Review Cafe Seine River Cafe - Winnipeg

Mort Adler
This restaurant is a gem tucked away in a St. Boniface location parking lot that you would miss after many times driving by! It is a very cozy, family run Cafe. We went for breakfast today and the food and service was unbeatable! There aren't too many places like this left. They have a large menu catering to everyone's tastes. I had a veggie skillet that was to die for! Highly recommend this place! You won't be disappointed!!! 😀

Food was awesome, great service. my kids loved their meal and my wife and I had a great time also.

Eggs Benedict and their pepper sausage eggs Benedict 🤤 super yummy, borderline addictive, easy going staff, and a cozy sitting. Going out for coffee and breakfast? This is the place to be!

Ordered skip. Seine river café never disappoints.. food was delish, looked amazing and best part is it’s local.. one of my fav breakfast places. Yum :)

The food was excellent, and cheap. I would absolutely come back here. The service was a little slow, considering it wasn't that busy. However, that can definitely be forgiven, because the staff were friendly, and my waitress was happy to help with my questions about the menu. Try the Belgian waffle, it's AMAZING.

Ordered on skip, breakfast poutine and breakfast sandwich. I give it a solid 9/10 the food was great

Awesome busy, small restaurant with great food and great service. Staff say it is crazy busy in winter months and less busy in summer but we thought a place with a line up on a summer day was busy!

Excellent food, wonderful staff. I’ve eaten here many times (+8). Everything I’ve ordered was great. Cheeseburger pouting and Ruben are my favourites. I’ll be back many more times.

The food was aweful. Absolutely do not recommend

First time ordering but was not impressed. Ordered chicken fingers and poutine. The chicken fingers would’ve been great but they were much too salty. The poutine was salty too and the gravy was gluey and tasted packaged.

Seine River Café is a good hole in the wall diner. Reminds me of home cooked. Prices are reasonable.  If you're coming for a dining experience I would suggest you go elsewhere to save yourself from complaining. However if you're wanting a good meal that fills you up, I would suggest checking this place out.

The SRC Burger is a life changer: one of the best burgers I’ve had anywhere with this big pile of finely cut crispy fried onions and mmmm... also nice choice of sides including salad, fries, etc. We’ve also enjoyed many standard breakfast staples including eggs benny and a yummy breakfast poutine. Service is always friendly and helpful. Love this place!

Went for breakfast and the place was busy. Four skip drivers waiting for food at the door. My party of 2 waited 45 mins to get our food, but that was only after we reminded the waitress we've been waiting for awhile. Won't be going back
Rick
Got there around 5 pm. No wait; seated immediately. There was one order of a beef dip and one order of a roast beef dinner and soup. Everything was excellent. The waitress was very efficient and friendly. Will need to come again and try something different.

Great place for breakfast lunch and supper very good portions great value for your dollar and the serving staff were fantastic here they make you feel at home

Not expensive and good. Sometimes, when I don't feel like cooking, I order "Veggie Skillet" through Skip the Dishes. I've been at the restaurant a few times as well but it's always full, lots of people so a bit too noisy for me.

Good place for breakfast. It's your average little diner. Portions are a good size and the food tasted good. It wasn't spectacular but for the price I would go back.

Terrific little place, a family-owned diner style atmosphere ideal for a casual weekend bite. We popped in for Sunday breakfast and were delighted to have so many options to choose from. On this visit we ordered the Mexican omelette with beef, cheese, green onions and topped with salsa and sour cream; as well as the Benedict omelette - which combines the best of traditional Eggs Benedict and a ham and cheese omelette. Service was fast and friendly.

I used to love this place! I even got others to go and they loved it too but this place is not what is used to be. The restaurant was only at half capacity and we were waiting over an hour for our food (and still never got it). There was an endless line of to go containers going up in the window and no plates! They have decided to completely neglect customers and focus solely on their SkipTheDishes orders. This was my second visit this year and both times were a horrible experience. I will never go back and I will share that sentiment with anyone who cares to hear it.
Krawchdroid
Poor service, staff is more concerned with Skip the Dishes orders than walk in customers. After 40 minutes we left, we got there before 11am and left at noon. This was my 5th time there and 3rd time with poor service, will not go back. <br/>

First time to this cafe, busy waited about 15 mins. to get seated, received our coffee and ordered. Waited over an hour and still no breakfast, by this time there were many empty tables but the cooks were so busy filling orders for skip the dishes they seemed to have forgotten about the people sitting waiting for their order in the restaurant . After two tables that were seated after us received their order and we were still waiting for ours we got up and left. My first visit turned out to be my last.

