Review Mexico Lindo - Whitby

We were in Oshawa and decided to try this place for lunch today. Its a small little restaurant on Taunton Rd and decorated very nicely. We tried some authentic mexican dishes and were not disappointed. The chorizo chimichanga was amazing and flavorful. The guachenango was a giant ref snapper which was cooked to perfection. These were served with rice, salad and refried beans. Our littleone enjoyed the chicken quesadilla a lot. I would definitely come back here again to try the other items. Highly recommend.

Husband and I moved into Oshawa recently, but I have seen this place for years. Went for the first time and I regret not going sooner. The food was fantastic! We got the chorizo nachos and the birria tacos, in addition on got a mango drink. All was delicious, was licking the plate! I am usually quite the food complainer but this place was exceedingly good. Highly recommend.

I would drive by this restaurant occasionally, so finally the opportunity presented itself and we ordered quite a bit. This was our first time ordering as well so wasn't sure what to expect honestly but let's start off with the phone order. The young lady who took my order was so pleasant and allowed me to try to pronounce the names of the dishes (I think I did well I didn't butcher them as much as I thought I would). When we got there the restaurant you can only enter on the south side going east not a problem I just turned around on the side street. The restaurant itself was cute and the smells from the kitchen was amazing. You knew from jump that this food was going to taste amazing, or at least that was lingering in my nose. The food was so good I only got a picture of my daughter's fajitas that tasted out if this world. We ordered over $100 worth of food and worth every penny. We will definitely be back to dine in this time so our other daughter can enjoy it as much as the rest of family did.

The food was pricey for the quality and quantity. The entrees we had didn't have much flavour and the rice was dry. The fried ice cream was mediocre. The caramel flan was awful. The service was slow. This place was recommended to us but we wouldn't recommend it to others, at least not for dining in or for the desserts.

Great service but the quality and amount of food was terrible we paid nearly $50 including a tip. I ordered the steak tacos and the tortilla was soft and broken, had to eat the tacos with a fork and threw out the tortilla, the steak was full of gristle. My wife got the quesadilla and it only came with 2 of them. Do better definitely won't be back.

Finally tried this gem of a restaurant. It was delicious! Had a Taco Salad and it exceeded my expectations! Everything was fresh and tasty. My son had the veggie burrito and said it was amazing. The customer service was very good also. Can’t wait to go back.

I had the fajita and my husband had the burrito. We dined in. The hosts were amazing and the environment was classic Mexico. I would definitely go back again.

The best authentic Mexican food outside of Mexico. We drive from Toronto to eat here. Food is fresh, flavourful and authentic. Love that they have proper entrees other than the usual street food like enchiladas, burritos and tacos. Service was great, as well as the atmosphere. We highly recommend this place. The Molletes Cancun and Camarones were great appetizers and the Pozole was fantastic. Pollo Con Mole and Steak A La Nayarita are fabulous entrees; and always always leave room for the Deep Fried Ice Cream, perfect share for two!

I went to this restaurant for the first time with my family. It had a really nice feel to it. The server was really nice, friendly, and memorized our entire party-of-eight's order perfectly. We were very impressed! The food we all ordered tasted fantastic, and was fairly priced for the portions we received. Real authentic Mexican cuisine, indeed! I would certainly recommend and visit here to dine again!

I absolutely love this restaurant. We had a group of 13 and he was honest that he had another big group and recommended coming earlier which we did. The service was wonderful and down to earth joked around with us. The food was fantastic worth every penny. The main reason why we never went was because we thought our kids wouldn’t like it but hey loved it. And the fried ice cream was amazing. Can’t wait to come back again. Thanks again!!

We love this place. My husband is Spanish and he loves the food here because it's authentic Mexican flavors. Chorizo Chimichanga is amazing and one of his favorite things to get here. We always get a side of the chocolate mole sauce and Diablo sauce because they are too excellent to miss and it's so good with everything. We love everything on the menu and we try something new every time. Never disappointed. Service is always good and always with a smile. They are such good people. The go to Mexican place in Whitby.

Excellent food. Flautas were first rate. For a fifth star, upgrade the salsa and quit using a marguerita mix. But the food was five star.

This was our first time since the renovations. We were quite disappointed. The prices went up and the portions decreased. Sangria was still good though.

