I was craving macaroni and cheese so we decided to stop here for a late lunch. The service was excellent and the atmosphere is adorable. The soup and macaroni and cheese were excellent. The sandwich had much too much mustard but was otherwise really good. Definitely suggest making a point of going here if you're looking for comfort food.
Very bright and clean diner. Service was prompt. Had the mini meatloaf and gf had the Cuban Sandwich. Both were very good. We also had their soup, potato and bacon. They don’t serve their French onion anymore. Will definitely try other items.

One of my favourite restaurants in the city! The food is amazing!! I've tried 8 items off the menu and have loved each one. Classic dishes with a twist. My favourite's are the chicken pot pie, macaroni and bison chili. Defiantly check out their menu if you want something comforting but not boring. I'd eat here all the time if my belt would allow it. The staff is courteous and friendly. The Decor is lovely and it's a great place for a date, to take friends or have a family meal. I'm also in love with the fries! I could order just a plate of them and be happy. I think I may be going back soon after writing this review, my mouth is watering thinking of the food.

Super popular place. Had to wait a half hour for a table during a Friday lunch hour. I had the bison burger and sweet potato fries. Fries were really good and the burger was passable. Shared the steak bite appetizer, which was okay. Favourite item I tried was the chicken pot pie.
Best brunch ever i love it. Get the eggs Benedict on a croissant!! They make the hollandaise sauce themselves you can taste it. Also the mac and cheese is out of this world. Wish the portions were bigger because i could eat it forever.
Sat on the patio on a hot afternoon. Server was attentive and engaging. Had the grilled chicken salad (half) with garlic toast. The half salad was more than enough and the grilled pineapples added a great touch. Salad was delicious but the garlic toast was very disappointing. All it was was white toast with barely any garlic/seasonings and it was burnt.
Went here with my family today for brunch. Had 'The Tree Hugger' breakfast which was delicious! It came out relatively quickly even though it was pretty busy in the restaurant + on the patio. The eggs were cooked perfectly (usually don't eat eggs but every once in a while I do) + I was super into all the vegetables and picked onions. The only complaint I have is that the falafel balls weren't the best.. not crispy enough but they were still pretty yum. Also wished that they came with hummus and/or a hot sauce of some sort. Either way... super good + always excited about them veg options 🌱
Highly recommend , this place was packed , we sat at the bar , food was brought promptly , great decor and delicious food ! We had soup , mac and cheese , grilled cheese and another sandwich , I for sure would come back and try more !
The Marion Street Eatery is a very good comfort food restaurant with a couple of signature dishes that are just fantastic!
The Meatloaf is excellent, the Cuban Sandwich is outstanding, the ingredients just marry well together. The Mac N Cheese is also very tasty and recommended. The burgers are also very good.

Great service. The burger was good. The fries were good. I decided to get the poutine. Would have been excellent except very small amount of gravy and the fries were a little cold so the cheese curd did not melt. I also thought that the pop was flat. I will be going back as hopefully this was an isolated incident.
Have been here several times and have tried many menu options. Always satisfied with the quality and size of the meals. My only criticism would be that sometimes the bacon is undercooked but that is such an easy fix. Highly recommended this cute place in St. Boniface.

Interesting menu but found it to be a bit disappointing. Went with a couple of friends and found 2/3 dishes to be pretty salty. The source was the bacon, so I would be cautious when ordering a dish with bacon in it. My friend got a soup with bacon in it, and it was not enjoyable as a soup but actually worked better as a gravy. Service was average, environment had an interesting hipster vibe to it, food was okay but fries were pretty good. Would give it another shot though.
May 6th 2017 Update:
Came for breakfast and it was good. Got the Croissantwich: Fried eggs, chorizo sausage, cheddar cheese, guacamole, sautéed mushroom, and Sriracha aioli on a croissant. It was messy but tasty. The chorizo was good, croissant as buns made it so much better than regular bread or buns in my opinion, I think the sriracha aioli stood out and helped bring everything together. Nothing was over powering, all well balanced and complimented each other, and I enjoyed that very much. I'm personally more of a lunch or dinner person, so I'll be back to give those two menu items a try.
We decided to try this place on a Sunday and wow was it fantastic!! I had the apple whiskey caramel sauced pancakes with bacon stacked in the middle of the stack it was delicious!! Had green tea that was loose leaf & wonderful. The others I was with had the Lumber jack breakfast with toast hash eggs sausage bacon huge portions. We have decided we are going to come back for dinner since there are so many tempting items on the menu. Service was great & prices are reasonable I recommend this place to anyone!!
Love how they made the restaurant look, great for a quick inexpensive but still nice night out! The Mac n' cheese was delicious. Would suggest checking it out for yourself, something for everyone on the menu.