Every so often there’s a place that I’m very aware of, but never get around to visiting. Seine River Cafe is one such place. Located in a strip mall on Provencher Avenue, just past the Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain. I’m generally at the CCFM several times in a year, but never seem to make it the extra half block farther east. Perhaps I need to develop a habit of walking longer distances.

A great little breakfast nook in St. B that has great service and decently priced food. <br/><br/>It's good to find a place that does breakfast well and this place does it. Unlimited fountain of coffee and quite busy the closer you get to brunch, so I recommend getting here early if you don't want to wait.<br/><br/>
Alyssa Pauline
Decent food but a bit slow to get a table. Not necessarily worth the wait as the breakfast is simple. One of my friends also had a problem with her food but it was taken care of promptly.

If I could give a a negative 10 on this place I definitely would! Walked in and the hostess was immediately RUDE and very disrespectful! So we left! If that's any indication of how the food tastes, no thanks!
Ana
Do not bother so not worth the waiting for a table then the waiting to get your order across! Food was COLD ( one thing I hate is fn cold food) my order was placed on my table incorrectly! First order came with green bell peepers when I specifically said NO GREEN PEPPERS, second try came with bread again ordered without bread due to my Celiac disease!! What a F****N disappointment ..... would rather drive the long commute to Nicks Inn!

Came here for a later lunch, had the chicken Caesar wrap with fries and a side of gravy, and the kids chicken finger meal. The kids meal can with two decent sized fingers that were cooked well but were very bland. Fries with both orders were store bought, not homemade and I found the gravy to be a touch too salty for my liking. The chicken Caesar wrap was ok…it would've been better if the chicken was even throughout the wrap. It was cut in half and one side had most of the chicken and the other most of the salad. <br/>I'd come back and try it again though.

I've been here on a few occasions, only for breakfast, but each visit was fantastic. The food came out quickly, despite always being busy, and my eggs have always been prepared just right.<br/>Service is friendly, restaurant is clean, and the food is top notch. Highly recommended!

Best French toast I ever had! The cafe is a hole in the wall and a bit grungy but the food is really good and the service is good too. I highly recommend the French toast it's absolutely delicious!

Came here on Sunday for brunch. All the tables were occupied as we came during peak hours but we managed to get a table within 5 minutes. My partner had the Reuben sandwich with French onion soup. The soup was served with croutons and mozzarella cheese on top, not the traditional baked with cheese and bread. Disappointing, not to mention the croutons were stale. My partner said the Reuben was alright and he'd rather go elsewhere for a better one. I had the eggs Benny with hash brown poutine. The eggs were not poached traditionally, in fact they were fried sunny side up and covered to steam. I was extremely disappointed with the hash brown poutine - shredded potatoes (were not served crispy), minimal cheese curds, some bacon, and a whole lot more hollandaise. I should've done more research before ordering otherwise I would've gotten chicken fingers and fries based on the photos.
Clare
Great breakfast here, everything is always so fresh and no matter the time of day that I have decided to pop in there are always tables - waitresses are very friendly and remember faces.

Had a terrible experience with Stella's in st.b on Mother's Day. Ended up going to Seine River Cafe and it was great! Great service, got us in quickly, very friendly staff and the food was fantastic! Definitely coming here again!!!

Tried this place for lunch and very busy but worth the wait.  Ordered the Grilled chicken caesar's salad and was very good. Fast friendly service with ample parking. I'll be back to try their breakfast/brunch.
Carol
All the food I've tried here has fallen flat. The ingredients are cheap. Bagged cheese instead of fresh, frozen/canned vegetables. Plain panko style bread crumbs as the batter for the chicken fingers which all falls off when trying to eat it. Perogies tasted like deep fryer with onions that were crunchy and hardly cooked. Over cooked fish that was all batter and the batter was rock hard at both ends. The fries lack all flavour and seem like they come from a grocery store box. The dessert was dried out. Service on the plus side has been friendly. This place serves food that is more like fast food than home style.

