I have a permanent craving for the food from Bread Meats Bread. A giant menu isn't necessary when everything is delicious, fresh and well made. I truly can't recommend it more. (The Dragon Lady with a side of gnocchi is my personal fave!)
The Italian Job. Say no more.
This was my first time at this little funky place downtown. Subway tile, exposed brick, exposed metal, bamboo countertops. Real nice look to the place. I was hoping the sandwich was as equally as good, and I was not disappointed in the slightest.
Perfectly toasted and crispy bread, very flavourful and moist meat, crispy crackling, and that lemon gremolata? Holy cow. Pork actually, but you get my drift. Absolute perfection in a sandwich. You definitely have a repeat customer!
This place just gets it, and they do it the right way. First things first, I love the interior design of Bread Meats Bread. It almost reminds me of a French design with the exposed kitchen and lighting. Next is the service, the owner makes your food, and the staff is so nice. And I can’t forget about the incredible music that they keep on the speakers. Lastly is the food, and this is exactly what any person should like to see: A small simple menu with flavours that work, and fit the theme of the restaurant. I’ve been able to try 3 of the 4 sandwiches within a week, and it’s everything that makes a great sandwich. Juicy tender meat with the perfect accoutrements, and a soft warm bun. This place should be on everyone’s list.
The food is made with good quality local ingredients. The sandwiches are good and the gnocchi is especially delicious! However, the sandwiches are on the small side for the price with fries not included.
Great new addition to the downtown food scene. Great staff, passionate owners. Amazing food get a combo with a side of gnocchi.
Amazing food! Best broccoli soup I have ever had! Gnocchi was amazing and the sandwich was delicious! Followed by a yummy s’mores dessert and cappuccino! Service was so professional it was like eating in a fine restaurant but the vibe is friendly and casual! Love it.
I've been following on Facebook for some time and finally gave them a try for the Eat Your City Restaurant week. Brought the entire family. We were all very impressed. The place is small but cozy. Most people seemed to do take out. Staff was friendly and talkative. Food was excellent. Best gnocchi I've ever had. Was very pleased to see that items on the eat your city menu would be joining the regular menu. Speaking of which that menu is very focussed. I respect a place that knows what they are good at and just do that. Not trying to be all the things. Will be back.
I’ve been here a few times now and every time just gets better. The prices are great and the food is even better. The portions feel properly sized. I never feel like I’m overeating.
And, as expected, the sandwiches are incredible. The ingredients go so well together but I never feel overwhelmed with too much flavour. Also, the hot sauce that comes with the sandwiches is easily one of the best sauces I’ve ever had.
tl;dr this is a fantastic place and more people need to know about it.
Great food, super friendly service. Homemade hot sauce that is served with the sandwiches is no joke! So good, we bought some to take home. Small menu, but what they do, they do well. I love that they serve locally made craft beers, and the gnocchi with cheese is a must try.
Wonderful staff, the owner is very nice, and the food fantastic.
My wife and i were looking all around town for decent catering, while walking downtown i saw the sign and loved the name, so we went to try it. We fell in love with the food at first bite, the atmosphere is wonderful too. So, we got them to cater for our 40 person event, they were fast, friendly, and prompt.
Would highly recommend this establishment, be it for a date, an event you need catered, or simply a snack run, all of their food is top notch.
(Ps they are opening a burger joint soon as well, i can't wait to try that as well)
