us. Four employees were on staff.

Nick's uses an open-kitchen style concept that allows customers to see the entire kitchen from the purchase and handoff counter. I've eaten at places that might very well have kitchens that are messy, but when your kitchen is in plain view, your priority to keep your kitchen pristine and presentable is held to a higher standard—and Nick’s kitchen was messy. Food and spills were visible on the counter top, in the forward facing meat slicer, on the stove, and in between the grooves of storage shelves. Let’s assume that it was a busy morning of prep and there was a rush of customers to serve. It’s fair to assume that your kitchen may not be in its best shape, but when you have 4 employees on staff, counter tops can be wiped down, someone can be doing deep cleaning of hard to reach places, and the floor can be swept in a short amount of time. The sliding door on the fridge units seemed to have not been cleaned in a while. For me, red flags start going up when I think about what else the staff decides is okay to leave for later or to overlook entirely.

The people working in a kitchen environment visible to customers are also open to full view and scrutiny, so again, there is a higher standard to meet. Shoes looked like they were outdoor wear and were visibly dirty. Half the staff was in relaxed kitchen wear—the other half were in casual but sloppy attire. The staff was attentive and friendly when I approached the counter, which can only slightly make up for everything else in terms of presentation.

The biggest letdown was in the food, and it started with the presentation of it. The restaurant is equipped with seating for about 20 people, which to me implies that customers are allowed to sit in and linger. The entrees on the menu include: pulled pork sandwiches, poutines, salads, soups—things that further imply that I can sit down and eat them. We ordered our food: a club sandwich with salt potatoes, and pastrami on rye with a side creamy-tomato soup of the day. After paying, we sat and were later served our meals at our table, which were served in sealed biodegradable boxes with plastic utensils. This wasn’t expected given the environment of the restaurant, but we proceeded to open our boxes and start our lunch.
Eating sandwiches out of boxes with sides proved to be difficult for a number of reasons. My sandwich was boxed with my side salt potatoes, was placed on top of sliced side pickles, and was further accompanied by coleslaw. With all of these elements in a small box, unintended mixes of flavours and food textures came along. My once toasted—and still greasy—club sandwich became sweetened and soggy by the pickles it sat on, and were further limped from the steam of the potatoes and coleslaw that accompanied it. This led to an overall difficult meal to eat as there was no way to pick up my limp sandwich without first eating the sides around it.

Commenting on the food directly, the club sandwich I ordered, summed up, was confusing. It included hot-water-bathed-then-grilled chicken breast, an olive based tomato-paste sauce, and supposedly homemade sourdough bread basted with what I could surmise was herb butter. The flavours were at the same time overpowering and underwhelming. Other than being mangled by the sides that accompanied it, the sandwich had too many flavours and textures that neither tasted close to a classic club, nor accomplished an attempt to be unique or memorable.
Salt potatoes were boxed with my lunch: a boiled darling-potato dish with salt and topped with a too strong parmesan cheese. The parmesan cheese took over the dish completely, making these potatoes too salty to eat. Coupled with the box it was presented in, this dish became too odorous. If there were spices that were cooked with these potatoes, I couldn’t taste them as all I could taste was salt and partially melted parmesan.
My partner’s pastrami sandwich was a good-enough dish, and could have been better if not boxed with the other sides which also made it slightly difficult to eat. My one complaint: for such simple ingredients, it should be a perfected work of art—but it wasn’t because of soggy bread and a heavy hand with the spicy mustard.
My partner’s soup was also a letdown. Served lukewarm, the cream in the tomato soup had started to separate, and there were too many competing textures and flavours from what I would assume should have just been tomato and cream.
Without drinks, our lunch came to $30+, which from that dollar amount, I would have expected more. Given some attention, this place could improve, but due to its limited hours, poor food, and a poor first impression, Nick’s has failed me.
Nick's can improve with a few changes: keep the dishes uncomplicated and easy to eat, simplify and focus the menu, and keep the kitchen impeccable.

The Broadway bowl is worth a try.

Heard many positive reviews from co-workers so decided to give it a try. The restaurant area is nice (albeit a little small) and I like the open concept. Line up was right to the door; however moved fairly quick. I found several different sandwichs and salads to try; however I love cream of mushroom soup and that was the soup of yesterday so decided to give it a go. Disappointed. The soup had potential - lots of nice flavor; however it certainly wasn't a cream soup. It should have been called skim milk of mushroom soup. The consistency of the soup would be comparible to consomme soup and it could have had more mushrooms. I did like the onions in the soup (very unexpected) and added some flavor. Not at all what I expected. Having said that, I certainly will try again as the salads looked awesome!! From what I could see of the sandwichs, they looked a little on the small side....but looked tasty.