Absolutely worst customer service I have ever had in my life.  All the prices on the menu are wrong, their steak sandwich platter is now $18.99 gone up from $13.99. We had to have the person who answered the phone call us back to tell us different prices multiple times. When I had cancelled the order for the Steak Sandwich and called back to order something else she had explained the other order was already ready was I sure wanted to order more, well no I suppose not? So now my office is all ready to eat besides myself. VERY unimpressed with this business, I had never been, my work is across the street, and it would've been very easy to make a customer out of me considering I order food daily but NO. I officially will never try Seine River Cafe. <br/><br/>Sincerely, <br/><br/>Not a fan.

Came here last night with my aunt for supper. She had the Salisbury Steak special. She devoured it. Very tasty according to her. I had the chicken quesadilla. One of the best in the city. They season the chicken and it's loaded that it ends on your plate. Love it!
Tom
It is usually very busy here, and I can see why. The food is awesome! They have sone of the best shredded hashbrowns on planet earth, crispy and fully of chopped onion. We had the bacon cheddar burger and chicken fingers this time. The burger was very good, and a competiter for one of the best in the city. the chicken fingers were very tender inside, and beautifully crunchy outside, Im sure theyre homemade. The poutine was average, but good. Even the pepsi somehow tasted better here than anywhere else to both of us. The service isnt the greatest, but very good considering how many people come through here. Highly recommended!
Ambrioo
The classic breakfast is great. The hash browns come with onions at no extra charge which is awesome. Aside from that, I'm not a huge fan. It's good for classics, although the poutine isn't the greatest.

Ouch. Disappointing day at SRC. Usually a really good experience, and good food. Denver and fries ..could not really eat the fries, these things were rock hard. Soup and Denver were good though. The service today however was really lousy..could not get a check for the life of me,one girl just seemed to be walking around in circles(really),avoiding eye contact every time she went by. The older waitresses seemed to be more preoccupied hugging a regular customer every ten seconds it seemed like. Number one,the place is FULL of paying customers that deserve equal attention, and number two, with all the good food they serve,it seems silly and disappointing that they can't make a way better French fry themselves, instead of taking the easy way out using a frozen product. Make some fries, and get the old guy to visit later. There are tons of places to eat.

This is a fave weekend breakfast joint and for more than just me... the restaurant is packed every weekend. The service is great and the food is consistently good, what else can you ask for. My breakfast pick is the Ranchers Breakfast which is Eggs, their home made beef patty, potatoes and toast. At lunch you can't go wrong with a burger (home made patty) or the king of the road roast beef sammy.
Sarapeno
My partner ordered the King of the Road sandwich with hashbrowns on the side, and an order of the au jus normally served with the beef dip. I had a basic breakfast with two eggs, sausages, and pancakes. Very impressed by the quality of food. We watched the kitchen slice the roast beef for the sandwich to order, and it was incredible. Very good flavour and properly cooked. Au jus was good, but not amazing. Eggs cooked precisely to order, and the most delicious fluffy sweet pancakes I've had in ages. Let's talk hashbrowns though. Hashbrowns can be so polarizing. These are shredded ones, possibly from frozen (hard to really tell), but cooked beautifully. The crispy bits were crisp and golden and not burnt or hard. The crispiness was nicely distributed throughout the whole portion, so each bite had that snap of fried potato. The rest of the potato was firm and well cooked, rather than soggy, squishy, or grainy like they are in so many other places. For me, these hashbrowns were my holy grail. We were only there once, and around brunch time, just catching the tail end of what was clearly a busy Sunday breakfast, but we were very happy with our food and our service.

Great service, Great food, great people.<br/>Everything is cooked perfect.from the sunny side up eggs to the burgers and crispy fries . And don't forget the gravy mmmm. Well worth stopping in and filling up.

Thought we would try this place again. It's been awhile. Well the services sucks food was cold. I wouldn't recommend this place. Coffee tastes burnt too. Not worth the money. <br/>Haven't been here in a while. Ordered the veggie omelette and hash browns . It was cold and mushy. Waited 20 minutes to be seated. Only good thing was coffee was never empty. The servers that were walking around never smiled. I would smile at them when they looked at me and nothing kinda weired. Just another greasy spoon resturant in the city!

Breakfast. Very busy at 1030 on Louis Riel Day. Friendly Staff, Coffee cup was never empty, breakfast meal good. Decor is outdated and the tables/chairs have been well used.

