Review Milestones - Whitby

Had a great dinner at milestones. The waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable, and had amazing customer service. The food was amazing as well. The food was delicious; would definitely recommend the Wham-Bam Shrimp, Mediterranean Goat Cheese Platter, Coconut calamari. And the drinks were spectacular- tried Miami Ice,Passion fruit mule. Highly recommend!!!!

Greeted upon entry, I was extremely pleased with the cleanliness and overall ambiance of the restaurant. Waiter Neil and Bartender Jess were very pleasant and created a great first experience at Milestones Whitby. For food I had the Tempura Veggies which is a great light appetizer. I would give it a 7/10. For the main course, I had the Stuffed Portobello Mushroom Cap. Very flavourful and visually appealing. I would give that a 9/10. Definitely would recommend great restaurant for fellow vegans in the area.

Fantastic experience! The hostess was very friendly and took us to our table right away. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about their menu and gave great recommendations. Everything came out very quick and tasted amazing. Both myself a vegetarian and my company who is a carnivore were very pleased. The atmosphere and decor is dark and casual which is very aesthetically appealing. Will definitely return and recommend to others in the future.

Met up with girlfriends for brunch and had a great time! Food and service were both great! Their brunch menu is yum. We brought our kids too so they gave us a more private space which was very helpful!

Came here today for dinner for the first time and had quite an enjoyable experience. Waiter fulfilled all my needs (halal), by going through all the choices, was extremely inviting and made for a great time. You're paying for the atmosphere and presentation here, as this place will be hard for you to forget. The baja fish tacos absolutely slapped!

We went to this Milestones location for my birthday celebration (10th July). We love the Asian chicken bites & Milestone's signature Bellini. I got those & my husband got the full rack of ribs + beer of the day i.e. Stella. Happy to report that meal was fresh , tasty & as per our liking. The wait staff was also excellent. I forget the name of server but he was very attentive, the ribs that my husband got very a bit salt so he brought extra BBQ sauce + coleslaw to balance out the extra salt on ribs. Overall we are satisfied and this will be our goto spot for our birthday & anniversary celebrations.

Ordered steak frites for dinner, decent sized portion. Fries were great with the dip, steak was slightly lacking the chimmichuri butter for more flavor. Our waiter Jason was really good, attentive and personable.

Went out for family dinner. Great staff and service. food was good although the artichoke dip could've stayed in the oven longer. Fish tacos were meaty and delicious. Calamari rings were a little different for my taste. Perfectly cooked but wasn't a fan of the dip. Kids loved their chicken fingers and fries. Drinks were decent, Mule didn't have much kick but nothing to complain about. Overall good experience. We'll go back.

The only words we have for this is SLOW!!!
If you don't want to read the whole review lunch was super slow, meals were subpar and either over or undercooked and waiter was not attentive at all.

Came for lunch with my aunt and brother and over 2.5 hours later we were still there. For all the wrong reasons.
We arrived at 11:47.
We ordered an app to start. The spinach dip came within 15 minutes and was ok. To me it lacked flavour but everyone else liked it so whatever. Not my thing but we are it. Then we waited, and waited. Around an hour after we originally ordered and long after all the dip was gone our mains arrived. (1:15 ish) I got the stacked chicken Parmesan which was overlooked and burnt in places and my aunt and brother the Steak - one was asked for as medium well. After a five minutes it was apparent we were not enjoying our meal so we hailed down the server. The steak was undercooked for her taste so she asked for it to be quickly warmed up to get rid of the blood. The server took the plate and after about 20 minutes the server came by to collect our plates since my brother was done eating and asked asked if her meal had come back yet. What? How does he not know that she watched us slowly eat our meals until they were almost done and she has yet to get her plate back???

