Review Cora's Breakfast - Winnipeg

Ryan Klassen
Great service and a seemingly endless variety for breakfast. Most come with fresh fruit. The coffee is great as well. Can be lineups during peak hours. The Waverly location is fairly large so no lineups for us on a Sunday at noon. Highly recommend!

Hubby and I had a most enjoyable meal. I need crutches right now and have a full leg splint. We were able to sit comfortably in a booth. Our server Elizabeth was kind and more than cared for our needs. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back again!

Amazing place for breakfast. Food tasted very good and the quantity was more than fulfilling for one person and the staffs were very welcoming. They had a great ambience too. Food ordered: 1. Brunch burger with poutine (don’t have a picture of the poutine cause I started eating it before clicking the pictures) 2. Surprise French Toast (the single picture) 3. Strawberry Smoothie 4. Mango Smoothie

This is by far my favourite Cora's restaurant in the city. We travel all the way from St. Vital for brunch. They service is always to notch, the food made exactly the way you want, and not to mention hot, fresh and delicious!

This review is specific to Cora's on Waverley. The food was well prepared, waitress was nice and clearly passionate about her job. Restaurant seemed understaffed, trouble with keeping water/coffee cups full. Otherwise a good experience.

Very disappointed First time trying this restaurant. My husband ate in and ordered me breakfast for takeout. I ordered the eggs benedict with smoked salmon. On the menu it said "generous" serving of fruit. I did not get fruit. I only got a small portion of potatoes, yogurt and what looked like a tiny piece of fudge. I really don't get the fudge addition. We called the restaurant and they said we could come back to get the fruit. Thats fine but what a nuisance. Im not driving 25 minutes back to the restaurant. I give it one star as the eggs were cooked perfect. I probably won't eat here again.

. amazing food and amazing service. FYI.. GPS 2 times.. sent us to Taylor St for some reason.

Marci was amazing, the food was large portions and delicious. I would definitely recommend. Tables were comfortable to sit at, and we’ll worth the drive to the other side of the city. Great food, great service. Best lunch date in a while

One of the BEST breakfast joints in Winnipeg! So many awesome dishes, and the Smoothies...to die for!

Cora's is always fantastic. A bevy of breakfast items all served superbly & of course...fresh fruit! I've been to many of the Cora franchises and none have ever disappointed.
Belle Bête
I love this place! I typically don't get around to going often, just due to the hours of operation, but the food has never disappointed. I only wish they were open later.

Been here numerous times and the wait is always longer than expected. The food as usual is good and the presentation makes the food really looks better. The place needs expansion in my own opinion. Parking can be a challenge but we managed.
The Heavy Hitters
Pretty good chain restaurant for a fairly pricey greasy breakfast. Menu is large. The Brie and mushroom and smoked salmon Benedicts are really good. Love the sides of fruit, they are pretty generous and beautifully presented. Mrs. Hitter had a fruit breakfast crepe and it was pretty soggy and the custard sauce not great. There is a breakfast burrito wrapped in a crepe Mr. Hitter likes a lot and he isn't a huge breakfast guy. The lunch offerings leave much to be desired. The hash browns are quite good for a chain. We can't comment on the breakfast meats because we aren't crazy about breakfast meats anyways. Worth checking out for breakfast if you can't make it to Stella's.

I don't get how everyone says how good the food is!? Does no one in Winnipeg know why good breakfast food is?<br/><br/>First off the service is slow, and inattentive. The menu is absolutely bizarre, with item like breakfast hot dogs. Very weird. And finally the food is not good at all. The Sausages have zero flavor, the bacon is greasy, and the eggs 100% come out of a jug. <br/><br/>This place is gross.<br/><br/>Do yourself a favor and just go to Stella's.

Celebrated my B-Day with a Cora's brunch! One word = delicious! Love the variety of fresh summer fruits. I had the 1990's Harvest. Only criticism is my egg was over done (ordered over easy). My sis had Grilled Ham&Cheese Crepe which she enjoyed. Fast&friendly service! I enjoy a hearty portion & you certainly get what you pay for! Couldn't finish it all.

