Review Ye's - Winnipeg

Parvez Fattah
A very good buffet restaurant. Most of the food I tried were good. Kids loved the wide range of choices as well. Good distancing between tables. Was not too busy this night but that is probably due to the rising Covid numbers. Free and dedicated parking for patrons.

Decent variety. Acceptable cooking for a lot of the dishes. No crabs or steak on the menu. Grilled salmon was not good though and I strongly recommend against this one. I'd come back for a sushi crave. Service was great and place was clean.

Ye's Buffet was seriously worth the penny as you have a opportunity to enjoy many varieties for a fixed price. This place is great if you can devour more than a average human being.

There is not enough parking in the parking lot close to the restaurant. It was a busy Sunday night at 5pm and when we left at 6ish the parking lot was even more crazy. The restaurant itself is large and the staff is great. The restaurant is clean. The food is surprisingly good and quite tasty. There is a large selection at least at dinner. I enjoyed their sushi, sashimi, negri, miso soup, bacon wrapped asparagus, bbq chicken and the two desserts. The deep fried chicken was under whelming. Overall it was a good night out, I will go back.

Ate here to celebrate our Christmas dinner with co-workers 😊 I would say the food selection is very massive because they have alot of choices for Appetizers, Entre, to Desserts 👍 My favorite so far is the Mango Sushi ❤❤❤ Idk it has that good Mango sauce and I fell inlove with it 👍😊👍 Definitely going back for Lunch to see if they have different selection. So See ya guys soon maybe after the restrictions!

Lovely food and its unlimited buffet. Highly recommend this place.

Great buffet restaurant. There is not enough parking for the size of the restaurant. We got there just before 5 pm on a very busy sunday evening - the parking lot was overflowing. I ended parking on a snow pile or berm on the left side of the open spot, so my car was tilted to the right slightly - couldn't see any other open spots. When we left around 6pm there were 4 cars in a standstill in the lot with no where to park. Took a few minutes to maneuver out of our spot and exit. The food was very good. Really liked the bacon wrapped asparagus, miso soup and wide selection of sushi - sashimi, nigiri and some rolls. The BBQ spare ribs were delicious - meat was falling off the bone. The staff were friendly and kept our drinks filled up. Really enjoyed our meal here. The tiramisu cake was very yummy.

It's a buffet with a huge selection. As a whole they have some pretty great food. Lunch is definitely best bang for your buck but dinner has some pretty great dishes available if you enjoy seafood. Decent selection of sushi as well. Haven't had any issues after eating at this restaurant and seems to be fairly clean and tidy.

Food was horrible and dry... service was horrible.. we weren’t finished eating and the server was at the table with our bill.. I looked at the bill and was charged 3 adult rates.. came to front seen that children under 12 yrs was $10. I pointed out to the hostess she then asked me to provide ID. I questioned ID for children my son is 12 a s my girl is 10. She then asked for a health card to confirm their ages. I got one refund however I have to being back my health card ,which this one time I did not have on me, to confirm my son is 12 to be refunded. Absolutely ridiculous and my family and I will not be returning back. Experience was horrible overall.

Some of the food was dried out, particularly the chicken dishes. If you have to eat gluten free there isn't much choice in the meats or dessert. Lots of choices. If you are a senior you have to tell them or you won't get the discount. We are 70 and 75 and had to ask. Lot's of room and comfortable seating. Sushi could be better. The raw salmon is cut too thick and not sure of the quality.

First buffet in Winnipeg where I've gone up for two plates of just meat, and had nothing on the second plate the same as the first! Bravo! ďż˝

Best place I've been to in years.....buffet or otherwise. Really nice atmosphere, food was fresh and very tasty. Wha5 got me the most was as soon as I finished and pushed the plate away, someone came and grabbed it instantly. My only flaw is the men's washroom.....1 toilet and 2 urinals. For that capacity....not enough.

Good buffet. Big spread. Lots of choices. They replenish food as fast as they can. Some staff are nice and friendly. Others just don't care especially those in the buffet area. But all in all, we had a good time here.

The food was excellent because it was fresh, hot and delicious. There was lots of variety. The staff was friendly, hospitable, accommodating of disabilities (excellent place for easy mobility for physical disabilities and the ceiling echo blocks out noise made from mental disabilities) and attentive to our table's needs.

It's hard to find anything wrong with this place! Food is very good and so much variety. Highly recommend!

Been here TWICE with the boyfriend (the last time we had our friend with us) and I must say that the food was/is SO-O-O-O good, both times! Had two plates with a little of EVERYTHING (again, both times!) and had continuously stop/scold/tell myself not to go up and get even more!! That being said, the staff as well as servers are quite friendly and try to keep ALL the food stations stocked in a timely manner so that nothing runs out. All in all, I think it's a good buffet place and will continue to come back whenever I'm as well as the boyfriend are in the mood and/or out and about. ^^;;

Was there tonight...service was crap....our plates piled up...servers walked by...didnt stop by the tables..didnt ask how the food was or even try to make a conversation when they did.. Never did refills unless asked....not worth $101.00

I normally have a great time and customer service is great when it is just my family. I booked a party in the more private area for 73× people. I was told i could come decorate at 4 and when i arrived i was not allowed to do so until 4:15! As i decorated, my guests arrived.. great.. i was not ready. We enjoyed our time, food.was good, waitresses got to our needs up until the last 30 mins. Staff kept telling us we need to go, we need to.leave because they have another party at 7:00 (mine ended 6:30). Staff rushed customers to finish their plates and even took it without.asking. Also, 1 staff member thought they felt it was right to stand on a chair and shout at us that we need to leave!!! It doesn't matter what the situation is. Even if we were running late.. that is NOT professionalism. In fact, most of the remaining guests had their jackets on or were about to put it on. Myself as a host I didn't feel comfortable anymore and felt rushed and my guests felt the same. Please indicate in your guidelines when making private parry bookings that out of.the 2 hours.. you only get 1.5 hours eat time and we have to be gone by the end time. And do your staff a favor of not having another party 30 mins apart. Good money.. but customer service will decrease! Stop leaving customers uncomfortable!!! And we have an assumption this wasn't the first time that customers felt this way here.

The sushi but especially the sashimi is on par with all the specialty sushi places. Their chicken on a stick is unparalleled. Best buffet in Winnipeg by far. Recommend it to all my friends. Thanks, Ye’s!!!

The food was awesome and watch out for the hot sauce it's an eye opener! All kinds of food BBQ ribs and crab ! Seaweed salad ! Chicken skewers ! Everything was great a must try ! I sure will be back ! Dumpling all kinds !

