Review Browns Socialhouse Kildonan Green - Winnipeg

Wait was rather long for food also wait for refilled drinks was long and not offered only when reached out to waitress. Ordered dry ribs and calamari and then only told after a almost 20 min wait that they are out of it. After a finding something else i would be ok with insted i decided on Sesame Ginger Gyoza .. they then said oh were out of that too. Did not place another order after that. A friend at the table ordered a burger ,the Gravy ordered with the fries was cold and like jelly. Also waited 40 min for an order of Parmesan fries and the Spicy fried chicken/pickles .. Then finnaly after arrival and a few pieces eaten,they found that the chicken really tastes like nothing. Lastly other friend at the table ordered spicy tuna roll... The rice was way over cooked causing the rolls to be super pasty/gummy Overall was a terrible experience .. This is Browns located off Plessis. Have not had a bad experience at the Main street location.

We had a good table, perfect size for our little group and accommodated the car seat. My Blackened Chicken Caesar was to die for! So much flavor.. plenty of food too!! The photo does not do it justice!! Yum!

Really poor experience tonight. Wife wasn’t asked what side she wanted so she got fries which she can’t eat instead of a salad. The cheese on my nachos was broiled to a crisp. When I mentioned this to my waitress, she defensively and argumentatively said they have to be cooked this way, totally dismissing my comments that they aren’t usually overcooked like this. Every chip I tried to eat snapped off because they were so overcooked. And my glass sat empty for fifteen minutes without a refill. When told that our meal was unsatisfactory, the waitress returned and confronted my wife with “how come you didn’t tell me this when I came by to ask how your food is?”, almost to suggest that she was making it up, but she only asked after telling me that my nachos were perfectly fine and we were both in a state of shock after being treated this way. They did comp us the half eaten nachos and took a few bucks off my wife’s meal. She made it sound like she was doing us a big favour. I’ve been to this restaurant many times and have never had a server argue with me and completely dismiss my concerns in this manner. I still can’t really believe this happened. Best part though? My wife saw her glaring at us as we left the parking lot. I told her no way she did that, but she insists that her eyes were locked onto us as we drove by and went around the corner. It must have killed her to try and make nice to us.

It was alright. We reserved a table for 6 but the table and seats were barely big enough for 5 grown men let alone 6. I was seated at our reserved table before the rest of the group arrived and it took ten minutes before the server came to the table to offer me a drink. After that things went ok. They did mix up a couple of the orders and didn't prepare one person's steak as they had indicated but he accepted the dish anyway to avoid causing an issue in front of the group. I wasn't expecting much here and they met that expectation. I wouldn't come here to entertain a group but it's probably fine for drinks and finger food.

Absolute worst experience I have had in a restaurant. I have worked in customer service for over 11 years. My family and I have been here many times. We all understand when things can go wrong, but when someone orders a chicken entree and it comes with no chicken on it, order a pasta bowl that is cold, order loaded nachos that literally have no cheese on them and we’re cold and hard, and fish tacos that were cold. We just wanted the food we ordered and for them to not be cold. We were nice about it and waited. My sister waited almost 30 minutes while everyone else ate. The pasta literally came back cold again… she tells the manager and she rolled her eyes at her. Somehow it comes back only 5 minutes later steaming hot, after the 3rd time. I would bet that it was the same exact dish with the hard noodles that was cold, that everyone including the staff touched testing the temperature. After all of this and the attitude of the waitress, I did not give my typical 20% tip because this experience was honestly completely unbelievable, but regardless of everything I still left a tip for my bill. My grandmas bill the lady did not give her full change back but kept it. I told my grandma that I left my tip. The waitress immediately said out loud to me “no you did not”. Excuse me? This is the worst experience I’ve had in a restaurant and will be the last time I go here. You got your tip from me that was deserved and also when you decided to not give my grandma her full money back and even after everything with her attitude and then this disgusting comment I shouldn’t have left anything. You all should be ashamed for how you treated your customers especially after messing up so many times, and then adding your attitude and eye rolls on top of it. Absolutely disgusting customer service.

