Review Jimmy Guaco's - Whitby

Food was really good . Chilli fries, tacos, nachos were delicious. Worker recommended some hot hot level spices from the back and it truly exemplified Mexican cuisine. Hottttttt sauces . I recommend this restaurant for good fast food Mexican style cuisine

I bought a lot, it was ok, the burrito seemed loose. There were 5 staff there and only 1 was making the food, it took forever. I was there for over half an hour and it was a "to go" order. There were 2 people in front of me so I was expecting a wait but 2 other people came and went since the wait was too long. Would recommend the chorizo tho. It was great!

Food tasted amazing. However the portion size was a joke. My salad was half full at best and it was supposed to be a large salad. The burrito was a small but should have been called mini. This was not a burrito off of the kids menu either.

I found the staff friendly, the food delicious and reasonably priced and great portions.. They have sparkling water free on tap. It is not a franchise and is privately owned. I ordered sweet potato fries, and a burrito. They loaded it with Good for no extra charge, unlike some chainfood mexican restaurants. Inside it was clean, very tall chairs. I noticed a lot of EMS people visiting. Usually that is a good sign that the food is good....or that you need help.

We enjoy the variety of toppings. However, the proportions can vary drastically. I’m vegetarian and only get the large veggie bowl or the large baja fish bowl and the bowl can range from being a full meal to a bowl that is 2/3 full. Update 2020 07 22: I’ve revisited Jimmy Guaco’s a few time since the last review. Always the large veggie bowl and as before proportions vary. Tonight was no different, 2/3 full again. The picture below is the fuller side of the bowl. I will seek other options for my bi-weekly Mexican takeout.

Really disappointed with my recent experience here. Used to be my favourite go-to burrito place. They were busy when I arrived and seemed that there was only one person able to make the food. I understand being busy, but the woman made a fish burrito then served other customers and touched everything (including putting her hand in the cheese) and she never changed her gloves. When it got to me I told her I have a deathly allergy and asked if she could change her gloves. She tried to argue with me saying she didn’t touch any fish. They should be changing their gloves after every order. The end. I should probably call the health department. They’re lucky I didn’t get very ill. Never again.

Had to wait five minutes to place my order, and there was only one person ahead of me. The size of the meals were very small, especially compared to other popular chains doing the Mexican food thing. Everything seemed metred and measured, including the napkins, of which I got maybe six between three people. The quality of the food was just ok, but again, very small portions, and for the price they charge, is unacceptable. The icing on the cake, $2.75 for a 500ml bottle of pop, yes 500ml. I'm sorry, but you don't even pay that at a bar. Very disappointed, and not a repeat customer.

I placed an order online for two burrito bowls through the website. Told me it would be done by 12:27pm. I go there at 12:30pm and there's no order. The lady working there doesn't even apologize, doesn't say anything. The guy comes in and starts making the bowls. Nobody said anything about the fact that I placed an order and it wasn't ready. Horrible service. Also, the portions have gotten so small! I ordered the Basa fish and the piece of fish was the size of two fingers. Still paid $13 for it. The other bowl was pulled pork and even that they put one small scoop of it. The crushed tortilla chips were stale. So disappointed.

Definitely the better burrito joint of the two in north west Whitby! Don't bother with Mucho Burrito- the service is way more friendly here and the burritos are top notch! Lots of fresh and tasty choices including an option for those who can't eat the tortillas like my sister who has a gluten intolerance. Great atmosphere and fabulous food will make this my go-to spot for burritos in my new city! :)

While mucho burrito makes a good burrito, it just doesn't compare to Jimmy's. Everything was really fresh and there were lots of different yummy toppings. So many great flavors going on in one burrito. Also, they use really good tortillas.

Just went to this place for the first time ever and ordered their signature Jimmy G burrito!! Wow! This was the REGULAR size and when they were done it weighed Two Pounds. It was a perfect meal with just the right heat thanks to the Jimmy G special sauce. I recommend this place Big time! If you like hot stay away from adding the habenero peppers unless you want really hot. So Good!! Please try it out!

Best burritos for miles (not counting the Oshawa Jimmy Guaco's). I've been to the Oshawa restaurant many times, so I knew what to expect. The ingredients, preparation and final product are the same as in Oshawa. In other words, delicious. Compared to other "chain" burrito places, the ingredients are fresher, tastier, less salty, and do not seem to sit in water/sauce/oil for extended periods. Nor do they charge extra for their guacamole. The prices are a bit higher, but I do not mind because I think the better quality is there. My favourite burrito, and apparently for many others, is the pulled pork with the mango salsa. It was highly recommended to me the first time I went to the Oshawa restaurant - I'll pass along that recommendation. I find the tortillas here are a bit thinner and less heavy than other burrito places, but they hold your burrito together just fine until the last bite. You'll have to travel a long way from here to find a better burrito.