As usual I don't think I managed to sample more than a 3rd of what was available even with 2 trips and very full plates. Ye's has spoiled me for any other buffet, that is certain. sushi, chinese, north american, korean food all available, at top quality, freshly made. I can never eat as much as my eyes tell me that I want, and feel like I need a wheelbarrow to get out of there! Sooooo full. I also find their staff attentive ensuring empty plates are cleared quickly and beverages are refilled as you wish. Even though road construction makes getting into the parking area a bit rough at the moment it is well worth the trip!
Kristina Sigmundson
Food was excellent but a bit pricey for a buffet. 5 for dinner cost $155 and it didn't even come with a pop. Would go back, but will go hungrier!
Josie Cabalu
The flavour taste the same. I took my hubby there for the first time he wasn't too happy with the food and said it's not worth $25.00. So he won't be coming back.
Leanna Claeys
My coworkers and I will go here every once in a while for lunch. It’s perfect because of the buffet style and you can finish up quickly on a lunch time crunch. They have a massive selection of Asian cuisine, there should be something for EVERYONE. I usually stick with sushi and dumplings...but the price is right! I know they had a hiccup with a negative social media post but I really wouldn’t write them off. I’m giving it three stars just because it’s not the most decadent of dishes, and the service is minimal due to it being a buffet. If you have an appetite, this place will satisfy you!
Prips
Great and overwhelming fresh selection buffet menu aside from the sushi bar. You should come very hungry at this place to try everything on their menu. Very busy during lunch peak until 1-2 p.m.  Parking can be a real challenge.
Dan R
It's a buffet, you get a lot for your money but be aware the food is only ok quality. Been there twice , food is sometimes undercooked. Just keep your expectations within reason for the price
Akhil Mehta
Generally liked the restaurant. Mabe the food is not gourmet on a dish by dish basis but the unbelievable selection of dishes compensates for this. I particularly enjoyed the sushi - possibly one quarter of the offerings! Almost no desserts offered, but that may be the asian style. Suggest that you might want to eat outside of prime time for lunch or supper. The price drops by up to 20% then, as do the crowds. Been 3-4 times would happily go again.
Squishy
I feel this place is too pricey. I would prefer to eat somewhere that specialize in Chinese or just Japanese food rather than come here at the cost. My fave buffet is royal fork buffet.
Ci
Check your bill!! <br/>Went in for Friday lunch. My server tried to charge me for weekend lunch, which is $4 more.<br/>When I brought it up with my server, she insisted that the price was correct. <br/>I took her to the giant poster at the front and showed her the price. <br/>Only after then did she change my bill.

The Happy hours is a scam! Don't waste your money to go there! Horrible customer service! Horrible experience! The manager was being so rude to their stuffs and customers, he was yelling at his stuffs in front customers, cuz I was asking the sushi chief to make more fresh sushi for us since there's nothing really left( only super dry ones left ), and the manager stop him by yelling at him in Chinese! The happy hour is from 8:30 to 9:30 they told us on the phone that we will still get fresh food till 9 pm , but you won't get any fresh food, sushi are super dry and no sashimi left. Only fried rice and fried noodles left! But paying $25 per person for just some old, dry and sand taste like fried rice?! DO NOT GO THERE!

First of all probably one of the most irresponsible restaurant I have ever been in my life with worst employees and food quality. While I was dinning in one of the server was cleaning the tables beside ours and she spilt grease all over my phone and just walked away with apologizing. I turned off my phone immediately because I knew what liquid damage can do, reported to manager immediately and he came and wrote my information down. Next day he called me and said "because I took my phone they are not responsible for any damages caused on my phone." First thing next morning I realized my speaker phone all of sudden doesn't work and also my touch id doesn't work as well. I have spoken with the manager and he has LIED to me saying that because I TOOK my phone insurance company can not cover such damage. I have talked to their insurance company directly and they told me YE'S Buffet is not covered with cell phone damages through insurance. After all, when I contacted the manager of the restaurant for the last time he said "You can go ahead and claim/report your damage and we would careless."<br/>I need some of your advises to figure out what to do.<br/>Repair company even wrote a letter saying this incident have caused such damage and even wrote retail price of the phone and now they are acting as if nothing have happened.<br/>It will be much appreciated if you guys can help me out with this situation.
Alexis
Great selection and variety. Everything from Chinese to Japanese to Thai, it hits every craving. The taste was pretty good for a buffet. Some things looked a bit weary and I avoided most of the sushi as it didn’t look fresh but it was yummy. I really liked how much selection there was including the ice cream. Would definitely go again!

Service, ambiance, size of the menu..nothing matters if a restaurant cannot serve good food. Food was very poor quality...greasy, starchy, dried out flavourless! We could barely finish any item! What a waste of food!
Jamie Cousins
Buffet prices have gone up for lunch time. There are no additions to the buffet menu from Monday to Sunday. But yet they raised prices to $18.99. Not worth the money, go elsewhere.
Michelle Ashcroft
Really disappointed in my last visit, though I had enjoyed it in the past. The food is rather good for a buffet, and the selection is massive. But quality does seem to have gone down.  And service is atrocious.<br/>I get that it's a buffet, but customer respect should be considered.<br/><br/>I had an allergic reaction to something on my plate (no clue what, but my lips started swelling so I stopped eating). Instead of inquiring if there was anything wrong, I was informed that I would be expected to pay a surcharge for food waste.  Now I understand why this practice is necessary, but at least ask the guest if there is a reason before threatening with surcharges.
BriGuy28ca Food Reviews
Worst buffet I've ever experienced. The selection is horrible, I can't even comment on the quality because the food didn't offer any, and everything has wrapped in what they claim is bacon or covered in sauce. <br/>For the price, find somewhere else to go!!!

I have been here a few times and it is very meh. The interior and cleanliness is fantastic but the food is not that great. The price you pay for all you can eat I guess makes up for the below average food. I feel like flavours are little weak and sometimes wrong for dishes. Do not come here strictly for the sushi; if you compare the price of the buffet to all you can eat sushi you might think this is a great value, however there is very limited sushi options and the rolls prepared typically are not that good tasting. There is a ton of options from various cuisines, but they quickly start all tasting similar and very oily. Still you should be able to find enough to let you leave stuffed. I am not typically the all you can eat type of person, so maybe I am being more harsh than I should be.
The Heavy Hitters
We have been here several times and it's a good enough place to stuff your face when you feel like pigging out. We have only been here for the lunch buffet which ranges from 14.99-18.99. For what we tend to devour off buffets I don't think we could justify spending the 25.99+ at the dinner buffet when we would gladly make the drive to East India Company for less than that. The buffet is vast and the cuisine is mostly Asian with many of your basic Chinese dishes and some fancier stuff like plank of salmon, ribs, dumplings, red bean paste balls (so good!) and seaweed salad (looks not so good but a tasty treat). They also serve some sushi rolls and sashimi which is decent buffet quality. Not like they are using real crab or anything. Dessert is lacking but there is a soft serve and ice cream station that makes up for the lack of other good options.<br/><br/>Now to complain just a bit - service is usually all over the place which is not a big deal considering you mostly serve yourself but it has pretty much required flagging someone at front desk for the bill every time. And, trust me, when the Hitters are stuffed with more dessert always an option we are very patient for the bill. It's also impossible to get more than one napkin because they give you one, have none on the buffet and that would require seeing a staff member during your meal. This also applies to a knife which is not provided to the dismay of the chopsticks-impaired. Finally, as hardcore SAUCE Hitters, it's really disappointing that for a place that serves egg rolls and fried fish there is no plum sauce or tartar to be seen. Tempura and sweet and sour are all that is offered.<br/><br/>We will be back as it's the best you are going to get in the city as far as Asian buffets and one of the best as far as buffets in general and the lunch price is very reasonable for the huge selection offered.<br/><br/>A word of advice, you might be better off to park across the street at Polo Park as parking in that small lot is atrocious.