A few of us went to the Marion Street Eatery for the first time yesterday and I already can't wait to go back! I ordered the Quinoa Vegetable Wrap, and though I wouldn't order it again, the rest of their menu looks amazing! The wrap just had a little too much going on for me, but the side butternut squash and sweet potato soup was lovely. Big portions, unique options, great service, mid-scale prices, just dying to go back!

Shared with my friend : Bison burger with sweet potato fries and Saturday special, turkey and apple sandwich with potato wedges. Everything was great but the Bre cheese on the bison burger was too strong for me. Dessert was pear coffee cake and coffee. Overall lovely evening.
Wow. Awesome freshly made appetizers and entrees. I don't think you could go wrong with anything off the menu. And the service was superb as well. Well worth it.
My husband and I popped in for a Sunday breakfast and it was amazing! Definitely tastes like your home cooked style of food. Will be back for sure!

beyond beautiful day to dine outside for lunch, we were politely told upon arrival that the restaurant was busy and a table would become available in the next 30mins but perhaps upon being seated we would have to delay our order as the kitchen was swamped. we greatly appreciated the hostess' honesty and waited on the church pew provided for waiting customers. again upon being seated our server politely let us know she would be able to take our drink orders but the food order would be delayed, again appreciated the honesty. once we ordered our food arrived within 20mins, very impressed.
i had the Mac & Cheese, as everyone talks about it; i can see why. it really was tasty and for a lunch was certainly big enough and i am a big eater. it comes piping hot out of the oven, which is a bit of a problem since you want to dive right in and devour the well cheesed dish but a burnt tongue and mouth will occur.
my lunch companion is not a big eater, more of a grazer and she dined on the falafal appetizer which was a great portion for her and really tasty.
the desserts for the day sounded so yummy but we did not have room even though the cinnamon bun cheesecake was so tempting.
we had a great experience. even with street construction finding parking was not a problem.
Wow the food here is incredible! My family had all been and urged me to get here ASAP to check out the eatery and it did not disappoint... had the hot turkey sandwich and although the whole menu sounded delicious I might have to have this one again.. Just wish it wasn't in the hotel... but the restaurant itself is beautiful.
One of the best meals I've had in Wpg! Went on a Monday evening so got a table for 5 right away. Friendly&attentive staff! We all tried something different. That Chicken Pot Pie was the winner winner chicken dinner! ;-) So flavorful & we all said we wanted to order it next time! Tied for 2nd place was Meatloaf (also flavorful) and the Mac n' Cheese (piping hot from oven) were out of this world! Clubhouse was tasty (appreciated real Housemade turkey). We also tried the pickerel (very crispy) & French Onion Soup & Mushrooms stuffed w/Chorizo Sausage (so yummy - wish plate had more!). Can't wait to go back to try brunch menu. YumYum! 😊
The Marion Street Eatery is such a cool spot. My fiancée is a biker so it's nice that I can take him somewhere nice but it still has a cool vibe as it's connected to the Marion. The eggs benedict is UNREAL. I can't even describe how perfect it is. The bison chili is awesome and if you get the classic breakfast, you will not be disappointed. The food is perfect, the atmosphere is nice and the staff is very accommodating!
First time eating here and I had a great time with my boyfriend. Very comforting ambiance and I love the decors around the resto. The first thing we noticed was our professor drinking anyways. My guy ordered their Mac n Cheese and it's the best thing ever!!!! Very creamy with the hint of crunchiness from the pretzel I regret not ordering the same thing as him but I wanted something else so I had their special that day and I think it was shrimp with meat sandwich(I don't really remember) but it was really delicious as well. Not too salty and not too spicy and I loved it. However their pink lady cocktail was just average, you can do this at home.
Servers were very friendly too and informed us about the Food Network featuring their infamous Mac n Cheese so it's a must watch!
Would definitely visit again to try their Mac n Cheese and other cocktails!

