La pizza très très bonne. Vois la faites à vitre goût. Le personnel était très souriant et poli malgré le nombre très important de client en attente. C'est un concept qui devrait venir au Québec.
We love going to Za Pizza Bistro! They prepare the best pizza EVER! The crust is thin, and there are a wonderful variety of choices for sauce, cheese, meat and vegetable toppings. Great concept for awesome custom-made pizza at a super price!

This is the best pizza I have ever had! This is the only pizza I will eat now. I live in St James, wish you would have one out this way. I would have your pizza more often
Awesome pizza. I like the customizable pizza option and the prices are very reasonable
Our first time here. ...wow!! Best pizza ever! It's delicious and a great price. We'll be back for sure. Open one in Charleswood!
It was my second time going. Have a good selection of toppings and the service is quick and friendly. I feel the price is quite reasonable. Will be back
We love Za for great pizza at a great price. If you like to decide what you want in your pizza from end to end this is the place. Some say they are a little skimpy on toppings but I’ve always found if you ask for more of a topping they are happy to oblige. There may be some better pizzas out there but none we’ve found yet compete in price and variety.
We went to the one on Regent but it doesn’t seem to have its own page so I’m reviewing the other one. I like this place. I’ve tried Blaze which is the exact same concept on a bigger scale. The toppings were good and I liked the variety of dipping sauces. They were a bit skimpy on some toppings but it tasted great so I really have no complaints.
Can’t echo complaints re: seating, crowds, etc as we went on a down time. Pizzas were good, love that wood fired crust and although I had to ask consistently for more of a topping (ex: initially got 5 roasted red peppers) the pizza was smothered in cheese and the spicy tomato sauce was a delightful touch. Also had the Mediterranean house creation and enjoyed it. Wish we could have tried a salad but all the lettuce was brown/black and wilted.
This place is AMAZING. I don't know how they do it, completely customizable pizza, unlimited toppings, friendly staff, and a great price. Only complaint is that you have to wait a long time, especially if its busy which it usually is- but they are cooking you a whole pizza so its expected.
Excellent value! Fast and fresh! Love all the endless toppings ! Healthy alternative to fast food eating. What a brilliant idea ! Friendly staff and ample parking as well
Very cool kinda rustic /industrial decor.Very limited seating and i think this place could easily support 5 times more seating area as its busy! The pizza itself has a great taste, toppings are fresh and its like doing a pizza subway style.Walk along and pick your crust, sauce and toppings.
Ten bucks for a loaded pizza that can easily feed two is a great deal. The only downside we had was the pizza being a tad burned on the crust. This affects the flavour so they need to mind the cooking times. If it was bad enough I would have asked for a new one but all in all we were happy.
Staff needs to get on cleaning those tables asap so customers arent forced to clean tables just to sit down.
My friend Kayla and I thoroughly enjoyed ZA Bistro, it was my second and her first time being here. Young, fresh faced staff who keep it lively. We highly recommend and will be back.
Allergies beware! (Our only negative opinion)
My significant other and I love going to Za Pizza! If you have never been, the best way to describe is that it's like going to Subway but you're going there for Pizza instead. You go down the line and ask for your choice of toppings to be put on your pizza and they cook everything in front of you.
You can get yourself an unlimited topping 11" pizza for only $9.95. You can customize the pizza the way you like it, ie. you can have a half and half of different toppings on each side and you're not charged extra. It's a great deal!
The down side to Za Pizza is that there's only limited seatings at the restaurant and the place is always at capacity so depending on the time of day you go, there could easily be a long lineup.
However, this still doesn't stop us from going because of how fun the concept is!!
This post covers the CityPlace location.
A couple of weeks ago, after publishing posts on Nuburger, and Harvey’s, Cory Boehm, a friend and fellow food lover, asked if I had tried either of the new downtown pizza restaurants, Za Bistro, and Pizza Hotline. He said he had been having a conversation with a couple of his friends, and that since both offered similarly priced build you won pizzas, they might make for a good comparison.
Seriously?!? Unlimited toppings for $9.95? Yup. I even asked for double cheese.
I read the reviews about the limited seating and it's certainly true. However, at $9.95 for a super deluxe wood fired pizza, the franchise owner probably would have to charge more to pay for extra seating.