Ye's is my favourite Asian buffet restaurant in the City. It has a wide variety of food, ranging from pizza to sushi to dim sum to authentic Chinese dishes. The quality of food is excellent especially for buffet style. If you have friends who have refined pallets (I mean picky), they will certainly find something at Ye's that will cater to them because Ye's has everything!! For your not-too-adventurous friends, this is a also a great place to introduce them to Asian cuisine. <br/><br/>The restaurant has a high ceiling so it feels very open when you walk in. It also has plenty of seatings, it is perfect for large groups. The ambient reminds me of what you'd find at luxury restaurants in Las Vegas. I have been to Ye's for a good 5-6 times now for different occasions, including both lunch and dinner. I have to admit that I have never once been disappointed with the food or service. <br/><br/>If you ever go to Ye's on the day of your birthday, you can get a 50% off your order! <br/><br/>I'd highly recommend you to go check it out if you've never been!!

Went to Ye's Buffet tonight for dinner with my husband. We were a bit indecisive on what to eat tonight so figured why not go to Ye's buffet where you're more than likely to find something for everyone. <br/><br/>Enjoy the cream cheese wontons and the BBQ pork on skewer, I always grab a few of those. The chicken balls weren't overly breaded and you could taste chicken. Tried some of the other items (Chinese bun, tempura veg, Chinese broccoli I believe ?? it was the healthiest thing on my plate lol... and other items I don't recall off the top. <br/>our server came by to fill up our water and drinks. Pretty attentive considering it was a busy night! <br/><br/>The sushi is surprisingly decent here. Sushi pizza, salmon avocado roll, mango roll were two that stood out for me. I tried some of the others as well which were pretty good for buffet sushi. <br/>Tried some of the dim sum (sticky rice, shrimp dumpling, steamed bun which I was hoping for BBQ pork inside but it was maybe ground pork I'm not certain though on that. Pretty good dim sum, nothing amazing though. <br/><br/>Salad bar for those going the healthier route. Three or 4 soups to choose from although I didn't have. <br/><br/>Ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, mango) pretty nice finish to the end of your meal. <br/>Few other desserts as well - a decent variety. <br/><br/>A little pricy for buffet $25.99 for dinner each, but not bad if you go hungry! Bring your appetite. <br/>It was busy here tonight! Lots of people but we got in within 5 minutes of arriving which was pretty good around 7ish. Lots of room, nice decor. <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>

Never been here before! It was a great experience food was great all at the right temperature lots of flavour! It's worth the price but don't leave anything behind there was a sign that said you will be charged. I would go back! Lots to choose from!

Being away for most of the Christmas break, then being snowed in when I returned… It wasn’t until last weekend that we were finally able to meet up. Only being at Buffet Square once before, I somehow remembered it having decent food for a great price, (approximately $11.25 for the weekend adult lunch buffet).

It is what you should expect for a buffet like this ! It met our expectations. Service was good.<br/>TONS of food choices. Most of the food was hot. <br/>All was tasty. It's was clean with a modern decor !<br/> I would return.
Jon
We really enjoy Ye's. I'd say it's the best Asian buffet I've ever been too. The variety is unsurpassed and the quality very good for a buffet.
Ellenjm85
Food was terrible. Lots of selection of food but everything tastes the same - bland and no flavour. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place and won't be coming back
Habster
Large variety of food, but mediocre at best.  Rude staff.  No refills on beverages offered.  Automatic 10% gratuity charged for large groups.  They really really want that 10% extra.  We offered to split our group into two tables, but they said "No... you said you wanted table for 10."  But they refused to help push two tables together.  "Do it yourself." They charge a gratuity on the taxes also.  Very much the feel of "Give us your money, we don't care if you don't come back."   $35+ per person for mediocre food is NOT worth putting up with the rude staff.  NOT RECOMMENDED.
Ron Sarmiento
Sushi all taste the same. All the fried food taste the same. Noodle all taste the same. Forget this place. $25.99 to eat all the same tasting food is brutal. Please get more creative with your food....
Picky Eater
we ate here when it first opened. at first the food was good, lots of variety and dessert choices. parking is insane.<br/><br/>after a year, came back here to try it out again and have dinner. i find that the quality of food has gone down. the food seems like its been sitting in the warmer for hours that it looks dry. dessert table was a mess. less staff probably cut back on waitress. tables need to be wiped. some kid spilled fried rice on the floor and it took almost 30 min for it to get cleaned up. some parts of the floor was sticky. washroom was stinky and dirty. never coming back here again. not worth the price and road rage parking lot.
Linda
I have never had a bad meal here yet and we've been about ten times.<br/>There is a huge selection and something for most everyone unless you're a picky eater, something I've never been accused of. My favourite items are the kimchi and hot and sour soup. These are the best I've ever tasted. <br/>The website hours are misleading though. I've seen where it is open from 10 to 9:30 and also where it's open at 4 for dinner. It is not open for dinner until 4:30. <br/>You have to get there early for parking as the lot is very small. <br/><br/>
Jacquie
Went here for lunch with the hubs today. First of all, we got there around noon and the parking lot was already full. Parking is definitely hard to find if you don't arrive early, but we managed to find a spot along the back of the restaurant. The place was pretty big. For lunch buffet the cost is $14.99 and it is bit more if you're going on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. There was a wide array of food to chose from including, salad bar, fruit bar, soup bar, dessert bar, ice cream bar, fried rice, noodles, stir-fries, curries, BBQ meats, sushi, dumplings. <br/><br/>The food was pretty mediocre and the only part of the buffet I enjoyed were the nigiri. Maybe the dinner buffet would have been better, with other food being offered at that time, including sashimi. <br/><br/>Both the hubs and I had high expectations coming here, but were left leaving here rather disappointed. Needless to say, we will not be coming here again.
Lara
If you have tried buffet in other cities, you will know this place is crappy. I only tried once and I've never returned since then. The one reason I rated it 2.0 is because its price is not expensive (but it should be not expensive because of its poor quality).
Edible Aficionado
I went earlier this week and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and quality of the food. There was a lot of variety and when some food ran out the trays were quickly filled up There was a lot of choices and most of the food was very good. This may be the best buffet in the city. I am a fan and will be back. There was also a decent variety of desert and pop was only $1.60. I would recommend this restaurant
Aordonez823
Over priced buffet. Dinner cost more and its almost the same selection as their lunch menu. Sushi is pretty tasteless and plain. Mutiple items also tasted the same.
Camille Dupas
Went on a Wednesday night to celebrate a birthday. It wasn't very busy. The food was good (not great), and the service was terrible. Very disappointing as we had heard good things about Ye's. Won't be returning anytime soon; if at all.
Tonia B
The selection was amazing !! Very overwhelming, the sushi was very good ! Although me and my sister found some of their other fried food had an odd aftertaste, almost as it it was fried in old oil ! This made some of the food unappetizing, overall good experience and nice restaurant !
Shea
As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're in a herd of cattle and all the cows are in a hurry to eat all the grass. The food was not good. Everything has been under heat lamps and tastes dried out and fried. The mushroom soup was the best item there. For $25.99 per person, I wouldn't go back.
Arizona89
After hyping Ye's buffet up to my boyfriend for the past year, we finally made our way in for lunch. We had decided to go for lunch after looking up the prices on the website, and lunch was advertised as $13.99 rather than $20.99 because I don't eat all that much. <br/><br/>Positives: the food is really good. They have a huge sushi selection, lots of Chinese dishes (best sesame chicken and sweet and sour pork!!!), dim sum, 4 different kinds of soup, lots of crab dishes, Kim chi and lots of hot western options. The fruit was all very fresh, I would say it was a highlight for me along with the sushi and soups. <br/><br/>The dining room is also huge and pretty nice for a buffet, I felt like I was on vacation somewhere.<br/><br/>Cons: the parking lot is a ZOO. If you're going on a busier day I would recommend parking across the street at the mall. It was a Monday at lunch and we had to wait for a spot. <br/><br/>Drinks aren't included (they are at Royal Fork)<br/><br/>The server only came by to refill the waters once and took our forks away after our first plate. We were trying to find her for more water and forks and couldn't anywhere, we had to take forks off another table. <br/><br/>Dessert section is small, might just be a lunch thing<br/><br/>There was a plunger on the counter in the bathroom (gross!) <br/><br/>Some of the sauce pumps for the ice cream station were broken, so was one ice cream machine <br/><br/>All in all, this is a good place to come if you're really hungry. It's cheaper Sunday-Thursday and is also a lower rate at lunch time if cost is a factor. I don't think anyone would leave hungry, there are options for everyone. We'll be back!
Laura Hanna
Parking is terrible. A little pricey, especially on weekends. Sushi is great! Good sushi pizza. Dim Sum good too. Good stir fry as well. Tried their Hot and Sour soup... Yuck! (Don't you judge a good Chinese restaurant by their Hot and Sour Soup?) nice atmosphere.
Tiff G
Best 'Chinese' buffet available in Winnipeg. It's the typical westernised version. The variety is great, you will find something for even the most picky eater to enjoy. The quality, well in our worst experience the quality was average, in our best experience let me tell you those were the best damn egg rolls I have ever had.  <br/><br/>Parking sucks, but overall the place is good.
Jim Gibbons
Well, its a Chinese buffet. You get what's expected. Good selection of items, even have "American" items. Sushi is a nice touch if you like that. I found it a little pricy for a buffet.
Rick
Large variety of dishes to choose from. I enjoyed almost all of them. The only problem was that I put so many different choices on my plate I couldn't remember what my favorites were so I could go back for seconds. This is one of the better Chinese buffets I've been to. I will come back.
KirstiePerry
On the first few weeks it opened I liked the taste of their food, it was flavourful and did not taste like 'mass production' food. As time passed by, the taste and quality of the food became mediocre. Nothing seemed to be special anymore in this buffet. It's a huge place that can accommodate lots of people, but the food is just okay.
Candy Skyy Daniels
This place is garbage tasteless food over priced crap don't waste 25$ a person to shit your brains out later! Everything was over cooked fried out tasteless not a good selection or variety complete rip off you can get better food and service elsewhere! When making a complaint about not eating much of the nasty food and still having to pay was offered a 20% discount and management was full of attitude! U can find better tasteless food cheaper elsewhere!!
Syd Lyd
Judging by the wet serviette packages I leave with on every visit I have eaten here many times with my husband.  We love a buffet.  This place is clean and warm.  I head straight to the same items every time. Spicy noodles, curried chicken to put on top I add mixed vegetables and mushrooms an egg roll and a walk around to see what else is new.  I find this is a consistent eatery that holds a good value and considering the amount of people that are eating there daily the novelty hasn't worn off.
KANA
It's a buffet, so expectations were lowered.  I was actually fairly impressed especially with the sushi.  Two of my favorite things to order when I go for sushi are tamago and inari.  Well I'm pretty happy to have a place where I can eat as many as I want of both. :) Also the sushi pizza is really good!  The stir fried items sort of taste like they were all cooked in the same sauce.  The hot & sour soup is way too sour.  For the ice cream I liked the white chocolate sauce and make sure to try it with a deep fried banana. Yum.