Great service. Love going there!! Always delicious food and smiling service! Better get there early because they are busy and there is a reason for it! ☆☆☆☆☆

Best family owned restaurant. Awesome service, awesome selection, awesome food. one of our favorite spots to dine!

Delicious home made foods!. This busy place is not that cheap. But everywhere prices are going up and most prices are fair.. Always made with fresh ingredients and this is a family style operation. I can not eat spicy foods and this place has food with taste and  flavor but not the ridiculous spicy dishes nor sushi some people crave. <br/>It has some personality, not like the pedestrian and predictable chain! YAWN!<br/>The staff work very hard and aim to please, healthy sized portions.<br/>I always receive tasty food here. <br/>Breakfast is consistently hot and delicious. Home made potatoes, prepared in a variety of ways, delicious bacon, perfect eggs and very fluffy pancakes. Also, Fabulous toast, and French toast.. <br/>Some other non breakfast meals....Turkey...real true turkey in their meals, very tasty, savory  soups. <br/>I have to say one of the best chicken tenders to be found in the city, soft as marshmallows, they are real chicken breast fillet.Tried the home made Lasagna in August 2016 and it was very tasty. Less sauce than I am used to but so moist and every noodle almost seemed marinated in tasty seasonings with plenty of delicious and non greasy cheese.<br/> I have yet to try the desserts. There is never any room.

Best diner ever.

$3.29 for a glass a of tomato juice outragious !!. Decent breakfast, friendly service, but some of the pricing for a hole in the wall café a little steep !!

Home made favorites. Been there with my dad once usually for lunch. Food is always home made And absoulutely delicious. Price is very reasonable as I'm starting to find alot of mom n pop places are getting expensive. <br/>Me and a friend weren't extremely hungry and were just going to split a Bacon cheeseburger n Ceaser salad. The waitress totally picked up on it without us telling her and our burger came already cut in half. It's the awesome little things.

Breakfast of Champions. We first came here one Sunday morning when the line-up at Chez Cora - the chain down the street - was too long to be worth the wait. We've never looked back. The food here is wonderful, the service is great and the staff are always cheerful. The décor is your grandmother's living room circa 1988, but that's appropriate and comforting, as are the generous breakfasts.<br/><br/>And, one more thing of note - one of our party has serious allergies. The Seine staff are always careful and accommodating and have never made us feel as though dealing with that allergy is in any way an imposition. It is true that sometimes you have to wait for a little while to get a table, but I have always found it worth it.

Great little spot. Have been a few times and never disappointed. It can be busy so pick your times but the food is good and the staff friendly.

A delightful spot I like to frequent after a long night shift. Want a buger at 8am no problem. Delicious shredded hash brown with lovely sautéed onions. Eggs are always perfect! Some of the friendlyest staff around. Don't often open the menu, as the specials are too good to be true! But don't forget the menu is there - I recommend the grilled cheese with fries and gravy. Great portions, never leaving you hungry. A true St. Boniface gem!
FudeDude
Great hashbrowns. We come here for breakfast now and again. I have had other things from the menu though. The homemade chicken fingers are quite good (as long as they aren't overcooked), as are the homemade onion rings. However, I usually just stick to back bacon and eggs. The shredded hashbrowns have arrived perfectly each time. Always crispy but never greasy or under done.

Shocked by all the good reviews.... Super expensive for a diner. I thought we'd stumbled upon a hidden gem but not in the slightest. Typical diner food, typical quality and certainly nothing special. The service wasn't great, especially considering that we went mid-afternoon and it wasn't very busy. I ordered a club sandwich without tomato but of course it arrived with it. I sent it back and by the time it came back out to me, my boyfriend had finished his meal, even though mine was apparently being fixed "right away". With two club sandwiches and one coffee, the meal came to $30 before the tip. If the food had been special, different or even above average, I could have understood the price, but with the food being what it was and the inside of the diner looking like it hadn't been updated in decades (mismatched chairs at all the tables) I have to shake my head at this place.

Over rated greasy spoon. Over priced. Drab decor. Uncomfortable chairs. Ate there 3 times in last month. (Family member makes me) don't waste your time.