Food was delicious! But....<br/>- waitress was curt/short, seemed to rush us <br/>- I think the sausages made me sick :(<br/>- waitress said she could swap cheeses, did not mention extra charge for it<br/>- creamers/milk brought out for coffee were room temperature (should be cold)<br/><br/>Will still come back because food is good, but will hope for better service next time.
The Hangry Accountant
Went for breakfast this morning and dined on smoked salmon eggs Benedict. It did not disappoint and the sides are not to be skipped. Absolutely loved the hashbrowns and fruit. If you're looking for a sweet caffeinated beverage the Moccachino was delicious. The service was friendly and we didn't feel rushed at any point. Will definitely be going back.

Before I ordered I knew that I have to go back. This place has a huge breakfast menu. I was there with a large group and everything looked great.
Melody
Came here with family when they were in town visiting. Everyone's food looked fantastic.  I got the pancakes with cream cheese and cherries. This dish was good, but not fantastic and I found the pancakes to be a bit dry.  I would suggest they use more of the cherry sauce so the dish is less dry.

Not sure why I've continued to go back here numerous times. Perhaps it's because it's a popular place, which makes me think there must be something good about it and I decided to give it another chance.....and another, and another. I go when I crave crepes, but the crepes here never satisfy. The last visit I ordered the April 89 with custard. I'm sorry, but whatever they served, it wasn't custard. It was white, watery, and tasteless. Among the fruits inside the crepe were cantaloupe and honeydew. They tasted like water, not sweet whatsoever. I suppose it's because they are out of season, but the watery flavourless melons combined with the watery flavourless 'custard' made for a very disappointing dish. (Picture below)<br/><br/>My gf ordered 'Jo Construction'. It wasn't much better than mine. The 'roasted potatoes' were anemic and cold, not browned at all. The sausages were mushy inside, and were also cold. The bacon were three of the smallest, thinnest slices I have ever encountered. The eggs were okay, cooked to order. <br/><br/>Another thing I noticed was that the take-out containers were stored on a bottom shelf which had a broom, dust pan, and garbage right beside it. (Picture below). Maybe I'm just a germaphobe, but I found this gross. Why have the containers face up? Why by the floor beside a broom, garbage can, etc? People are going to put their food in those containers, who knows what could've fallen in them? <br/><br/>I doubt I will ever return to this establishment. Perhaps the St.Boniface location is better, it definitely can't be any worse.

