Review Earls Kitchen + Bar - Winnipeg

It’s a good place to go for a once in while experience for a good sit down with family. Flavour wise, I have had better. But it’s definitely not that bad.

Awesome service! We were served a well done steak instead of medium and the manager personally checked in on us, brought us a medium steak and didn’t charge for our meal at all! Kai went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable.

I love this Earl's location! Favourite place to hang with friends. The staff are friendly and food is amazing. The staff get to know regulars and know your order. My most recent experience this past Monday evening, the hostess was great managing all the guests on a busy night. It was right before new restrictions were going to be implemented and the restaurant was busy. I still got served quickly with friendly service. The front hostess Ella was super friendly. Great food, great staff. Highly recommend.

Lovely cozy place to dine! Friendly staff and amazing food!

Well located restaurant with great view and amazing staffs. Their menus are great and the meals are sumptuous at a reasonable price.

Overall great service and even better food! The steaks were cooked to perfection. The vegan cauliflower wings and dip was better than we’ve had before. The service was prompt. The atmosphere was awesome. Loved the plants behind the bar 👌🏽 Great place for drinks or delicious food in an awesome atmosphere! Would highly recommend!

I have been here before but it's been awhile since my return. The food from what I remember in the past was fine. I ordered the rhino fries during their happy hour. I probably would not order it again. It was pretty mediocre and we left half of it untouched. The drinks we ordered were okay. I was surprised that the server didn't ask us if the food was okay since we left half of it. Based on this visit I would have given a 3, but having gone the before I have had better experiences. There is a large parking lot that is dedicated to Earl's on main however the capacity is very large in the restaurant and the lot does fill up.

Great patio and decent service! I had the chicken brie & fig sandwich with garlic fries. It was very good and the fries were great with fresh garlic and red onion mixed into them. Service was good and the patio was spaced out according to Manitoba guidelines.

Was there Thursday evening on the patio. Service was terrible. Had the steak it was terrible chewy even at medium rare Service was excruciating slow. Ordered wine with dinner well before dinner came to the table ordered sides with the meal and they came out after dinner was served and eaten was not busy at all. When I went to use the restroom all the servers were in the front lobby gossiping. ...UGH... not going back

Tuesday night on the patio with live music and half priced wine.... can't ask for much more! Awesome. Candace was a friendly and fantastic server- she is the best.

Went with a group of co-workers last night to watch the Jets game and our server Anna and Candace were amazing. Great service, great good!! Super friendly staff. Highly recommend going to Earls on Main! Thanks Anna and Candace!

I was there Thursday, August 10, 2017. Ordered an Earl's burger around 9:15ish. 50 minutes later it showed up. And those patio bench are not the best. Too low for the tables.
Susan Desjardine
We sat in the lounge and are not big sports fans so was disappointed that when the Jets game came on the sound was turned on so super loud we had to yell across the table st each other to be heard. I ordered salmon and specically asked for it to be cooked on the rare side. When it came it was so over cooked that it was actually burnt on the bottom. They took that plate and by the time they made another my partner was finished eating. The second salmon was cooked properly but i are alone. There was no accommodation on the bill (which was over $200) for the error. The server was friendly and my partners steak was really good as was our appetizers.

Service was terrible. Waited 20 mins before a server came. Then about 20 for my drink. Then another 15 before I was able to make a order for food. Then 45 mins after my food came out cold. I could understand if it was insane busy but half the place was empty. All the servers always seem like they are high as fuck. Walking around like zombies. Earls st vital is always great and never a issue at polo.

Had dinner at Earl's tonight! Matt is the best server! (table 41-outstanding view of the kitchen). Everyone was nice and friendly. The food was perfectly prepared and tasted delicious. I'd come back again!!
Karsey Roche
Waiting for over an hour for a glass of wine... highly disappointed. Wouldn't recommend going there on a weekend.
Dawn van den Broek
Best patio in the city, always great drinks, food, and service. Favorite spot to go for a nice dinner experience.
Corinne Kopansky
One of my favourite places! The cocktails are delicious, highly recommend the strawberry marg....it's not too sweet and they squeeze their own line juice! The taco soup right now is so addictive, they really do have a great seasonal line up! The ribs though....fall off the bone EVERY time! What makes it so great are the people though! They all make you feel at home and like you're the only customer there, very accommodating! Thanks again for a great night 👍🏼