The best in town. I have gone to this a place times so far and never have been disappointed, the price is worth the quality of the food and it tastes amazing every time I go. The owner is very friendly and you can see he puts a lot of effort into his work. Keep it up!

Fresh, Real and delicious food!. Went for lunch today and ordered a small cream of mushroom soup, a half order beet salad and a half order of the salt potatoes - DELICIOUS! My entire bill was under $9.00 and I ended up taking the potatoes home as I could not eat any more food.

All of the food was made with things I can pronounce and I am looking forward to dragging my entire work crew here! They are still working on the seating (they need more), but the restaurant is clean and modern.

Only down side(s) - soup spoons!! Get soup spoons - not coffee spoons to eat with. My friend and I were both wishing for a soup spoon - and - it was very drafty. The main door was open and the cold from the sliding outside door was tunneling straight into the restaurant. Please close the door. Being warm would make it that much more enjoyable...oh and a SOUP SPOON!

Good reuben!. Value wise, I think Nick's on Broadway gives you the best bang for your buck relative to the two other sandwich shops in the city (King + Bannatyne and Sherbrook Street Deli). For $8 you can get a hot pastrami sandwich served with hot mustard and city bread rye with a pickle and coleslaw. My fave is their red star reuben ($11) pastrami, russian dressing, sauerkraut, swiss cheese on city bread rye; this sandwich is done panini style so a little different from the classic reuben but very good.

They have lots of side/full orders of salads and soups for $2.5/$4. The house salad - mixed greens, apple, feta and cheese - even a side order felt fairly generous for the price. This was a great light salad to balance off the heavier meat sandwich. The salt potatoes - baby potatoes, kosher salt, garlic butter and parmesan was served whole and probably would have tasted better if the baby potatoes were cut up more so the garlic butter and parmesan can coat more of the potato.

Nice breakfast/lunch place on the corner of smith and broadway in a newly renovated location. The space is very angular and doesn't offer a ton of seating; it's not the most comfortable space but it's really a place for a quick breakfast/lunch. You order and pay first and then pick up your order so no table service. Everything is served in disposable boxes so it has a bit of a food court feel. It's open Mon-Sat 8:00AM-3:30PM.

Good food but little value.. First time visit and the sandwiches were very tasty. My wife had the hot pastrami and we were disappointed with the size of the sandwich. However it was quite good. I had the broadway club and it also was on the small side. $11 for a small sandwich with only cole slaw (also good) as an accompaniment is a little pricey in my mind. We also had the salt potatoes and liked them as well. Don't think we would go back just to eat there, as parking is also extra.
Matt_mclean
Love this place. Get the pastrami. Seriously. Just do it.

Oh, and the people are great - always friendly. Clearly the chefs take pride in their craft. I recommend it to everyone.

Scones. Buttery and delicious, the house made scones are the perfect morning pastry

My new obsession..... I'm so glad that Nick's has joined the neighbourhood, but I'm also kind of sad, because I'm going to get fat eating there all the time! A group of us went and tried a variety of things from the menu. Everyone loved their meal and couldn't get enough. The beef dip was moist & garlicy, the club was tender and delicious. And the potatoes, where do I even start?! Needless to say, I will definitely be back and will more than likely work my way through the menu. Friendly staff, delicious food, reasonable prices. What more can you ask for?
Oasis_hooligan
Eggs Benny!. The eggs benny and the chocolate marshmallow popcorn were AMAZING. I hope they expand their breakfast menu.

Awesome beef dip, got it with cheddar ! and the potatoes and ceaser salad rock as well!!

Nick's on Broadway represents everything I love in a good sandwich shop: simple, delicious food served attractively, priced aggressively in a busy part of town. I applaud them for the thoughtful menu and think they will be an attractive alternative to the fast food, food court esque options I have become accustomed to during the lunch hour. For anyone in Downtown Winnipeg, Nick's is an easy recommendation for a wonderful lunch.
Donald McKenzie
I did find my sandwich underwhelming. Other than that however, I was pleased with all the other items I tried on the menu. I was pleased with the service, as my orders were all taken and prepared in relatively short time. Nick’s has only been open a little while and I’m sure is still finding it’s feet a little. However, this place has the look of a restaurant that has a long-term future on Broadway. It’s a good place to warm up in during winter. During summer it might be a good place to duck into when the food trucks lines are really long. If you are in the Broadway and Smith area, take the time and drop in to Nick’s.