I loved my pizza. The staff is like a machine. They pile on the toppings and behind the counter, it's immaculately clean. (The seating area, with the steady stream of customers, is not maintained as well. Not the restaurant's fault, but it's just so packed.) The selection of meat is not as extensive as for vegetables, but it's all good stuff.
My pizza had so much piled on, ranging from the beef meatballs to artichoke hearts to arugula that it looked like a salad. The crust was flavourful and thin - delicious.
It's the best deal in town for sure. My tips:
1) You can't park in the 15 minute spots in St Vital, unless someone is waiting in the car. Although the line-up moves quickly, it takes a while to bake a pizza and there are probably a dozen in front of yours. You could get towed. It'll be more than 20 minutes.
2) Unless you're a teenager, this is not a good date place. It's loud and the table from the person eating before you might be kind of dirty, if you can even get a table.
3) Go nuts with the toppings like I did. (My eating partner did not and mine was WAY better :)) It's unheard of to order generous portions of unlimited toppings on pizzas nowadays for one fixed price. Great opportunity to try unusual toppings together.
4) If it's really important for you to sit down inside the restaurant, don't go during regular meal time hours. It's next to impossible to get a seat.
The hours of operation are long and I can see myself stopping there to pick up for a late night pizza fix. It's really good and an amazing deal!
You can't go wrong with Za and their $9.95 personal pizzas. Everything is fresh and the options are endless. Really impressed with this pizza joint.
been here many times now. pizza here is awesome. lots of topping variety. its basically make your own pizza. they have gluten free pizza dough which is nice option. lots of hot sauce bottles to choose from and lots of ranch sauces too. it can get crowded here during lunch rush and dinner rush. i recommend going after lunch and after dinner. expect to wait 15-20 min to get your pizza made and cooked. good experience every visit.
Went here for dinner for the first time with my son and what a gem....11' pizza with unlimited toppings for under $10...lots of fresh ingredients and different sauces to try....highly recommend it and will definitely be going back....delicious
Went to Za last night and loved it! Good pizza for a great price. Even though there is limited seating we managed to grab a table but we did beat the crowd because it got pretty packed in there. Can't wait to go back and try the pesto sauce next time.
How cool is this place? it's like the Subway of Pizzas. Even my kids enjoy it. It's super quick and affordable. Wish there was more seating available but get it to-go and it's still pretty tasty. From my pizza-eating fam to yours, a must try!
Loveeeeeeeee this place. Awesome pizza, cheap price! I'm a pizza lover so I really appreciate this place. Unlimited toppings and you can get whatever you like on your pizza. Pizza is thin crust but it's still soft and just cooked perfectly. It's so worth it to go here.
Delicious pizza, and great value. It's more akin to the higher end pizzas in the city vs. the lame chains. Unlimited toppings puts it over the top. Can't go wrong for 10$ and now I understand the line-ups. Hard to imagine someone trying it and being dissappointed.
Love this place for a quick pizza. It's the Subway of pizza. Unlimited toppings for a reasonable price and the kids cheese pizza is the perfect amount.
Best pizza in the city, fully customizable, unlimited toppings and big enough to get two meals put of it for $10.
We will be trying the dessert pizza next time.
Yes if is busy, hectic and small seating....but it is all part of the experience. I'd rather have this then expensive prices and more seating.
Here are my leftovers which were just as good the second day.
Pizza is great! I wouldn't recommend the gluten free crust though. It needs to be cooked longer and doesn't have much flavor. But other than that it's pretty delicious!
I'm not a pizza lover. But for the quality, the ultimate ingredients you could put in, the fire stove and the price for this place. I can't say no to it.
Better than the competition!
Went to a similar place in the US, "Pieology", and now that I've tasted the competition I can say that ZA is better.
Za has more customization options than Pieology in terms of sauces, and more options overall in terms of toppings.
Friendly staff don't make you feel like you're being too picky or taking up their time to customize your pizza (since their job is to let you customize your pizza).
Very worth it in terms of cost and what you're getting.
They once mistook basil for spinach, and quickly corrected the mistake with a free pizza and drink for the added wait. Very pleased with the customer service on that.
And of course the freestyle drink machine. Love those.
This is place is delicious.... Depending on who's making it. I've been a few times, and it's been great almost every time. Today I had to remind the girl, who was washing chalk off the board, to wash her hands before making my pizza, and it was just downhill from there. But my issue here is with cleanliness, and not the quality of the pizza, which is still delicious.