We go to the seine cafe regularly, the best breakfast place in Winnipeg bar none. Excellent staff, even better breakfast special. Coffee is always strong and fresh. Fantastic spot for breakfast!
Mmmmfood
I love seine river cafe. The food is fantastic. Excellent chicken burgers and clubhouse. Breakfast special is tasty and satisfying. The service is fast and friendly. The only draw back is its small dining room and cramped tables. Beacuse its usually busy the noise level can a bit much. Small sacrifice for a great restaurant. I will return again and again.

Had the meat lovers breakfast. Good meal. Simple american breakfast dinner food.

Always Good!. Been coming here for years! Great lil breakfast joint as well as lunch. Never dined for dinner, however I am sure their menu is just as good as their breakfast and lunch. Service is prompt and so is your order. It is a busy place so be patient as they do their best to seat you quickly.

Come here often. As usual the food and service was great!!!!
One Of The 2 Fat Guys
Pricey for a cafe. Heard alot of great things about Seine River Cafe. The menu looked like it has alot of things Id like to try. However, this day I was in the Clubhouse mood. Im told they have a great one here. <br/><br/>I ordered my clubhouse with a bowl of soup. Scalloped potato soup. It was good. Downright tasty in fact. Had cheese and green onions on top- nice touch.<br/><br/>Club sandwich was sort of predicatable. Not necessarily a bad thing.... not tiny but certainly not stacked. But the thing that sort of got me, was that it did not appear to be real roast turkey. Was definitely not turker roll or turkey lunch meat, but it also didnt look like the real deal. Unless they shaved their own roasted turkey. If this is the case, they should stop. If the turkey is real, lket it look real... big and chunky. <br/><br/>The sandwich and the bowl of soup- and thats all I got- was 12 bucks and change. Add the tip and thats getting rich for a cafe. For me, too much. Great service though. 3 stars.

Great breakfast specials. I've heard good things about Seine River Cafe from the Winnipeg Breakfast blog. I went on a weekday morning and it was nearly packed. I've heard that on weekends, it's hard to get in. The place feels homey and family-run. Right when you walk in, they have a board listing quite a few breakfast specials. On their menu, none of their specials are listed though. I had the standard breakfast special with eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and toast. They have the option of shredded or homestyle hashbrowns, which I appreciate. The breakfast skillet was one of the best I've ever had. It's nice and baked in and packed with more than just just hashbrowns, eggs and a protein. The food tastes less greasy than a diner.

Had 1 hour to eat. My boyfriend and I wanted to try something new and decided with this restaurant. We had only an hour to eat so we were pretty nervous since there was 4 names ahead of us. I asked the server if quick breakfasts were possible as my boyfriend had to work at 12pm and we were in the middle of a Sunday brunch rush. She offered to take our order while we waited. We were seated within 15 minutes and received our drinks no more than a min after sitting down. 5 minutes later our food came and it was absolutely delicious. We were very pleased with the service and we definitely will be retuning in the near future. I should note... From the moment we got there at 10:45, we finished eating and paid by 11:25!

They have great food however they should serve more fries...potatoes are cheap....come on!

Great breakfast. Great bang for your buck. Lots of food to fill even the hungriest teenager. Not to mention it tasted good.

