Review The Daily Grill - Waterloo

Good food and decor with fair prices. Service was ok. Has a pub feel. Not really COVID safe. Two guys (I think one was the owner/manager) walking around with no mask. Don't know if I would go back with the other choices in the area.

Very satisfied with the service. The server were welcoming, fast and polite. The food came out fast and hot. I ordered the Reuben sandwich and apple pie which was delicious. The sauerkraut was really good and the meat was thick and flavourful. Regarding the Apple pie, it one of the best Apple pies I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The crust to Apple ratio was fantastic, I had an Apple each time I had a bite. Highly recommend trying the Reuben sandwich and Apple pie. The atmosphere was updated to a modern look but still has the charm of a diner. The floors, booths and tables were also clean and free of crumbs and dirt.

I'm not sure you can tell from the exterior how much of a gem this place is. Food is delicious, inside is nice and clean and the staff are great. We will definitely be back!

Overall a disappointment. These are not home fries. They are deep fried potato slices. Not appetizing and we didn't eat them. The eggs Benedict was very basic for $13.99 with no presentation. Had to pay additional. 75 for peameal bacon on it instead of ham. Basic egg breakfast included the awful deep fried potatoes. Eggs were cooked well on both plates. Smokey bacon very greasy and not cooked long enough. Hubby said coffee was pretty good. Would not recommend.

This has to be the funniest thing. I ordered food not knowing how much it was going to be because it doesn’t say how many pancakes is in the order so I thought it’d be a piece or two and a bit of eggs a sausage or two (I guess I didn’t read properly lol) This girl walked in with two containers I shared my food but good price for a large amount! It tasted alright, I was a fan of the pancakes and the food was a little greasy but otherwise good !

Friendly staff. Average food, at least for breakfast. I assume they use small eggs (Angel's does too) as it is noticeable. Toast was buttered evenly and home fries were crisp and cooked thoroughly. There are better values around, but if you live nearby it's more than decent!

Stopped in for some Breakfast with my Buddy after work. It was great nice clean restaurant friendly staff and quick service. I just had the Breakfast Classic. But they have lots of choices all at reasonable prices.

great greek salad!

The owner is horrible to his staff in front of customers which makes for a very awkward meal. The food was served cold and had no taste. Will not be coming back.

I've only been for breakfast, which is outrageously priced (unless you get one of the specials). $12.99 for a regular sized omlet? You're better off going to Cora's. My fiancée and I both had omelets with some cheese added into mine and he had breakfast sausage on the side. Our total came to $50!

Went for breakfast. Food was good but took 35 minutes. Wat too long for bacon and eggs.

Overrated and Expensive. The Daily Grill has a menu with a wide variety of choices.
I find that their prices are expensive for what you get. I don't find their meals to be anything special or to have large portion sizes. Their pork souvlaki dinner is OK at best but, very expensive for the amount of food you get. The portion of meat is very small. The rice never has any flavour. The salad is just a garden salad with red and green peppers with some Greek dressing and minimal feta cheese and some pita like bread - which is really good. The waitresses are friendly but not attentive. They have a nice breakfast but you can't really go wrong with a traditional breakfast. Sometimes it seems to take awhile to come.

We have stopped eating at Daily Grill as the food isn't so great and its expensive for what you get.

Standard diner fare, great atmosphere. I've been to this restaurant quite often in the past six months, mostly for dinner. Located at the northern edge of the City of Waterloo near the malls, The Daily Grill caters nonetheless to a mixed urban and rural clientele. The menu is the usual combination of traditional diner dishes (club sandwiches, hot hamburger plate, meat loaf) and more urban dishes (the omnipresent wraps). On my last visit, I had once again the hot hamburger sandwich. It's definitely my favourite. The brown gravy is really perfect. Service is good, not excellent. Nice, friendly atmosphere, with the owner-manager circulating among customers. This restaurant aims to be more than a breakfast joint, so prices are a bit high, I think. Still a safe bet if you are in Waterloo.