If you love pizza, then you need to try this place! For $9.99 you get an individual sized pizza with unlimited toppings! Steal of a deal for sure! They have a huge selection of toppings to choose from and various different sauces for your base and dipping. I eat here quite often as it's just down the street, but I know many friends who will make the venture from the North End to eat here. Sometimes the line up will be out the door, but you can also call ahead of time and place a pick up order.
Very cool idea for a pizza place set up subway style. You get a choice white or whole wheat dough with a choice of 3 sauce regular, spicy & pesto & lots of toppings too choose from. I was impressed how well it tasted & how quick it is great place.
The restaurant setup is horrible. Don't go for the atmosphere, as there isn't any. It is packed, and the soft drinks and condiments only allow for one person to use it at a time, it is stuck in the corner.
The pizza is good though.
I am 100% addicted to this place! Seriously I think it's a problem. I can't get over how great the pizza is and how it's UNLIMITED toppings for $9.99! The staff is always having a great time and I've never had a bad pizza! Only criticism is that it's too small. When it's really busy in there you are always trying to squish past people at the tables and people in line and when you're waiting for a pizza you're kind of jammed into the back corner. Honestly though that pizza makes it all worth it!
Price is good for a medium-sized pizza. You get to choose your toppings (unlimited), but I find the crust too thin (I prefer the regular crusts you could get at other pizza place).
UNREAL!!! SO DELICIOUS!!!! Even when it's crazy busy, it is soo worth the wait!! The pizzas are a decent size too!! Will defiantly be back!
$10 for a thin crust wood-fired pizza with unlimited fresh toppings - you won't find a better deal. My friend and I ordered takeout from here last night and we were not disappointed. Be prepared to wait in line for a bit as this place is so popular (but the zah is worth waiting for!) Highly recommended.

For a person who's not quiet fond of pizza, this place certainly took me by surprise!
You're greeted with a choices of crusts, sauces and toppings. It's great, as the place can cater to your likings and cravings. It's certainly great for pricing, as you can get a plethora of toppings for a mere $9.95. The staff is quite friendly as well and the restaurant itself is nice to sit in.
My only miff about this place is that it can get quite crowded during lunch and dinner. A shortage of seating might be something you're faced with.
Overall, definitely a place I'd come back to and suggest to others.
Went for the first time the other day with the hubby some pretty amazing piz-za (hahaha) you guys make over there keep up the good work!!!!!
Very good pizza place. I'm a person who loves variety and this is what this place offers. Not only do you customize your own pizza, you can pick two sauces or cheeses or more. Everything is unlimited. I loved that they had a spicy red sauce for the base as I enjoy a spicy kick. You can pick regular, whole wheat, or gluten free dough. So many toppings to choose from, but a few favorites were: spicy Italian sausage, ham, meatball, sun dried tomatoes, roasted garlic cloves, artichokes, goat cheese, and a ton other.
They had goat, ricotta, mozzarella, low fat mozzarella, feta, and plenty other cheeses and sauces to choose from. All for $9.95 and a soda is an additional $1.95.
I usually enjoy a thick crust pizza, but these came out thin and crispy. I still enjoyed it because with all of my toppings, it was still thin crispy and held up when I took a bite. Will come back for sure!
Went there for lunch today and loved the pizza.
We will be back!
Small place but comfortable decor.
Nice employees too.................................................
The Subway of Pizza Joints - Great concept, value and delicious pizza. They make the pizza right infront of you. You choose everything from the crust, sauce and toppings. Ready in about 10 minutes. For $10 you can't go wrong. I tried the classic sauce and the cream sauce, both were light in flavor which allowed me to taste and appreciate all the toppings I added. The crust was very thin and while it was crispy, it still retained some moisture which is awesome (not like some other pizza joints where the crust is dry and just rough in general). The toppings themselves were average, pretty standard with other pizza chain restaurants. For the pizza connoisseurs, they serve "American" pizza, as such the expectations should be adjusted accordingly. In other words, don't go expecting authentic Italian, and you'll come out relatively satisfied. They are open late so its a great place to hang out too. I'll definately be back when I want a quick pizza fix.
