This is not your trendy upscale sushi restaurant but I always go back, from the dozens of times I can say their sushi is much more fresher than the majority of places in Montreal.
They don’t try hiding their fish in all kind of concocted sauces because it’s not fresh, this is your traditional sushi place with good value, for take out its a fantastic option and quiet laidback dining it’s works great too.
Sincerely not much to complain if your priorities are good sushi.
After years of hearing good reviews, we finally made it to Greene corner Ste-Catherine after bixi'ing on a gorgeous sunday at sunset. we decidedly ordered sashimi and appetizers for take out and enjoyed it on a warm evening.
a few high notes: 1. while waiting for out order, we were served warm tea and edamame. being distracted lessened the time of wait. 2. fried oysters and beef sashimi - must order! 3. yellowtail was fresh and that always puts a smile on my tummy. 4. all the necessities for a take out order were included in the 2 plastic bags. along with a complimentary serving of edamame packaged in a box with a cute thank you note.
quality ingredients and dedicated service. nothing else should matter.
Great for take out or to dine in at lunch- better bet thank Kaizen. Solid sushi and sashimi but there is next to no atmosphere in the dinning room in the evening.
Best sushi in mtl. This is not a trendy fancy place. It's clean and simple just like the food. The quality of fish is amazing. I love this hidden gem.
Straightforward japanese food. You do not go here to be at a sushi place where there's jaaz/house music, fancy rolls and fancy cocktails. You go here if you want clean and fresh sushi and sashimi and enjoy traditional japanese appetizers.
My favorites are the Salmon, red tuna and yellow tail sashimi.
On the menu, beef tataki, fried oysters and grilled yellow tail neck is great.
If you want a quiet place with attentive service, this is the place to go.
Very tasty. If you are used to Americanized fusion style sushi, then you won't like them too much. But if you know what Japanese food is really like, then this is as good as you can get in Montreal.
Best sushi in Montreal. The best sushi restaurant in Montreal! I just came back from Japan and the food at Kashima's is just like what I had in Japan. Nazukashi!!!! Definitely try the Sushi Pizza 3. Have a sweet tooth? Go for the fried banana- you won't regret it! Prices are also quite reasonable. Once you try this restaurant, you won't want to go anywhere else!
