I love this place, the food is amazing. The. staff are great, always very welcoming from the time you walk in to the time you leave. This is a place you will definitely go back to.

Awesome food, awesome service and the Manhattan was on point! Erica was a great server! If you haven't eaten here? Go eat here. The ribs will are incredible! Steak is always done to perfection (medium rare always ends up medium well 🙄) and homemade soups n sauces on everything. Highly recommend!

Had a couple of appies, the Memphis ribs and the Dawn Poutine. Ribs slid nicely off the bone, were tender and had a delicious rub. There was a side of their BBQ sauce, but totally unnecessary. The garlic toast on the side was a little flaccid, but good strong garlic flavour. The Dawn Poutine had an egg, bacon, cheddar and hollandaise smothered over their thickly cut fries. I was concerned the fries were too big and would just come across as a smothered potato, but they were grilled nicely, and were delicious under all the accoutrements. Service was a little slow and the portion of the ribs (not the poutine - it was huge) was a little small. Otherwise rock solid.

Food was good. We enjoyed the ribs and mushrooms. The service was very good too, not stellar. We dined on the patio and had fun people watching.

Was absolute perfection I got the Longhorn Steak with rice and vegetables. It was so good I said to my gf that if I had to choose a last meal that would be it. Absolutely amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Great meal by far. FANTASTIC will definitely highly recommend.

I went to the Heights today for Le Burger Week to try the Achy Brekky Heart and it was SPECTACULAR. The Apple Fritter bun worked so well, adding some amazingly unique flavour. The service is always top notch - I've never had anything but a great time there, and look forward to my next visit. A wonderful family-owned Winnipeg institution!

Great food and service! Clubhouse, quesadilla, chicken fingers, tacos all good! Fries are those extra crispy deep fried goodness. Great service. Bonus, patio is dog friendly!

Silver Heights does it again!! What a fabulous place. My friend and I had a lovely, relaxed dinner. Our server engaged with us, was attentive without hovering. The Cesar salad was fresh and crisp with just the right amount of dressing. The huge serving of 3 beef ribs was amazing. Roasted veggies and baked potato rounded out the entre. I had to ask for a box to take home the leftovers. Hubs enjoyed the (cold) leftovers for his lunch. It is worth the effort to visit Silver Heights!

We stopped in for the first time at the Silver Heights last night.  What a great experience!  Friendly staff and the food was excellent.  The prawn appetizer was the best I've had since I was in France 15 years ago.  The house red wine was lovely as well.  Our compliments to the chef - two very happy customers.  We'll be back.

I’m back with another St. James restaurant. This time it’s Silver Heights Restaurant. Silver Heights Restaurant & Lounge is a family steakhouse located on Portage Avenue. A couple of things about this place caught my eye as I was traveling in St. James over the last little while. The first is that the restaurant has a large black awning that really stands out against the building. The second is they advertise themselves as having the best BBQ ribs in town,

First time here and it's Mothers Day. Place is very dated but clean. Table placement was crowded as I had to put up with people bumping into me on their way to and from the washroom. Four adults at a table that was sized comfortable for only two. The tabletop was crammed with far too much clutter. Wine menu that stays on the table. Plastic A-frame with dessert items on display. Candle in little holder that was never lit, so wasted valuable room. Four glasses of water that only one of use asked for. Service itself was good. Don't like that automatic 20% gratuity was added to bill, just because of mothers day? Food was MEH! I've had better,I've had worse!

I was in Winnipeg last week on business.  A good friend of mine lives within walking distance of the Silver Heights restaurant so we decided to meet there for dinner and drinks.  The sign outside read, "famous for ribs".  I decided to order a full slab of baby backs.  They were just ok.  They were tender but lacked seasoning and the sauce was really sweet.  For sides, I chose a Caesar salad and fries.  Again, they were just ok.  I must say that the service was really good.  We were drinking pitchers of beer and never once were we left dry.  We sat on the bar side.  It could do with a good cleaning.  A renovation might even be in order.  However, I have a feeling that the regulars might revolt if that were to happen.  The Silver Heights is the typical Winnipeg bar where neighbourhood people gather to watch curling and drink OV.

It's Le Burger Week in the city so I had to head on down to Silver Heights to try their "Soup'r Baked" burger. Ground chuck patty, bacon, mayo, sour cream, chives, loaded baked potato soup and cheese on a pretzel bun. Overall great burger! Love the idea they had to incorporate their famous soup into a burger. Only downside was I would have liked the bun toasted, and wish the bun had some salt. Took the burger to go and it held up really well!

