Review Aunty's Kitchen - Waterloo

I ordered a biriani family platter for my birthday party. The biriani was wet with a lot of moisture in the rice. In turn, it had gone bad by the time we ate at 5.30pm after picking up at 4.30. It was my birthday and this was a family dinner. Everyone ate reluctantly not to ruin the party. It was horrible. I hope they don't get food poisoning. I also hope you don't do this to your customers who spend a lot of money. I used to love your food but seems like you don't really care anymore about your customers. Don't sell people old rotten food and take their money. I'm attaching photos. Unfortunately I can't attach the stench.

Aunty's Kitchen is such a treat! I ordered from them from delivery through uber eats where they have a fantastic promotion going on! If you spend 12 dollars you can get some extra food, or some sick socks like mine in the photo! Not only was the food absolutely delicious and the portion sizes huge, but the staff also sent me to cutest little note!! Highly highly recommend!

Best food ever. Made with such care and love and the best part is they always give a nice note with every order and it really makes me feel good and i always read the whole note. Food is very tasty and great flavour. I have been in Canada for 3 years and from day 1 i am trying their food. Excellent service overall and staff is super friendly and i am surprised they remember my name. Best of luck guys.

I went to buy their cookies in person twice. It cost $15 for 6 cookies. And I specifically asked for red velvet cheesecake cookies. Both times I was given M&Ms and chocolate chip. How can you not give a customer the right order after they spend $15 on 6 cookies.

Economical and comes with a small and large option for almost everything when it comes to main course. Can do a bit better in terms of taste of butter chicken but believe me their Chicken Shawarma Rice is amazing and a must taste. The service is good, you in fact get an SMS on your phone once your order is ready. So you can order and go for a walk on the nearby Laurel trail and return when it's ready.

I don’t what they changed with their Chicken Biryani. Used to be really good .. I ordered there many times before. Picked up Biryani yesterday and it tastes horrible. The flavour is not the same and the rice is undercooked and hard. It does slide off well from the plate into the garbage. Won’t be going here again.

I recently bought Tandoori Chicken Biriyani from Aunty’s Kitchen. The food was really mind-blowing and the presentation was top-class. I would like to give a special shout-out to the lady who served me. I came there around 8pm today. I believe her name is Mariam. She was really nice and quick and i am really satisfied with the service that i got from the restaurant.

This place is good at times and not good at times. The food sometimes tastes so good that I come again another day to order the same and get so upset with the taste changing a lot. 'Consistency!' Is the word which this restaurant lacks. All the dishes in the menu and great, nice fusion and can also be prepared in a very good way if maintained to make it great

My regular joint on weekdays most of the time. I enjoyed their biryani, chapli kebab and shwarma. Not too costly with good quantity of food.

The butter chicken is edible but by no means amazing. Auntys uses whole spices that are left in their sauces and rice and are bothersome to pick out and not a great experience to bite on. What kills me is that there are so many visible spices but the butter chicken isn't all that flavourful. Fries are slapped on top of the sauce and become spice. I like the rice and the naan....

Great place to get South Asian food with big portions. I visit this place pretty often and there were only a few things I didn't like.

Pros:
- food always fresh and you can see how they make it
- relatively big portions
- naan is quite delicious and handmade
- western favourites such as shawarma and butter chicken are on point and would definitely recommend.
- free drink refills if you dine in
- recent dining space expansion, more comfy dealing with big television screen

Cons:
- lineups are usually pretty long and can take 5-15 minutes
- the price is kind of expensive after tax and could be cheaper
- tandoori chicken was flavourless and dry
- masala fries could be crispier
- not enough salad dressing for half a plate of salad
- occasionally messes up orders

Had the special, Tue Aluu Keema for lunch. Food, cleanliness and visual entertainment on point. The place isn't too rowdy so it's a great atmosphere.

Had a fusion, the combo. It's really good and filling. I also like chicken karahi. It's spicy and yummy.

Worst shawarma I have ever had in my life. It was not only small but it fell apart while unwrapping it. The person did not ask me what I wanted in my shawarma and put cilantro in it. Yuck! Then the manager was not only rude but looked sloppy.

Delicious Indian food for fantastic prices!. Just returned from my second visit to Aunty's Kitchen. Each time I have been very pleased with the value; the prices are phenomenal, and the servings are ample. We bought enough food for our supper, and lunch the next day (for two), for less than $30. If you are feeding a crowd, you should absolutely get the 6 dishes for $35. I've never seen such a good deal for such high quality food.
Definitely try the Chicken Biriyani, it was a real standout. The potato curry and the daal are also worthy of consideration. The vegetable curry was so-so.
The atmosphere is rather plain, but the guys running this place are very friendly.
Bottom line: If you like Indian food (and maybe even if you don't) you should definitely go to Aunty's Kitchen.

A good place for inexpensive Indian/Pakistani food. I had the mixed vegetable curry and naan which was quite good. My only comment is that the naan I got really didn't seem like naan, it was a bit thicker and looked like it was cooked in a regular oven. I'll probably try it again to taste their other dishes.