I was impressed with this buffet, its the only chinese restaurant that reminds me of those in the states, food was hot, delicious, like one review says" hot what should be kept hot, cold what should be cold" my kids loved it as well, i didnt taste anything I didnt like, except the ice cream, i found the interior very classy, it was also kept clean, which to me is a big plus, I have to give it a high rating cause rarely is a buffet so clean, yummy tasting and fresh tasting

Having been here on different occasions and different times throughout the day. I feel that I can genuinely give a review about Ye's Buffet. <br/><br/>Upon entering this restaurant, you are greeted promptly by friendly front staff. Service for seating and drinks are quick. Once situated and all, you're greeted by a vast hot and cold line of a variety of selections which include a sushi line, dessert line, hot food line and more. Quiet overwhelming if your stomach isn't ready for a feast. <br/>That being said I would definitely recommend coming here during lunch hours or early dinner, as the quality of the food deteriorates closer to the end of service; although this should not be a surprise with buffets.<br/><br/>Hot food was kept hot, cold food was kept cold and food was replenished quickly if it ever needed be. <br/><br/>In all this positive light, food here is however is very monotonous in flavour. The choices are grand but the flavour between dishes don't differ much. <br/><br/>The ambience of the restaurant itself isn't a romantic sit down as it can get loud during service. But the decor and the warm tones of the walls somewhat mitigate that. <br/><br/>I'd reccomend this place if you're feeling quiet famished.

Go for the sushi! Good selection and fresh quality, considering it's a buffet. I also enjoyed the bacon-wrapped asparagus and the various types of dumplings. The majority of items are the typical American-Asian fare (chicken balls, beef with broccoli)
Karl Taliesin
Mediocre. not worth the $18 for lunch. Only reason i didnt vote lower is they do have a wide variety on the buffet. But many things are bland, I didnt get get any japanese flavour from anything.

food was very tasty, I really enjoyed shrimp and vegetable tempura and sushi and salmon sashimi, coffee ice cream, best is to try as much as you can and stick what you like the most, the decor is very nice , you just need to be a big eater to get your money worth :) for dinner they have much more dishes and more seafood than at lunch time , which justify the price , parking is atrocious !

First time today and it will not be the last. Group of us went out to celebrate my wife's Birthday and we couldn't be happier. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed, taken to our table all with a smile. Huge selection, fantastic sushi. Great job..
Jack
We went there today for the second time. The food is much better than last time, but the service was a lot worse. No one to refill water, to collect plates, nor to ask whether we need anything. The worst was no one told me there would be a 10% service fee on top of my bill. I didn't figured this out until I got home. I am OK with the service fee, but you really should tell me about it.

[NEGATIVE] <br/>If you like packaged /frozen heavily processed food that's been dumped in deep fryers and sits in a buffet for hours, this place is great (I guess). Otherwise, I cannot fathom on who would give this place a good review. There is zero resemblance of anything "Home Cooked" here whatsoever. The food is all processed. There are just way too many other fantastic "Mom & Pop" places to eat much better food than this muck in Winnipeg. I went here once, but I would never, ever return. The food is bland & flavorless and all based upon "mass-selection" rather than home-cooked quality. Sorry, Ye's - but I won't be back.

Would only go for lunch. For dinner it is very expensive to go whereas lunch it is more reasonable.  Pretty good food for all you can eat, they have everything there, and the sushi bar is my favourite. Next time I go, I would want to come very hungry if I'm paying 25 Bucks, however parking is really bad and difficult. Still a positive experience and next time I would only go for Lunch.