Delicious pizza! Awesome pricing and a fantastic concept! Slightly overwhelming to decide on the toppings as it is UNLIMITED TOPPING! I decided on classic tomato sauce, light mozzarella, red peppers, red onion, pepperoni and spicy Italian sausage topped with minced garlic on classic dough. The garlic was a fantastic touch I would recommend! Great job to the staff and owners! Keep it up :)
Great. Can't go wrong with cheap ($10!), delicious, personal sized pizza. The toppings tasted very fresh and the crust was probably one of the best thin crust pizzas I've had. There was a time when fast food restaurants served personal pizzas, and while they were pretty terrible, the concept was good. I like that I can have fast food (or counter/Subway style) pizza, and not by the slice. A whole pizza you can be greedy with. You can unapologetically order a pizza with onions, jalapenos, feta cheese or whatever else you want. Unlimited toppings! Go nuts. I highly recommend the spicy tomato sauce + jalapenos. They also have a wide assortment of hot sauces, creamy dressings and cheese to top off your pizza once it's ready. Oh and make sure to try the Coke freestyle machine if you haven't yet. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Don't go during lunch/dinner if you want to avoid the long wait. I think my only issue was the tables weren't cleaned off regularly so I'd recommend just getting take-out. This place would be awesome in a bigger space, maybe booths and a few tables.
Great price, unlimited toppings, huge variety of toppings, fast service, great crust and flavorful sauce. Bit of a cramped dining space though, but I'd probably only go here for takeout anyways. I'll be back for sure!
Great pizza for the price. Lots of topping options and sauces. They have that cool Coke machine that has vanilla and Cherry Coke in it. Awesome. It was very busy but they had very fast service.
My new favourite pizza place!
The value really can't be beat - you get a good sized freshly made pizza for 10 dollars with unlimited toppings. I like the design of the place.
The only reason I didn't give this a 5 rating was because they were out of several toppings and the coke machine was broken (which I really wanted to try, it looked amazing!).
I will be back soon!
I went to Za Pizza Bistro with a group of friends last night. I have been anticipating trying this place for a while now and I was not disapointed. At first entering the place I was a little overwhelmed; I wasn't sure what to get so I let my friends go first. After surveying the giant menu board, I figured out what I wanted. The order setup is similar to that of Subway. You pick crust, sauce, cheese and toppings. I had classic crust and sauce, goat and mozzarella cheese, chicken and bacon, sundried tomatoes, artichokes and jalapenos. I was very happy with the quality of the ingredients. The staff was super helpful, kind and humorous. My boyfriend had a "meatlovers" and the guy poked fun at it a little :) I was amazed at how laidback and nice the staff was. I was super excited about the drink machine, you pick a beverage then pick a flavour; I got peach Fanta (tastes like fuzzy peaches). One of my friends had a problem with her pizza and they were super nice about redoing it right away. I had such a good experience and will definitely be going back!
Great concept. Great choice of toppings. Tasty pizza. I like the thin crust. I will come here over any of the chain pizza joints. Good but not as good as one of the mom & pop pizzas, but then those can cost twice as much, so you get what you pay for.
I have tried Za Pizza many times and each time I was pleased with the pizza. When I need my pizza fix, and don't want to pay (a lot more) for a mom & pop pizza, this is where I'll be coming. The chain pizza outlets should be worried, this place will take away a lot of their customers.
Can't say enough good things about Za. With unlimited toppings for under $10. How can you go wrong, but then you taste it! This is hands down my new favourite pizza joint in the city.
Decided to try this place last week and have been back 3 times already. Where has this place been all my life? Unlimited toppings and a personal 11' pizza (you get to pick regular or whole wheat) for around $10. Not only that but the pizza and toppings are delicious! I am vegetarian and the struggle is real when it comes to pizza and having to pay for extra toppings, have no fear however there is about 15-20 veggie options and the best part... ALL included in the price. If you have been here yet you are missing the hell out.