Always amazing food when I go to the Heights! From the 2 for 1 steak sandwiches on thursday night's!! To ordering skipthedishes.. Never been disappointed. <br/><br/>Just tried the Mmm-Heighty Memphis Burger....... WOW! What an amazing burger!!! Their ribs are amazing by themselves but add all of it onto a burger.... just wow.... If your unsure of what to order!! ORDER THIS!!!<br/><br/>"The Heights world's famous mouthwatering baby back ribs, deboned, then seasoned with our Memphis cajun dry rub. Served with our Smoked Beamen barbecue sauce, zingy coleslaw and crisp dusted red onions, piled high on a butter brioche bun."

I was really craving prime rib and decided on a whim to try this place thru SkiptheDishes, unfortunately the prime rib wasn't what I had hoped for. There wasn't a flavorful crust at all and there was no flavour in the center of the meat. It looks and taste like something my brother would throw together on a lazy weekend, not something I pay money for at restaurant. I also ordered nearly 2 hours ahead to give them enough time to prepare it. The salad and mash was good but its hard to mess those up. Overall, pretty disappointing.

The fries were obviously Costco brand, fried (not necessarily a bad thing), and the burgers were a passible variety. We ordered via Skip-The-Dishes for pickup....<br/><br/>There were many other items on the menu I wish to try (and perhaps update my review later), but the burgers were unremarkable.<br/><br/>The decor and signage is retro and I will certainly at least give them a second try as nothing was bad... just likely not the best items on the menu.<br/>

The Los Bad Hombres made a striking presentation topped with shredded mozza and cheddar cheeses, pico de gallo and colourful tortilla crisps. Grilled jalapenos and chipotle mayo filled out the flavours. The burger was done to perfection, and the flavours complimented each other perfectly - just enough heat to not overwhelm everything. I loved the texture of the Tortilla crisps on this burger.

My friend and I popped in for a dinner in the lounge last night. It's a regular place I like to go and have always had an enjoyable experience. I won't be including last night however. We ordered wings and a side greek salad each as wings were on special. One type I like is no longer on the menu, and the other we asked for they were out. I got the dry cajun and my friend got the double fried Frank's sauced. Salad was nothing spectacular and the wings were small and mine were under seasoned and my friends didn't have any seasonings or sauce at all. We didn't get the chance to say anything to take hers back and corrected as the waitress didn't come back until the bill time. However the worst thing was the waitress decided to over tip herself as I requested a very specific return on my cash and she decided to keep it instead. Extremely poor taste in regards to service. We won't be back for awhile. Shame...I really like this place

Very good.. mushroom neptune was delish, my bf ordered the prime rib which was very flavourful and huuge portion! I ordered the chicken oscar which was okai.. the chicken was quite small but the scallops and shrimp on top was a good size. The sides weren't anything special.. a veggie mix and mashed potatoes. Overall the experience was good. Food was fast and hot, service was great.

Had lunch here yesterday. I had the beef dip (mini, can't imagine how large the full order would have been) hubby had the ribs with the potato soup. Soup was AMAZING.Service was prompt and very friendly, food was amazing.<br/>Would come back again and again

One of the waitresses was SO stupid (a blonde working Thursday morning), she couldn't see it was me on the ID she asked for - after I had been going there regularly for a full year! - because my hair is a different colour than it was on my ID! rude, never going there again! ALSO: the ATM has been busted up forever, they won't fix it, but they let people use it! The front is all torn up..classy!

The Swizzle Styx had lunch here yesterday and everyone was impressed!  Only one in the group had been here prior which is surprising seeing as how it's been around for so long!  We dined on the liver & onions, crab cake Caesar salad, denver sandwiches, beet borscht, onion rings and french fries and everything was delicious.  Our server, Kelly, was outstanding!  Super friendly, super efficient, and super helpful (and patient!).  There are so many interesting things on the menu a few of us kept changing our minds and it didn't phase her in the least.  She kept our waters and wines full at all times and was quick to clean away dirty dishes, etc.  I actually love the old saloon atmosphere and the place is super clean.  Can't wait to return!<br/><br/>Jan 2017 - we dined here again and it was fabulous again, great food & service.
Food Musings
If you ever drive west on Portage Ave. you have no doubt taken notice of the retro signage marking the location of the Silver Heights Restaurant. Or perhaps you have taken this route so many times that the familiar has disappeared. The Silver Heights restaurant opened in 1957 just about the same time that the neighbourhood was born and has been a St. James landmark ever since.
C Michael O'Nuanain
Dive bar atmosphere. Generic food. Prices are high for what you get. Okay if you're with a group and can't decide, but there are better places in the neighborhood.
Jeremie Verrier
Surpsingly a great place. Food was delicious and service was great and friendly. Don't let the outside deceive you of this place. Hope to try again soon!