Not Very Good. Went to Seine River Cafe for Breakfast. It was very crowded but we got a seat fairly quickly. It took about 1/2 an hour to get our breakfast. We got our pancakes about 10 minutes before the rest of our breakfast. They tasted like they were from a mix. The eggs benedict were the worst I ever had. The sauce was a very pale yellow and tasted like garlic. Couldn't even finish them. It cost about $40 for 3 of us. I would not go back.
Karl
Yikes. Ate there the other week, had the mozzarella mushroom burger and it was just o.k. The restaurant was dumpy and the whole time a fly was biting my leg. Would never go back.
JessicaB
Never going back. We had heard so many positive things about this place that we decided to try it on a Saturday morning. We waited but got in rather quickly and were served promptly by an efficient, very busy server. <br/>Now - the food. I ordered eggs and bacon with fresh fruit and rye toast. My partner ordered the Country Skillet with brown toast. The eggs, bacon, and fruit were great even though she switched our toast. But the Skillet. Oh my. I doubt I have ever seen a more questionable dish in any established restaurant and it tasted worse than it looked. This was supposed to be a combination of eggs, vegetables, sausage, hashbrowns and hollandaise sauce - what he got was an off-white gravy, perhaps a turkey gravy? It didn't look or taste like hollandaise and the dish was swimming in it. <br/>At first, we thought, this is the saddest hollandaise on the planet (and we make our own semi-regularly, so we both know how it should taste and look). Then, we considered that maybe someone in the kitchen just added the wrong sauce to the dish - possible and would explain it.<br/>We would have liked to explore this more with the staff, but no one asked how our food was. My partner ate it like a good guest, quietly noting that he would never come back. The plates were cleared, our coffee was refilled. When we went to the front counter to pay, the bill was presented, payment was taken and we were sent on our way. All without the important detail of asking "how was everything?" <br/>"Well, actually..."<br/>"Oh, was there a problem?"<br/>"We were just wondering..."<br/>And so on.<br/>Instead, we are posting this on a website for ALL to read. If you do go there, maybe you could ask two questions on our behalf (since I will never be able to talk my partner into going again). <br/>1) is your hollandaise made with egg yolk, butter, and lemon, or is it made with corn starch and turkey base?<br/>2) do you care if your guests like the food or is the assembly line of "feed'em - git their money" all that we can expect?

Fast. Affordable. Deliciious.. I don't think I've ever been here when it hasn't been packed with people. We've had lunch, breakfast and supper here and it's always fast and delicious. <br/><br/>Their breakfast is your typical breakfast fare, I always enjoy their burger and their beef dip is exactly what the title says, a lot of beef with a lot of dip.

Great place to eat.. I hear this place has lineups around the corner before it even opens on the weekends for breakfast, and with good reason! The food was fantastic! I got the Mexican Chicken Omellette w/pancakes & a side order of fries (it was suppertime and I'd missed out on lunch). All I can say is I'll never need to worry about ordering a side dish again, even if I've missed a meal, because the portions were just right for a big guy like me. Normally the pancakes served with breakfast are thin but these were about twice as thick as the normal ones I've seen at other restaraunts. The omellette was great (particularly with the sour cream it's served with) and very filling.<br/><br/>I'll definitely check this place out again and would recommend it to any of my circle of friends.<br/><br/>8.5/10

Service! Any time one considers the attractiveness of a potential dining place, service is always important. I am tough to impress when it comes to service, because the only thing that turns me off faster than rude or negligent service at a restaurant is that recent brand of phony, cloying, patronizing service of the big box store variety. Thankfully, Seine River Café boasts neither. Their service is sincere and attentive. Your server will recommend things without hesitation showing their confidence and investment in what they bring to your table. Which brings me to the food. I am not one for going out for brunch every Sunday. I usually don't like that I'm paying too much for something I can do a lot better in my kitchen. I also hate that in addition I usually must endure that Wal-Mart greeter style of service and the loud cramped dining experience. However, Seine River Café is more than worth it. These cooks pay close attention to little details... The texture is flawless. The Eggs Benedict, which I've had so many bad examples of that I seldom order it, was absolutely fabulous. Everything was crispy in all the right places, and while their Hollandaise sauce might not be the real deal, it as good as a real properly-made Hollandaise. (and no doubt as rich) All in all, it is a great place for a breakfast, perhaps Winnipeg's best, and I look forward to having supper here sometime.

New place for breakfast.. I went here for breakfast this weekend, after reading some very positive reviews. I am always looking for cute places to eat breakfast with my Fiance on the weekends. <br/><br/>I went early, as some reviews mentioned that it gets busy quick. We went right after it opened and it was already half full, which is a good sign to me. The staff were very friendly, and we got seated right away. I ordered the two eggs with hasbrowns and toast, no meat. My eggs were perfect, and the best poached eggs I have ever had. I am usually very picky with poached eggs, becuase I hate when they come in a seperate bowl full of water becuase the cook is too lazy to drain them, but here they were on my plate, no water, and they were cooked perfectly. The toast is huge, which is always a plus. I got a shredded hashbrowns and let me tell you, these are the best hashbrowns I have ever had. Nice and crispy with onions mixed in. My meal was only $5.99 which is super cheap! Perkins is out and Seine River Cafe is in!

Mmmm steak. I went on a friend's recommendation to Seine River and I really did love it. I had the steak sandwich and it was great! I hear they have excellent breakfasts and I'm eager to go back to try something new. <br/>Decor is enh but prices are low and flavour is high. The wait staff is very very nice too. I certainly recommend it!