Had I not been exposed from the good food of Vancouver (which I am originally from), I would for sure be happy with this place. The variety and almost freshness of sashimi is reasonably comparable from that of Vancouver but unfortunately I have to compare the two. To begin with, I find the salmon a bit on the harder side. It doesn't melt in my mouth the way I have it in Vancouver; acceptable but not quite as par. I did not taste the sweetness of the salmon; unfortunately it's a tad 'fishy' for my likings. A friend told me before, "once you have Vancouver's sushi or sashimi, you wouldn't have it anywhere else" and I guess that's true. One thing I noticed entirely different is the mass production of sushi and they did not checked the integrity after serving it for quite a while. They let the rice dry out and it lacks the freshness and shininess that we have our sushi. I have to spit out some of the rice cause it's too dry and sitting on the counter for a long time. They should create it in small batches or throw unconsumed ones after a specific time so that customers can still enjoy fresh and sweet sushi rather than tasting 'crunchy ones.' Also, the rice is overdone it is no more near the sushi rice that I am accustomed of; sweet, firm (not mushy) and shiny. The food is not spectacular as compared to buffet square in Mcphilips. They cater the same entrees and nothing special if I would compare the food in general. What sets it apart is the decor and ambience. It's classy, clean and does not have sticky plate but I'm afraid in the future they would serve chipped plates or overused utensils as well just like Buffet Square. One thing that I missed is being served with fortune cookies. Whenever I go for buffets especially with Chinese flair, I always look forward reading my fortune to make me smile!!! Unfortunately, I wasn't served that's why I guess I'm a bit grumpy about my entire experience. :)

Upon entering into foyer of said restaurant, we were greeted by a few excited hosts, which matched  the high volume of music and the vocals of the many patronage in attendance this day. There were a few groups of people awaiting a seating. But as there were only two of us, we were escorted to a seat quite quickly. The table was not wiped down prior to our seating so a quick wipe was in store but even then a napkin was used to wipe what the server had missed. We made our way to buffet area. We grabbed the foods we "thought" were appetizing and headed back to our seats. Initially, as with most "fast food buffets" our pallets  succumbed to our hungry  desire and the foods seems "tasty." at first.  Except, I had a major problem with the chicken balls, it seemed every "ball" had a hard grizzle piece within, very gross and annoying. Not a fun time, watching a pile of  "chicken meat" appear beside my plate. The veggies were very wet, at some point but yet some were hard. Still hungry, ( surprise, this type of food hardly every satisfies) I went up to the buffet again, in search of other bites to satisfy. Unfortunately what I grabbed ended up tasting too similar to what I grabbed during my first round, it seemed as if it all came from the same vat. Thankfully, Hong Kong noodles can't really be messed up. So with lunch at a $ 13 +  x 2, along with 1 soda and tip...the bill came to 40 dollars...Not worth it at all. I'll NEVER go back and will tell all I know not to bother either. Over Hyped, Over priced. Same ripped off feeling I got after going to Five Guys burgers(?) It's your money and time...you decide.

This place sets the standard for a buffet, at least locally. The dining hall is large and when it is full it certainly can be loud, but you can't expect to have the quiet and intimate setting of a private booth in a fancy restaurant. The decor was very nice and did not look like any other buffet I have been to. The service was fine too. The staff kind of hung back until we caught someone's eye, then they were right over to refill our drinks.<br/>The food... oh the selection! Soups, all kinds of salads, fried foods, sushi, stir fried dishes. All were impressive, as long as you aren't expecting a made to order gourmet dish. It is still a buffet, but a very good one at that.<br/>The dessert bar with ice cream is a nice way to end your meal. I would recommend visiting.

Ye's Buffet-<br/>9/10<br/><br/>Warm, clean interior.<br/>Decent food.<br/>Perfect for a dinner with the whole family.<br/>Probably the best buffet in the city.<br/>Recommend.<br/>

*UPDATED*<br/><br/>July 2016 - Came here a few times for the past 6 months and it's a disappointment now. Choices are getting lesser and food are not hot anymore, not enough choices with the dessert. Quality is going down for sure.<br/><br/>======<br/><br/>First time eating here and I must say the experience was good. Came here on a weekday lunch time. There's a lot of food selection. Kinda disappointed with the dessert selection when I came, there's not much ice cream flavours and they looked like they're freezer burned and the mini cake slices tasted like artificial. My favourite is probably their dim sum esp. the pork dumplings and their breaded deep fried fish. Will definitely go back. Place is really comfortable and has a great atmosphere.<br/>

It's probably the best buffet in the city food is really fresh the sushi was amazing . 🍣 tons of seafood to pick from . So if like fish great place to go. I would totally recommend it ...<br/>

As far as buffets go, Ye's is probably the best in the city. YES (lol) it's expensive, especially for holiday's and dinner - but it is so worth it. Unlimited sashimi, and if you're lucky, CRAB LEGS. They're not the skimpy ones like at certain (HOTEL) chains too in the city, cough cough. They're huge and have so much meat in them, it's insane.<br/><br/>My favourites from this buffet are the shrimp, seaweed salad, sashimi, sushi, sushi pizza, cheese mussels, steamed fish, tempura shrimp, miso soup, mushroom soup.. etc.<br/><br/>There is definitely something for everyone at this buffet. The only annoying thing about this place is the parking. When it's busy, it's really busy, and it's abysmal. You have to park at Polo Park to be safe because guaranteed, if you parked within a few metres of the restaurant you will be stuck or be playing bumper cars with some people here. They reaaaally love buffets.
ELF
I actually went to this buffet twice in the last week, and although it is definitely a bit more expensive than other buffets, the selection is exceptional (with many unique dishes compared to other Asian buffets), and I found the quality not-bad when your expectations are set at "buffet standards" to begin with. With that said, on both occasions the service was very poor and most staff members seemed confused when I spoke simply english to them for my requests. Just a minor frustration but it is a buffet so I don't think I should expect much.
Lora
Good luck finding parking. Glorified Buffet Square. Meh. Choices are about the same as the usual buffet. Feels like a cafeteria (lots of echo, big dining hall).

Ye's is definitely a family-friendly restaurant! Both visits I observed families with children and large groups in attendance, and our family would be included in that demographic. Our party enjoyed the sushi section: salmon sashimi, nigiri sushi, many rolls, sushi pizza all were sampled. For prepared buffet sushi, the rolls were fresh, tasty and varied - spicy salmon, California, tempura yam roll, etc, many favourites.<br/>Many American-Chinese dishes are hot and fresh, from broccoli & beef stirfry, General Tso spicy breaded chicken, fried rice, egg rolls, and they had the deep fryer going, they also make some American dishes like french fries, fried chicken, and onion rings. <br/>I sampled some Cantonese steamed fish which was tasty and had a nice tender texture. There were also dumplings, both fried and steamed, but I didn't try those.<br/>A salad bar with many fruit selections is also available, as is a soup bar. The miso was quite good as a starter. <br/>Cold seafood - mussels and shrimp, were lacking flavour. Could not find lemon wedges or seafood sauce at the buffet. In other areas of the buffet, condiments like Sriracha and Tempura dipping sauce were available.<br/>We enjoyed the ice cream bar, complete with several flavours of soft-serve ( I had mango!) and hard ice cream ( cappucino was so tasty!) and if after all of that you still crave sweets, you can even get waffles, pudding, cookies (Chinese style), Red Bean dim sum sesame balls, or a small macaron if you are just needing something small. There's also the requisite Jello at the salad bar!<br/><br/>Service was helpful and non-intrusive. We were seated quickly and were able to enjoy the buffet within minutes of arriving.  This is definitely an appealing option for families, with a large variety of meals, and fresh, tasty options for nearly all tastes Asian, I would recommend Ye's as Winnipeg's premiere Asian buffet.