Wing Night wings were so small they would not have made nuggets and I asked for an Ice tea it was so full of Ice i maybe got 3 sips I asked for less so it could last a bit longer but that never happened. The company and sauce was awesome but over all what a let down

After being seated at our table for almost 15 min with no one aknowleding our presence I finally had to find someone to get a server to our table. A manager did come over to apologize but first impression was already in the books. Service of food was slow and meals were warm not hot.
Larry Sulatyski
We ate on the patio! The drinks and food were great but the chairs-seats or what you call them are really hard to get in and out off and are uncomfortable to sit on! Im talking about those bigger ones that seat 4-6 peop[e. Foot rests are also awkward and you need them cause you are high up! Our waitress was awseome!!
Tom Saj
Awesome service. Great food. Live music on Tuesday was perfect! Will be back! Management was superb. Everything was top notch

Last I was in an earls (2 weekends ago), the service was terrible took half an hour to get drinks orders taken with a table of about 8 and when asked where the server was the Manager gives a snotty "Well, who poured the waters then?" rather than promptly sending someone over. Furthermore the waitress seemed scattered/lazy, forgot drinks, and skipped people on food orders. Lastly while up at the bar for shots in hopes of quicker service I asked the girl if they were understaffed as service seems a little slow. She gives a throwback answer "I'm sorry YOU feel it's slow...", I told her taking half an hour for simply drinks for a table of 8 is absolutely slow. This was at the #EarlsMain location where you'd ultimately expect nicer staff and more attentive service. Nothing in regards to the food (as we barley recieved any) but it really left a bad taste in our mouths and a terrible start to our friend's birthday dinner. Extremely disappointed as this location is supposed to be one of the top. Kind of disgusting even.
Ron Bacon
Meh....not one condiment on any tables I noticed. Nothing special, probably not go again

I received this advertisement on Facebook approx 30 minutes after mentioning to a friend that I do not want to go to Earls. Very disappointed earls is advertising on Facebook, a conservative company that eavesdrops on their users by accessing their mic’s. Not the first time Facebook has violated my privacy #zuckerbergsucks

A great spot to meet people and have both a meal or a drink. The prices are pretty affordable and better during happy hour. The food is delicious and i would definitely recommend it.

Wow, the downtown location is the testing kitchen and I am guessing the training store for new staff. I ordered the “Hot chicken Caesar which I’ve ordered for 20yrs. They served me a iceberg Lettuce salad with a small grilled chicken breast on the side. WTF, really? The waitress who I think was 12, tried to tell that’s the way it has always been. I sent the salad back and just picked up the tab for 3 others that enjoyed their meal. I actually worked at Earls in Calgary in 1989, and have been a loyal customer. I will NEVER EVER go to this location again. Hey Earl “ teenage models are not good servers” nuff said!

I have always enjoyed eating at Earls, I find their food extremely consistent and their selection excellent. The ambiance is always nice and their wait staff are generally all very attractive.

I ended up going to Earl’s a couple of times over the last few weeks for work luncheons and for drinks in the evening to catch up with friends who are back in town for the Christmas season.

As to be expected the restaurant is full of energy and is actually quite noisy, but this is to be expected and if you want a quieter ambiance any of number of Earl’s competitors with similar theme would be a better fit.

Generally, there isn’t really anything on the menu with which I’ve disliked. The one exception is the Dynamite Roll, I have no idea why this thing sells. The rice is no good and neither is the filling. But asides for that, everything else is a hit.
Yer Lil' Cannoli
I haven't been to Earls in awhile. It used to be the go to place after work for the corporate/business types on a Friday night. Than they brought in a dj....as if it wasn't loud enough and the early 20s crowd, took some great things off the menu like the bento box and the feta dip and the prices went up. Was there last night and really pleasantly surprised with the happy hour menu. I ordered the margherita pizza which was so delish! My friends ordered as well the pizza, garlic fries, sweet potato fries and a crispy shrimp dish that had a beautiful curry dipping sauce. Really great food and portion sizes were perfect. Ridiculously cheap as the wine was $5 a glass, the pizza and fries were $3 each! Can't wait to go back, they need more staff though as service was great but slow because they were so busy. Well done Earls!