Busy, happening place so get there early!. This place is packed on the weekends and with good reason... their homestyle breakfasts are great! It's a bustling little place but is well worth the wait!

Yummy Hash Browns!!!. Always searching for a good Sunday breakfast joint. I have to admit that I wasn't too thrilled to go here especially since it didn't look that inviting as we drove up to the place. But don't judge a book by its cover right? Actually, I had a great breakfast. This place was busy but not packed so we got a seat right away (granted we were arriving well after 1 pm). They serve breakfast all day so that's a plus.<br/><br/>I ordered the "Canadian back bacon and eggs" breakfast ($6.99) which includes toast (rye, white or brown) and hash browns or 3 buttermilk pancakes. I asked our server if she preferred the hash browns or the pancakes and she was emphatic that hash browns were the way to go. And boy was she right, I loved the hash browns here - probably one of the best I've had. They were loosely shredded potatoes (with some onion for flavour) and had a fantastic crispy exterior but perfectly cooked interior. It was almost like a latke except it wasn't (if that makes sense). They were perfectly seasoned - I'd go back just for the hash browns alone! The scrambled eggs and Canadian bacon were fine - you can't mess that up too much. Portions are good for the average person and prices are decent.<br/><br/>Went again and instead of toast/hashbrowns, I added fruit for an extra $2.49 to my breakfast. It was a large portion of super fresh and delicious fruit! Great price to have nearly half my plate full of bite sized pieces of cantaloupe, honeydew, apples and bananas. The pancakes are fluffy and thick - a nice treat but I think 3 on a plate are too much carbs for me.<br/><br/>My two issues with the place are:<br/>- OJ is from concentrate and not fresh (not that they claimed that) but I prefer fresh juice<br/>- toast was dripping with butter - I don't mind pre-buttered toast but there was way too much for my liking so I'll have to remember to tell them to skip that step. The good thing is that they bring you out an old school rack of PB and various jams in those disposable single serving packages (I haven't seen those in a while).<br/><br/>Otherwise, food service was prompt and the servers are super efficient and friendly! The decor is nothing special, things look a little cluttered as there are shelves in the dining room that act as extra storage for inventory. Nonetheless, the place feels warm and inviting.

The Seine River Cafe is a little joint in St B. I heard peeps talking about it like it was a hidden gem in the Peg, so I made a joint to check it out. Apparently you can’t even get a seat in the place Sat or Sun mornings.

Yeah baby! 4 eggs, side bacon, back bacon, ham, and sausage all on one plate. You could also ask for a couple slices of cheddar cheese on the side to round the meal out. Delicious!

The Seine River Cafe is a popular spot and they don't take reservations. 11 Burger Clubbers showed up at 11:30 thinking we'd beat the lunch rush but instead caught the tail end of the breakfast crowd of shiftless seniors. As dawdling diners finished up, the team of waitrii assembled tables for us like Lego. There was much consternation among them as they pushed tables around before grudgingly settling on an L-shaped configuration. I ended up in the bushes and Cary got the corner leaving his back exposed to attack from the rear, but as he put it “ I enjoyed being molested, repeatedly, by April. I usually have to pay extra for that .” It’s a nicely decorated restaurant and Jo-Ann “ enjoyed the interesting artwork while waiting for food .” The service really was great â€" even at the tail end of breakfast when the waitresses were probably expecting to

D and J1 traveled to Minneapolis for the weekend for a Vikings game and the Bruce Springsteen concert and so our mandatory Sunday supper was going to have a couple of chairs unfilled. Instead, I decided to treat the rest of us to Sunday Brunch so that I could spend a quiet Sunday evening at home.  At this moment it is snowing (again) but I am in my jammies watching football and blogging and I am content with the way the day turned out. It has been snowing since the middle of Friday night and 8 inches have accumulted.  Even though the main roads are clear, the side roads are a mess and cars are getting stuck all over te place.  We could have all stayed put today but we are a family who love to eat and be together so a little bit of shovelling wasn’t going to stop us. The cafe was going to close early in honour of Remembrance Day but we were able to catch one of their last tables.  The staff (all female on this day) are an absolutely a delight.  Their smiling faces and kind gestures made