Idiotic staff and I won't go back!. We have been to Ye's for the second and last time yesterday. While we were paying for our dinner with our two and three year old children a waitress started to play around with my two year old. This was fine until she made the rudest comment I've ever heard come from an adults mouth. You see, my two year old son was born with bilateral cleft pallet and two lip pits (indents) on his bottom lip. This waitress thought it was somehow appropriate to ask me, "What happened to his face?". I replied, "What do you mean? There's nothing wrong with his face". But she couldn't stop there. She proceeded to further insult him by pointing to her bottom lip and asking,"What's wrong with his lip? Why is it like that?". I said, "Because that's how he was born." I wanted to punch her but instead spoke to be manager about it. I told him he should inform his staff that these comments are ignorant and hurtful. It's not my feelings that are hurt but my son is starting to understand what people say. Anyway I will never go back there. I can't support such a discriminatory restaurant.

There were 21 of us attending a company luncheon at Ye's and I was surprised. I've tried a couple of different buffet style restaurants and really have not been impressed. I'm a picky Chinese food eater, at best, but the selection available at lunch was tremendous. <br/><br/>The first thing that catches your eye when you enter is this isn't your typical buffet restaurant. It has the look & feel of a good, modern restaurant. Service was very fast & friendly, and the food was what I would consider above the norm, at least for this city's buffet restaurants. I'm not a sushi eater but there was a whole long table dedicated to a number of different selections. The offerings were too plentiful to mention, but the food was piping hot and replenished promptly. It really looked like there was something for everyone, even including pizza, for the non-Chinese food lovers. <br/><br/>I didn't rate this higher, as it is still a buffet restaurant, but if comparing to others of similar style, this one is the hands down winner.

Desserts Bowls. Seriously now...does anyone else see the face in the chocolate cake staring at them???

Better than expected. I came here twice recently (once for dinner with friends on a friday, once for lunch with my s.o. on a Tuesday). It might've just been me, but I didn't notice any difference in variety between lunch and dinner, which in retrospect makes me question the $10 price difference between. Regardless, there are plenty of options (about 2/3 Asian dishes, 1/3 Western cuisine) which are all above buffet quality. About 8-10 different types of sushi/nigiri, all of which were continuously being replenished. Don't expect much service once you've been served your drinks. When I went for lunch, the place was nearly full by 12:30, so keep in mind you may have to wait. Definitely coming back for lunch.

Nice. I went with my family, I loved the food and desserts, we had to wait a while and it was because we didnt have a reservation also the food was very good specially the sushi.

Cold and Not Cheap. Here are my +/- for Ye's Buffet....<br/>- Dinner price is not cheap over $35 pp with tax and tip<br/>- Good luck finding parking even when it's not that busy (only the city of Winnipeg would be dumb enough to allow this property to be rezoned as a restaurant)<br/>+ Inside it is very roomy and spacious<br/>+ Nice moist towelette provided for clean-up + napkins provided in abundance<br/>- Not licensed to sell booze<br/>- Most of the "hot" dishes were cold or warm at best<br/>- Most "hot" dishes all taste pretty much the same<br/>+ Good soup selection and served hot<br/>- Sushi taste okay but don't expect anything spectacular and selection is pretty basic and the color of the wasabi was weird like a dark olive green
The.master.prophet
Good food, good price. bad service.. My chicken skewer(s) were raw. When I had told the server about it she said sorry and walked away without telling the manager. The manager did not argue with me over it and allowed me to pay for 1 buffet instead of 2. I will definitly be coming back just because of how well he handled the situation.

Above-Average Buffet. Great Value and Selection. First off, I would like to say I am a veteran buffet goer. I have been to buffets from all over North America. By Winnipeg buffet standards, Ye's is better than the vast majority of buffets available in the city. I went on a Saturday evening at 4:50 pm and luckily was able to find a table within a few minutes of arriving. 20 minutes later, there was a lineup going out the door... <br/><br/>There was a wide selection of cold and hot dishes available and most importantly, they are replenished reasonably quickly. The food theme being Chinese and Japanese. The most notable items and probably most expensive items available were cold-smoked salmon, salmon sashimi, and crab legs. All of which were superb, by buffet standards. Surprisingly most patrons did not touch the sushi rolls section. There were a large variety of them too... I only tried some of the rolls and they were edible at best. They tasted as though they were sitting out for a long time. The crowds were all around the "Fast-Food" Chinese/Japanese section. Did I mention they offered Dim sum items too? Pretty cool, again they were edible but a lot of the wrap/skin on the dumplings fell into the "thick dough, barely any filling" category (Shrimp dumplings and Xiao Long Bao namely). <br/><br/>There was a fairly large selection of desserts as well, from cakes, pastries, hard and soft-serve ice cream. I only had some as most of my appetite went towards eating the main meal items. Desserts were above average for buffets. <br/><br/>Atmosphere is great, modern and clean look. Staff is attentive and quick! <br/><br/>I was skeptical at going to this place due to the numerous issues other patrons mentioned during the opening weeks of this place. But to be fair, most restaurants need a few months to work out all the kinks and to really shine if they have the will. Also, please take into consideration that this is a buffet. For dinner on weekends you're paying $24.99. With value and choice in mind, you'd be hard pressed to find any other place in the city that offers the same. And keep in mind that this is a buffet, and as such it would be unreasonable to review this restaurant at the same level of a regular sit-down restaurant. <br/><br/>For Winnipeg buffets, I think Ye's is probably one of the top destinations I would recommend to anyone.
Jan.ageless
A Great Adventure. You must try it! Incredible amount of good food. Come with a big appetite!! Will definitely come again.<br/> Very nicely laid out restaurant design, though quite noisy. Would suggest baffles from the ceiling or something to block out some of the noise.
Baobaosteven02
Best buffet in winnipeg. It has food from a lot of cultures and even if you don't like buffet you can still give this one a try all the food ls delicious
Food Snob
Not a fan of Buffet's but this one is worth the try.. Soups were hot, 4 types, Won ton, Miso, Hot and Sour, and good old mushroom. Not salty, piping hot and seemingly made from scratch.<br/><br/>Sushi, well great sushi this is not, fresh buffet, tasty, well prepared considering it is sushi for 400. tasty, and aside from the one or two pieces that were a bit on the out too long side, quite acceptable. If your going to try one of each roll, or straight sushi, you will not be able to do justice to the rest of the offerings. A bit interesting was the strawberry/creamcheese roll.<br/><br/>Dim Sum. and dumplings, sticky rice. quite acceptable, just a bit dough on the steamed dumplings. Sesame paste buns, quite good, look for them, they are not in the Dim Sum section.<br/><br/>Salad section, lots of offerings, fresh and well prepared.<br/><br/>Hot foods...always being freshly replaced.... take your time and sample everything. Lots of chicken, enough deep fried, and yet there are lots of steamed, wok'd and veggie combos.<br/><br/>Vegetarians will find quite a good selection.<br/><br/>Pork ribs, were quite tender and meaty. Chicken maybe 8 different types from both the battered, and skewered, spicy as the kung pao, and not spicy like the chicken and veggies.<br/><br/>Shrimp, mussles, crab, basa, in every way shape and form.<br/><br/>Noodles and rices round out the carbs.<br/><br/>And just for those who don't want the Asian, there is pizza, fries, onion rings, stuffed potato skins, chicken skewers, deep fried wings and drummies. Got to give these guys credit.<br/><br/>Certainly one trip is not enough to sample everything.<br/><br/>The big surprise is that I did not end up with a headache or thirsty. They seemingly do not use globs of MSG. Kudo's to them!<br/><br/>Unless you are young, and can burn your calories like you have a hollow leg you will have to go at least twice to sample everything, and even then a third trip might be needed.<br/><br/>Generally very well prepared, very fresh, and tasty.<br/><br/>To the other Buffet's... i'd be worried. While this one may well be one or two dollars more on the weekend, they just might wipe you off the map.<br/><br/>The only drawback I could find was that while there is seating for 400 patrons the parking lot maybe is good enough for 150 people.<br/>If you are going for a prime time buffet, be prepared to walk several blocks!!<br/><br/>Three thumbs up!
Nataliegasc
Don't tell my ex.... If the ratings for this place reaches 80% my ex will start going...what the heck...if you take your time, watch for what fresh food being doled out and enjoy the company of good friends, three plates later you've gotten your money's worth for sure. Tons to choose from for all you sushi haters; and great selection for all you sushi lovers.