I feel myself falling out of love with Chez Cora more with each visit. The food seems hit and miss as well as the attentiveness of the service. 1990s Harvest (French-toasted brioche topped with egg and bacon) and various yogourt/granola combinations form the hits. Basic breakfasts, scrambles, and the new breakfast burritos (flavorless!) stack up as misses. Lackluster breakfast potatoes, rubbery thick crepes, and the white bread they masquerade as sourdough leave me wanting. <br/><br/>I'm guessing the sweet stacks of pancakes, French toast, and fruit drenched waffles are where it's at but those items are rarely my bag. Service ranges from mildly pleasant to indifferent. <br/><br/>Atmosphere wise it's tough to find a bad table here. It's not quiet by any stretch, but if you enjoy the anonymity that comes with breakfast in a bustling restaurant, you will be satisfied. Being able to call 30 minutes ahead to get your name on the list at the door is fantastic. I wouldn't stomach the wait otherwise.
Leo_the_King
This is a great place for brunch and has a shorter lineup than Stella's does. I recommend that you call in advance so your can reduce the wait even more though... The food is good, if a little pricy but the portions are big and the presentation is really cool!
Robinwright13
This place is a great place to go for breakfast or brunch with the family or friends.<br/>The eggs Benedict with brie is the way to go!!<br/>There is always an option for the healthy eater but also options for the meat-n-potato crowd.<br/>Coras juice is delicious as well.<br/>Good price for the yummy Sunday morning eggs and stuff.
Mina
Crepe's rubbery and tasted bland. It can get really busy at times so service was kinda slow. Food was okay. I like their Tuna Sandwich though.
Christopher Moltisanti
Slow service and a waitress who was angry that I didn't speak French. The food was fairly regular breakfast food (eggs, bacon, toast) that cost $3 more than it should have.
Lillian
Seriously disappointing. The food came out wrong and had to be returned to kitchen. When they finally came out with the right orders they were cold. In addition although my order contained no meat it was somehow soaked in grease. I would never go back.
Cyrtanada
Coras. Slow service but great food
Pat Richards
Health conscious. I love going here for breakfast, it just feels like home and for someone health conscious, the amount of fruit available is great!
Denny
Spinach Cheese Omelet Crepes with Hollindaise Sauce. Savory goodness!
Moises.joanne
Horrible service. I came to Cora's with my family to celebrate my birthday. What a mistake. The food was ok but the service was so disappointing. Our server was so horrible. She said two things during our visit. 1-what do you want to drink? and 2-what do you want to eat? That's it. She never came back to ask how the food was or if we needed anything else. Not even to bring our bill. The cashier tried to make it better by giving me vouchers for free smoothies on our next visit. There is absolutely no way I am returning to restaurant that treats its customers like this. Worst service ever. Try employing servers with customer service skills.
Lisa Stevens
Suicide Misson. Do not come here if you are hungry. It's been almost 90 mins, no food in site. I have stayed away for a few years because of the line ups but thought a week day would be better. No such luck
Lora
The fruit is never ripe enough - bland. The portions are HUGE; I guess that's a good thing, but I can never finish a meal!
Allison
AN EXCELLENT place to have breakfast with your Family!! Service was wonderful, they are all so nice and welcoming, food was absolutely Delicious. We will definitely be going there again!!
Jenna
Love it!. They've got THE BEST chicken melt ive ever had. Get it every time with potatoes instead of fruit with onions and mushrooms and a raspberry smoothie. If you are going on the weekend be prepared for a wait!
Pgbrass
Cold Food. Too often cold food when delivered. Eggs were room temperature this morning (ie. 22C when body temp is 38C so they seemed cold) the butter on the toast wasn't even melted. When the food is delivered warm it is quite good but there is no assurance that it will be warm on delivery. As often as not the food is cold. The management really needs to do something about this. I have spoken with them before about the temperature of their food and they are always apologetic and want to comp the meal but they don't address the problem. Time to change the management.
Ross
NOPE!. When asked how I would like my eggs I said sunny side up. An HOUR later my dish came. I got ONE scrambled egg.

Took an HOUR to get our breakfast when we were one of 6 tables at 7am this morning (Sunday). What did I order? A crepe and cut fruit. What did my son order? Star breakfast.....strawberries, cream cheese, and granola. We've been waiting for 15 mins for our bill now. NOT HAPPY. We won't be coming back. Terrible service for a restaurant that's not even 10% full.
Sandra
Incredibly disappointed. My boyfriend and i will often go to coras for breakfast and we always get the eggs benedict- perhaps the best i've had in the city..<br/><br/>we arrived in the mid afternoon and decided to try the lunch menu. HUGE MISTAKE. he had the pulled pork grilled cheese- dry, barely any toppings, and quite bland. I had the quiche with soup/salad and took 4 or 5 bites before sending it back saying I was "full". <br/><br/>Definitely a breakfast-only restaurant.
FoodieMcFooderson
No complaints. Pretty good service, pretty good food, pretty good price.<br/><br/>I'd go back.
Misfile
Alright. The meal we had on Saturday was alright. We were situated in the back of the place, and aside from our waitress appearing to be a little busy and absent minded things went smoothly. The crepe I had was good, I had to send it back though because I originally ordered the hazelnut and not the regular custard. A simple misunderstanding, so I'm not worried. The boyfriend liked his, and I tried some of the hollendaise sauce from his plate, and I have to admit. It was really good. Not a kind of sauce I normally like, and can only handle in tiny portions.
Hunter
Enjoyable. Yes, it does get busy so be prepared for that aspect.<br/>On this visit, my first, I had the Jo Construction; toast, 3 eggs, 3 sausages, 3 strips of bacon on a heap of yummy hash browns and a bit of fruit. It was a great brunch. I sampled my partner's Eggs Ben et Dictine and I will have them next time! The servers were very attentive, probably the fast I've ever been witness to. The portions are large and a lot of the dishes are served with huge portions of fruit. Good for what ails ya.<br/>Somebody said Sal's would be a better choice? Sheesh, if ya don't strap the helmet on tighter, it serves no purpose!<br/>I'll give 'em 9/10 this time.<br/>Cheers

