Review Morty's - Waterloo

Marcus K
Have always loved the wings. They are expensive but worth the price in my opinion. Got some again on Sunday for the big game and this time with an order of nachos as well. The wings were great as usual but the nachos left a lot to be desired. What I received was a single layer of maybe 20 chips and a sparse amount of cheese. I realize what day it was and that they may have been running out of food but at that point I’d rather they just say they couldn’t do it and refund the money than send me home with this.

I wanted wings and my boyfriend introduced me to Morty’s because they are known for their wings. I have never seen or had wings as big as they have here. We ordered mozzarella sticks (which I didn’t get a picture of because we were so hungry we devoured them and I wish they had more for the price, 6 for 13.99), medium order of wings (12) half sweet Thai chilli and half BBQ! They were SO big, tender, meaty and absolutely delicious! I love that they were drenched in sauce, it made the wings just so much more flavourful. I also ordered a Mai tai cocktail! Service was amazing and staff were so friendly. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning for more chicken wings!!!

This place has amazing wings. The vibe is really nice, the staff was really friendly and the food was amazing. My favourite flavour for wings were the Thai Sweet Chilli and Wet Cajun, and these wings were really big and perfectly breaded. The cheesy garlic bread was also amazing.

Finally giving Morty’s a try after hearing such good things about their wings. They sure live up to their hype! Think I’ve found my new wings spot, will for sure have to dine-in sometime 😁. Staff were friendly when I was picking up my order.

Fantastic wings!!!! This has to be one of the top 3 best spots in the tri city for chicken wings. They are nice and crispy, jumbo size, saucy, meaty wings! Pair it with the dill dipping sauce and you will be back the next day. We ordered the 18 wing combo which was perfect for the both of us.

The best chicken wings in GTA and KW. I had a date with my 6yo daughter for valentines and we enjoy so much. People were really friendly and food excellent. We had the chance to watch the Winter Olympics and talk about how good is. Añada una Curling 🥌. It was a great day and a good place to remember a good date dad-daughter

People say that Moose Winooski or Milton's (you'll never see me in that place again) have the best wings - but my vote still continues to go with Morty's. Big. Tasty. Crunchy. I've never been disappointed. Other reviews state that the prices are high but I've found that everywhere prices are up. Even if $0.25 wing nights never come back I'll still go to Morty's for mine.

Morty's is perfect. Whether you need to entertain a group of U13 hockey players and their families or, like today, thank your brother and his partner for driving 2 hrs to come help you clean up your yard after a massive storm, Morty's has the perfect food and the perfect service. After hours in the yard chopping up branches and taking down partially fallen branches, take out wings and Caesar salad and deep fried pickles and all the other treats we ordered made all our aches go away and took us to our happy place. In the 5 years since I began going to Morty's, they have never failed to be perfect!

I had supper this evening at Morty's Pub.

It was a busy spot!

Their draft selection is lame so I went with Keith's in a bottle.

They are apparently known for their wings so I ordered a small order with medium sauce. There were only six wings for $14 (so not cheap) but they were big wings. The sauce was good ... there was a bit of sweetness. The breading wasn't too heavy.

Love their chicken wings. They wing night twice a week. Other than that, great services. The food is little bit overpriced on a normal night.

Best wings in town! Try the dry cajun with a side of butter hot sauce, the best! Their burgers and pizza are also great. Staff are always attentive. The go-to spot for any sporting event.

I went here last night with two friends. We were there to attend a back country outdoors club meeting. The meeting was downstairs later but we decided to eat in the restaurant before the meeting.

Atmosphere- When you walk in you almost get the feel of a franchise type place. It is very large with 3 separate areas ( 5 if you count party room in basement and patio in summer) The front has a few stools and tables around a few screens with sports on them all. The second area contains a long bar and tables to the side. (This is where a band played later ( Tuesday nights) , and the third part in the back has a row of booths ( I prefer to eat in a booth) and tables. Tonight there was a large crowd. I guess because of the band playing later.

Food-The meals that my table had this evening were- 1) Cobb salad- Not your ordinary Cobb salad. This one when presented to the table looked like a work of art with layer of so many different colours. It included chick peas, roasted red peppers and pecan and cranberries to name a few rows.. My friend said it tasted great. 2) Wings with hot sauce - This place is known for the good wings and my friend did not disagree with their reputation. She offered for me to try one, however, I am more of a mild to medium kind of girl. 3) Greek salad- It was just ok. Kind of your run of the mill variety salad. I noticed the olives were sliced instead of full olives. 4) I had the deluxe burger. this was a single patty burger with bacon, mushrooms, cheese and fried onions This was on a large pretzel type bun.. With all the extra toppings I would have preferred to have a smaller patty. For people who love those burgers that you have to really stretch your mouth wide to eat it then this one is for you. I loved the flavour of the meat. Perfectly spiced. 5) sweet potato fries- they were a disappointment. They were the same type I would have made myself from frozen. i was not impressed. The dip that accompanied them was very good with just the right zing in it for me. It would have been better with quality fries.

