My first time at 529 was nothing short of incredible! My partner took me here for my birthday dinner last night and it was truly an amazing experience from start to finish! Our server was attentive and personable. The sommelier, Chris, picked our wine for us and we were both very satisfied with his choice. The liver pate for our appetizer was a generous portion and delicious. For my entree I ordered the 6oz tenderloin with a half lobster tail. The steak was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. We ordered the creamy mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach with garlic to go along with our steaks. Lots of flavour and again generous portions. I recommend both. We chose to finish our evening in the lounge where we indulged in a glass of port and the chocolate lava cake. Dessert heaven! For my first experience here I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant one. I look forward to the next visit.
15 family members went for lunch for our parents 60 th wedding anniversary. Initially, we had asked for the patio but quickly realized it was too hot and asked to be moved inside. This was done without delay and cheerfully and at a busy lunchtime, too! Food was delicious as usual, our server was accommodating and funny! Always a pleasure to dine at 529!
Amazing experience! The building has amazing character and history, the waiter was professional, knowledgable and so helpful. Food was so delicious. Pricy but you really do get what you pay for. Was a special treat for sure. I would highly recommend trying!

Clientele here (tattoos and underdressed) and the staff was great. We were treated the same as the next table of businessmen or the couples dressed for a gala dinner. The best dinner experience I’ve ever had.

Took my staff of 12 here for our Christmas dinner! They were great at accommodating a vegetarian dish, even though it wasn’t on the menu. They allowed us to open our gifts there also. So great, looking forward to coming back.
My wife and I went to 529 Wellington for my 50th birthday. It was a great experience all around. Our server, Russell, was professional and friendly. He explained the wines and the meal choices very well. He was always around just when we needed him, but never hovered.
My 14 oz. New York was perfectly prepared as was my wife's 8 oz. tenderloin.
I know 529 is a steakhouse, but the Sweet Potato Mash with maple butter and pecans stole the evening! It was unbelievably good. Very light and fluffy, but not a pure. Just the right amount of sweet maple was added to bring out the delicate taste of the sweet potato itself.
Finished the evening with creme brulee, my favourite. Prepared exactly as it should be.

Best Reuben in Winnipeg! It's to die for! We also love coming here for special occasions for a nice steak dinner. A Winnipeg must!

Went tonight with my husband and our two good friends. The food was grrreaat, the ambiance was what I expected it to be, but the best part was the service! It was outstanding! Especially when I asked for the wine list. I was surpised to say the least to see a thick book presented in front of me so I told our server that I really love Menage Trois and to bring me the wine that tastes similar to it and he did! I can't remember the name of the wine right now but it really tasted almost similar! Enjoyed it so much that I killed the bottle myself �� Looking forward to coming back soon for sure!
Definitely an experience to repeat. From the multiple greetings to the multiple good-byes, we enjoyed every minute of it. The food was the kind that makes you just close your eyes and savour each bite!

Our company has had its Xmas Party here for the past 5plus years, and the staff at 529 NEVER dissapoint! From the friendly greeter at the front door who welcomes you with a warm smile and takes your coat, to the friendly, and always whimsically comedic and knowledgable waiting staff ...and lets not forget THE FOOD! Omg, i could live off thier heavenly mashed potatoes alone! Lol Always a wonderful experiance here, its the highlight of our year! ���
The service we received here was executive. The staff and waiters were so polite, engaged and professional. It is an expensive restaurant but I dare say the word-style pricing on the menu definitely softens the impact of the stated prices. Example: seventy five dollars instead of $75 :D
The portions were decent.
Another note sweet touch for this restaurant are its simple but tastefully furnished bathrooms.
Definitely the most serene patio surrounded by trees and along the Assiniboine River. The food was top notch as was the service. My only issue was my beef tenderloin was quite chewy but was just a blip in an otherwise great evening out.
Wonderful evening and birthday celebration. Great hospitality and delicious food. We enjoyed every moment of the night from apps and wine to dessert and cocktails. This restaurant provides a great dining experience ! Recommended to all.
My boyfriend and I celebrated my birthday last night here at Wellington and they did not disappoint. It was the best experience! Our server did not only do an excellent job but he actually went the extra mile to make sure everything went perfectly. It was fun and the food was superb. You get what you pay for. Will definitely come back again! :)
I’ve probably been here at least thirty times, and I have never left disappointed. It’s one of the best restaurants in the city, and definitely also one of my favourites. They serve excellent food, and they are also very consistent. The service I’ve received has also always been fantastic. It is definitely not a cheap place to go to, but the whole experience is worth the price. For dessert, I highly recommend the bread pudding!

We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary at this exquisite restaurant. Health protocols are properly implemented, with friendly staff ensuring the safety of all guests. From the oysters on the half shell and fantastic wine list, to the liqueur sundae with coffee and brandy snifters, everything was perfect. It is a unique experience with really cool architecture, artwork and intimate 'break out' dining rooms throughout.

A high end old school steakhouse in the heart of Winnipeg.
My colleagues and I went to this steakhouse for a business meeting.
Order: Onion ring tower, french onion soup, seafood bisque, T- bone, bone in Rib eye, roast chicken (one of my colleagues cannot eat beef due to religious reasons but he was gracious enough to join us here), roasted brussels sprouts as a side, fries, and spinach. We also had the bearnaise, peppercorn and marrow sauce. We also had a bunch of cocktails and drinks.
Location: 5/5 A very nice location, ample parking lot, easy to find.
Service: 5/5. Despite 2 hour sitting, they allowed us to stay longer and was very accommodating. The service was splendid as I would expect from a finer dining establishment.
Taste: 4/5 - French onion soup was great, among the better ones i've had. I heard the seafood bisque was very rich and creamy. The onion ring tower is definitely a must try if you are going there for the first time. It was for some of my colleagues. I've been here a few times, but I always order them. Donut sized onion rings. I frequent a lot of steakhouses but this method of presentation is definitely unique.
I wish the steaks were seasoned a bit more but the side of salts do help. Perfectly charred and cooked. Definitely the best in Winnipeg. Rating out of 10, I'd give the T bone a 7.8, the rib steak 8.1. The brussels sprouts were tasty with the bacon in it. Spinach was very mediocre unfortunately. My friend said that the chicken was good. Fries were a bit of a disappointment. Very standard and lack lustre.
Value - 5/5. High end steakhouse with very reasonable prices for prime grade meat. Not the cheapest meal but for a high end steakhouse their prices are actually quite inexpensive relative to other equivalent places.
Overall 5/5- I will give this place a 5 star rating because of the experience. It is a perfect place to take business colleagues, friends, family, and even a romantic date (probably not the first date). I even come here as a casual dinner. I like this steakhouse, definitely the best in Winnipeg. I am critical of steaks but they are very good steaks.
