My fiance and I had dinner there last night. Perhaps not the best night to enjoy the view since the snow got heavy just as we left the house, but it cleared up soon enough; one second there was an expanse of white, the next boom! A city!
The decor was clean, modern and simple so the view is the star of the show. There is carpeting and table linen but otherwise it is all hard surfaces so the noise level is higher than I like but not bad, and that is the worst thing I can say about the place.
We ordered the calamari to start and it was perfect. Gluten causes problems for me but the calamari smelled so delicious that I risked a bite. My fiance got to eat the whole thing.
For mains I got the beef bourguignon. I am a little snooty about this dish because the first time I had it was in Paris and I make it regularly myself. I won't say I did it better, only different, (I put a whole bottle of wine in mine) but I was very happy I ordered it. The quality of the beef was wonderful, the flavour was rich and the presentation very nice.
My fiance ordered lobster ravioli and was surprised and pleased to see an actual lobster tail on his plate. Again, done to perfection, flavour and presentation excellent.
Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and was just the right balance of attentiveness. She helped to make our visit as good as it was.
The prices are in line with the level of the cuisine and surroundings, actually all things considered the prices are quite fair.
The reviews of Fourteen seem to be very polarized, either love or hate. I'm glad we decided to make up our own minds. We will recommend Fourteen and we will certainly be back.
Loved it!! Great first time experience! Friendly and attentive staff! Good service! Table by the window! Loved the view! Delicious dinner! Would definitely recommend!! See you again:):)
Amazing views! Great environment and awesome food, amazing drink menu and staff was really kind and service was fast... not that we were in a rush but wow! Amazing stuff, would definitely come again!! Live music was a great touch to the night as well...
My guests and I had a five star lunch. The exceptional service, the food and its fabulous presentation, coupled with the delightful atmosphere and view, made this a perfect spot to do a little business, while enjoying the ambiance and grand view. of Fourteen. My compliments to Chef and all! From arrival to departure, the experience was 1st class. Thank you!
Perfect night out for my boyfriend's birthday with incredible food, a beautiful view, and phenomenal service! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Have enjoyed dining here each time we’ve come. Had the surf & turf. My beef was cooked to perfection at a lovely medium rare, and my husband’s duck was delicious- I almost wish I’d had that over the beef! Especially liked the cheesecake. Not overly sweet, but the candied orange peel on top made it stand out as unique and gave it the perfect crunchy texture and sweetness. Our server, Tanya, was bubbly and fun to chat with. Will return again in the future!
Just had dinner their last night! Had their salmon and it was delicious and the view is just amazing to watch while enjoying my food! Great staff and great atmosphere!
We had our parents 50th Anniversary get together last night and it was amazing. Food was wonderful, view beautiful no rush to get in and get out. Marcello our waiter was exceptional. What a wonderful venue to celebrate with our parents!! Thank you so much for your hospitality
I’ve visited twice and loved Fourteen both times! View is unmatched in Windsor, nothing else like it. Live music was fantastic on a Saturday night. Food was delicious and fresh, we all loved our meals. Drinks were a good price and excellent! Definitely recommend for a fun night out with the girls, or a romantic date night!
Service was excellent and attentive. View near sunset and at night wonderful. Appetizer were good but some of the main courses were a bit dry. Great drink menu though
Gorgeous view, wonderful service from our host and our esteemed server. We booked for about fifteen minutes from sunset, and enjoyed a dynamic view of the skyline as night settled in and the city lights began to glow. For our anniversary, I could not imagine a more romantic location. Dinner was impressive, dessert was sumptuous, our drinks were crafted impeccably. I cannot recommend enough. Salud!
Incredible food, quite large portion. Great staff, we had Zoran helping us and he was amazing! It is also a great location to see the Detroit skyline!
Love the view love the food loved our waiter
Tonight also . Thank you Marcelo for your excellent service! The chef here is great . We enjoyed the the lobster gnudi ( soooo good). The char on the leaks with the pop of the tomatoes in the creamy sauce along with the lobster made all the flavours pop and was balanced so nicely . the scallops and sausage casarecce was great. The beef tips was also a fav for us. Salty savoury and meaty :) . We also tried the crab cakes this time as the scallop starter was MIA sadly . They were good, but better when eaten with the accompanied salad and sauce. Looking forward to another visit. Compliments to the chef and the service .
Top floor of an office building downtown, with great views of the Detroit skyline. We had the charcuterie board to start that had a delicious selection of local cheeses and meats. Plenty of bread! The mushroom pasta and beef tenderloin were both delicious and tender mains. Service was exemplary! We’ll be back when we get a chance and highly recommend.
Wow. Every bite literally sang in my mouth. For apps we ordered crab cakes, beef tips, and the charcuterie board. For the main he got a lobster tail with ricotta "dumplings" and a lovely sauce and I got the lamb shank with polenta and veg. Wow. Just wow. I'm not joking when I say every mouthful was an experience. The layers of flavour, the mouth-feel, how the flavors relate to each other was just wow. Every bite I was smiling and my eyes got a little wider each time. The meat of the lamb completely fell off the bone, the polenta was creamy and the gravy was smooth, the taste divine. That, contrasting with the crispy kale was again, wow. I tasted the lobster and ricotta dumplings he ordered and no joke, every time the dumpling hit my tongue it felt like a pillow, soft, and comforting. Those coupled with the sauce were perfection.
Our server, Amber, was absolutely amazing. Very attentive and friendly! There was a party going on while we were there and she offered to move us and was constantly checking in to see if we were okay with the atmosphere. She definitely takes pride in her job and excels in it.
Overall, it was a great way to celebrate my 30th birthday. This is the kind of experience everyone should be able to partake in at least once in their lives. If you're not used to paying a steeper price for food, it could catch you off guard, but every mouthful is worth it. The chef is highly skilled and you pay for his expertise as well as the quality of the food. You will not be disappointed!
Absolutely zero complaints!
We will definitely be back!
Elegantly appointed with a nice ambience. The table by the window brings up the silhouette of the Detroit downtown waterfront. The food was professionally served and tasted great. All those amplified the pleasure of dinning here with a few friends.
