Review Bubi's Awesome Eats - Windsor

A landmark restaurant in Windsor Bubi's like many other restaurants has undoubtedly had a tough time since covid hit. We arrived around lunch time on a Saturday and were quickly seated. It took quite awhile to get our food but I'm guessing they are short staffed which is an issue plaguing many restaurants and retail businesses so totally understandable. Although it would have been nice if the appetizer came out before the main as opposed to after. Please note they do not have a kids menu. Nor will they serve you a half portion of something. This strikes me as a bit odd. How hard is it to create a few items at a smaller size (like chicken fingers) and call it a kids menu? I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was really good except please note it is not a sandwich per se but the meat is on top of a piece of bread. The serving size was pretty generous though so really no need for another piece of bread on top of it I suppose . I recommend the pizza crusts and if you do get them make sure to order "Windsor style" which includes shredded pepperoni, mushrooms and cheese. I would recommend Bubi's (just maybe not for young kids ) and feel bad for these owners and workers as I know they must be struggling. One of the reasons we continue to dine out is to help support local business like this.

Was a regular customer and loved their burgers but hadn't been there in about 5 or 6 years. The 6 foot dandelion growing in the step of the entrance should have been a clue and the inside hadn't been swept in a while. The appetizer and drinks we decent but my 1/3 pound burger was under a 1/4 of a pound for fun and was tasteless but really chewy. When I told this to the manager he informed me about shrinkage during cooking and a lot of other BS. He had had this conversation many times before. You got my money this time...good bye forever...we won't miss each other.

Very disappointed. My order came to 100$ for 4 burger meals but that wasn't the problem. If I'm paying 22 dollars a meal(burger and fries)and you send out bugers that looked and tasted like preformed burgers from the grocery store then I'm won't be ordering or recommending them ever again. What happen to their amazing burgers from back in the day. Will say bubi's sauce is still great

We have been here several times pre-pandemic. We love the food!! We drove an hour with friends because we were excited they were finally open, again. While we were 25 minutes out, we realized no one had made a reservation. We called, told them we were 25 minutes out and asked if they had a spot for 6. They said they did so we continued on. When we got there, they said the wait would be an hour; that some other people had come in before us and even though we had phoned ahead, we would have to wait. I don’t know what happened between our phone call and arrival but we lost the table. We won’t be back. We’ve always had great service before but that experience soured the place for us.

The food here is so delicious. It's why they were featured on the Food Network. Th Dillon fries are out of this world with garlic sauce and parmesan cheese. Will be back again and again

June 4th went for my birthday with 3 sisters. We all ordered Best of Chicken it was so overcooked literally burnt. They had a party of 20 coming after us. The only excuse we got was kitchen was overwhelmed. It was taken home to feed the dogs. Salad was limp like it was under a heater. Terribly disappointed that it would be served to a patron No excuse

I haven't been to Bubi's in a few years. In the past couple of weeks have stopped in twice. Both times the food and service was very good. The sandwiches and burgers were awesome. Each time they were served quickly and nice and hot. They have a number of different options and choices for lunch and dinner. They also have great looking desserts, but we were too full to try them..maybe next time. There is plenty of parking in the area. Most of it is metered.

Very over rated…hamburger was dry, fries cold and service was slow and inattentive. You will get a better burger at Harvey’s or 5 Guys. I will not go back.

My family and myself went in for a late dinner last night, let’s just say after the experience we will never be back - as a waitress myself the service was horrible, between receiving my virgin Caesar that looked as dark as Pepsi due to an excessive amount of Worcester sauce , asking for a new one , with barely a response, the waitress just grabbed it and walked away with it . We than received our appetizer which I can say was pretty tasty ( the fried pitas ). My boyfriend and I always get two meals and split, we asked about the price different if we were to Just get the burger instead of the whole meal, and in a condescending tone she said “ sure you can, but it’s just going to be the same price “ which I think is Ridiculous! So we ordered the fantazztic burger meal and the hilly cheese steak both with poutines - considering the price of the meals to begin with to upcharge 2.00 for a Pouting that was smaller Than my step daughters fries That came with her KIDS meal literally flabbergasted me. The burger wasn’t bad just small for The price , the philly cheese steak had no taste and the peppers were so big they weren’t grilled properly and were crunchy. The waitress came and went so fast to the point when my boyfriend was asking for another beer , he had to yell it to her as she walked Away smh - she pretty much forgot about us as we sat there plates piled at the edge from our appetizer being done before our meals even came and napkins on our plates which is a show sign we are done - we literally left stating we will never return - I don’t know why people rant and rave about this place , cause everyone I have spoken to had complained about the service and or the food. Time to rethink your business ethic I guess .