Demanda reveiw. The Dregs....Who the hell do you think you are.. these are everyday families out for a .meal...You have a right to.to criticize the food .. Not people!!! Did you stand up give those people your name and tell them too their faces....thought not ... Excellent place for breakfast - great selection and very healthy feeling. Most entrees come with a giant pile of fruit which is fresh and delicious and very well presented!
The Oakwood Cafe
Good Times. Every Tuesday some of my friends and I go to Cora's for a bite after our morning meeting. <br/><br/>I find the menu refreshingly different with some great twists on the classics. The prices are fair and the portions are pretty good. We've always enjoyed our breakfasts and our service has been very good as well.<br/><br/>Good job Cora's!
Sasa
Not worth the price. Both my husband and I had a difficult time making a selection. The meals did not feel well rounded. A single fruit crepe feels more like dessert, and less like breakfast. I had a crepe omelette and the side was toast and fruit...for the price I thought it should have included a meat side. My husbands orange juice was $3.45....it was small and nothing special. The food tasted ok, and service was good. The place was very busy, and I can understand the appeal because its different from other more generic spots. I just won't be rushing back anytime soon.

Great consistent breakfast. I usually order the gargantuan feast, and for the price it's a absolutely huge meal. Great variety on one plate from eggs and bacon to beans to creton spread. I love the inclusion of fruit with nearly every meal. <br/><br/>The wait is usually 20+ minutes on weekends, so plan for that. Once seated the service has been quite good. Only complaint would be that the waitin area is very small for the number of froups usually waiting. OK in fair weather to wait outside but a pain once the temp turns down.
Teveretr
Alright service. Great smoothie. Got the banana buster crepe. Holy smokes I couldn't even eat have of it because they must have used an entire jar of nutella.
Sheri
The food was alright. Nothing that I would rave about. The service stinks. I have been here a few times and each time the service is almost rude. I will not be returning.
Chris Voth
Sunshine panini crepe was amazing. Workers push the smoothies too much. Fruit was soggy but plentiful.
Gamergrl888
Worst breakfast ever!. Cora's is crap. It's like a glorified version of perkins. We ordered breakfast, and the bacon came out so overcooked that it was shiny, and broke against our plates like glass. The hashbrowns were way underdone and the eggs were not cooked as I prefer. ( basted hard) It's not hard to cook eggs, I'm not a chef in a restaurant but somehow manage to do my eggs the correct way. It's not rocket science people. If you can't cook to specification then get a job doing something else. Upon paying, we told the manager how the food was and she stated ' you should have mentioned it earlier'. My reply was simple- ' if that's your standard, then why would anything change?' Am I really to expect better food when both plates came out the same way? She offered a 25% discount, but I will never return. I make wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better food than that!
Alison
Iffy. I've been there several times. I love the food. I've had the fruit platter many times as well as the egg benedict with asparagus. Had others that was just as good. The service varies quite a bit. Asked for no melons for my fruit platter, its a preference on my part, back end gave it to me anyways. Waitress took it back, all they did was remove it, and didn't bother to arrange it back nicely, it was an obvoius removal (does take awhile to assemble, but still). Another time, I had to ask 4 times for milk for my tea. First time, he didn't want to because apparently I already had some beside me. Nope, all cream, I don't drink cream with my tea. Had to remind him a few more times afterwards until another waitress came asked if we needed anything, had to ask for milk, she was ok, took 4 steps over to an employee only section and brought it over. Same day, had to ask 3 times for an extra plate, never got it.<br/><br/>Went another time, 4 of us in total, asked us what we wanted for drinks, my husband, a friend and I got to say what we wanted, then he walked away, poor Kevin was left out. Our waiter apparently was the most popular waiters there. Hmmm, makes me wonder.
Demanda
The worst. Do not go here ever, especially on the weekend. You will find yourself dining amongst the dregs of the restaurant industry - screaming babies, children being disruptive, and people who just can't get over heaping servings of cut fruit. It feels like dining at the zoo. I suppose if you have kids, this is the place to go and blend in. If you want a delicious breakfast, this is not the place. Their omelettes are terrible, and anything resembling a decent toast/egg/meat/hash breakfast is simply not going to happen. You can order all kinds of crepes loaded with cheap creams, coulis, hollondaise, whipped cream from a can, and of course fruit salad. They are all bad. At some point, you will be forced to come here with your family for brunch. I'm sorry. The only consolation is that they serve decent black coffee.
GluttonBros.
Turned that smile upside down. Having heard great things via word of mouth and having seen the lineup for seating pour out of the door on Sundays I had been looking forward to sampling Cora's for quite some time. Cora's can be quite busy for weekend breakfast service so it is recommended that one account for time waiting in line on such a visitation. In terms of the menu, while they did have plenty of options the dishes showcasing breakfast meats (Ie. Steak, sausage, ham, side bacon, back bacon) were few in comparison to the rest of the menu. As a result, those who do not particuarly enjoy sweet dishes for breakfast may be disappointed by the menu. The dishes ordered by my party were the Rosemary's Sunday and the Cora's special.<br/><br/>Rosemary's Sunday consists of strips of bacon, two eggs, a side of fruit, breakfast potatoes, toast and blueberry crepes. Although it may seem like very basic components which are routinely prepared by many restaurants it was overall quite disappointing. The bacon was overdone and burnt, the breakfast potatoes had the mouthfeel of a boiled potato and was grossly underseasoned, and the blueberry crepes were very rubbery and unappetizing. The side of fruit consisted of a cantaloupe and pineapple neither of which were particularly fresh nor juicy.<br/><br/>Cora's special consisted of two eggs, few strips of bacon, a single sausage, a single slice of ham, a side of fruit, breakfast potatoes, toast and a regular crepe. Due to fact that many of the components are shared by the Rosemary's Sunday dish Cora's special suffered a similar fate. The crepes were even more unpalatable because the crepes in Rosemary's Sunday at least had the blueberries to add a hint of flavor.<br/><br/>Our server kept our waters and coffee filled but was absent after we had finished and were waiting for the bill. It took an additional 20 minutes to find her and flag her down.<br/><br/>Overall, I was disappointed by Cora's and would likely not return of my own volition.