I grew up in St James, but last night was my first time to the Heights.  The food came out quite quickly and the portion size was quite large. <br/><br/>The meal was a mix of good and bad. The caesar salad is very bland and forgettable. The BBQ ribs were nice for 2 of us with a decent amount of sauce and fall off the bone goodness , but  the Prime Rib for rare was  cold and   the Yorkshire Pudding was  overcooked and very dark . My girlfriend ordered the  Peppery Yagger sauce  with the Prime Rib and that was an  addictive combo  with the au jus. The seasoned veggies were cooked well and enjoyable.<br/><br/>Service was very prompt. Dining area was clean, albeit a little dated. Prices seem to be about average.<br/><br/>In all, a safe bet for a decent meal in St James.

Can't Beat the Value. I usually end up in the lounge at The Heights once every few months and for the most part I haven't had any reason to complain. The food is your basic run of the mill pub food and the beer is cheap and cold. The thing that really gets be coming back however is the Silver Platter, a full order of nachos and 2LBS of wings for $20, I can't think of too many other places where you can get that kind of value to go along with cheap beer for watching a game. Granted the wings aren't anything to write home about (tons of flavors tho) and the nachos can be kind of hit or miss it's been enough to keep me coming back. Service is always pretty good as the servers usually run more of a platoon rather than individual sections so ending up with a server that goes MIA doesn't happen very often, even during busy times like before and after Jets games.

Good food, but GREAT service!. Went to this neighbourhood restaurant for the first time last night ( with a group of 18) for dinner and to see the band that was playing. Such amazing service! It was packed to capacity, but we felt like the only tables there! Had the prime rib and it was so delicious. Such a big portion that it was breakfast this morning. Our group had the veal, quesadillas, ribs and Greek salad to name a few. Everything was fresh, out fast and very good. Thanks to all the staff who made this outing a super fun night! We will be back!

Greek ribs, fell off the bone! Very nice staff and good food

OK FOOD, JUST OK.. Food - 6 <br/>Ambiance -7<br/>Plating - 6.5<br/>Service (depending on the server) 6 - 9 (hope you get a 9)<br/><br/><br/>Well if longevity is a measure of good, this place certainly has stood the test of time.<br/>Not one of my go to places, but if you like bbq back ribs that fall off the bone, or wear dentures, this place will be great for you! Way overcooked if you are a rib lover.<br/><br/>Another reason to try this place is it is one of the last places in the city to actually do BBQ beef ribs.<br/><br/>Nothing really special about anything they serve, and for the price it is likely good value.<br/><br/>Worth the trip once in a very long while, but certainly not on a regular basis.

Food was really good. My hamburger was very juicy and had lots of flavor. Yum !! <br/>Waitress was super slow and it wasnt busy. I Wasn't too impressed that I was charged 5.00 extra for a small side Greek Salad (instead if getting the greasy French fries) when she said no problem we can do that without paying extra.

In Style. Have enjoyed the ribs, chicken, fries and fish on various occasions - ALWAYS perfect.

Clubhouse. I came to the heights for a few drinks to watch the jets game with some coworkers. I was very pleased with the quick drink delivery and impressively made clubhouse sandwich.

Quality. Beats the heck out of The Keg most of the time (depends on which cook is cooking) and the in house Ceasar dressing is pretty amazing. Coming from a third generation peasant Ukranian I must say I haven't had borscht this good since my great aunt passed away.

Wow, disappointment at its finest. We stopped in for a bite to eat before hitting the range, service was seriously lacking. I ordered a tea, and received it within a few min, but was not given a spoon or sugar, I think that's kinda basic. The waitress disappeared in a flash of the eye, an we didn't see her again for 20min. We ordered the platter of wings and tacos (with no beef) and a poutine. We waited another 20 min for our food. When it finally came she plopped it on the table and left. She didn't give a fork for the poutine. Okay so hot gravy and cheese with my fingers? Also beef was on the tacos bit the had no tomato or onion..? Really how hard is it to provide basic service. The only good thing was the wings. The beef on the tacos was so greasy the chips were soggy, and the gravy was tasteless. Total came to 40$... Really? For what? I won't waste my time there again.