My family enjoyed our meals, the service, and the ambiance of the restaurant. Too bad you don’t make pizza anymore. It was a family favourite. Still there are many different choices, with many gluten-free choices.

The impossible"tm" hollywood burger was below average and the price was ludicrous. The watermellon mint martini was good but still its not a 4 star restaurant. They wont allow me to do 2.5 so 2 it is

Enjoyed some apps and drinks with a friend on the patio and it was really nice! We didn't have to wait long considering it was full when we got there. Service was good and prompt, but also must consider there was no one inside. These three apps were delicious although the bigger pieces of Cauliflower had a bad taste similar to alcohol, not sure if it was the batter or something else. A bit pricey for small portions but overall was decent.

The ancient grain and kale salad was disappointing. Wilted greens and all in all not fresh. The waitress wasn’t linterested in getting me a fresh salad. Soggy cucumbers, soggy kale. Just all around poor. For the price of $12.95 I expected more than a cup and a half of salad. Most likely won’t be going back.

Amazing place! Staff is always awesome. The manager, Justin, is the best! Always quality food, great beer selection and chill atmosphere. LOVE this restaurant, highly recommend.

Nice place to eat, great staff and super good food.. Quality is excellent! Based on quality of food you would think it would be alot more pricey... Nice to have a fresh new restaraunt in transcona.. Def a hidden gem! And my new favorite drink is their peach bellini!

I love the food choices here. Slightly different then elsewhere which makes it unique, yet something for everyone. Had the soup/salad combo chose the cowboy salad and Thai soup..both I would have again. Prices are reasonable too. Service was pretty good..we always were looked after drink wise

Everything is lovely here: the place, the food, the ambiance and the staff. They gave me a flower today for Mother's day. It's now my new favorite place in Winnipeg ❤️

2 stars for friendly staff.Was excited about opening of brand new restaurant but was quickly disenchanted. The wait was long. People that came after us were already served. Our one drink was sent to wrong table. The fish dish was smaller than stated. The tarter sauce wasn't tarter sauce. Fish was good and fries. Chicken wings weren't spicy. The coleslaw tasted bland. We tipped the waitress because they need it like anyone else and was friendly. These new restaurants are Strategically placed in Brand New Booming neighbourhoods means it will be busy and also means you must meet the demands. Blaming it on the excuse of the holiday season doesn't cut it in should actually be prepared for the situation. A Socialhouse is an Irish/UK origin as more of those dishes are suggested. Not browbeating but advice for the longhaul. Paying a highprice for dishes should meet the demands in flavour. More B.C. dishes would be good too. Would I go back is highly Debatetable...

After being invited back to give them another chance on feb 14 they completly did av180 !from saturday night. Thank you Tyler,Trevor, Jay and Vanessa Thumbs up

Dined with friends Thursday 11/27/14 - wonderful! We were greeted promptly by the friendly hostess & welcomed by the manager. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Our waitress was super friendly, service was perfect. The food was excellent. I ordered the Blackened Fish Burger, the halibut was perfectly done, the condiment delicious & the slaw on the burger a great touch. The bun was very fresh. The perfect amount of fries accompanied my meal. We were served and left within 1.5 hours. I can't wait to return & try something new! Great job Browns, welcome to our neighborhood!

Meh...I wish I could say I am super impressed with Browns, because they are in my neighbourhood. But I'm just not that impressed. Service is never that great, everything is overpriced (nachos are half the size of everywhere else at the same price), and you don't even get a full pint of beer, it's only 14 oz with a high price. Sigh...

Stopped in last night after shopping to watch the Jets game and have a couple drinks and appetizers. The place is fantastic, the chicken quesadillas are to die for as well as your hot wings!! Your guacamole is soooo good!! Want to come back Thursday and repeat!!

Great atmosphere, good service and an eclectic menu with artfully presented, great tasting and reasonably priced food. Definitely try the Dragon bowl or Cowboy Salad!

Never had a bad time here, it's close to home and we walk over to enjoy social hour. The food has not been disappointing either.