This review is being written solely on the merit of the many times mentioned MAC AND CHEESE.
This comfort classic is done so well here. I will say that such a simple thing has been done so wrong by many other places, and it's the simplicity that makes the dish that much harder to make "amazing". This one is.
The ratio of cream sauce and cheese is perfect; the dish is neither overly oily or creamy. And the addition of broccoli adds a subtle change texturally to something that is so soft, not to mention the roasted flavour of the veg is a delicious change. On top of that the (I'm pretty sure Snyders brand) mustard and onion pretzel crust gives that slightly acidic dimension that a cheesy dish craves. Wonderfully balanced!
It's a good sized portion as it's a heavier dish and you still get a side. Their fries are great, medium to skinny size with nice crunch. Personally I find the wedges much too thick and heavy. It literally looks like three whole potatoes cut up. However, they are crispy despite their thickness.
I have been here multiple times and have never ordered anything else as a main, though my dining companions always enjoy their food as well. I will say I tried the corn fritters and a shrimp appetizer and it was meh.
Service is fine, no major complaints. The location is a bit sketchy but once in the restaurant itself it's fine and the decor has an eclectic charm. The wait can be long so make a reservation!
Definitely give it a try, at the very least for the mac and cheese.
This place is such a hidden gem. If you could get past the awfulness of watching people day drink like it's their job, you will have the opportunity to indulge in one of the most comforting cuisines that Winnipeg has to offer.
I started my lunch with a coffee, that is up to par with most coffee shops, as drinking it black did not immediately cause my stomach to turn. That was followed by a chicken pot pie, that was properly executed and had the loveliest crust one can ask for. I would definitely recommend anybody to try this place out, as I'm excited to return for another meal.
Just went here for the first time and had the extreme blt and their broccoli & bacon soup which was amazing! Nothing like a regular blt. My boyfriend got the chicken burger and fries which I got to try and it was also amazing! The flavors of all their food is so different and has a nice twist to it! Definitely recommend going here.
My wife and I went on a Wednesday. Restaurant was very modern and well lit. Food was excellent we had the Caesar salad I recommend and a Cuban and Grill cheese. Both very good. Waitress was new and in training but service was excellent. Has the California win a merlot. It was good was well price was perfect for sSt. B.
I visit here often and am never disappointed. A delicious, fresh take on a diner - tasty and creative takes on every menu item, with tons of house-made specialties. Good staff, decent prices, unpretentious yet consistently delicious.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. Loved the vibe and look of the restaurant, food was great but service was ok. Took awhile to order and the server didn't top up our water. We tried the stuffed meatloaf which was delicious but a bit salty, prosciutto and pancetta BLT and the hot turkey sandwich. They were all comfort type food with a home like feel. Will definitely be back again and hoping service will be better this time around.
Had the chicken burger with wedges a few times - delicious! The wedges were delicious, well seasoned. The chicken burger was different from one time to the next, the best was with mango salsa. Also the beet salad! MSE is on top of my list for sure.