Recently had the most amazing dining experience here. We recently had a terrible experience at the polo park location and after speaking with the regional manager, we were asked if we could try the downtown location to make up for it. We were a party of 10 and the server and the manager on duty took excellent care of us. They were attentive, the food wAs good as always. They even gave my son a gift and a tour of the kitchen. Overall can’t express how much we enjoyed our most recent visit here.
Westfoodie
this place has a not so bad menu, but for years they have such terrible servers. if you are not male or with a big group good luck trying to get service. also it's so unbelievably loud and they don't have noise absorbers for a fancy ish restaurant, you are basically yelling at your company bc another table is obnoxiously loud. if you are just alone or with one person they don't acknowledge you. i've been here for events and birthdays and NEVER has the service ever been good, you have go up to the bar to remind your server that you would like to eat instead of just sit there with water. last time i came here with a friend we had to go up to the bar and tell our server our order because she left us hanging for 25
mins with just water. i don't recommend this place if you are to get a quick bite or meal, especially as a woman you'll be waiting all night to be served.
Gloria
Very cute place. The try to visit every time I am in downtown. The staff is very nice and great service. each dish is unique and fun. The drinks are very good I hear, but I usually just go with wine. I am a wine person. The steak wasn't so good the frst time I tried it, but it was done very well ever since. Maybe I wasn't that lucky that day. Love the place.
Karli Siggy
Mediocre at best. Food was okay, the pasta was undercooked and had a very watery bland sauce. The service was below average but the restaurant has a nice ambience and good parking considering it is located down town.
Melody
Again, another restaurant that is so loud you can't even hear yourself think. The service is always lacking and I find the menu to be overpriced for what you get. I've been to this location a few times but have never had a good experience.
Marion
Ate at Earls for the first time as a celebration for my citizenship ceremony. I ordered the Louisiana Chicken sandwich with slaw paired with garlic fries. It was so good. I will definitely come back and try some other food from the menu

Went for dinner this Saturday night. 2 Caesars, one appetizer, one fish and chips and one bibimbap. Nothing to write home about. The bibimbap had a weird taste to it and the rice was hard. Service wasn't great either. Our server was overwhelmed and couldn't keep up with all of his tables. Overall it was a mediocre meal for $72 for two people. Lots of much better restaurants in Winnipeg with much better food that would cost less. I don't mind paying for good food, but I would not waste my time coming here again. Thank God I had a gift card to use.

Great place to catch up with the girls! I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Food selection was great and drink selection was different. Fast friendly service!

Went here after a Jets game, and it was actually pretty cool inside there. Pretty close to the arena, so not bad to walk, even during a blizzard. Love the clam chowder; best in the city!

I was there with a large group on the weekend for a birthday. Greeted promptly at the door, seated immediately. Our server quickly got us drinks and took our order. Food came super fast and was all hot and tasty. I really liked that as soon as we were done eating our dishes were cleared. We were offered dessert and of course we couldn't resist. I had the sticky toffee pudding and it came out so incredibly fast. It was delicious! My water never had a chance to become empty because she paid close attention. Great experience!
Sweet Tooth
Goodness, their food is AWFUL. The waitress was really annoying. I ordered a steak and it came out burnt, it was just so horrible. I could hardly eat it, and I know I should have let the server know about it. I got really sick the night I ate here. I won't come back.
S
Love the Happy Hour specials! Good has definitely improved over time and the additions to the menu have not disappointed the quinoa powerbowl and the street tacos are some of my favourite dishes.
Prips
A nice place to enjoy a good drink and pub food. I normally order pub food at this place and had the dry ribs that night and it was good. Nice selection of wine and beers on the tap. The place can be loud inside and when it gets busy hard to get a seat at the patio. Fast and friendly service. Parking can be a challenge at times.
Jan Williams
Meh, Earls is ok. Service has been so bad the past few times I've been here. The food is always pretty tasty but the service is what's lacking.
Food Snob
I don't think I have ever paid for a meal here although have been here about 4 times too many.
It's a meat factory, and not the edible kind.
Great for the young crowd as a spot. Not good if you want good food.
Prices are nonsense as so is the food quality and prep.
It a great cosmetic restaurant, The food is just there to give something to do while socializing.
Great Location. Great Parking, but a food place. NOPE

Best Steak!. Went there with friends for lunch last Friday in April and they did not have the awesome fish & chips so I did a
7oz CAB sirloin.

