I remember going to the original Old Spaghetti Factory in Old Market square it was connected to one of the best night clubs in Winnipeg, Brandy's , the pastas have always been the best not to mention the best sour dough bread with garlic butter, and last year I finally got to visit the Forks and love the setting and same amazing food
I love this place. I go every other month with the same friend. It's our place to have dinner and chat. We get there early right after work and it's not loud so we can have a conversation and relax while enjoying a good meal. Service is great. You don't feel rushed. The food is always good. I have no negative comments.
Great food, great service but parking was a bit annoying. Also who/where did you get the Tiffany lamps from as I have one that is in need of a slight repair and had asked the waitress yesterday but the Manager was not available. Would appreciate a response Thank you!
One of the best places to eat at the Forks. They have something for everyone and you really can't go wrong with somewhere that gives you dessert at the end of your meal at no additional charge!

First Time there i love the environement many different tables arrangements and differents places to sit. It was bigger than regular fancy restuarants it was very casual. Been there with my boyfriend and i love the food !! Fresh and great service ; the service there was very friendly
The place to go when you’re craving and the fact that it’s located at The Forks is a bonus. Mussels are a must for us and spumoni for dessert!

We came in last night with our 4 small children. Which is always a little risky lol. We very much enjoyed our dinner!! Service was fantastic and speedy! Food was so, so yummy! Our server was great too and even took the time to have a little fun with the kids by making a joke he was going to try very hard not to mix up their meals as our kids all had the same thing! The two older ones thought this was pretty funny! Overall great experience and we'll definitely be back soon!! ���

We love walking here for lunch. Their Spaghetti is quite delicious and definitely a staple for us at the Forks. They’re always great for big groups or smaller, more intimate seating.
The Old Spaghetti Factory at the Forks is my family's go-to restaurant. The price ranges from $10.74-$18.95, you can get yourself a nice three-course meal. Each entree comes with bread, minestrone soup/green salad to start, your choice of entree, tea/coffee and your choice of ice-cream for dessert. I always walk out with nothing but satisfaction!
Since the restaurant is at the Forks, the weekends are exceptionally busy! My family and I did a walk-in at 5pm on a Saturday evening for a group of 3, we had to wait for 35-40 minutes to finally be seated. My suggestion to you is that always make a reservation if you decided to dine in on a weekend.
This place is family-oriented so casual attire will get you by. I'd highly recommend you to check it out if you've never been before. It's a perfect place for groups/couples.
If you're clueless on what to get, my all-time favourite is the Chicken Alfredo with Mushroom and Mascarpone Cheese Ravioli. It's a must-try!!!
The atmosphere is a bit dusty; the service subpar; the food okay. But the REAL advantage of this place is how affordable it is. If you're in The Forks and looking for lunch, you really can't go wrong with spaghetti, salad (or soup) and a loaf of bread for $10.
I dined here recently with a friend and it made me wonder why I haven't been here in so long, it was a really good experience. The service was great and the food portions were huge. I had the pesto linguine and my friend had the old classic spaghetti with meat sauce and we were both very pleased with the dishes. The bread is to die for, I filled up on too much of it. I will definitely be back.
Nice relaxed family atmosphere and pleasant staff. We were all very hungry so the "all included" with soup/salad, bread and dessert was greatly appreciated. Highly recommend the braised beef and squash penne - really delicious!
Nothing special. I find that they do not drain the pasta properly before adding the sauce so I get a watery tasteless meal. The amount of food served is decent.