Started with some guacamole-mmmm! My sister inlaw is a vegetarian and she loved the vegetable enchiladas! I had the Pollo al Limon-love how tart it was! Washed it down with two Dos Equis! Niece had the Pollo Con Mole-so much goodness she took half home! We all finished with sharing a deep fried icecream! Everything was exactly what you expected Mexican food to be and more!!! Would totally go again!!!

Driven by Mexico Lindo for many years and always wondered if it was food. Finally visited on the weekend with my wife. Wow the food was spectacular. We'll definitely be back soon

It was mediocre. Salsa was horrible, the beef burrito was ok but the chicken enchilada was way too salty. The service was so slow and the place needed a good scrub down. I won't return :(

My daughter and I went by last night. We were late they were closing but I have to give the people there a wonderful review. The lady was so apologetic that they were closed, when we told her we just wanted nachos and had driven a long way, she went and got us a takeout of nachos with sauce free of charge. I think this was incredible anywhere else would have just said sorry for your luck. Not here all the employees in there were only too happy to help and send us on our way with food. Thank you we both thought it was very generous and nice of you. We can't wait until we have a chance to come in and enjoy more of your food. Really Nice to go to a family run business where the workers care about their customers. See you soon

I met a friend for lunch and we both enjoyed the delicious food - but the service! Very good service. I will come back for sure!

Authentic mexican food made with passion you can taste in the meals, super friendly experience there, highly reccomended, everything was fresh and delicious

2018/08/11<br/>We were heading back home, and we stopped at Mexico Lindo for dinner. We had been here once before, several years ago, and we had liked it then. <br/><br/>While our server was pleasant and charming, the service was not very efficient. It took quite a while for SWMBO to get the beer she had ordered. Also, it seemed to take a while for our food to arrive, even though the restaurant wasn’t too busy. <br/><br/>SWBMO chose the Acapulco, which included one beef burrito and one chicken enchilada, topped with a mild ranchero sauce. The meal came with salad, retried beans, and Mexican rice. SWBMO was happy with her choice. <br/><br/>I picked the Chicken Fajitas, which came with a generous portion of chicken and veggies on a screaming hot skillet. I prefer my fajita veggies to be cooked a bit more. The were a bit to form to be squished properly in the tortillas. While fajita meals often come with rice and beans, this one did not. That’s okay, it was still a very filling meal.

It’s my first time trying this restaurant, tbh it was worth trying . The food was good, we all loved it, prices were average compared to the portion they serve. But what I really liked is the people who work there, they were super nice and friendly, we enjoyed our time there, and definitely coming back again. Highly recommend it!

If you want Mexican on this area of the GTA, beyond the typical 'Lone Star' style, your options are pretty limited. Fortunately Mexico Lindo is pretty darn good.<br/>The restaurant is located relatively close to a major intersection and it can be a little difficult getting in and out of the parking lot. The seating areas are small and somewhat cramped. On a Saturday night you can wait for a table for a while. But yet it's still worth it because the food is good.<br/>I've had a variety of dishes here over the years and have yet to be disappointed. Lots of variety and levels of spice to suit your personal tastes. While not always quick, the servers are friendly and polite and aim to please.<br/>It's not cheap - around $70 tip in for two including bar tab, but it's not really any different than metropolitan prices around the GTA. And it's good, which does tend to tip the value proposition in its favor. Give it a shot if you're in the area.<br/><br/><br/>

Do Canadians Like Bland Mexican food?. One positive: Super fast, but microwaving frozen meals shouldnt take more than 10 minutes.<br/>I don't mean to be rude when I ask this because I really really want a regular Mexican restaurant that I can go to and enjoy. But I am having a Very Hard time finding a good Authentic Mexican, or text Mex, or Mexican fair, or Cali-mex anything that's not tomato soup esque salsa and Italian based vegetables zucchini Cali flower broccoli and tiny pickled corn all coming from giant wholesale cans or frozen bags .<br/>Visits 2 (ajax one is better but not by much.)<br/>Service was fine but not good, 6.5/10<br/>Atmosphere was ok and semi clean, tables have wobbly legs.<br/>Food, very bland and very poor quality. 3/10 <br/><br/>Overall 6/10

Love it. Like taking a vacation without all the baggage. <br/>Ambiance: great. Food: fabulous. Margarita's: Mmm, Mmm, mmm!<br/>Anything with the choriso. Usually the stuffed peblano peppers.<br/>It's fun and nice that it's a family run place.

