Review Mccabe’s Irish Pub - Waterloo

So mediocre for the price. The service was fairly slow and slightly odd in that we went through 3 servers throughout the night. However, I did enjoy the live music that began at 8pm. I got the mac and cheese while my friends got the McCabe's burger and the chicken carbonara. The burger was decent, but the pasta dishes have such small portions and is not worth the overall cost (around $30 including tip). They also came with a sad piece of garlic bread that was hard as rocks. I didn't take pictures but I also ordered the cosmopolitan as a drink and it was mostly half melted ice with barely any alcohol.

Cozy. Tasty. Nice background music (not too loud). Good selection of beers. Welcoming and timely service. Canadian burger could be a bit more juice. Felt dry. Maybe just not in my taste :) Also, it would be nice if there was an option for self-payment (QR code at the table for unattended online payment).

Burger tasted burnt, bland, and very salty. Wrap was mostly tomatoes, and came out with wrong sauce. Fries were slightly under cooked/held a lot of oil. Live music was good

Absolutely terrible quality of food. Chicken wings taste like chlorine, sitting in oil, vegetables were rotten & Antojitos completely dried out and paper thin. All food ordered was inedible.

The atmosphere and building was really nice sitting by the window and having the view of Waterloo Sq. Canadian Burger: -Burger kinda dry -Could use some sort of aioli on top -Bun could be warmer/toasted Swiss Burger: -Better than the Canadian -A bit more juicy with the cheese and moisture from the mushroom Overall, the food was satisfactory. Nothing over the top. Wouldn't get the burger if it weren't for the 1/2 off Tuesday deal.

Exactly what you'd expect from an Irish pub. Nice European touch with the furnishings. GREAT BEER!!! Convenient location next to a lot of parking and the service was on point. Will be frequenting this pub.

Im blown away by the absolutely top shelf lunch I had here. Definitely not your average pub fair. This was 5 star restaurant quality steak cooked to perfection paired with crispy fresh fries. The server was sweet and greated me as I walked in. Joked with us and was knowledgeable about what drafts they carry.

A staple pub in uptown Waterloo. Great food and great service. I visit on a weekly basis. I love 1/2 burgers on Tuesday! Also so many restaurants going to frozen French fries...I love your fries! Please keep them fresh.