I have been to the MSE several times. Once shortly after it opened (and received the accolades of Marion Warhaft) and several times since. People might assume this has the same reputation as say...the Marion Hotel, however this is definitely NOT the case. Even though they're connected, the MSE has been turned into this magnificent little hot spot in the heart of St Boniface. I've been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and never have I once been disappointed.
I won't lie...I tend to judge a restaurant on its burger. If there's a burger on any menu, I'll order it to see just how they measure up. Stupid. I know. But if the MSE burger was any indication of how the rest of their food was going to taste...I knew I was going to be coming back for more. I really can't even write too much about the following meals I've had at this location, because they're always just so good. And everyone who I've gone with has usually said the same thing. The menu is small, but i feel like that's not a bad sign. There are plenty of options for each dietary need, and guaranteed to taste so good. I feel like restaurants with novels as menus are cheating and they're just slinging out passionless food. This menu is heartfelt and hits the spot. Fresh ingredients that are well cooked. It's that formula that makes this place so great.
Our service has always been spot on as well. Never too intrusive, yet our glasses were never empty. One morning this past weekend, I went with my parents for breakfast (as it's also a favourite of theirs as well). We got there just before the rush (keep in mind it was also a long weekend, of Festival du Voyageurs...so there was definitely going to be a rush!). Of course, we lost track of time, next thing you knew, we had been sitting there for 2 hours chatting. Having worked in the food/restaurant industry, I know how badly this sucks for a server when they have people who take forever to leave their section, especially when it's busy. I had kept my eye on the door, seeing people coming in, knowing we should probably be getting ready to leave so others could use our table. I've been at other restaurants where the serving staff will eventually ask their guests to free up their table, or set a time limit of how long you're allowed to sit at your table (ugh...yeah...worst!). Our waitress just happily continued to top up our coffees. (That being said, it's not like we were the worst customers and stayed there for 5 hours...we were there for about 2 hours, tops!) When we returned for dinner 2 days later...our same waitress was on her shift and happily greeted us with a big, "Oh hi! You're back!!" So sweet. Kudos to the serving staff for being just awesome!
The one only teeny tiny reason I didn't give full marks is because it was very cold in the restaurant. Yup. It's winter in Winnipeg, I get that. And I can tell they're trying to rectify that issue by redirecting traffic to a side entrance via the hotel lobby instead of the front Marion St entrance. Totes cool guys...sometimes it can't be helped! Summer will be here before you know it.
Moral of the story.....this place rocks.

Came here for 10am Saturday morning, place is just starting to get busy. They do not have a huge menu but selection is not bad.
I had the eggs Benny & my boyfriend had the sandwich wrap. My 2 other friends had the lumberjack breakfast. Food took a bit to come out, service was quite attentive.
My eggs Benny was on a croissant instead of English muffin and it was tasty. Good hollandaise sauce. Shredded hash was really greasy though. The wrap was decent, I think the taste of lime was too heavy on the guacamole and it kinda overpowering.
The lumberjack breakfasts were huge! Coffee is decent. All in all it was a pleasant experience and I would come back to try their lunch/dinner menu for sure!

Continues to be outstanding both service and food-wise. Their angus burger is my fav in the city! Eggs benny is also a breakfast fav. And probably on of the best classic poutines in the city. Staff are always warm and welcoming, even when swamped. Super family friendly too. How can you lose?

Excellent food quality and outstanding service. I had the grilled cheese, which was gooey and delicious, along with a lovely Cesar salad. My friend had the beet salad, steak bites and sweet potato fries, which were delicious and well plated. The line up of folks waiting was out the door and every seat was taken, yet the layout is comfortably uncrowded.
I wouldn't recommend their veggie burger, but everyone else's chicken or beef burgers and wraps got rave reviews. Fantastic fries and potato wedges and the endless Mac and cheese plates flying by our table left us drooling. A great cozy spot I would like to revisit.
After writing a glowing and long review of this establishment, this site prompted me to reload the page. Once reloaded I lost the total review, what a waste time writing on this site. I gave the establishment 4.5 stars, but give this site 1 star. Food is memorable and the room is socialable, without being loud. And after writing in detail why it's so good and loosing all that was written I just won't waste more time on this site. And here in lies the rub, this site rates it's reviewers in a category, one that inhibits the reviewers reviews from being published, because of poor mechanics. This site only exists because people like us write about the places we frequent and then makes it hard to pubilish. They just lost a non paid asset, I quit. It actually feels god to quit a position where you don't get paid to promote a corporation's existance.
I came here when it first opened and have since moved provinces but is always one of my go to's when visiting and glad to see it's still as impressive as before and growing in popularity..Great quality food, fresh, flavourful, good portion sizes, attentive staff, beautiful decor and ample parking. New breakfast menu rolled out too. A must try!
This was my 3rd time here and it continued to be a great experience. Great tasting food, great atmosphere, and friendly and accommodating service! I had the Bison Burger meal and loved it. They had carrot dill soup today as well which was fantastic. Will definitely come here again.
I love this place! Since coming across this gem, we've been back numerous times. The macaroni and cheese is a group favourite. The salmon salad, Reuben, chicken fingers are also very tasty. We've never had to wait for a table considering its a smaller restaurant and the wait staff are quick and friendly
I'd heard such consistently good reviews about this place for so long, so I was excited to try it out for my favorite meal...breakfast! The place is hipster/country quaint and there are nice decor touches. The most disappointing part of the experience was the small breakfast menu, with 8 main options. There's one choice of most breakfast standards, but I found myself flipping the menu looking for more. Our party of 3 ended up choosing the eggs benny and 2 Mexican breakfasts. Our meals were delicious and homey, although the eggs benny didn't really need to be on a croissant. Overall, it's a good restaurant that I fully support, but I wish it wasn't so over hyped and I wish there were more breakfast options.