This restaurant is genuinely great. My family and I tried eating here a few weeks ago and have been back a number of times sense. The restaurant has a good, full menu of Mexican/Latin-inspired items which are authentic enough to be flavorful and provide the "Mexican" experience while being just Americanized enough to be familiar. The staff are all friendly and great. Great portion sizes. You have to wait a bit for the food, but only because it's fresh and made with care. On Fri/Sat/Sun when the place is really busy, there is no drop in food quality. A great experience every time so far.

Old Ajax location is better. The food is still good, but I have found the last few times I have go to the Whitby location they are getting ruder and ruder. Esp the older employees and sr. staff. They never smile and behave like you are disrupting their day. Ironically, the young kids are actually very polite and seem to be in better moods.<br/><br/>This location is closer to me but I will drive to the original Ajax location from now on. They treat you like family and act like they are happy to see you.

Will Visit Again. Went to the Whitby location. Friendly, casual atmosphere. Servers very polite and helpful. We had the quesadillas and enchiladas. They were served hot, freshly made and tasty with generous servings. Only thing they need to change is the complimentary salsa and chips they serve when you first sit down at your table. Salsa is very watery and bland like tomato soup. Better to change the recipe or not serve it at all as it gives a negative first impression that doesn't do justice to the other food served here. We asked for hot sauce and then added it to the salsa and that helped a lot. Other than that, we will definitely visit again to try their other Mexican offerings.

AWESOME FOOD!!!. Bit road side Diner look from outside. But Meal was awesome and service was to match!!! I am a Chef as well, and very fussy about real from scratch food and this was not that chain resturant frozen food crap!! Only one neg was water served was just tap water so just order bottle beverage. Everything waste perfect, and I would drive 1 hour to go agian!!

Best authentic mexican. I love the mexican bruschetta appetizer it's mouthwatering good! I always go for the chicken fajitas because I am boring and always go with the tried and true! really really good mexican!

It was really good! Only went there because my friends wanted to, the place looks kind of sketchy from the outside but it was really good and will go back to have more of their chimichunga!

My choice for mexican food in Durham. I've been here 4 times so far. Fresh, home made tortilla chips while you wait for your order to be taken and have your food made. Sorry I can't offer to many suggestions from their menu...I always have the Steak and Chicken fajitas....and am never disappointed. Unfortunately there aren't too many Mexican restaurants in Durham region or the GTA for that matter....definitely the place I would prefer to go when I get a craving for Mexican food.

Camarones Tampiquenos. This is shrimps in a spicy green tomatillo sauce with cactus. The shrimps are fresh and the sauce was delicious. It had plenty of tomatillos and, therefore, more on the sour than the spicy side. But then this is my own opinion. I am used to very spicy dishes and this was less than medium.<br/>However, on the whole, it is a great dish.<br/><br/><br/>-----24 Jul, 2011-----<br/><br/>Great Restaurant. I have been twice to Mexico Lindo -- once to the Ajax branch and then once to Whitby branch.<br/>The food is decent and for those who love a sour bite, their dishes with tomatillos are great.<br/>At the Ajax branch, the service personnel gave me their 'real' spicy sauce. It was great.

Chicken Chorizo Fajitas for two! Best I've ever had! Go get some now!

"¡Delicioso!". Just as good as the Ajax restaurant (http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/10/1492440/restaurant/Toronto/Mexico-Lindo-Ajax). The food was fresh, served promptly and was delicious. A bonus for me was that they had their own amber beer on tap. It was a good complement to the dinner. It was a really hot day when I was there and the restaurant was on the warm side. I think that just added to the authenticity of the experience.

Authentic!. You can't get more authentic than this place, from the food to the decor it is 100% mexican. The acapolco combo is my favorite

Authentic Mexican. One bite of this Mexico Lindo's dishes are you going to think you were thousands of miles south. This place doesn't look like much from the outside but don't let that fool you. Inside it is tastefully decorated and the food is absolutely fantastic... nothing better than homemade guacamole and chips, as well as their enchiladas. Check it out... you be thankful you did.

It was a good and filling meal but I was disappointed after hearing about the authenticity. I could have had the fajitas at any restaurant that would have tasted similar. It was also pretty pricey after everything added up, not great value for your money. I would give it a second shot though and try anything with the rice, it looked promising.
