crab cakes and sangria. might be the best i've had anywhere. always stay away from places that have hot wait staff because it's usually to hide the fact that the food sucks. not here. fried oysters were tits too. hope it's still here next year.
Yummy !!! Loved it!. For us , this is the best place to eat on the strip and the view just makes it even better!
Our lunch on the patio was spectacular, really good Fresh shucked Oysters & Mediterranean flat bread. My husband had the "Kafta burger - we have tried so many different burgers but that was the first time we have ever heard of and tried a 'Kafta Burger', I'm guessing this is something that's their own house style because it tasted and looked homemade and traditional.
Very juicy, flavourful and tenderized meat!! Recommend!
We will definitely be back!!
Everything I ate was absolutely beautiful! Recommend fresh oysters, Thai mussels, and lobster ravioli
Very nice Mother's Day lunch. We enjoyed a very nice lunch for Mother's Day at this cute restaurant right across from White Rock Pier. Nicely decorated, not too noisy, and very good service! (I was surprised to read some of the other reviews - not our experience at all) All our entrees were delicious - smoked salmon flatbread, seafood hot pot, fabulous corn chowder, and a lovely margherita salad. My husband also really enjoyed his hearty prime rib sandwich. Will definitely return again for dinner.
Good Food, but the service...???. The food has always been good quality and delicious. our last experience has me wondering how soon I will return though.
I had made reservations for a party of 4. When we arrived the table was not available yet so we sat at the bar and had a drink, and were completely ok with that as we were not in any rush. One drink turned into 2 and we waited over 45 minutes until we noticed a table had was cleared and then WE had to ask if we could take that table. Once we had moved ourselves and our drinks, we then continued to wait for a server to order our meal. Several had passed our table but none stopped. I finally got the attention of the hostess and asked her if there was server assigned to this table. We order the mussels for an appy but had to ask for the bread that was supposed to come with it. The mussels were excellent.
The disappointing part of the evening was watching the servers congregate at the back of the restaurant to visit and have drinks with their friends sitting at the bar while there were still several tables eating in the restaurant. We continually had to wave someone over to ask for water, to order the main meal, and finally to get the bill at the end. Not good customer service or very professional for a "fine dining" high priced restaurant.
Great location and excellent food. The service was very good and the waitress was in great spirits.
Would definitely go there again and the fact that you need to book in advance tells you that others think so to.
Patio. Great experience tonight at Five Doors Down. We sat on the patio and had a great table for two overlooking the pier.
Service 10 / 10
Food 10 / 10
No complaints whatsoever. Well priced and great food. The Summer Weizen beer on tap was awesome. Will be returning as this has now became our favorite spot in White Rock.
Great food, great service.. Friday night out, Had lobster pasta, fanastic. Defintely go back!
Absolutely fantastic. Delicious food, you must have the clam chowder soup and goat cheese terrine. The wine list is well paired and the ceaser's are to die for. As for the service, you just cannot beat the phenomenal attitude of Sarah...with five women at a table, she was real and accomodating and just downright genuine. The view is a treat as well.
Great restaurant. Beautiful inside, great location, great food, great service. Highly recommend
AAA Angus Burger. 5DD "THE WORKS" ANGUS CHUCK BURGER
bacon, caramelized onions, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, red onion, chedder, roasted shallot aioli and shoestring fries
Lovely Place. This is our new favorite place on the WR Beach. Great looking decor. Friendly staff. (Particularly the blond with the English accent who is genuine, professional and cheerful.)
Food is consistently great. I love the Salmon Flatbread. My wife loves Fish Stew and Coconut Prawns. Also try the Prawn Springroll appy, it is genius.
Dinner with a view. We went out to BC on vacation to visit some family, and enjoy the sights on the coast. After a day of wandering around Fort Langley, and then White Rock, we were getting hungry, and started walking up the strip to figure out which restaurant we wanted to eat at.
We were greeted by a delightful hostess as we looked at the menu, and that more or less sold us, even though we still checked out the other places on the street.
We ordered the Prawns with jalapeno aioli to start, and they were very tasty. Maybe a little heavy on the garlic butter, but I think that's just my preference. This was followed by a Oyster 'Po Boy' for me, and the fish and chips for my wife. Both were very well done. The home style fries that came with my meal were delicious as well.
All in all, it was an excellent meal, and we had a GREAT view of the ocean from their patio.
Nice place. Went there with some friends for some drinks and appys. Good atmosphere good food
Five Doors Down a Authentic Cozy Beach Experience!. I have lived in White Rock for over 10 years now and eat constantly at the beach. I tried Five Doors Down for the first time last Friday Night and had an amazing experience.
The decor is elegant and laidback at the same time. There are white tables and pillars, warm traditional hardwood floors and local scenery painted throughout the walls giving it a unique feel of fancy five star restaurant meets cozy beach house.
I was elated to see that the "Mr. Prawn's Spring rolls" had made their way to the menu from Cielos (same owner). Unfortunately there were no noodles! Oh well, they were still delicious.
I had the burger for my main course. It was quite good, coming fully loaded with extras like cheese, bacon, and veggies ($18). The restaurant has a deal with Oyster Bay so we had a few bottles of the Sauvignon Blanc.
All in all I had a great experience here and would recommend trying it!
Awesome restaurant. The best restaurant in White Rock! Great food and service. A really enjoyable evening out, will be back for sure.
Best burger in Canada. When we were on vacation in White Rock B.C. We rarely went out for dinner. But after we went here and tasted these amazing burgers that all changed. We came here for dinner for 8 days straight. I don't know what chef steve's secret sauce is but it makes the burger the best thing you will ever eat!
Best food in white rock. All I can say is really good service, and the food is so good. I keep going back and ordering the 1 1/2 pound duchess crab. By far the best meal on the menu!
