Review The Tandoori - Waterloo

Excellent price for the Indian food that they serve. Their Rabdi falooda kulfi is just awesome. the quality of the sweets can be made a little better. But new place so I will not complain much.

One of the newest Indian restaurants in town. Amazing food that actually caters to Indian/South Asian taste buds and unbeatable prices. It's a small/cozy restaurant (not those fine dining experiences) and the owners are very accommodating of individual preferences. Go with reasonable expectations and you'll be delighted.

Since it's opening, i have been there at least 6 times and have noticed the quality of food and level of service has been diminishing rapidly. It started of with good food and impeccable service, curries were quite flavorful and prices more reasonable. But those experiences were short lived; more recently we ordered 2 thalis and noticed all the options had a very similar flavour profile. Hopefully they'll get their act together soon!

The restaurant has good quality of food and the cashier and the all staff members are very co-operative. They provide a lot of dishes such as samosa chana and different types of thali. The tandoori chicken and butter chicken are one of the favourite dish of this restaurant. I love the service of this restaurant.

Food is decent, nothing too great. Ambiance is really bad. But their service is really good and the owners friendly and knows how to treat customers well. But again we go there to eat the food not to make friends with the owner. I’ll give them another try and I’d like their food quality to improve as this could be a really good restaurant. Their naan is really good though 👌🏼

I sometimes bring snacks from here to work and my coworkers love it! Last time I got two dozen FRESH samosas and Indian sweets during Christmas time and even though it was packed, they had them ready within minutes, they gave me the sauces and bag and everything. Coworkers loved it plus it’s cheaper then going to 2 dozen doughnuts from Tim’s.

If I could give this place less than one star I would. I don’t know where to even begin. I ordered from this restaurant on two different occasions, once through skipthedishes and the other through doordash. The first time I ordered 2 veggie thali’s on the app and it let me pick what curries I wanted and I proceeded to choose a paneer one, kadhi and malai kofta. Upon pick-up from the restaurant the staff greeted me and handed me the food, however forgot one bag until I reminded them. I arrive home and open up the thali and am shocked at what I see next. All three curries I had ordered were completely different than what I selected. At first I thought it was a mixup and I called the restaurant to ask what had happened. The worker told me that they actually don’t follow the selections and just give you the 3 curries of the day, which they decide. I was confused at this and thought it must of been some joke. The curries they also gave me where ones my mom makes at home on a regular, there were two daals (which were very similar to another) and then one mixed vegetable one that was clearly made from frozen vegetables. I asked to speak with the manager and before I even said anything he began to yell and said I have no idea what I am talking about and all restaurants do this. I was shocked because out of maybe 100 different indian restaurants I have ate it I have never heard of that. They let you select what you want. Or even if they wanted to do that they could have wrote unavailable on skipthedishes or informed me upon pickup. Long story short the owner gets on the phone and yells at me, calls me stupid and to come meet him in person right now and he will close the restaurant and take me on a drive to prove him wrong that another indian restaurant does that (one easy one was tandoori express on university, they have several available and they taste delicious) On top of all this I paid full price and the food was inedible and tasted as it had no flavour. I gave this place a second chance and ordered on doordash and ordered a tandoori roti and chicken tikka. The chicken tikka arrives in a puddle (at least 150mL) of juices/liquid. It was not dry, which it is supposed to be, it was also overcooked, tasted frozen and was bland. The tandoori roti was completely hard and just broke like a cracker, when in fact its supposed to be light and easy to pull apart like a flatbread. Again for the second time the food went to the garbage. Overall, this establishment needs to be shutdown due to rude customer service, mediocre food and inability to meet food quality standard. Avoid this place like the plague.

I went here last week and i order for channa bhatura as well as butter naan with thali amd samosas. They took too much time to complete the order and the quality of water was not good. The quality of channa was also very bad as comapre to other indian restaurants. Finally, i m not satisfied with that restaurant and food of that restaurant.