Another great Cora's. Not quite on par with the place in St.B, but I've had breakfast and lunch here on several occasions and always leave happy. <br/><br/>Good alternative to other similar breakfast restaurants in the city due to the bright atmosphere and plentiful amount of fruit served with your plate.
Chandra
Yummy Breakfast !. I love this place for a goood morning Breakfast (MEAL) !!<br/>The skillet comes with all good veggies and fruits .... just sooo healthy !! It really makes my day ! Thanks Cora !
Diane
Best breakfasts!. This place is hands down my favorite place to go for breakfast. i love all the fruit you get! the prices are reasonable for a healthy meal, and the portions are quite large. the staff has always been very friendly. my favorites are the eggs benedict with asparagus, and "peggys poached," which comes with cottage cheese, 1 poached egg, toast and fruit!
Yich
One of the most overrated restaurants I've ever been to. Nothing is really special, would much rather go to Stella's Cafe or even Salisbury House!
Patbingsu
Great potential, too bad the staff are so hassled.. I don't know. I've had a few good experiences at Cora's in St. Boniface, so I'm not ready to write it off completely. The best parts are the colourful decor and fruit all over the place. It's really a nice feeling for breakfast on a special day.<br/><br/>But... the staff always seem so rushed. Of course I expect to wait for a table, but we've had so much trouble paying our bill. There's confusion about who's doing what, and it seems they're so busy seating people, that they leave us waiting to pay for way too long. I also don't appreciate the way they constantly tried to "upsell" . Of course a bit of chocolate dip goes well with fruit, but it seemed the list of things you could add to the meal went on and on. Eventually it put a bad taste in my mouth. And so did the hot sauce, which I did ask for. If you can see that the lid is covered in crud while you're bringing it to the table, at least halfheartedly wipe it off a bit. I couldn't even open the lid, and by then I had lost a bit of my appetite. <br/><br/>Cora's seems like a good idea, and I really like the concept. But our recent experiences there have not been well-executed. I'd rather go somewhere that's not so hyped-up and busy, where the staff have the time to do a good job.
Canadian Teabone
Refreshing. Second time eating here, jucie is fresh, as is the fruit and main dish. Have no problem paying for a well made fresh breaskfast, nice to see this product from a franchise!
Evangeline
Disappointed. I really wanted to like Cora's. I was looking forward to trying it, but the food was a disappointment. Service was great, and quick (it was noonish on a Monday, so one would hope so). I ordered the buckwheat crepe w spinach and cheese. It was cold (from the fridge?), overcooked (crispy, dark, hard edges), there was no discernible spinach, and it was filled with ice-cold bits of grated cheddar. A nice white cheddar, I should add, but the dish itself was terribly executed. My husband had the salmon salad - a small, really, really overcooked piece of salmon topped with a huge mound of raw cooking onions - so strong-smelling it made everyone's eyes water! And the strawberries and mango and fruity things decorating the plate just didn't work - like the worst of oddball 1980s food combinations.
Sebastyan
Will never go back! Overpriced with bad service to compliment it too..
Some Fries With That
At one stage I liked Cora's, but came to a different opinion. This was after a number of very slow breakfasts (we are talking of 3 refills of coffee before the cold food arrived) and an occasion when the staff put egg-based sauce all over my son's dish after being told he was allergic to egg. I now realise it is cheaper, as quick, and you get hotter food if you stock up on bread, eggs and fruit. Then you cook your own. You can even get 'Brownie Points' by cooking something nice for others too.
Gracie
I always get the waffle! So yummy, and in a brat and always get it with strawberries, bananas, pineapples and grapes and the servers always get it right :) with custard and whipped cream! Their cinnamon brouche is amazing too :) I
Master P
Wow.