Today's restaurant we're heading to is Marion Street Eatery, which has been highly recommended on Zomato. There's tons of diverse options here, but not enough to confuse you.
Comfort food done right. Make sure you go early, it gets packed for breakfast and lunch! Their mac and cheese is to die for, creamy, warm, cheesy with ham and broccoli served with a choice of soup, salad or fries. Their salads are all served with their homemade vinaigrettes, I had the balsamic ginger which was fantastic. Generous portions as well. Cute decor. I will be back often.
Came to this restaurant based on a recommendation from a friend. Area wasn't in the best condition so I wasn't expecting much. Wow, was I surprised. A comforting look, each area providing their own different feel. Waiter answered my questions confidently and food came quickly despite the lunch rush. Would recommend, and would go here again.
This was a nice place, with fairly tasty food. They had so many employees working at the time I went so service shouldn't be an issue. Pretty expensive though.

Great burger, the patty was moist but not too juicy. Bun was soft and fresh and held up while eating. Toppings were fresh and the cheese and bacon very noticeable.
This is one of my absolute favourite places to go. I like their breakfasts, I've tried almost everything on the menu. YUMMY!!!! Love the service. I spend quite a bit of time there as I have a super long break in my schedule. They all know me. Super friendly staff. They have a forever customer with me.
It's alright. Similar feel to Stella's, about 20% cheaper and about 20% not as good. A worthy place to stop for breakfast if you are in the area, but not worth making a special trip for. Nice ambiance and service.

Recently I had a great lunch at the Marion Street Eatery.
Do not let the fact that the hotel is a well-known biker bar dissuade you. The dichotomy works, and everyone is happy.
It is noteworthy, though, that parking in front is reserved for bikes. There is plenty of vehicular space available behind the building, or across Marion or on the side streets.
We sat outside on the Eatery's wonderful patio, which is pleasant and comfortable, with lots of colourful plants and flowers, and large umbrellas to shield you from the sun.
I had the Veggie Burger ($11.25) which includes a chick pea and wild rice patty, pesot aioli, roasted corn puree, very tasty balsamic red peppers, spinach, and tomatoes on a Kaiser bun. Accompanied by a choice of five sides, It was huge! It was a delicious and very filling meal.
My meat-lover was very satisfied by his Bison Burger ($13.75); a 6oz. patty topped with a peppercorn rub, Guinness BBQ sauce which he found a bit too sweet for his taste, Havarti cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes topped with very tasty and unique crispy sweet potatoes tucked under the Kaiser bun.
The special summer drinks were tasty and refreshing.

I will definitely return and introduce this local treasure to others. I hope to try their very popular weekend breakfast. If you're also interested, be prepared to wait. They do not take reservations.
Bestie Melinda arrived Friday evening of the weekend of my birthday soiree. We headed from the airport to The Keg Steakhouse + Bar which was appropriate since we both worked there when we had just met at 19. In the lounge that evening was one of the waiters from 40 years prior so we had a little catch up chat with him as well.
Delicious eggs Benedict. I especially enjoyed how the poached eggs were served on top of croissants, as opposed to this usual English muffin. The flakiness of the croissant contrasted well with the soft texture of the egg, and the smooth hollandaise. I'll be back! Oh! And their coffee is good!
Had a great dinner here. The Cuban sandwich was very nice. I can't speak to authenticity, but taste wise it was excellent. It had a really good balance between all the ingredients. The portions were huge and everyone I was with enjoyed their meals.
We had some bad luck when we went here - the oven was broken. However, we could still order anything that did not have to be cooked in an oven. I ordered tomato soup and it was delicious. While we didn't get the full experience here yet, I look forward to going back as it's a great atmosphere on the patio - and great selection on the menu. Just wish they stayed open later.