Yummy food.

Nice spread. First visit was good. Nice selection. Personally my favorite was the lemongrass chicken and the pad Thai ish noodles. Grand room, its huge inside. Good quality and value. I will return.

Great value!. Went for a Friday lunch and left very satisfied - no need to make dinner! Great selection.

Sushi heaven. Sushi lovers must come here! One of the best buffets in Winnipeg. Great servers too! Always making sure we have water, tea, etc. They are working on expanding the parking lot. We'll be back for more sushi!

Second time, still good. Second time coming for lunch. Second time the food is great, but different dishes from last time. This time we went on Saturday - staff is far more overworked this time. As a result we did have to ask for a refill on our drinks. No biggie though. The parking is the big problem on weekends- seems to have more moron drivers than anywhere else but that is not their fault. Will continue to eat here....
Meh
Good Deal for Sushi at Lunch. We arrived at 11:30 for lunch on a Friday. Parking was no problem across the street at Polo Park.<br/>I would suggest getting there early, if you don't want to wait. There was a lineup from 12:00 onwards.<br/><br/>The two kinds of salmon nirigi sushi alone were worth the price of admission. They were constantly replenishing it, so it was very fresh. Generous portion of fish on a small, chewy nugget of rice. There were various other kinds of rolls that you see in North America, thankfully excluding the hot sauce and mayo that some places here use.<br/><br/>Besides sushi, there was a selection of Chinese foods you'd get at other buffets. The wife really liked the Cantonese steamed fish. Misses were some of the dumplings in the kitchen coming out of a pre-packaged wrap, and the gyoza were a bit luke warm.

A one restaurant. Me and my family went too Ye's last night, we park across in polo ok as many others did, the food is the best Asian food we have ever had, not a bit like the Asian food you get elsewhere, we can not fault it at all , the servers were very nice and polite, the food is not the norm precook garbage you get in other Asia restaurants, the mussels shrimp prawn oysters etc were very tasty, we all said no more canad inn for family night out for dinner, in future it's YE'S, buffet dinner 25$ per person which is very good, considering it's all you can eat, cost u more than that at Moxies for a four corse meal, don't understand any bad reviews at all
Skinlovr
Unless you LOVE SUSHI, DON'T GO!!!!!!!! Good Luck parking!. Impossible to PARK>. The interior is somewhat impressive at entrance and then it goes downhill from there.<br/>Well,. Unless you like SUSHI, almost all else is tasteless.. The selection other than sushi for lunch is dreadful and lacks flavor.<br/>Expensive for the non SUSHI eater. Not worth it for us who do not want to eat nor like SUSHI. I went Saturday Lunch!<br/>Almost $20.00 NO beverage.. Lunch time? Well, I had to get back to work.. The predominantly Asian clientele seems pleased and enjoyed their almost entirely Sushi meals it would appear.<br/>The Staff was very busy. harried and overtaxed, overworked but polite and friendly. Always a smile and tried to please.<br/>The soup was tasteless to start with.. Cheap dry noodles as well. The wonton in the soup were ok.<br/>Whatever I ate, especially from the stir fry area was lacking any taste whatsoever. If you only LOVE CHICKEN thigh meat, enjoy! BEEF stir fry also no flavour at all. The rest well, Spring roll, bland but ok...Plum Sauce ok... Fried Rice was white and beyond bland The colour of the alleged fried rice tells the story. <br/>I am not a fan of chicken wings but I will say theirs were quite good. They were breaded but I will say crispy, moist, tasty. The desserts are nothing special either.<br/>I likely will not return nor will most of my family, friends or acquaintances enjoy this.I know one co-worker that likes it but she is a Super Sushi Freak. lol
Gothfeary
Loved it. Service was really good, the wait staff was always ready to take away used plates or swing by with a pitcher of water. <br/>The food was awesome (if often mislabeled, most likely a miss from lunch service) and the sushi was simple and nicely done. I will definitely be back.

My wife and I dined at Ye's early Sunday evening just after the supper service was brought out. I've been to Las Vegas over a dozen times and had my share of buffets, both good and bad. For the money, Ye's is definitely a contender. As a seafood lover I had several options to choose from. All the food was fresh and tasty. We'll be back.
Brian
Pleasantly surprised. We found ourselves in the Polo Park area on Sunday, following an afternoon movie, and decided to try Ye's despite the host of bad reviews.<br/><br/>I was very pleasantly surprised - both food and service were great!<br/><br/>Something that most of the reviewers here seem to be missing is to put things into context. This place is a giant buffet - cooking huge quantities for huge crowds. If you expect the same quality as your favorite Chinese place, well then you're just being silly.<br/><br/>Anyway, get here early......we arrived around 5:30, and there were still half of the seats available, but by 6, there was a line out the door.<br/><br/>The selection is vast. from soups to salads (including plenty of seafood salads) to traditional Chinese dishes to dumplings to Japanese hot dishes and sushi......definitely something for everyone.<br/><br/>The stir-fries I tried were all fresh, hot, with the right amount of crunch left in the veggies. The sushi selection is large, with both veggie and fish sushi, as well as very generously-cut portions of sashimi that were as fresh and tasty as any I've had at high-end sushi restaurants.<br/><br/>Service was good, with plenty of staff on hand to clear away plates, and keep your drinks filled. We had to wait a bit for our bill, but nothing unreasonable.<br/><br/>A lot of people complain about the price - well, this is by far the biggest, and arguably best buffet in town, so I don't think $25 is all that bad, given the selection of pricier items that are stocked.
Facebook User
Not worth the price.. Food was too bland for what they charge. And don't think of going with 10 or more people because they put a manditory 10% tip not one persons bill but everyone's bill. Would not recommend to anyone.

Will be back for more :) good service, good food -- sushi was fresh and really good too! More dessert options would be nice tho :)

I can't understand the bad reviews at all.. Except for limited parking space, this buffet is one of the best buffets my family have ever visited in Canada and New England area. <br/><br/>I guess there may be somebodies hired to speak ill of restaurant. But, I'm not sure of it.