TERRIFIC. Travelleld across the city to sample the famous ribs. We were not disappointed. The ribs were every bit as good, even better than advertised. We had a shrimp cocktail that was amazing and the brushetta that was out of this world. We also tried the 5 bone dinner that was faboulous. The meal came with your choice of potatoes and vegetables as well. it was well worth the trip and the price. The friendly service and good food makes this restaurant the real deal.

LOVE THIS PLACE. I have read many reviews about this place some great some negative but i always check the past patterns of the negative reviewers and most do not influence me any more. This Restaurant has been around for over 50 years and it must be doing something right! My wife and I with a 2 other couples had our annual Christmas dinner here and everyone ordered something different as we always do, everyone thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My Pepper Steak was med rare and juicier than any other steak i have had before! Greek Ribs, BBQ ribs, Salt and vinegar Pickeral and prime rib were all orderred and perfect - the yorkshire was not good but that did not deter us in any way shape or form. Service was exceptional and decor was very warm and cozy and it felt like home.<br/>Congratulations to the family who after 50 years still has the energy to keep it going and inviting.

Extremely disappointing. This is a prime example of a restaurant living on it's past glory. We had our club's Christmas party there this year and there was not a person that was impressed.... They are "famous" for their prime rib.... they have no clue on how to prepare it. When someone requests rare, that does not mean there is a pink spot in the middle of a brown-grey chunk of meat. It means there is actually some blood. After sending it back twice, we gave up- seems you can get from meium well to shoe leather. And their Yorkshire Pudding was terrible! IT had the consistency of a bagel, literally. Their "BBQ ribs" were tender but extremely small and there was maybe a tablespoon of BBQ sauce baked onto the middle inch of the rack. Honestly, the only thing good was the carrots.... We will not be going back ever, and that is saying a lot. BTW, meals are very expensive here, as if it was a 5 star restaurant. My personal opinion - BLECH!

Not sure what to think.... So, I figured the wife and I would check out "The Heights" about 3 weeks ago. We've heard so much about it, but it's always been a long drive from our neck of the woods. We were given pretty good service. We ordered 2 Steak dinners, which were not done at all the way we asked them to be. At least 2 grades of doneness away!! For a rib and steakhouse, you'd figure that wouldn't be an issue. Anyways, we sent them back and they both came back to the table well done. We had both ordered medium rare..... The manager ended up at the table, which was nice, but he seemed to really not care at all and almost seemed as if he was questioning our knowledge of steak doneness. Really buddy?! There seems to be quite the emphasis on their bar/lounge and really no thought at all towards the dining room and the food that is coming out of the kitchen.

Interesting wings. It's across town from where I live, but I wanted to come try their wings. The draw for me was that they have 3 days of wing specials and they had the longest list of more unique flavors that I've ever seen. We had 4 of the non-standard wing flavors, including perogy and peanut butter & jelly. Despite being afraid of what peanut butter and jelly would taste like on chicken, it was surprisingly not bad. They have their own draught on tap that was decent. You can tell they try hard to draw in more people, by having lots of promotions and specials. I wish I had something like Silver Heights Restaurant close to me.

The fiancé and I decided to finally stop at silver height for a late lunch on Saturday. Despite the low rating we gave it a shot, and we were surprised. I had the Alamo which is yesterday's prime rib on rye bread with onions. This sandwich came to 13 bucks and was worth every cent. The prime rib was perfectly done and the raw onions with aujoius for dipping was amazing. The wife had a turkey sandwich which she claimed was also amazing. The draught was on special for 3.15 whih is the cheapest I've ever seen since I was 20. We recomened this place foresure. The server was great the food was awesome and the beer is cheap. We should really support these old classic Winnipeg joints and realize why thes places have been around for 40 years. They know how to cook meat and proved it to me. Chek this place out, I wouldn't recommend the lounge I walked in than walked out and had a great meals in the dining room.

This place never seems to get exciting.... Well, I really don't undestand the draw, if any, of this place at all. The menu is huge, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if it was full of exciting creative food. The ribs are sub par and hit and miss, with what I'm guessing a Kraft-style BBQ sauce. Too tangy for my tastebuds... Service is ok... Please Silver Heights, update and reduce the size of your menu if you insist on keeping the same old boring food.