Service- Our waitress was very pleasant. She did make a few mistakes on our bills and she missed bringing a dish that was ordered but it still appeared on the bill. She quickly fixed the numbers . I would not hold these minor infractions against her at all. Everyone makes mistakes. We were also served quickly. After being served we proceeded to enjoy our meal so much we were late for our meeting in the basement. By the way- If you live in the area and like camping this group that we just met tonight sounds fantastic. It is called the KW Backcountry travel meetup.

Impression- I am from Hamilton and I would not travel here again just for the food but if I lived in the area this would be a go to place for me for sure. I will be back many times for the meetings because this group has gotten me excited about many trips I want to take next year. I will also add more pictures when I do.

Bad choices in cider and bland food. Definitely a university bar.

Nice pub. Went there for a light lunch. It wasn't spectacular but it was a bar I could come back to. Nice server, very friendly and attentive. Beer was cold, which was good, and the food was fast coming to our table. Will be back when in the area

Buttery Hot and Wet Cajun. Best wings in Waterloo

There are a few reasons I won't be returning.

1. No debit machine. Only cash or credit. Come on what year is it? Comes off as looking cheap.

2. Veggies don't come with wings. Come on. You pay $17 for 12 wings and you don't even get a few sticks of carrots? Very cheap.

3. Retro 80s music blasts through the stereo.

4. While the wings are indeed big, they appear to be unnaturally big. Read "steroids". Not appetizing.

Best wings in town!. When you've lived in Waterloo, you know Morty's pub!
They have easily the best wings, thier jumbo sizes and juicy flavours. The dry cajun is particular good. The service is always pleasant and quick.
We once had a private booking in thier downstairs lounge, it was well catered and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
For great wings and good times go to Mortys!

First time at Morty's and it was pretty good. Not gourmet food but the price is right for the quality and the staff puts this place in my good books.

My partner and I shared our favourite guilty pleasure, pickle spears (10 spears for $8.99). The breading was nice bs crispy and the dill dip that accompanied was the perfect match.

My dining partner had the club sandwich with poutine ($7.99) and I had the fish and chips ($11.99). Both dishes are what you'd expect from Canadian pub fare. Huge portions.

The staff was totally wonderful. Our waitress was new but was very attentive. As we left, each staff member smiled and wished us goodnight.

Will totally come back for pints and nachos on game night!

Terrible manager with little customer service skills. I will never return to morty's after dealing with such a terrible person. Food was over priced and gross
The Pub King
Best wings in town!. Never had a bad experience here, and when I bring my kids they are well looked after from the wait staff. The food is great and the wings speak for themselves. Staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is great. Will always return here! The dry cajun wings are amazing!

Terrible Manager with terrible customer service skills. Had absolutely the most disrespectful and rude manager deal with us at Morty's. As good as their wings or the atmosphere may be, I think customer service is extremely important when in the service business. I will NEVER be returning to Morty's after my terrible experience with them.

Place was good... Back then

Too many change. I love this place two years ago......

Great wings!

Good wings!!. Their wings are probably the best in the area, and much bigger than the ones at other places. Favourite flavour is the sweet chili Thai.

Great service! Best wings I ever had! Very yummy!

Morty's Pub. I have been coming to Morty's for over 10 years. It is hands down the best joint for wings in K-W if not Ontario. Once in a while I will try the pizza and burgers. They are homemade and very good as well. Be patient sometimes there is a lineup and the service is a little spotty. Great place highly recommended.

A few weeks ago we wanted to go see Maleficent but the theatre was closed due to a power outage. This left us wondering what to do, and I think it’s pretty obvious what we like to do, so off for food we went! It was fairly late at night, on a Tuesday, and the first few places we tried were not open. Luckily, as we headed home, we saw the bustling patio of Morty’s Pub and knew where we were stopping. After perusing the menus for a bit we both ended up wanting to try the baked panzerotties. Conveniently they turned out to be on special that night so they were half price! This was a pleasant surprise after our previous dissappointment, but I did find it a little curious that the waitress never mentioned the special until after we decided what to get, and we weren’t exactly quick about it either. I didn’t manage to snag a photo of the inside of my panzo, but I asked for pepperoni and lots of green pepper. I definitely got what I asked for, and have now learned that too much green pepper ma

My favorite wings in Waterloo, hands down! We got honey garlic and dry cajun (my boring, but delicious choice!) If you like super breaded wings, this is the place for you :)

Morty's is a popular Wings place for UW/WLU students. They have a Thursday Wings special and it's always completely packed. This time I went on a Sunday and they had a half pound Burger & Fries special. Only $3.50 with drink order - what a goo