My date and I ordered the chicken Alfredo with mushroom and mascarpone cheese ravioli. We both enjoyed our dish, and I personally would recommend trying it!
If you're a fan of the mojito, I'd recommend going there to try their strawberry mojito. It's now my new favourite alcoholic beverage. I'll be seeing myself there more often just for the strawberry variant of the mojito.
The cleanliness of the restaurant however wasn't the best. Upon being seated to our table, both my forks still had dry food leftovers which I assume was due to improper washing of the cutlery. The spoons also looked like they were improperly washed. Under our table were dirty spoons and a bunch of crumbs. None of this however didn't upset my dining experience. The restaurant looked like it was in its peak hours and was busy, but given those circumstances, that still shouldn't be an excuse to have a properly cleaned dining booth.
I've dined there about twice or thrice now. I can only see myself giving this restaurant a lower rating if the next time I'm there, the table we're seated at isn't properly cleaned. Though this has only happened to me once at this restaurant, I'd still give this place a high rating.
When I lived in the Rockies, I went to the Old Spaghetti Factory in Banff all the time. It was the most affordable place to get a decent meal. I've only actually been to the Winnipeg location a couple of times. I admit that I miss the spinach salad option they had in Banff. It was so good. I had the veggie lasagna which is always good and opted for the Greek salad to start. My BF had the baby back ribs. He said his was very good. The food came very quickly which was almost surprising considering how packed it was.
The service in the lounge was very efficient but not all that personal. She brought out the bread as we ordered which was also a huge plus. I love that whipped garlic butter!
Great value! Nice place to go for dinner if your at the forks and don't want to spend lots. Breads great, love the garlic butter!!! Staff always make you feel at home and never leave your drink to go empty.
Honestly one of the best experiences iv had at a restaurant in winnipeg I don't know what it was but had zero complaints and left happy as could be. Great food, great service.
We were there for lunch in Friday. When we arrived we stood at the front for a good 5 minutes before we were even greeted. Once greeted she took our name and we waited about 10 minutes before we were seated. The hostess area was very disorganized seeing as more guests were arriving and nobody was there to greet them for several minutes. Once we were seated we were promptly served. Our lunch came quickly, it was hot and tasty. It's always a good bang for your buck because you get a coffee or tea, soup or salad, your meal and ice cream for dessert. We were very pleased with our server. She was super attentive and friendly. She made just enough small talk and was on her way. She really made up for the beginning of our visit at the door because we were worried that it might not be a good experience after that.
Delicious food and a unique restaurant! It was my first time going, and I loved it! I tried the Manicotti, which came with Minestrone soup, bread, ice cream for desert, and a drink, all under $20. 😄
The restaurant was beautiful, the service was nice and fairly fast. The food was very filling and I will definitely come back again.

We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner today. It's a reasonably priced restaurant with consistent food. In the past I've seen it on a long wait to get a table but tonight we got right in and the service was pretty fast, maybe because it was Sunday.
The value of the meals comes with what is included with them. You get sourdough bread with garlic and regular whipped butter, a choice of soup or salad and coffee or tea and ice cream to finish off your dinner included with most dishes.
We got the calamari to try it and it was a rip off! It was alright but for 10 dollars and a small portion of underseasoned calamari and thick, tasteless tzatiki we could have gone without it.
The minestrone soup was perfect. I got the spaghetti with browned butter and mizithra cheese and my boyfriend got the spaghetti and clam sauce. We enjoyed the pastas but were so full of bread, soup and calamari that we took most of it to go. The meal was finished with the included spumoni ice cream, best spumoni I have ever had!
Pros: consistent food, lots of food, well priced, good minestrone and spumoni, great location (The Forks)
Cons: can be a long wait, old, outdated decor (I guess that's why it's called the old spaghetti factory), atmosphere is kind of grungy and weird, calamari was a rip off
Incredible Spaghetti. I ordered "The Manager's Choice" which allows one to choose split their spaghetti with two sauce. It's a good way of trying two types of spaghetti in one dinning. I chose the Spaghetti Brown Butter and Mizithra Cheese for half of the spaghetti and Mushroom sauce for the other half. Great serving size. The spaghetti was perfectly cooked, and the sauces were incredibly delicious. Most of the dishes have the "It's all included" in which entrees of either Soup or Salad, and also Ice Cream for dessert. Both satisfying as well. The service was great, the waiting time for food was just right. My friend booked ousr tables, which was a smart choice since there can be a queue when you just walk in. I love the old theme vibe of the restaurant. For the great food with a reasonable price, I would definitely come back. I strongly recommend trying this place.
Absolutely love this restaurant!! We come here very frequently. They have stellar service and are very family oriented. They have a great menu with fantastic spaghetti. I would highly recommend.
A great option for an inexpensive, family friendly restaurant. We recently had a party of 9, 3 kids and 6 adults. They seated us in the grotto room, which was nice because it was slightly more private than the main dining area. Our server was fantastic in handling the kids, and made every effort to accommodate their requests.
The food came quickly, and everyone was satisfied with the food. I had the Thai Red Curry linguine with shrimp, and it was very tasty. It didn't have the heat of typical Thai Red Curry, but that is to be expected from a more mainstream, non-ethnic place.
In summary: good family atmosphere, good food, and excellent value.
Very fine looking restaurant. I loved the area where you can see the outside of it. Servers were polite and service was okay. The Calamari was the bomb! I ordered the seafood marinara on wheat and it was good. A must try for pasta lovers
Great family restaurant with a menu full of pasta and other comfort food and enough variety to keep everyone happy. Every meal includes drinks, fresh baked bread, soup or salad AND ice cream at a reasonable price. The main, rear seating area is a sun-filled space that overlooks the bustling Forks walking paths.
I've been here a few times and the service is alway immaculate. The best experience was a few years back when they had their anniversary specials. Spacghetti was priced like it was back in the 50's at I think it was $1.50! So worth it, plus you get to walk around The Forks after!
A nice place to go for lunch special- huge servings of salad to start, choice of pasta and coffee after heavy meal at affordable price. Good service too. The only downside is they haven't change or added new menus for quite sometime now. Nice patio for summer!
Good service. I was there with my family last Sunday. The service was good and meal is okay. Just one thing I would like to say is spaghetti that I ordered was kind of cold. Except that, I was satisfied with their service.
Always a good place to go when you're hungry and want pasta. Pasta is not the best in Winnipeg, but it's still pretty delicious when you have that Italian craving. Price is decent too as everything you need is included in one price: bread, soup, entree and dessert. Will be one of my go-to places when I have that pasta crave.