Long story short, they threw the old cold plate under the grill top and brought it out with the plate steaming hot so we couldn't touch it. Oh the meat was cooked now, the beans were over cooked and the mashed potatoes were crispy on the top.
It is now past 2pm by the time her lunch arrived that was ordered at noon and we still had a dessert to go because we brought a premade meal deal. At this point we decided forget it we are here for the day and ordered another coffee and took our time since our afternoon plans were shot. We finally got out at 2:45pm

I will never go here again

I've been to Milestones many times, and USED to love the food. It's changed a lot since then. The food is no longer as tasty as it used to be, and is definitely not worth going to anymore. My last visit was not impressive at all, and I have no plans on retuning again.

Had a pleasant experience here as it was mine and my boyfriends first time. We started with drinks - I had a bellagio (it was actually very sugary) and he had a Long Island which was excellent.

Appetizers were the calamari. We noticed that they were hard and rubbery - like old elastic bands with coating and seasoning. The waitress came by and asked if it was okay. We told her that it tasted kind of overdone. We downplayed it a bit because we kind of felt bad for complaining. She apologized several times and promptly took it back to give us a new batch. We thought that was very courteous of her. The manager came to our table with the new batch, chatted us up about how it tasted (which was much better) and then later covered the tab! That was very generous and we appreciated that.

For entrees, my boyfriend got the steak which was done to perfection! I had two more appetizers since I couldn't choose. I had the mussels in garlic sauce and the flatbread with goats cheese, purées and arugula. All was very tasty and I would get them again.

The service was quick and our waitress was very kind and polite. She always had a smile on and made us feel comfortable. I was glad to see a professional manager hard at work as sometime it's hard to find that in a restaurant. Clearly the staff takes their jobs seriously.

Menu changes failed miserably. I used to religiously order the California spring salad and butternut squash ravioli. For some reason, milestones changed their menu. Now, the dishes are overly garlicky, lacking in fresh flavour, sloppily plated, and just disappointing. I could make better food at home, which is what I'll be doing from now on. Furthermore, the semi - fancy atmosphere conducive to special occasions or date nights has now been downgraded to casual, similar to Kelsey's.

Milestones, i ask you, why mess with a good thing? If it ain't broke don't fix it!

You've lost us as customers. Major fail.

Went for lunch and drinks with my husband. We used to be fans of Milestones as a solid dinner and bar option in Durham, but I don't think I'll be back to this location. They've changed the menu and cut a lot of my favorite options. Ordered the chicken pesto pasta, it was bland and horribly presented. I was SUPER disappointed in the drink menu. They've cut all of their cocktail martinis, and the remaining drinks are uninspired. Had the elderflower Collins and it was terrible. Cloying and sweet. On top of that they tried to charge us extra for top shelf gin that we didn't request. The restaurant itself was looking worn and was absolutely filthy. Made me worried about the condition of the kitchen. Overall, service was good, new menu is disappointing and quality of food, drinks and cleanliness were severely lacking.

We have been to this location a couple of times and it has been approx. 2 years since our last visit.
Service was fine but there was an aloofness to the entire staff. With exception to the girl that showed us to the table, she had warmth and animation to her delivery. The food was luke warm. The fire grilled salmon was okay but everything on the plate lacked flavour. Mediocre.
We sat in the bar and everything was tired. The finish was warn off the table, the bar stool frames all needed to be wiped down, as well as the lamp shades and top self large bottles at the bar. Again, mediocre and that just isn't good enough.
6:30 on a Friday night and we had pick of the place for seating. Obviously this is an indication of the mediocrity.

Terrible experience. My husband don't get to go out too often so when the opportuntiy arose we were very excited and chose milestones whitby as our place to go. What a terrible choice :( It took 5-10 minutes before anyone came to greet us. Our servers were friendly (one was in training) and attentive. We ordered the goat cheese app and it was nothing interesting. May have been tastier if it was warm? But it was cold with sweet cranberry sauce and fig puree (at least i think thats what it was) which was super sweet and most likely from a jar. For our entrees we ordered primed Rib with shrimp skewers... here comes the really bad part ... asides from not being cooked to the right temperature (ordered medium rare- got medium) which wasnt a big deal to me but nevertheless, it tasted as though someone poured salt all over it! I took one bite out of the skewer and all I could taste was salt. My husband commented the same. we tried our meals. Everything! was way over salted. I ate half of mine because I was starving, my husband barely ate a third of his. The server asked how everything was, we explained about the salt, he apologized and sent over the manager (which we said he didnt have to) The manager came, said he checked with the kitchen and said we were right (uhm really?) , way too much salt in the food. More apologies, told he would adjust the bill, adjustment did not compensate, I am so tired of going to restaurants and spending my hard earned money on food that ends up like this :(