A proud Winnipeg business I'll be happy to frequent.. Tried this place for the first time, despite the bad reviews on here.<br/><br/>Service was excellent, there was a welcoming atmosphere, and the food was delicious. My partner and I both had steaks. They were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. This will probably be our choice over The Keg from now on. The restaurant was decorated tastefully with framed photographs of iconic Winnipeg landmarks.<br/><br/>The bar had a totally different feel with live music, slot machines, and a whole lot of regulars enjoying themselves.

Just terrible. Despite the low rating on urbanspoon my friends and I decided to try this restaurant. This particular outing was quite late into the night and the restaurant area was closed so we ate at the lounge which hosts a separate menu. The lounge is quite small but has a few long, collapsible, plastic-surface, picnic tables at which 6 or more people can be seated. On this particular evening the lounge appeared to be almost entirely catering towards a dancing/drinking scene complete with blaring music, live "DJ", and few dancing patrons. The floors were also quite filthy which I forgave considering how it was more like a bar than an eatery at this time, but what I could not ignore was that there was a liquid spill on the floor near the popcorn machine which remained for the duration of our visit despite servers traversing it to refill the popcorn. <br/><br/>It should be noted that on this occasion we were informed that there were no refills on fountain pop which was odd due to the fact that one of my party members had eaten in the lounge earlier and had free refills. The dishes sampled were: Chicken 'Boobies' and Blue and Gold Burger.<br/><br/>The Chicken Boobies ($8) are a set of 4 sliders made with breaded chicken breast sauced in Frank's Red Hot Sauce. The chicken breast is topped with a slice of lettuce and tomato and served in a toasted mini bun. The dish also included fries. The fries seemed grossly overdone as evidenced by the change in color from golden to brown and underseasoned. The chicken breasts themselves were good but alas they were unable to save the remainder of the slider. The lettuce on average was disproportionately large compared to the bun. The tomatoes were lukewarm at best and took on a texture as if they had been sitting at room-temperature for far too long. The slice of tomato in each slider was also disproportionately large. The meat was also quite small in comparison to the bun thus each bite was predominated by the texture of the lettuce of the bun and the flavor tended to be quite overwhelmed with the blue cheese. Had they used a piece of chicken that was proportionate to the rest of the size of the rest of the slider the texture and flavors would not have been so imbalanced. On 2/4 of my sliders the buns were quite burned and inedible, this was brought to the attention of the server who offered to get me new ones or talk to the manager and see what he could do. The manager never actually came to my table to check on the burnt buns unlike in most restaurants and simply passed on a message to the server to give me a 25% discount on my food for which 50% of the sliders were inedible. The fact that the manager never actually came to our table to check on a complaint from a patron was offensive.<br/><br/>The Bold Blue N' Gold burger ($11) was made of a sirloin stuffed with pickles, blue cheese, bacon, mushrooms, and onions. Despite the appeal of this item on the menu, the actual burger was another disappointment. The Burger-Bun ratio was tilted towards the bun and in combination with the poorly seasoned sirloin, made each bite quite flavorless and dominated by the texture of the bun. This menu item does not come with fries and it is DEFINITELY not an $11 burger. Fries must be added on for an additional $2.<br/><br/>Despite the outwardly tempting menu and low prices, things are not what they appear. Many items on the lounge menu may seem fairly priced but they do not include fries. They are also poorly executed in terms of preparation (lack of seasoning, poor portioning). Although our server was polite, service from management needs improvement. I also strongly believe that the rating on urbanspoon is quite representative of this establishment. I do not recommend the lounge at this restaurant as a place to grab a late night bite.
Out And About
"Hit" and "Miss". It was our first time dinning last night. "Hit" the service was great so thats always a bonus. We ordered New York Steak and 12"Lobster Tail Dinner..."miss" :( The lobster meat was dry and tough we couldn't even cut through it. So for $35 a plate...fail. The steak was cooked as requested, however whenever you need to add salt to a steak you know it doesn't have much flavour. The mushrooms that came on top, were awfully greasy and shrivelled to a blackness. Perhaps the other menu items would suffice. Would I go back?...