Good place for an average meal, don't expect anything great. Ended up here last night without planning to, but happened to be at The Forks. We got there at ~7:30pm and were seated within a few minutes. The restaurant was super busy and crowded inside - the hostess ended up placing us at a table directly beside a large party celebrating a child's birthday. We asked her if there was a quieter table, to which she was completely agreeable to after asking us to wait just a few more minutes.
Service was on the poorer side, but they were training a new server in our section so that slowed things down a bit. The server that was training her (a larger male who I have seen there before) was obnoxiously loud when talking with customers and was pretty embarrassing at times. The girl he was training forgot to take the menus off our table when we ordered, and we had placed them on the inside area of our table that isn't reachable for the server. He LEANED right across me, to the point of brushing against me, and completely into my personal space to grab the menus.
Food is always average. Don't expect anything more than that. Fettuccine alfredo with chicken was cooked well, sauce was average. Not really worth paying so much for the chicken added to it (the portion is very small), but I wanted some protein. Partner had the mushroom raviolli that is on their "newer" menu. Dish is way overpriced for the portion size, would not order it again.
Excellent!. Went here on a busy sunday evening, after my boyfriend and i went for a skate. only had to wait maybe 15 mins to be seated. the bread, soup and main dishes came out very quickly, everything was very good. sever was very friendly and checked on us often. no complaints! everything is very reasonably priced too. i'm surprised with all the negative reviews on here, but I've only been a couple of times. can't wait to go back!
We ate dinner here last night. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were seated in ten minutes. We were served bread shortly after ordering our meals, and the salads quickly followed. We were barely halfway through the salads when our meals showed up. We were all very impressed with such prompt service. Our server came and checked on us often, even though she had many tables to look after.
There aren't too many places that offer a four-course meal for less than $15. The food was excellent and nobody felt hungry afterward. Highly recommended.
Good variety. I always enjoy coming here with friends since they have a wide enough selection to please almost everyone. A little bit pricey, but we always leave quite full (no reason not to with the endless bread!). Highly recommend the 'Bam Bam Shrimp', I can't go there and not order it. Only real down-side is that there can be a decent line-up to get in at their busier times.