Terrible Experience. I have gone to many Milestones before but this was the worst experience I have had in any restaurant in some time. I went with my family on Sunday afternoon and had to wait almost 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us at the front door to be seated. The waitress was slow and non attentive. Our food was lousy. My wife usually gets the butternut squash ravioli and it was cold and tough like it had been sitting around for awhile at this location. My daughter needed ketchup for her burger but the waitress was MIA as we had to ask someone else. The waitress never checked once to see how are meals were There were ladies at another table who had to wait longer than us to order. It was an all around terrible experience. With the cost of the meal I would advise you to go anywhere else. I know I will from now on.

Poor food and service attitude. Went for dinner 4 people. ordered prime rib dinner, specifically told waiter medium to rare. came well done with over 30 % fat. advised waiter to return it, he argued with me to the point of becoming disruptive to others and my wife asked him to leave and this spoiled our outing. when I pay top prices for food I expect decent food and not a waiter who argues about it. The manager never came to discuss this or settle dispute. I ate some of the meal and left the meat on the plate and we all left in a very unsatisfied manner. will I go back, not likely.

I always enjoy milestones when I go to other locations but there is always something wrong with my meal when I go to whitby. Once I received the wrong meal. Prime rib fatty and not cooked to medium as requested. I do not recommend this location.

Worst dining experience ever.... My wife and I are devout foodies and consider dining out as one of our most enjoyable and main forms of entertainment. I also consider myself to be very fortunate to be able to dine out quite regularly for business purposes across Canada and the US with my clients. Living in Durham our options are limited, and when we do decide to dine out locally along with our closest friends, we usually frequent The Keg, Baton Rouge and Canyon Creek ( Scarborough). Reason being we love their food, especially their Steaks and Prime Rib and feel these 3 restaurants "consistently" deliver the quality, flavour and portion size we have come to expect. The same goes for their chicken and seafood entree's, consistently flavourful and great value and they keep us coming back. As a change of scenery, the four of us decided to go to Milestones in Whitby. I must ad we had previously been there about 2 years ago, but if I recall I don't think we were too impressed. Our reservations was for 6:45, no problem seating us. I usually order wine with my dinner, however didn't feel like it tonight. Our wives ordered bellini's, however was told the bellini machine was broken. OK we understand things happen,,,NP. Time to take our orders. Our friends ordered caesar salads and both wives ordered prime rib. However was told they were sold out of prime rib. Not sure how you can sell out of prime rib at 6:45pm, especially when on my way back from the restroom noticed NO ONE with prime rib. I ordered the lamb shank and my friend ordered the New York peppercorn steak. Since their was no prime rib our wives then chose the NY peppercorn steak as well. Forty five minutes later, still no caesar salads.ONE HOUR later, our entrees finally arrived. Salads didn't even make it to our table!! Out of the 3 peppercorn steaks served, all 3 temperatures which were ordered were way off. Lamb Shank was just OK,... nothing special and small portion, so naturally overpriced at $27. At this time everyone was so hungry we just ate it as is. I have always had the utmost respect for the service staff and committed to honouring good service when paying my bill. However when dining out as often as we do, it would be foolish to think that every dining experience will be a great one. Things happen beyond anyone's control, and it would be unfair of me to penalize the person serving me/us when he/she is at the mercy of the kitchen staff. I can see beyond that. As for the salads that didn't make it to our table, our waiter forgot to punch it in. OK NP we all make mistakes. However here is the most unacceptable issue I have and what I experienced at this time. When the wait staff came to our table with our entree's and we asked about our salads, it was completely ignored, and when I started to voice my displeasure about the service and one hour wait time before we got anything on our table besides our drinks, one of the wait staff looked at me, ROLLED HER EYES and just walked away in the middle of my sentence. I have never ever had that type of rude response from a service staff at a restaurant, let alone any other type of establishment where customer service is measured. So our waiter sent out the manager and after explaining our issues he took off half of our bill after all was said and done. That I appreciate, however we were there for a great meal and enjoyable dining experience with our friends and we did not get that. The poor attitude I got from the girl who rolled her eyes and walked away basically tells me, "the paying customer", that 1. you don't care about our dining experience and 2. you don't need our business. If Milestones cared about their patrons they would train their staff effectively and this most likely would not happen. The worst dining experience ever for me and because of that I will never dine at Milestones for pleasure or business ever again.

