Review Hikari - Windsor

Amazing! My boyfriend and I booked reservations for our anniversary here. We had been wanting to go here for a while but lockdowns made it difficult and we didn't want our first experience here together to be ordering takeout. The experience was well worth the wait!! The staff is amazing and polite, and the food came out in an orderly fashion, and fast, too! The portion sizes are pretty big, so the prices are definitely worth it. I would come back here again in a heartbeat! My only downside is the menu does not state the price of their drinks, we ended up paying nearly $4 for a can of coke. But otherwise this place is amazing and I am definitely going back when I can!!

Amazing food. Chirasha bowl is my favorite and tempura is great too! Reservations are recommended as they can get quite busy sometimes. We did have one disappointing experience when we came with a large group as some food didnt come out in time and some were incorrect even after a long time but it was on a particularly busy day, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Otherwise nice atmosphere and service is good too. Would recommend!

This restaurant was impressive. The selection was nice, perfect place to go for a birthday or anniversary. Staff are kind and the food was exquisite. I am rating this a 4/5 because the chairs were uncomfortable and parking was inconvenient. Definitely will eat here again though!

I would give it a 4 since the only restaurant that I know that offers Bento in their menu. The food is not that bad. I have not tried their sushi yet aside from the sushi that comes with the Bento. I have been hearing stories from people that they have the best sushi in Windsor. I will definitely be back. Oh and the server is very nice. :)

Very friendly staff; we changed the time of our booking multiple times and they cooperated really well. It has a very nice and quiet ambience with great customer service. We started with Shrimp Tempura and Sashimi Salad. Followed with Dynamite Roll, Green Dragon Roll, Red Dragon Roll, Philly Roll and Crunch Spicy Salmon Roll. They were all fresh and tasted great. I definitely suggest trying the Sashimi Salad.

Really wanted to try Tang soo yuk for the first time after seeing it online. It was way too bland and the sauce didn’t make it much better either. The Bibim bap had very little meat and was just average in flavour, I’ve had better. Also ordered a matcha latter which has very little tea and huge amounts of ice. Overall everything was way too expensive and not very flavourful or satisfying. Not sure about the Japanese side of their menu but I won’t be back 😕

Perfect place for dates! My go to double spot with my boyfriend and our friends. The staff are always nice and the food is amazing. The best sushi place in Windsor. They deserve to be recognized. Not only is the food good too, but the atmosphere is perfect. I love this place.

Best sashimi in Windsor, and very competitive prices. Fish is fresh and delicious. We order regularly and it's always a treat. Be aware there is no free parking, feed the meters. Still worth it!

I absolutely was raving about how delicious and fresh this sushi is- by the far the best I ever had a year ago last summer, told all my friends to try it. Unfortunately, this took a wrong turn and worst impression when my fiancé booked a reservation on Valentines day (last week) for 8:30 pm. We arrived at 8:20 and were seated a couple minutes later. Restaurant had about 40-50 guests MAX. (And most had their orders/were close to finishing) we ordered a glass of white wine and a gingerale. The drinks came out quick. Then for the appetizer- we ordered edimame and shrimp tempura- this came out within 10 mins (also, totally fine) then we proceeded to order our meal- spicy salmon rolls and lobster rolls- (16 rolls total) then 9:20 came around... no waiter to refill our glass..... then 9:45.... still nothing (mind you they were all standing around talking not even serving.) AND TO TOP THIS OFF 3 walk ins came in and got served almost 20 minutes in during this time! My fiancé made a comment about waiting ten more minutes...Giving them the benefit of the doubt. 10:11 pm.... we walk up to the counter and respectfully, ask then why our food hasn't arrived.... startled and confused... they admitted to forgetting about us and giving our order to THE WRONG TABLE. So again, calmly we asked if we can get our food and they said we have to wait so they can re make the rolls.... we said we are hungry, frustrated and LEAVING. Around 10:30 we got drive-thru food and decided to call the restaurant for a manager and file a complaint for this carelessness and unprofessionalism... the manager answered (we asked if it was her/him) and she confirmed THEN we explained the situation and she said "next time you come in we will comp the rolls" SO Tuesday Feb 18th- we decided to use the comp (4 days later) and called to say we were coming (under my fiancé's name that the manager took down) and they said "oh no we can't do that you only waited an hour it's our policy" MEANWHILE WE WAITED NEARLY TWO! again, I asked to speak to the manager and this time a manager by the name of SU said "sorry everybody waited you aren't entitled if you come in you have to pay" I explained how much I loved their sushi genuinely, and I never do this but this was an absolute JOKE! Again, she said she cannot do anything for us.....<br/>I AM BEYOND UPSET and disgusted at this pathetic service!

SERVICE IS GARBAGE. DIDNT EVEN GET A CHANCE TO TRY THE SUSHI. RUINED VALENTINES DAY 2020! BOOKED RESERVATIONS ON VALENTINES DAY FOR 8:30PM....Wife ordered a glass of wine and by 9:45pm she couldnt even get a refill or OUR FOOD THAT WE ORDERED AN HOUR BEFORE. We watched MULTIPLE walk in customers get platters of food and get checked up on every 10 mins...."SUE" THE MANAGER IS A JOKE. WORST SERVICE IVE EVER RECIEVED IN MY LIFE. NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN! THANKS SUE!!!

Definitely will be coming back to dine here and it’s one of the better sushi places that are available for downtown Windsor.

we got the all you can eat and heaps of options! we tried just about every sushi plus some beef, chicken and ice cream!<br/><br/>friendly staff, understanding of food allergies wnd so quick! :)

Good sushi and a super cool atmosphere! A bit pricey on some of their sushi but I'd go back just for the authentic atmosphere and creative sushi options.

I visit this place every few weeks when in town. Never had a bad experience.

Overall, it’s okay. Like my colleagues said “it’s not what we are used to” and “take it for what it is”. I’ll go back to my comment earlier that in light of the alternatives in the area, you’d likely find me at Hikari again. FYI, Hakari closes between lunch and dinner hours. Call first before making your way there.