Very Good. I was there with a group of 10 today. The service was absolutely outstanding which is hard to come by, especially with a large group. I go to OSF just for the bread and garlic butter, I could live off that stuff. The food was good, nothing outstanding but combined with the great service I will definitely be returning.
Favourite. Great food, great service, great prices. I always forget that a starter salad and ice cream is included with the price of the meal. How could you go wrong? I would also urge anyone and everyone to try the italian cream sodas. THEY'RE AMAZING!

Get place to take kids. To our niece and nephew last night here had a reservation for 6:30. We were all done and paid by 7:30. Services was fast and good. Food is excellent for kids and okay for our palate. Pricing was great.
Pleasantly surprised.. We stopped in here during my son's 2nd birthday celebration for lunch and were very impressed at the feel and atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was delicious, and the bread was fantastic too. I will definitely be planning a return trip. The best Forks food I've had yet.
(Having seen the negative reviews, I wonder if part of the reason our experience was so good was because we went at 1pm on a Tuesday when the place was mostly empty. I'll definitely plan my return trip during busy time to see if there's a difference).
Good food, pasta was a bit watery but i love the bread and the fact that they give you two different kinds of butter as well as free ice cream for dessert with your meal makes it so worth it!
I love OSF. But it made me love it less because of the following: coffee spoon is dirty, you can still see how someone licked the spoon and leave it in the table. And i almost use it :/ 2nd, OSF is like a weather. You sometimes get good food, and sometimes what you get is a rushed, not worthy food. Even the bread is cold one time i went there. Over all, id say 5/10.
My girl and i had dinner here for our anniversary and the experience was excellent. The service was superb as was most of the food. The side spaghetti was weak but for the price of the bill, I could not complain about anything. The pre-meal loaf of bread with garlic butter is a nice touch. Much to check out at the forks afterwards.
Liked the old location better. I used to go to the Spaghetti factory with my family a lot in the 90's at it's original location. It had great atmosphere, food and staff. Now don't get me wrong, the food is still amazing...possibly even better. However the staff are very robotic and when they show any emotion it's grumpiness. I get the impression the staff doesn't enjoy working there. The restaurant is always clean and service is quick. Overall i don't mind going there but they need to do something to cheer up the staff. They are totally a buzzkill.
Great Family Restaurant. This is a fabulous and fun place to go with a large family and friends. We often go here and get great service and great food. The decor is made up of antiques, the staff is attentive and friendly, and the food is tasty at a good price. I've tried many things off their menu but I prefer their Alfredo noodles without the chicken. (I find the chicken rubbery-everytime). Their vegetarian lasagna is also good (though needs to be cooked well). I love the fact that a meal comes with a soup or salad, coffee/tea, and ice cream. I'm always impressed with them. It is a popular place so it does tend to get filled up (the restaurant is large and located in a great location with great scenery).
A very good place to dine.... Not really too terribly much to say about this place except that I have been here a few times now and I have never had a bad experience. The food is great, the service is great, the fact that it is located at the Forks is great. Nuff said. Eat here.

Fantastic spaghetti and meatballs! With an iced tea, for $15 they started yhe meal off with a half baguette then soup, followed by the main, then ice cream for dessert and coffee/tea!!! And i brought home leftovers for lunch. The service was prompt and effective. The fastest i've ever experienced while not feeling rushed whatsoever. What more can you ask for?

A group of us went here with somebody who needed her food specially prepared, and they were great about getting everything pureed for her. our waitress was gracious, friendly and quick, staff was very accomodating. that being said we ended up waiting over an hour for a table, and the food was ok. wish they had healthier options, maybe whole wheat. very affordable.

A Safe Bet But Sadly No Whole Wheat Pasta Options. Nothing extraordinary on the menu here, just safe, ordinary choices that are fairly well executed.
Went with my Little Sister tonight as her choice (she loves pasta !!) while we were at The Forks enjoying the the Go Jets Go festivities. I was surprised at how large the restaurant was when we where shown to our booth and that they have an old shower displayed in one corner. (very odd !!) Our server came promptly, took our drink orders and was helpful when we were selecting our entrees. Bread and salads also came quickly but as another poster commented the salads were most obviously bagged lettuce.(though we enjoyed our dressings of raspberry vinaigrette and especially the ranch) Our bread was very warm and soft and we totally adored the garlic butter !
Entrees were served hot and we fancied them so much we actually finished our entire dishes ! We had the Manicotti and the Seafood Linguine Marinara.
My only major disappointment was discovering they did not have whole wheat pasta options. This is 2011...I think it`s OK to go there and offer your clientele a healthier option especially when pasta is your main attraction !