I honestly couldn't believe that this place was serving made to order unlimited topping 11" pizzas for $9.95! I have to admit it was a bit stressful to figure out what I wanted on my pizza as I was standing in line. Lol. There's traditional crust, while wheat or gluten free for $2 add on. Then there's 6 sauces, 7 types of cheeses, 8 types of meats and a lot of veggies. I was a bit surprised at how generous they were with some peoples orders especially those who ordered a ton of toppings. I limited mine to traditional crust, classic tomato sauce, ricotta, mozzarella, grilled chicken, bacon, red onions, roasted garlic and spinach. My pizza was ready in about 4 mins in the oven. You create your pizza just like others mentioned in a Subway style manner. You pay and get a number for your order as your pizza cooks. Pizza is pretty good and very filling - I only ate half. Very thin crust - can't say the sauce or crust was memorable but I really enjoyed the toppings. You really can't beat the quality at this price.
They have a cool coke machine that seems to have a zillion flavours of carbonated drinks (every flavour of coke zero like lime, vanilla etc), fruit drinks and water too. There's also lots of creamy sauces like spicy ranch along with lots of hot sauces to put on your pizza as well.
The decor is very nice inside - gives a restaurant feel even though it's a fast food eatery. There's about 5 or 6 tables so not a ton of seating. Service was nice and efficient.
This place is located in the newer strip mall across from St Vital mall just south of bishop grandin and on the west side St Mary's Road.
What's not to like? 9.95 for a 11 inch fired pizza, unlimited toppings of your choice.
What a fantastic idea! I can't wait to go back for my next creation. This takes fast food to whole new level. Nothing fancy, but an excellent fast meal. Be prepared to take out as I went at 6:30 on a Tuesday and they were packed, no room to dine in, but I totally enjoyed my pizza at home. I will be back! Loved it!
Absolute gem!
I'd heard good things and just had to try it and I'm so glad I did!
All pizzas are thin crust and an approximate medium with unlimited toppings for $9.95. There are regular, whole wheat, and gluten free (extra $2) crusts, 6 or 7 different kinds of sauce and a ton of different toppings. I couldn't decide on which sauce to get and then realized they will do your pizza half and half for you so both my hub and myself got pizzas done in two flavours which was a ton of fun.
Like Mongo's, Subway, and other places like Palatal Express etc., a portion of your taste experience is now what you've made so your choices are reflected in how much you enjoy it along with the ingredient quality so if you're not a huge fan, try again with different combos because most of the ingredients are delicious. My favourite being the roasted garlic and banana peppers which were so good!
The only problem with the place is the size. We got there just in front of a rush and it didn't take longer than 15 minutes to get our pizzas but it was very cramped and there are only about 7 tables in the restaurant. We managed to grab one to wait but we left and headed to a nearby park for a picnic instead which was lovely but in the winter it's the opposite of an option so prepare for takeout!
There are dessert pizzas also which we didn't get the chance to try (the one pizza filled us both up more than enough without dessert) but we'd like to go back for sure!
I 100% suggest this place and will absolutely be going back. The experience was so much fun and the price and quality are spot on!
9.5/10 only for the cramped space as that will become a bummer come winter.
Went here for the second time this evening. First off the place is very visually appealing though a bit congested where people wait for their order. Interesting build your own pizza concept with unlimited toppings for a flat fee. Large selection of toppings including cheese, dough and sauce options. On both of my visits I enjoyed my pizza creation but my one criticism is that on my second visit the staff member building my pizza was being very stingy with the toppings. Take from that what you will.
I visited Za Pizza Bistro about a week ago. I discovered the place on Instagram, and I'm glad that I did. Za offers fast artisan pizza at only $9.95 with unlimited toppings. Picture it like Subway, but instead of subs, you've got pizza, which is in my mind way better! The pizza is thin crust for fast cooking, and comes in regular, whole wheat, or for $2, you can get it gluten free. They also offer dessert pizzas as well, which I have yet to try. The interior is gorgeous, but seating is limited. From what I remember, there's only four or five tables, plus bar seats along the window at the front. I love the fact that for $9.95, I can get all the toppings I want, and it tastes great! I definitely recommend trying the place out, as you won't be disappointed. But if you don't believe, just take a look at my photo, and maybe that will be enough to convince you to go!
At first when I walked in I was leary at what the finished pizza quality would be, as the ordering-down-the-line set-up reminded me of Subway. Boy was I wrong! The finished product is smokey and the toppings are premium (including finishes such as arugula and fresh basil). At $9.95 for a personal pizza ($11.95 for GF), and unlimited toppings and cheeses, this place is a gem well worth a try. I also loved the Coke Freestyle machine! :)