It was tender, hot, and had the perfect seasoning.

My 2 guests thought the same.

100%

and the place was packed!

For supper tonight, my colleague, Glenn, and I went to Earls. It was such a nice night so we sat on the patio. Many had the same idea. We both ordered a pint of their Rhino Pale Ale, which is brewed by Muskoka Brewery in Ontario. Glenn ordered the Royale Burger with Cheese and fries. He said the burger was delicious ... the patty was very moist and juicy. He'd get it again. I ordered Jeera Chicken Curry. I've had it before at Earls and it was delicious! Carolina was our server. She was friendly and took good care of us.
Ralph
Usually lunch, hot soup, little expensive for what you get. Friendly staff.
Holly McNally
The noodle bowl had few vegetables and a sour taste. The restaurant is overpriced for the quality of food.
The service was fine.

Beautiful. Earls is always a treat. The decor, the food itself, the booths and of course the staff are beautiful and keep bringing us back. I would say the servers' rocking it are a little downgraded nowadays because they are successful so probably do not need to try as hard but Earls is still quite good.
Kat
I ve been here several times. It's okay to go for a drink or two. But the service is absolutely HORRIBLE. The last time I was here it was about 11 at night and I went for a few appys with a friend from out of town. We sat in the dining room because the lounge was too loud/busy. There was only 2 other tables in the dining room. It took the server 10 minutes to greet us another 20 minutes until we go our drinks. When she dropped off our drinks we were ready to order but our server rudely walked away and disappeared for another 10 minutes. Finally we had to get up and ask the manager to get her for us so we could order. Our food didn't come out for another 20 minutes. Once the food came out the server didn't check how our meals were tasting even ONCE. Finally came by after we had piled our empty plates to the side. But was SOOO quick and eager to bring us our bill and do our payment. Next time I decide to go to an earls there's no chance in hell I'm going back to this location. At least the Polo park location has quick and efficient service whose waitresses actually DESERVE the tip.

SwizzleStyx. Had lunch here yesterday and it was very good! I've eaten here many times and have always been satisfied. Quite often we just order a bunch of appetizers and wine and it's delicious and fun. Yesterday I had the Caesar salad and clam chowder and loved it. Have had the chowder before and it's very yummy, and the Caesar salad has kale in it which is an interesting and tasty twist. Yes it's loud here and yes the servers are scantily clad but it's a fun and upbeat atmosphere with an interesting menu and tasty food.
Jon M
Food decent, decent price, atmosphere I shake my head at, saw something I won't forget.

I'm usually satisfied with the food but not so much the bill. I enjoy the scantily dressed gals, but they should try to dress and act a tad more classy, and not so coke loving college girls. But I know that will never happen as the restaurant is always busy and why change what works eh?

Now for what I witnessed: this summer we came in for lunch and were seated with a certain view of the kitchen. I was watching one of the chefs at the wood pizza oven (or whatever you called it) and was interested in how he was putting I believe cooked steaks in a pan. As the guy flipped the steak he dropped the tongs or what're metallic thing he had in his hand on the floor. I watched him pick it up and use it again like 30 seconds later. I was in disbelief. I'm sure that happens most places as in general most don't care, but to do it so carefree and not even look around to see that I was watching him bothers me. What's the point of telling management? I'm sure he'd reprimand the chef who will promise never to do it again and life will go on. But things like this leave a lasting impression. It won't deter me from eating there but come on.

Dinner. Took a friend to dinner and had a very good experience.

Chef experience. We went as part of a large group this week for a "chef experience" that a friend won at a social. We were very impressed with the incredible menu and drink selections, and even though the food was slow due to the high volume of business, the service was impressive. They were very accomodating to the specific dietary concerns with our group as well.
This should be a regular feature at the chain, as everyone dining agreed they would easily pay 100-150 per couple to do this again.
Laci
I was horrified on my only experience here. We booked for 14 people and when we arrived that had 7 people sit at a different table! When we asked our server, she stated because we didn't Specify that we wanted to sit together this is protocol. I can honestly say, I will never be eating here again.
TheChristellar
Consistent Favourite. Despite how I generally feel about franchises: always a unique, quality and overall favourite dining experience. Not to mention my favourite patios in the city.