Reliable. I've always had a soft spot for the Old Spaghetti Factory. I remember my mom telling me stories about going to the Old Spaghetti Factory at their former location in the Exchange District when she was a girl. She would go with her girlfriends and they would wrap the bread in napkins and sneak them into their purses, collecting as many loaves of bread as they could.
Though this wouldn't be my first choice if I were dining with a foodie snob, I would have to say that I always leave satisfied-- my partner and I are return-patrons. Even though the Old Spaghetti Factory wasn't a a Winnipeg original, I always feel like it's a Winnipeg staple, and even that I'm participating in something historically significant when I eat there (largely because the decor is made up of interesting antiques).
I love, loved the steamed mussels, which was our starter. Even though I knew ordering them would leave me with too much food, I couldn't stop myself, because they're so delicious. They're not something that's on the main menu; maybe they're just featuring the mussels for a period of time.
My dining partner had the spicy meat sauce spaghetti. My favourite has always been spaghetti with browned butter and Mizithra cheese a la Homer. That's super-rich, and not something I'd ever make at home, so it's quite a treat. Because it's a bit too much (and too salty) on its own, I tend to get the manager's special which allows you to choose two sauces (I like it with the clam sauce). The salad is unimpressive. I usually go with the soup option. Either way, it's good value for money, and I'll likely be back soon. Now that the river walk is "open" (there are still signs saying that it's closed) it will be fun to go for evening walks to the Forks until it's time to skate!
A Winnipeg Favorite!. I love the Old Spaghetti Factory! It's one of my and my friends "go to" places whenever we want a girls night, lunch break or even a date! We have always had great food there. I love their lasagna! The spaghetti like many other reviewers however…I would pass on that. The ribs are very tasty and the steak is pretty good too. My favorite lunch item is the chicken dippers and the raspberry vinigret is like none other I've had and so very yummy! They have nice fresh cut cries!
I recommend this place for large parties as well. They have great service and are very hospitable. I've never been to a better place for large groups (10+). For birthday's they even let you bring your own cake!

A classic in Winnipeg. Great location and good prices. Started off w Calamari which was fantastic! Ordered spaghetti a la homer I believe it was called. Supposed to have been done in browned butter. Got the dish and it was dry and really awful. I proceeded to return it and order a spaghetti in clam sauce. Was very delicious! My wife had a Fettucinne w prawns and Curry and was also very delicious! Waitress was absolutely fantastic and even though the restaurant was extremely busy she was always around! A great family restaurant at a reasonable price!
Ordered a garden salad and was served a plate of letuce. Pasta is just a B- and service is C-. Should be amazing all the time but they slack. Still some dishes are tasty, usually too much salt.
New and Improved. Had lunch at the OSF. I was pleasantly surprised. That Italian soda was really very good. I like the menu choices, allot of good alternates to Spaghetti. I tried the Chicken club which was very good. A good kids menu and I like the decor of the restaurant. The view is nice too. I think this place is well worth the visit and I will be going back.

Try their New York Steak. I have been to Old Spaghetti Factory more than 10 times - mostly in Winnipeg (including their old location at Princess, or was it King Street? Whatever, now at Johnston they are even better), and also in Toronto and in Vancouver. Our Winnipeg location seems to be even better than theirs.
Out of the numerous places where you can get your really WELL done steak (I don't mean "no blood and no pink", I mean quality), the best one for me is, surprisingly, this one. Quite possible for some other steak location to already be outstanding for you, because the other steak houses in the town are not bad at all. But, really, give these guys a try for a role of a steak house, and you may be as pleasantly surprised as I was.
Spaghetti Factory serves variety of attractive dishes beyond steakhouse and Italian cuisine. Though their most outstanding feature for personally me was this: whenever I think of a cozy steak place in Winnipeg, the #1 at the top of my mind is always the Old Spaghetti Factory at the Forks.