This used to be a regular hangout for me and my dad. For years we could always count on good food for a reasonable price, good service, and a good time. After a while, the service started to slip. If the manager wasn't around to make sure everyone was doing their job, you might wait an hour or more for your server to remember you existed after you asked for the bill. After a string of frustrating experiences, we decided to take our business elsewhere. Today I had a craving for an Alamo burger. We decided it might be fun to stop in at Bubi's for old time's sake. The food came quick, and the burger was as good as I remembered, but now instead of a generous helping of wedge fries you get a tiny helping of waffle fries. You eat four or five of them and they're pretty much all gone. It's an insult. True to form, our waitress (who had a fun personality, at least) disappeared after checking on us a few minutes after we got our food. When we were finished, we had to ask someone else to go find her. She decided to take a break in the middle of serving us without notifying anyone. Who knows how long she would have ignored us for if we decided to try and wait it out like old times. The real slap in the face was getting the bill. I understand some businesses have elected to raise their prices in response to the increase in minimum wage...but $50 for two burgers and two soft drinks? Are you kidding me? We could have gone and had a great meal at The Cook's Shop (a much "fancier" restaurant) for that amount of money, and we would have received much better service. The only thing that stopped me from not giving our waitress a tip she didn't earn was my stubborn conscience. I need to see someone about getting that little voice in my head to shut up at times like this. It's sad to come here and find so many other people have had similar or worse experiences over the last little while. I see a lot of explanations or excuses from the owner, but no effort being made to right the ship. Bubi would be ashamed.

Really good burgers! I'm not a huge fan of burgers in general but I ordered a Greek burger and really enjoyed it! Their fries were a little soggy but dipping them in Bubi's sauce made up for it lol next time ill be trying their pizza burger. It looks deliciously messy! After reading the back of the menu about Bubi still "haunting" the women's washroom in the basement I'll admit I was a little hesitant to go down there. Lol (They have another bathroom, but it was out of order) The staff are also very friendly and we were very impressed that the waiter took our order without writing It down and got everything perfect! If you love garlic you'll love Bubi's sauce! Highly recommend to anyone who wants a extremely satisfying meal!

I heard awesome things about this restaurant and the portion sizes. I was very disappointed. The food was nothing spectacular not the portion sizes anything the way anyone had described to me, although our server himself was awesome, and the other staff seemed to be equally friendly. I unfortunately would probably not go back.

First time there, the server was very friendly food was excellent huge potions the Bubi sauce is to die for... best service 10 out10 we will be back....

Went there tonight for my birthday. We had reservations for 8 at 6 and they ddint have the table ready when it's literally dead in there. The food was good. Just didn't like how obnoxious one person was an off duty waitress who was being obnoxious at the bar with the bar tender. They were jokingly hitting each other as well as our waitress. Just didn't seem very professional. I've been there 3 other times and they were great and it wasn't that great this time.

The service was great, atmosphere was fine, the beer tasty but the food NOT SO MUCH! Was drawn to the place based on photos that are clearly from an old menu, ie fish??? So burgers it was, I had the basic burger with an onion ring on it at $16! The garlic sauce was too potent ( and I love aioli made it tons in my chefing days) and the burger was to salty. The others at our table not happy overall with their meals either. Won't be back....

So I had not been to Bubi's in like 5 years. I used to love this place. I wanted to treat my friends here, so I took one friend yesterday. The waiter was extremely friendly and professional, 5 STARS TO HIM :) However, the quality of the burger and fries went downhill. I did not finish my food. Usually I would ask for a doggie bag to take it home, but this time I did not. Sadly I will not be returning, and now I have to tell everyone else that we need to find a new place to go.

Was in Windsor for the day and went in with friends. Had the flightless bird burger and fries. The food was fantastic and the garlic sauce was even better. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.

Great great food! However, the service was severely lacking... We sat on the patio and it took forever to take our order. I completely understand things are made from scratch and it takes time but it was quite a long time before food arrived. The food was delicious and amazing! We asked for our bill and we lost our server and had to come to the bar and ask for our bill and get a take away container. Maybe it was just a busy day but was quite a dissapointing way to end a meal at a restaurant we had been looking forward to visiting. Anyways we will be back again another time and hopefully have better service.

Always delicious and good sized portions. Friendly staff. Good service. Bubis sauce is great for garlic lovers. Highly recommend the pork cevapvici.

Good food, good drinks, good friends to have dinner with, nice waitress and waiter, quick service, always love coming here..

First time going there for us too and we went there from London I seen it on food network it's looked so amazing well it wasn't the food was not that great good size portions tho we won't be back So much for " you gotta eat here "