I can see why so many people like coras but I find I'd rather have great food and more choices for the price I'm paying. Have had better 4 dollar breakfasts at smittys. Cute decor though
Blueberry
I recommend their eggs Benedict.. This is my favorite breakfast place! I adore the sprightly interior, the colorful dishes and the overall atmosphere. Other reviewers complain about grease but I've eaten there more then 10 times and my dishes were never greasy.<br/>The first time I dined there, I was impressed with the beautiful pictures in the menu. I was even more impressed when the plate I got was just as lovely.<br/>On the weekend there is a bit of a lineup but it's worth the wait!
Melissa Archer
I really like cora's in st.b but this location sucks. The wait was too long, the survice was bad, and the fruit was old.
LovesFood_204
Tried to love it but can't. I have been here more than a few times and it's always the same story....long wait to get seated, mediocre food to take home.<br/><br/>Each time I have been here, I have ordered something different and was not 100% satified with my meal. Either it wasn't what I expected or it just wasnt good.<br/><br/>This is very disappointing because I am a big breakfast lover. And I have tried various things on the menu in hopes that the last thing I ordered was not for me.
Diner
Menu needs an update and needs to be scaled back. There's so many options it's overwhelming.

SCRUMPTIOUS!!!. OH MY, first I have to say it was a little pricey for my budget (or lack of) but well WORTH the money and food experience!<br/><br/>I had the 1990s harvest and all I can say is "I'd died and gone to heaven" it was so delicious and I even left 3/4s of the other half of the awesome cinnamon bun - just too full. Everything from the poached egg to the bacon strips were just perfect and no sweet sauces on the bun or the half a plate of fresh fruit either - so you tasted what you got!!! And I had the Mango/Banana smoothie that was so SMOOTH, light and delicious too. <br/><br/>Needless to say my FIRST TIME here was a raving success and I'm kinda ticked at my friend Florence for bringing me here. But not really, as I now have an awesome restaurant for future treats!
Intrepid Diner
Great Breakfast. I have been to Cora's several times and I have always enjoyed the experience. The service has always been prompt and attentive and I have always enjoyed my meals.<br/><br/>The decor is quirky yet charming. Same with the menu. The house specialty is crepes and they do a very good job. A lot of their dishes feature a large portion of fruit that I have always found to be fresh and contain a nice variety of different fruits.<br/><br/>My only complaint is that the average beverage selection, other than coffee, is a bit pricey.
Cathy
Yummy Brunch. I've always had a good meal at Cora's but it is a bit pricey. They have some healthier menu items, which is nice. However, there are other cheaper breakfasts to be had which taste just as good.
Merix
Coras remains one of my favorite bruch restaurants. It offers a colorful and bright decor to math it's colorful food. The sweet crepes are where Cora shines: the summer of 69 with assorted fruits or the waffle are my favorites. I agree with the precious reviewer that if your going to advertise fresh orange juice you should deliver instead of the tropicana juce they give you. Besides that small point, if you put that aside i'd give Cora the number two spot next to Kawaii Crepes.
JenW
