Was here yesterday for breakfast, and it's always good food. The group I was with ordered ham/cheese omelette, spinach omelette, steak/eggs, garlic sausage/eggs, ad bacon/eggs. All breakfasts come with three eggs, the omelettes were huge and full of toppings. The steak was done perfectly, the garlic sausage was done well (6 rounds came with the platter), and the bacon was crunchy. All platters came with sliced hash browns, which IMO could've been cooked more so they weren't so soft.
LOVE their breakfast. If you like a fatboy you have to try their Philly Fries, basically everything you find on a fatboy on top of fries...soooo good. The triple patty Meech burger is also a must try for those with big appetites.
Picked up a Fatboy, small fries, and small gravy to go.
The Fatboy was piping hot, even after the short drive home. I fully expect a nice soft bun to suffer a little bit when taking it to go, but this one held up nicely to sitting in a wrapper for 10 minutes or more. The party is nicely seasoned, and with something more than just salt and pepper. The other toppings were also fresh and tasty.
The fries were deliciously golden and crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and there were SO MANY for a small order. The gravy was hot, nicely seasoned, and went perfectly on the fries.
Go again? For sure!

Huge menu selection. Came here for lunch and had the gyro. It came with a huge salad which was also pretty good. Great place for breakfast. Cash only
Went for breakfast and was not disappointed. I had the Hungry Jack and did not have to eat lunch that day. A solid choice for breakfast and I will be back to try lunch or dinner next time.
Edit: I went again today for the breakfast and had an older waitress (had a pleasant youger waitress last few times) and have to say she was pretty bad at her job. No refills on coffee and waters, just seemed like she could care less about service. Food was okay this time, some items took for ever to come out.
When I started working at St. Philip’s I also started to explore the neighbourhood restaurants. One of the first was the Marion Street Eatery. At the time I noticed there were a couple of other restaurants. Dairy Wip and Johnny’s, close by. I made a mental note of this, but unfortunately my memory isn’t what it once was, so I forgot my intention.
Excellent. Big portions. Homemade goodness. Very large and diverse menu. How did I not know this place existed all my life?
Reliable, Affordable, Delicious.. This place is the bomb. Best greasy spoon restaurant I've ate at so far in Winnipeg. Always going for the Marion burger, but have had the lasagna before too. Every time I leave this place I'm stuffed, like ridiculously stuffed. The burgers are amazing. There's a reason this place has been open for so long, when you have food and prices like this people will come and not worry about the interior because they're too busy eating delicious food. Every time I go to another restaurant I'm thinking damn I wish I would've just gone to Johnny's. One of Winnipegs best restaurants, indubitably. Service is great and attentive. Nothing but praise from everyone else that talks about this place.

Really Friendly Server!. We came here for supper today. I had been here once before for brunch about three years ago. It was okay then, and today I just wanted to try it again. The décor is nothing to write home about, but it was okay. I ordered the club house sandwich on rye (only two slices of toast for me) which is made with REAL turkey. It was really good, although it could have been better if the turkey was not fridge-cold. The platter comes with a tiny container of coleslaw, which was good - and I would have enjoyed a bit more, and home made fries. They were good. I got gravy on the side, which was also very flavourful. My bf ordered a burger (not sure of the name, but it had chili on it). It was a great big messy burger, but he enjoyed it. The server was very friendly and enthusiastic, and seemed to enjoy her job. She knew the menu well, when we had questions, before we ordered. She said the desserts were great, and huge, but the portion sizes of our dinners were very generous, so we had no room to try dessert. The server suggested we come back some time just for the dessert! Maybe we will . . . .
Bring cash, because they don't accept cards of any sort, but there is an ATM on site.
Great Breakfast!. Hungry Jack breakfast is awesome! 3 eggs, 2 slices thick cut bacon, half a slice of ham, 2 oversized breakfast sausages, half a plate of fried sliced potatoes, (I ordered them with fried onions), 2 pieces of toast and 2 pancakes! Eggs were done perfectly! Can't beat the potatoes! All for only $10.00

Picture yourself walking up to the door of this restaruant and smelling goodness. Ahhhh. You order a Meech burger. It comes to your table piled nearly half a foot high. Three patties, chili, tomato, fresh lettuce, fried mushrooms, chopped onions, a pickle, two kinds of cheese and bacon. Your tastebuds howl with anticipation. Your mind starts wondering how you will be able to eat this burger. Your first bite. Unbelievable. You finish the burger completely satisfied, wonting for naught.
Anyone searching for a burger experience needs to try the Meech - it will not dissapoint. One of the best burgers in WInnipeg....Top 3 for sure.
Best burgers I've had. Awesome burger, I had a double bacon burger and fries, good price and even better food. You really get what you pay for. Not the nicest inside but who cares about the look as long as its good food right?

I don't think it quite tops the fat boy from across the street, in my books, but this was excellent. Easily in my top 5 winnipeg burgers, which says a lot.
Great value too! $8 flat for a fat boy and fries. Good sized portions, excellent quality food. I will be coming back here for sure.
Awesome!!!. This is one of the tastiest burgers in Winnipeg and probably my favorite burger ever. Actually, for me they're probably tied with Dairy Delight for my favorite burgers. Fries are homemade and awesome. Their breakfasts are huge and taste great. Love this place!