Great Service. Went to Milestone's tonight and decided to try their meatloaf as I have heard good things from friends. I was disappointed with the meal as it was not what I had expected...it was not awful but it was not something that I would order again.

As this was my first time ordering this item and there was nothing wrong with the way it was cooked I was not planning on making a big deal to our waiter...but as he came around to check on us and asked if I wanted the rest of my meal to go (as there was a considerable amount of the meatloaf left) and I said no he asked what was wrong. I told him that it was not what I was expecting. He apologized for my experience with the food and off he went...

Next thing I know the manager came over and apologized for me not liking the meatloaf and comped the meal. He offered to get me something else to eat as he didnt want me leaving hungry and was very friendly. I told him that I didnt expect for the restaurant to pick up the bill on the meal but he insisted!

By far this was the best experience I have had at a restaurant with regards to my enjoyment of the food!!!

I will go back...wont be ordering the meatloaf...but I will go back!

Depends who you are..... Service at Milestones can be great which, quite frankly, depends on who you are/what you look like. When I dress in yoga wear/look young and don't order wine I tend to get very poor service. It literally seems like the size of your bill determines the level of service you get which is unfortunate considering how much I am willing to tip for great service.
The food is always conisistently good at Milestones (although overpriced, for the most part). Appetizers are always better than the entrees. Salads are basic but fresh and enjoyable. Milestone's is not groundbreaking or even mildly innovative/creative, but they are dependable. A great place to take your parents or your adult children for dinner. Presentation of food is generally quite nice and not too pretentious. Atmosphere is pretty decent, although a little dark for my liking.

Awesome service and food. Had my first visit to a Milestones in October and was really impressed with the attentive service. The atmosphere was as I imagined: warm and comfortable. I had my heart set on steak with a peppercorn sauce and, apparently, they had no peppercorn sauce so I went with another suitable choice that included steak: the brunch! Very tasty appetizers and the dessert selection was fun! Wait staff made sure things were taken care of and frequently asked if all was enjoyable, which it was. I would love it if Milestone's was in Peterborough!

I was here a couple months ago and thought it was pretty good and indeed fast service, spoils menu and well executed nice seafood pasta. Not left overs Why is this place not busier?

Overpriced. Good food, but over priced - not worth it.

Incredible Service!! We went out for our 11th wedding anniversary...fist time put in about 11 years without children. They had high expectations to meet and they were exceeded. It was amazing. A long wait but the service in the bar was great. The food was much better than expected. It was delicious! The server even put sparklers on our dessert for us. It was thoughtful and really made it a great night. It won't be eleven years before we go out again and we will be back to Milestones to celebrate again!

Excellent steak!. The service is just amazing! The steaks melt in your mouth. The wait time can be over 30 minutes, but you can have a drink at the bar while you wait, so it's worth it! Time seems to go faster, and they give you a pager, so you don't miss your table. The goat cheese appetizer is quite original and good!

Bad Patio. Milestone's is always a great place. Never been disappointed. Try the Bellini. However, the patio at this location is a stones throw away from the 401 and the traffic noise is very disracting. It should be on the north side of the restaurant, where it is quieter.
