Review Princess House - West Kelowna

I ordered two meals to go and the food was really good. What I appreciated, it wasn’t full of sodium. I live in Fintry, and by the time I got home there was still steam coming from the food. They use a microwaveable container and it definitely, retains the heat.

Picked up dinner for one today as I have done many times before . This time they charged me an extra 2 dollars to change chow mein for fried rice and the food was terrible . They have really gone down hill in a hurry will never go back probably will be sick tomorrow shouldn't even have eaten any of.it .

We received our order tonight, cold, old tasting and basically inedible. The Sweet and sour pork that wasnt pork at all, just breaded fat chunks, horrible. Same with the beef in the chop suey, no beef, literally fat chunks. After having about 3 bites to eat, in to the garbage it went. We called the restaurant back to let them know and basically got treated like dirt for even bothering to complain, never mind asking for our money back. Horrible food, horrible customer service and its restaurants like Princess house that give a bad name.

Y'all overreacting. This place is not terrible. Food was hot and good. We got left overs for days. Relax.

Not good. All items were over cooked. Ginger beef not crispy and tasted like hot sauce rather then a chilli flake, sweet and sour pork tasted like it was out of a box. The fortune cookies were good

Some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The fried rice and chow mein were flavourless, the sweet and sour pork was so mushy it was almost inedible, and the contents of the spring rolls were mushy as well, though the wrappers were crisp. The beef/vegetables, though bland, were the only part of the meal with any flavour at all. How much can seasoning cost? I'll try to salvage the rice and noodles with some seasonings at home, but a lot of this will end up in the garbage.

** look at the dates of reviews cause things have changed since summer 2021 Our family has been going to this place for over a decade, dining IN then ordering takeout now, like we must do nowadays since the restaurant is still not open for dine IN like many others are in July 2021. Food was good and hot within 25 min of ordering...BUT the takeout containers are now SMALLER and not foil ones anymore, now shallower plastic. I was not told the total cost when ordering, like normally are told and was taken by surprise with the $7 increase in price($53.95 to $60.95) for the dinner for 4 when paying, so make sure to ask food cost before you PICKUP here. **NEW MENU July 2021, all prices up $1/item or more, with the elimination of 10% discount on pick up orders/credit purchases; this discount ONLY applies for CASH/PICKUP orders over $40 before tax. Website clearly states pickup orders get the discount and NOT cash only!. Several people picking up food paying with cash were caught off guard by this with not enough cash on hand. The increase in price and not informing at order time is conveniently omitted, shameful and sleazy on the *owners behalf, and leads us to possibly consider ordering using Mei Wei, GOLDEN Chopsticks,WOK Inn 3 Royal Wok next time for Chinese Food in West Kelowna where cash 10%/credit 5% discounts apply there. * NEW ownership here perhaps or just being GREEDY? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We ordered the chicken fried rice, ginger beef and sesame chicken for take out, after having read the reviews on this place, and I have to say we were very disappointed with with the ginger beef and sesame chicken, the breading was so soaked in the sauces, for the ginger beef and sesame chicken, making them so soggy, and all stuck together as one whole soggy undercooked mess. After having spoken with the person who took the call to let them know, lashed out calling me “liar”and that “our food is always good” . Go ahead, If you love under seasoned undercooked, very low quality food, this is the place for you.

Decent Chinese, but really greasy. Expensive. Errors often made, and they'll fix it, but never, ever offer a discount or freebie. Dining room faded and dirty; I only get take-out. Best Chinese I can find, sadly.

We have been ordering from Princess house for years, however this will be changing! Our most recent experience was nothing like before, the spring rolls and fried food was burnt and dried out. Our entire family was up all night with indigestion and upset stomachs. When we called they told us to bring back our food, this was the next day. Since we had thrown out the food they said there was nothing they could do. The experience had ruined our dinner, (also two family members birthday dinners) as well as their reputation. Our favourite family Chinese food place will no longer have our business.

Used to love this place, however the buffet quality has dwindled severely in the last year. After two bad experiences early this year, decided to give them one last chance.

Sat down and waited almost 10 mins before being acknowledged by a 10 year old server, who was doing the best he could.

Buffet wasn't well stocked even though there were quite a few people there. Deep fried prawns were not deveined, and some food tasted stale.

After our meal, waited nearly 20 mins with stacked plates before I had to (not so politely) ask for the bill from the young female server who had walked past us for the past 15 mins.

Don't bother. The delivery and take out might be OK, but skip the buffet.

Won't be back.

We have been ordering from this place for a loooooong time! And we'll continue to do so. I've never experienced bad service, but we always get delivery which has always been spot on. Earlier than estimated delivery time etc. Not much to choose from on this side of the lake, but I've eaten in at quite a few over there and honestly this food is way better.

Inedible. That one word sums it up. The entire meal was inedible!

We usually order from a different place but it was closed and we had unexpected company drop by and nothing in the house so we gave this place a shot.

Although the delivery time was reasonable, the food was horrendous. Everything was greasy and slimy and tasted awful. There was little differentiation in flavor from one dish to another (of which we ordered several). It was incredibly disappointing that not one single thing we ordered was salvagable.

This meal could not be eaten by anyone in our house past 2 or 3 bites. We ended up trashing it all and ordering a pizza (which was excellent BTW)

Ordering from this place was a colossal waste of money.

It's 4:30am, I feel like i'm dying. Quality has been going downhill for the past few years. I will NOT be coming back.

As a dad on a serious budget and a baby who needs food that isn't great or fattening the princess house is a great place to go. It's small but very cozy and the people are very nice baby or not. So if your on the west bank highway and are hungry please consider stopping by and trying out this little gem on the road.

It's a keeper.. We ordered the dinner for three and it was enough for four. (That's always a good thing!) The beef & greens were rich with garlic and one of the best orders I've had in a while. The deluxe fried rice was exactly as advertised, full of shrimp, pork and chicken. The pricing and the spring rolls will keep me coming back.

Great food. Like any Buffet the food is always best at the begginning of the evening, but anything made to order is always fantastic. I love this place and think the quality is good. Never fatty meat. This is definitely my favorite chinese food in all of westside / kelowna

Go Down the Street.... As of this date, it's recently come under new ownership. Quality has seriously gone downhill.
