I had the cornerstone burger and fries and my boyfriend had the tomato basil bacon soup and steak sandwich. All we can say it was delicious. Excellent experience/atmosphere, wait staff was awesome and the food was top notch.
I was here for the first time for lunch. The waiter was very friendly and accommodating. He came around often to refill water glasses and checked to make sure everything was ok, but not so often that it was intrusive.
The food was excellent. The portions huge! Excellent value. And a nice selection of foods.
They also pay homage on their menu to the history of the building. They have a dish aptly named "Papa Gorgeous" as a tribute to Papa George's restaurant. Prior to Papa George's moving into that location, the building used to house a pharmacy, so they have a cocktail named "White Cross" that comes with a small piece of red licorice reminiscent of days when you could buy penny candy at a pharmacy.
The atmosphere is casual and pleasant. I'll definitely be going back.

The staff is always great Norm, the chef, always does some great dishes and is very interesting to talk to. Miles, one of the owners, is always fun to visit with if he is around. I highly recommend it. 5 stars�����

We love going to Cornerstone. For a long while, we went once a week. We often get take-out now because we're so busy lately. The food has never disappointed, the servers are always friendly and they have some great original cocktails.
I just wanted to write to commend the chef! We ordered the steak and eggs and the papa gorgeous burger on New Years Eve. The food came quickly and it was amazing!
Perhaps I am biased as this is my "Cheers" as I am here weekly. My fav is Chicken Banh Mi...service is always great too. They recognize regulars which only adds to that neighborhood ambiance.
Steak Sandwich and Linguini were excellent. Sleemans Honey brown went down nicely. Citrus cocktail was good, though $9. Creme Brule was adequate. Staff are great.

Came for an early supper, drink special prices were decent. First impression was prices seemed cheap based on the menu descriptions. After food was brought to us, we can see why. Mac and Cheese portion was much larger than the fish. But both were fantastic. You are getting good tasting food and not breaking the bank. Service was good, decor is nice. We will definitely return.
They have a really good selection of beer and some nice cocktails. I enjoyed the friend chicken burger. The server was friendly and attentive.
One note is - the two menus we received had different beers listed.
Excellent food, great service, unbelievable Pierce for the quality! Had the lamb shank with butternut squash risotto. The lamb was the best I've ever had. Didn't need a knife! Will definitely be back to try out more of the menu!
Very good selection of draft beers. Charcuterie board was decent. Atmosphere was cozy and busy. No complaints about service.
Update: came back for date night with hubby and it was just as good as I remembered. Great happy hour specials. Try the steak bites! Beer is ice cold, and good wine selection. I had the trout and lentils and both were perfectly cooked. My husband got the butter chicken, and he said it was okay. I tried their orange creme brulé and it was good. The reviews stays a 4 because our server was so professional and prompt.
The veggie burger and the cheese platter they serve is amazing 🤗 I just go to this place for these two items! Great service..
It was my first time, there was a wait and while we all waited someone came out with little appetizers. Which were not only really really good but I thought offering us snacks was a lovely gesture. This place is definitely fancy and there for on the pricier side, that said it absolutely worth every dollar. It's beautiful, the staff is polite and the food and drinks are amazing. For sure going to be my fancy date place from now on. I recommend whatever specials they have that day.
Wow wow wow...Amazing Bartender, smiling, attentive, the whole nine yard.. The food was just the best.. I had the Ceviche and a Ban-mi fried chicken sandwich with pickled vegetables.. it was soooo tasty.. If you live in Winnipeg and you never been there .. Get your ass up and go eat at the Cornerstone.. Tonight (Wednesday) they have $10 off on Wine bottles ...