Brandon Good....Winnipeg location.FAIL. The Brandon location food is good service is good..........The Winnipeg location.....Food FAIL....Service..Flat out Shit......The hostess should be thrown off a cliff.....the Winnipeg management needs to change that......or Close....! In Brandon....great.!....in Winnipeg dont waste your time and money.......This better change in Winnipeg we know our buffets....and this one will be gone soon.
Terryc
Best Buffet in Winnipeg. I have been to their location in Brandon at least 8 times, been to the one in Winnipeg 5 times, all I could say is the food is great and it is consistent. I look forward in going back and I always tell others how great it is. Go try it you will not be disappointed.

Bad BAD bad. Bad poor quality food,No taste all bland .Dry and over done . On and On i can go, spend your money elseware. Too expensive for the qaulity you get. Will never go back,
Kyle
Went there with my dad because it looked fancy. That grabbed our attention but the food is dreadful. The food was chewy, probably because it was old and there wasn't much taste to it. Won't be going again.
QBprairies
Good value for the money. Honestly it is a huge selection of all your Asian favorites. Plus pizza for the fussy eaters in the group. Many sections are delicious some are okay but none were failures. We had a large group of multi ages...with reservations on a busy Sunday night we were in and out in one and a half hours after going up for thirds (on food and desserts!)<br/><br/>It's not fine dining. ..but for buffet it's great. We'll be going back.
Canalilly
Very good, more than pleased.. I was almost afraid to go, given the reviews, but I'm glad I did. A few friends go together and went out. I liked the various table sizes accomodating large groups to small groups. Decor was nice. Food choice very good. Food taste was extremely good, to good. There was nothing I didn't like. If any food got cold, it was simply from standing with food on plate. The food was hot enough when I took it. So if you did a recon of the foods you want, and plan your attack to get the hot foods last- no problem. Wait staff could not have been nicer, friendlier or more attentive. Lots of items for a vegetarian, and lots for my meat loving freinds. Everyone was happy. Two drawbacks- No liquor license yet.. very sad, I wouldnt have loved some wine. And the parking lot is too small. But people seemed to make do. Maybe one last one- they used the pollock crab stick on some dishes, and I don't like that stuff, so didnt eat any. But had plenty of fresh real seafood choices.
Cmandtl
Great for lunch. Went there for lunch with people from work and the food was hot and fresh. The service was good for a buffet and the dishes where being refilled in adequate time. There is more selection then you can every try in one day. Some dishes are amazing while others are okay.<br/><br/>For the price of an afternoon lunch buffet there is definitly great value for your dollar.
Kovac.kira
Nice decor, food is ok. I enjoyed the atmosphere for the restaurant. <br/>But the food was par with other places. The sushi wasnt that great. I enjoyed the chicken and mushroom dish. <br/>Too expensive for the food served

Really good "Buffet Food". Most of the negative reviews are really based on opening day/week of this restaurant. Which is unfair. A common denominator being service and the price. I had the chance to go there two time and on two different occations and all I have to say is stay away from the weekends or expect to wait, especially when there is a group of you, unless you call for reservations (common sense). <br/><br/>Service is an important factor for me when I dine out at restaurants. You negative people have to show some empathy to some of these waitress/hostess that probably just started. They have to see and hear alot of people during their shift and sometimes will have their off days. Prices are roughly $25 a person. Not bad in my opinion, considering the variety of food you're getting. Also, most buffets are around that price. <br/><br/>The asthmosphere is a take on a modern asian-ish theme. The lighting is very un natty. Overall, Nice and clean. It's impressive enough to take your girlfriend out on a first date, that's for you teenagers out there, haha. Anyways, they offer variety of foods. From chicken wings (reminds me of hooters), tempura shrimp/octopus, sashimi( fresh)/sushi, dim sum, and of course a soft ice creme/dessert bar. I just wished they had Korean BBQ or short ribs. If they did, game over! They have a lot more than what I listed. <br/><br/>Other than that, reviews are sometimes misleading, I say if you're craving random things and can't decide what to eat, try Ye's Buffet or what I like to call it, kanYE's Buffet. You won't be dissapointed. <br/><br/>"But of course, this is all just an advice, you can do whatever the fuge you want to do!"

Great Service, Decent Food, Good Price. I went for lunch with my family on January 31st. It was very crowded. We were seated after a twenty minute wait. The waitress that was attending the section we were seated to was extremely friendly, polite, and attentive. She was always ready to take away empty plates that were crowding our table and showed genuine gratitude when we picked up the garbage and stacked the plates to make it easier for her to gather. The service itself definitely made the experience a lot better.<br/><br/>In regards to the food, there is a huge variety which works great when you want a little bit of everything. If you are aiming for specific high quality specialty dishes, then you are better off going somewhere else. My family was quite pleased with the food. The sushi rice was soft and fresh. No one got sick, my sister loved the fish and my parents loved the oyster. From what I noticed, there was always new food being rotated in, everything on my plate was hot, and nothing tasted bad. Some of the chicken dishes were overcooked, but none of the pieces I ate had bone or fatty chunks.<br/><br/>Some foods you will find during lunch are fried rice, fried noodles, stir fried veggies, steamed veggies, veggies in various sauces, oyster, crab cooked/baked in various styles, various forms of chicken cooked in a Chinese style (sesame, General Tao, sweet ‘n sour), chicken strips, tender ribs that fall off the bone, fried dumplings, steamed dumplings, French fries, pizza, mango/chocolate/strawberry mouse/cake, vanilla/chocolate cake, mango/cappuccino/chocolate/vanilla/strawberry ice cream, and sliced fruit. There is a waffle bar and many veggies to make yourself a salad too.<br/><br/>UPDATE: I came here for dinner on February 5. The waitresses were extremely nice, polite, and friendly. There was not much of a difference between the dinner and lunch choices. Dinner had baked oysters, fried scallop, more fish options, and deep fried wonton. Stick to going during lunch.

I really enjoyed the variety of food that was available! Clean washrooms and the Buffett was kept well. We enjoyed a little bit of everything. I would go back and recommend

Terrible place!!!!. My girlfriend and I went there for supper on opening day, waiting for about an hour (That is alright, we did not have any reservation). When we finally sat there and picked food, all the food was cold (was around 6:30, should not be that cold); The BBQ ribs were just full of fat, very very greasy. Then we had salmon sushi, my GF loves raw salmon and sushi a lot, but the sushi was not fresh, the raw fish part is dark orange and had weird smell...... We tried the crab legs, unfortunately we did not have any tool to crack them, so I fought with crab legs for awhile, and my GF just gave up........<br/>The price is unexpected high comparing with horrible food<br/>We are lucky didnt get food poison by that salmon.<br/>Wont go there again

Ye's buffet is actually not that bad at all.. Went to Ye's for lunch yesterday, and it was good. We were seated right away and was surprised on how packed it was. Such a large space. Although we were seated quite far from the actual buffet area it was still not too bad of a walk. The selection is insane. There was so many dishes that i would have liked to try but just did not have enough stomach room for all the food. Also, I was very impressed with the customer service. Although there were so many people in the restaurant the waitresses were completely on point, very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going back for sure, but only for lunch because i cannot see myself paying $25 for dinner.