I have been visiting the Main St. & Polo locations for the past 5 years and I've not once had a less-than-stellar visit. Great food, lovely service and a really dynamic menu. I LOVE their steaks, their signature cocktails; and I have not found anywhere else in the city yet that compares their burgers in my opinion.

If I am not in the mood to visit somewhere new, I usually choose Earl's. Whether you feel like having a casual visit or a formal evening you can always consider them.
Deb Browns
Went here the other night for dinner. Being a vegetarian, earls isn't my usual choice of restaurants to done at, but we were in the area and there's parking so decided to give it a try. Our waiter was really friendly and it turns out they had a special vegetarian menu too. I got the portobello and roasted red pepper sandwich on grilled sourdough with cheese and spinach. I was surprised how good it was and literally took 10 minutes to come out on a busy Friday night. Impressed
Iluvskittles
Boring food and crappy service. If you need to hire supermodels in mini-skirts to sell your brand, chances are your brand's not worth it.
Nicehall823
Average Food Garnished with Usless sexaulity. Look, I get the fact that the world revolves around Sexuality and all the "pleasures" found in it. But I dont care how many 21 year old waitreses they parade around to promote their brand. The food is average and the service is worse then Michael Jacksons fourth nose job.
Don
Excellent Cajun Chicken!. Earl's prepares excellent Cajun Blackened Chicken. Very juicy and delicious! However, the atmosphere is very, very noisy.
Maria Twohearts
Pretty good. My first time trying this over the may long weekend. I had the burger and poutine. The burger was big and flavorful. The poutine wasn't that great. The gravy didn't taste that great. I would go again to try the other stuff on there menu.

I have gone to this restuarant for years! My husband and I went here while we dated an throughout our engagement and pregnancy. The food & service has always been hit & miss. But now that we have a baby, we went out for dinner and realized they don't have high chairs, change tables in the bathrooms or even smaller portions of side foods at a smaller price. It put us off to the point where we won't be returning anymore. Earls Winnipeg has officially lost two 15 year plus regulars.
Dexie
Horrible Customer Service. My husband & I went there with our 1 yr daughter for a large birthday party in the restaurant. Sat down and followed to ask for a highchair. Then got told by the server that they don't have highchairs.

The server asked if I wanted to talk to the manager I said sure. I asked the manager why they didn't have highchairs and she began to that "we" as in a "family" are not there clientele!

My husband got extremely mad and we left. I did return later as I felt bad for the birthday girl. Only to get a mediocre sandwich and cold over cooked fries.

When arriving home I looked up earls website - which begins to state they "welcome families", a family owned restaurant. added to the website is a press sections, in there is a press release about how they don't need or want highchairs in there restaurants. Suggests to bring your own portable. (as if everyone reads earls press releases?!!!!!!!)

Decided to send a email to the office, told them I thought it was rather rude and discriminatory the way the manager treated us.

They responded with a copy & paste email from there press release.

All in all....
Earls is not family friendly, and was extremely rude to us. Just because we have a baby doesn't mean we don't go out. Lost big business from us.
Snozzintreats
Go back. Nice Girls, Decent Food. Great drinks.

Need I say more?
D
Rude rude rude. Went there for a friends birthday, there was maybe 20 people at our table(s), the birthday girl's boyfriend had asked the waitress what the price of a caesar was as we were not provided a drink menu and it wasn't listed in the regular menu, her reply was "If you're asking about prices, you're in the wrong place." I couldn't believe it. That is the most rude thing I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Never ever going back there, unbelievable how stuck up some people can be. Needless to say, she did not get a single cent tip from anyone at our party of 20.
Randy Reynolds
The worst pretzel ever. I eat at Earl's quite often and the food is consistently OK. It's a great place fpr drinks and appies. Last night, however, I was sorely disappointed by the fare. I ordered "three cheese pretzel dip" and my wife ordered "butterilk fried chicken sandwich". Both fell below expectations. The pretzels were presented beautifully in a little brown paper bag on a tray with some picled cucumber and a jar of hot mustard as well as the cheese dip. The pretzels were the worst ever. They were more like mini-buns, soft, bland and lacking chewiness. The dip turned to glue within minutes of arrival. I give the dish a 2 out of ten. The buttermilk fried chicken sandwich was also disappointing. The fried chicken which should have been crisp was soggy. In fact the whole sandwich was kind of soggy. The flavor was reminiscent of something you might find on a food truck but freshness and flavor weren't there. I give the sanwich a 3 out of 10. Keep trying guys.