Had the BLT which was different...filled with a maple infused mayo, Prosciutto, bacon etc...not three pices of bread but two home made buttery toasted bread slices and thin home made fires...absolutely a different BLT and exceptionally tasty.
Partner had the turkey with gravy on a slice of home made bread with a garden salad with a in house dressing which was unique and had a wonderful flavour.....endless coffee
Waitress was a tall blonde girl with braided hair...don't know her name but she was informative and an exceptional server.

Stopped by for a late Saturday lunch. Was a bit of an odd start when we were told we'd have to wait 10 minutes to be seated or served when there were open tables. Apparently they had apart of 12 that had jammed up the kitchen badly. Did get seated and did get served and really enjoyed the food. Had the ultimate Bly and chorizo soup. Also sampled the lime shrimp on polenta which I must say was the best polenta I have eaten in my life. Will be back for more.

Visited with my Family Sunday morning, it was one of the first times we had to wait but while we waited we were served Coffee in the lobby which made the decision to wait much better seeing as we had two kids with us. Food was excellent as always. Service was a tad slower but everyone was very pleasant.

I wouldn't change a thing. Clean facility, friendly and attentive server, food did not disappoint, in fact it was better than anticipated. Water carafe at the table is a nice touch. Price is reasonable, and atmosphere is bright and stylish. A new favourite.
Best Onion Soup!!! My peeps had the stuffed meatloaf which came with potatoes and gravy. Delish, but could have used the color of some veggies, though they give you the choice of a side.
Amazing breakfast place! My boyfriend and I now have our new favourite place to come on those Saturday mornings after a long night. Delicious food, awesome service and a BEAUTIFUL atmosphere. I have yet to try food that's not on the breakfast menu, but I hope to soon!
So damn good! Lunch rush is a bit of a wait (20-25 mins) but SO worth it!

Staff is nice. Quick service even when super busy. Food I've tried is very good! I have tried the Mac and cheese, certified angus beef burger with fries, bison chili, skewers and grilled cheese , all were very satisfying! Highly recommend this place! The price is also very reasonable. Each dish I had were big portions of the food for a very cheap price!
It's alright. I've eaten here on several occasions. Beautiful interior, I've never eaten a dish here that has blown my taste buds away. I think the food here has been hyped up a little too much, service has always been great and the food good. I'll be back.
Excellent food, friendly decor, and a nice patio that would be good for summer time. They don't take any reservations so it's first come first serve. We went on Saturday around 1 o'clock and waited about 15 minutes before we got a table. Small menu but very good selections. We ordered the Cubano and the big cheese burger and they came with delicious side soup and salad.

We had to go back with more people to try more dishes. Ordered the Rueben, grilled cheese, chicken pot pie, and the burger. Every single dish was delicious. We went around 11am just as the breakfast menu was finishing. Wait was only about 10 minutes and food came out very fast.
I’ve been here a few times before and Marion Street seems to outdo themselves every time. It’s a comfy spot with friendly staff. It’s short menu is nothing short of spectacular. Great portions, good prices, and amazing flavours, I’ll come back here again and again and again.

The brisket hash is large enough to share especially with an extra poached egg (comes with one). The salad is sizable enough that a half order should be enough as a full meal. The Bohemian Wrapsody is tasty with a hint of heat from the sriracha sauce. Great choice as a flavorful vegan lunch option.
Dear heavens, that was an unexpected delight! I had low expectations waltzing into the Marion, but this little eatery was elegant and nicely laid out.
I could easily have ordered 6 or 7 different dishes off their menu, the choices all looked so great. I ended up going with the brisket hash.
So glad I did. Could have pulled the brisket apart with a fork... Laid on crisp potato cubes with a poached egg (perfectly done) laid across the top. There were pickled onions and a sweet and spicy little aioli drizzled across. 10/10 would recommend. So very good!
Prices were reasonable and the coffee was good.
Will definitely be back to try the Benny.
The Marion street eatery is among my favourite places to go in Winnipeg. It’s pretty causal with unique decorations. The food has always been delicious and staff so kind. I love the beet salad personally! Highly recommend.
The service is always friendly, prompt and welcoming at the MSE. Love the decor and ambience. But also, the food is fantastic. Everything on the menu is worth trying. It's all phenomenal.

The atmosphere of the place is chill and wide. Would recommend going there for breakfast as well!
I heard they have great coffee, but I'm yet to try that next time.