Expensive place but the escargot and onion soup was excellent

Keepin' it real!. For fifty years the Heights has been an honest to goodness neighborhood joint. <br/><br/>There's an atmosphere of comfortable, one might even say, cultivated shabbiness that makes it the kind of place where you can settle in for the night, or the next fifty years if you so desired. <br/><br/>The restaurant is a clean, simple and fairly up to date space where the kitchen ably delivers expected staples. <br/><br/>But it's in the lounge where, in my opinion, the Heights' charm truly rests.<br/><br/>A large bar predominates, a few tables scattered here and there, and it has the unmistakable feel of a pub. Not a crude knock off, or even an attempt at doing so, but a truly Canadian local where flyboys from the CFB alike come for lunch, dinner, drinks and vie for the affections of the servers.<br/><br/>It's hoserdom is proudly prounounced by a banner which hangs in the overflow slash karaoke bar where plastic social tables seat would be singers--Mondays and Wednesdays we accept Canadian Tire Money.<br/><br/>It doesn't get any more Winnipeg than this.<br/><br/>At least until you discover the wing-chos on the menu (nachos topped with hot wings). A personal favourite is the wimpy platter, sliders from some kind of pre-fab patty. Although four does not in my opinion constitute a platter, I ordered it times three and managed, through many meat sweats, to eat the entire dozen, an ingestion of 1 1/2 pounds of meat that I dare you to repeat. <br/><br/>You'll find all the basic beers in bottle and on tap or do the dirty, pour back a pint of their daringly named Sheights Lager and settle in for a few (nights).

Dinner. We had heard good things about this restaurant. The atmosphere was okay and the service was prompt. Service is what makes or breaks a business and it was just par the might we visited. will give it another shot one day when in the area.

Will probably stick to mainstream for ribs. I had heard so much about their famous ribs that when I was in that part of town I couldn't resist stopping by to try them.. <br/><br/>First the service was pretty lousy.. They did have a few larger parties that evening but that's hardly an excuse to leave me and my date with an empty drink for most of the night. Also the food took extremely long to actually come out but that may have just been my particular experience and didn't kill the night.<br/><br/>The french onion soup was great when it finally showed up I really enjoyed it and think that was probably the best part of the meal. <br/><br/>The Cesar salad included with the meal was pretty tasty but probably about half the size of a usual salad included with a meal.. it seemed like it was served on a desert plate.<br/><br/>When the main course showed up nearly an hour later I was stoked to try the ribs.. They were OKAY... I wouldn't put them anywhere near "the best ribs in town" they claim. They weren't the best prepared in the world though the meat was decent and the sauce was again okay. The potions weren't huge either.<br/><br/>It was served with rice which tasted like they boiled some rice and threw it on my plate with not even butter or salt on it.. I have never tasted rice so bland.<br/><br/>It was also served with a few pieces of cauliflower and broccoli and a few carrot rounds which were somewhat underdone and flavorless (unseasoned) and very non spectacular.<br/><br/>I found the end cost to be quite high for what was served and i could have went to a high end chain restaurant for the same money and got much better food and service.<br/><br/>Again I might have come at a bad time or something but even then the mediocre food with the high price tag doesn't really warrant a return visit. <br/><br/>For me this place fell just short of a like at probably 45% Had any of the elements of my experience been better I probably would have liked it but not went out of my way to go back again.
Sue
GREAT. I have been a regular for many years now! Service is fast and friendly, food is always delicious, prices are average.<br/>helpful hint if you are going for the ribs order the baby back ribs if you want them to fall off the bone, if you want chew off the bone order the beef bone dinner.<br/>I will always recommend this restaurant.

Breakfast....1130 am. Had "The Mixer" as an egg white omelette which was packed with ham, bacon, onions, red/ green peppers, green onions, mushrooms and cheese...served with hash browns, toast and tea for $9.25. Service was prompt and friendly...just a little too much oil on the potatoes and omelette for my taste. They claim to have great ribs though which I may have to check out one day !!!
Fester0
How do they do it??. Food has not changed in years.. still the boring old ribs.. which are more fat and grisle than meat.. menu never seems to change.. 1st trip there in 15 years.. was hoping it would change for the better..
Intrepid Diner
Overrated. This place advertises the best ribs in Winnipeg and I think it falls far short of that mark.<br/><br/>I've tried this place and came away unimpressed. The meal was by no means horrible, but it was simply average at best. The sauce on the ribs was slightly tangy (I prefer sweet) and the meat was quite chewy...no fall off the bone here. <br/><br/>Service was good and the prices were not sky high, but there are far better choices to make than t his place.

Everything from the Heights looks and tastes fresh, including the bread which comes steaming hot, meltingly soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Take the well-made food, couple it with the great attention to detail and present it with expert service and you end up with a wonderful dining experience. I hope the Heights sticks around for another 50 years.