Could take it or leave it. Really just another greasy spoon advertised as otherwise. I do love breakfast though, so I can't completely hate it. Overpriced for what it is, I prefer Pancake House.
Cori
I love their menu. Lots of pictures to help you decide. The best part is all the fresh fruit.
DineoutGal
Could be better. It's a fairly healthy menu so it scores some points there. but the food is very mediocre. I had the "rosemary's sunday" which is two eggs, bacon, two blueberry crepes with a side of fruit. the eggs and bacon are no different from any other place but I found the blueberry crepes to be very rubbery! That's disappointing since Cora's seems to serve a pretty big selection of crepes on their menu. The "fresh" OJ wasn't freshly squeezed which is what I expected when you write "Fresh O.J." - tasted like Tropicana from your grocer's fridge.
Dennis
Where's the grease?. I hate this restaurant. There is nothing wrong with the food It is prepared well I'll give it that but everything I ate was bland. If you like greasy spoon stay away from this place.
Tim
Worth checking out for brunch. Every time I travel to Montreal I wind up at Chez Cora's at least once for the Western size breakfasts. You can't get a big plate of meat, eggs, potatoes, pancakes and fruit anywhere else on the island! Ironically, the Cora's in Winnipeg are not as generous as their eastern counterparts, but the food is fantastically fresh and decent. Staff are quick and friendly but usually hurried off their feet dealing with the perpetual lineups. There are wide assortments of delicious crepes, omelets, quiches and pancakes/waffles all served with a dizzying array of fresh fruits and sides. If you don't mind the inevitable wait for everything from a table to the cheque and aren't afraid of refilling your own and your neighbors coffee from time to time it's worth a trip.

Good times. I went to Coras for th first time a few months ago and it was awesome ... I had a savory breakfast along with a smoothie and a small swet dessert ... *drools*

Fantastic Dining Experience!. When I lived in Montreal, I always had fantastic experiences with the Chez Cora's. Now in Winnipeg, I have the same experience. Consistantly hot, well prepared food with nice plating. Excellent service. Sometimes a long wait to get it in but it's worth it.
Carson Samson
Breakfast at Cora's. Yum yum!
Mikey Southside
Consistantly good.
Lori
Fresh!. I hate going to breakfast places and getting wilted mushy fruit in a cup sitting in water. I pay how much for that? For a tiny bit more go where the fruit is freshly cut and abundant. My daughter is a picky eater and usually eats less than half her meal at restaurants. At Cora's she is the first one to finish her entire meal.
Jayme
It's a really quaint, really busy breakfast restaurant, known for fresh fruit and homemade comfort foods. I've been to Chez Cora a few times and always loved it, but I've never been as a foodie adult, so a visit was necessary. Cora's is CRAZY busy on Sunday mornings at 10:30. Understandable, because that's like.. prime breakfast time, but it is a zoo in there. I took pictures! (actually, Jordan did, because I'm too much of a pansy.) That gives you a general idea of how packed it was in there. While waiting in line, we discovered that they do "call-aheads". It's like making yourself a spot in line, you can call when you leave home, and you'll most likely only have to wait a couple minutes for a table. I will definitely be taking advantage of that next time, and avoid waiting for 25 minutes in the cram