Friendly service. Good food. Don't really get the hate on for Earl's. I think people just complain cause they're "above" going to chain restaurant. Because it's a chain its automatically bad? Went here for a lunch with a friend but we had only the lunch hour before we had to get back to work and chose it cause there's free parking. Greeted by girl up front and informed her we'd like to sit whereveer the service is faster. She sat us on the patio. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Upon receiving our meal the girl from upfront came by to check if it had come fast enough, which it did. I ordered a chicken sandwhich which I really liked. Price on par with other similar types of restaurants. Service was good as was the food. Earl's will remain a go to as I've consistently been served well there.
Edible Aficionado
Fantastic as usual. I recently went for lunch. The place was packed but the assistant manager was very nice and found us a table. Our waitress was really good Great service. I had the Cajun chicken sandwich. The best in the city. The fries if ordered extra crispy are really good. I have been here many times and the food and service are consistently good. I went to the earls in st vital and what a disappointment The food service and cleanliness were horrible. But the main st earls is awesome

Touch-Up, aisle 4. Earl's. A cookie cutter box franchise pub grub meets easily produced entrees that sound "cool" restaurant. For eats, you can definitely do worse. The thing about Earl's is the atmosphere. The vibe the Main Street branch pushes is so tight ass, I feel like I walked into a museum of life sized barbie dolls that are waiting for Ken... and I am not Ken. People stand way too straight and hope way too damn much that someone will notice them. Only if you sweat cocaine and have an entourage of 12 will these zomberific-cutouts respond. Even then, its a nervous glance and attempt to stand up straighter. I think this place is reserved for the pretentious doofuses that grace our world with telescopic philanthropy, "mommy" issues and fake tans. Make my pre-game a soda with the crew at a Winnipeg landmark...and it sure as Fraiser, ain't Earl's.
Mark Kidd
Over priced and food is average. Derivable a joke, plan on waiting and dinner lasting forever, I willl never go back, since have tired it 3 times and it is always the same, gave it a chance to prove it was not just a bad day.
Amanda
Great food and drinks, Awesome patio. I used to not really be into Earls, a lot of the time the servers think they are so much better than you, walking around in their too tight clothing, only giving good service to good looking men. Over the past year I have been going here more often, and am starting to love it. The best part is the patio on a nice sunny day. Great for after work drinks and dinner. I also love their wings! Always go for wings and sangria with my girlfriends on Wednesdays as they are only $5.50 per pound, which is a great price. I also love their chicken tacos! So fresh. Their drinks, while over priced when they are not having a drink special, are very good.
Krumfaust
I don't at all mind the wait staff in the skimpy clothes, but I do mind the massive price gouging for slightly better than standard chain restaurant food and wine. Aside from some of the appetizers, and the patio, and the eye-candy, this place should be left for the buissnessmen that don't know any better, or tourists.
DineoutGal
Just stick with the patio and appys. The best part of this place is their patio. It's great for after work drinks on a nice sunny late afternoon. They have a decent selection of wines by the glass and of course lots of mixed drinks and beer. Food wise...well it's the same as any of the other Earls you've tried in Western Canada. I like their hot wings, calamari and dry ribs - great shareable items. But I wouldn't spend too much on their other items because I'd rather have dinner elsewhere. But Earls does well in the appetizer section.

On a side note, I find that the crowd is definitely getting older. The patio crowd was more like late thirties women and the men seemed to be more in their mid to late forties. The youngest tables were probably ours plus a handful more in our vicinity. The middle aged dudes look like those douchey real estate agent types who drive around in some mid-life crisis sports car. LOL...not sure why that profile came to mind but that's the sense I got.

Service is hit and miss as they didn't really keep up with our drink orders. But that being said, it was one of the rare hot days so far this year so maybe they were understaffed. Also love how comfy their patio furniture are as there are tons of cushions and not just cheap outdoor rattan or plastic stuff that kills your butt after an hour.
Matthew Glenn Holland
Always Enjoy. I always enjoy going to Earls, having a few apps and brews in the bar. But this Earls in comparison to other Earls I have visited in Alberta just does not stand up when it comes to entree's. I don't want to say that they are bad by any stretch but they just do not have the quality of their Western counterparts.
Intrepid Diner
Overall It is a Quality Experience. I have been to this location over 20 times. Most of my visits have been for lunch.

I must admit, I enjoy seeing the eye candy that they employ as servers. Yes, the waitresses are all very attractive. It is a very poorly kept secret that this is a criteria for being hired. However, Earl's didn't invent this technique and there are other restaurants and bars all over the world that follow suit.

However, the food and service is the key. It is also what keeps bringing me back. The service is always friendly and attentive. It can get slow when it is really busy. Otherwise I have no complaints. They have never got my order wrong.

The food is a tad expensive. However I have always enjoyed my meals. I like their burgers and I enjoy the sweet chili chicken that they serve. Their version of garlic bread is one of the best I've tasted in Winnipeg. Portions are ample. Refills on soft drinks are free.

Others have commented on how noisy this place can get and that is a valid point. When this place is busy, it is very noisy. In the warm weather people can opt for the patio which is somewhat quieter.

While this place isn't perfect, it offers consistency and an acceptable value for my money. That is why I keep returning.
Dennis
Not the best in Winnipeg. Food so-so, service fair and very expensive. Very pricey "eye candy".

Yeah, not so much .... Have servers in skimpy outfits does nothing for me, and it's hard to hold a conversation as the noise travels. I'll go back when they start hiring male servers. Whatever happened to "equal opportunity"?

It was SO good! Loved the food, great atmosphere...the only thing I didn't like was the servers attire--some went a bit overkill on the short skirted slut look. Other than that the food and drinks were great!

Loud and pricey. If you want to look at hot girls, sure. Food is not bad. I always think Earl's is on the pricier side for what you get. However, it's so loud inside that it's not enjoyable to eat dinner there. The bar however is a different story. The lounge area has good atmosphere if you're there with your buddies, drink some beer and hang out.

Most Over Rated Hands Down!. My experiences at Earls have never been very memorable. The food is average at best. I have never had a meal there that has wowed me. Very average with no a lot of flavor. The servers are just as average. When I go out for dinner I want a server to be classy not trashy. Put some clothes on. I realize that management want to get the men in the door with these type of servers but there is a whole demographic out there with money to spend that they are overlooking. This is the last place I would go to eat. Very over rated. There are so many better places to go to in the city.

The service was good and wait staff was friendly however, the food is way to over priced for it's mediocre quality.

This was an excellent resteraunt. Great food, freindly people, and fast service. I went during spring break and the resteraunt was packed and we got our food within 15 minutes. I would get the beef dip with a cesar salad if I went there again because that is what I had last time. Another great feature is that it is right next to polo park mall so you can shop and eat on the same day while wasting less gas.

Head Chef Matt Frost contacted me and said that he’s very excited about their new Brunch menu. We’ve always had good food at Earls but when the chef takes the time to invite you down, there must be something good on the horizon.

D and I were out of town this week, with a road trip to Minneapolis. We did a little bit of resting, a little bit of shopping and a lot of eating. “No surprise”, you say. Details of our eating adventures will follow ina blog post to come. In the meantime, Sister #3 was available to sub-in for me to an invitation from Earl’s to taste their spring menu. “To say that spring is slow in arriving this year would be an understatement. It is almost the end of April and there is still snow and ice in our yards. But we got a taste of spring last night as Earl’s unveiled their new spring menu at a chef’s table event at their Winnipeg Flagship store -191 Main Street. For our introductory course we sampled the new Whiskey Smash cocktail. A classic Whiskey Sour with honey and fresh mint served in a silver mint julep cup. Talk about refreshing! Leroy’s ribs are back by popular demand, or as the staff will tell you, more like a customer revolt when they disappeared off the menu recently to mak
