Firstly the ambience is gorgeous. Modern, streamlined and comfortable. Especially the outdoor patio with the wall fireplace and the ceiling heaters if the night gets chilly.
Milestones has revamped their menu and it is more flavourful and gourmet. Prices are reasonable
when you consider the beautiful ambience and the quality of food. And if cost is an issue, Milestones offers
specials throughout the week on food and drinks making their menu more affordable.
As per the wait staff, I find it's the same with all restaurants, either you get lucky with ones that are friendly and skilled or you don't. Don't let a bad waiter experience determine whether the restaurant itself is good or bad, because bad wait staff don't last long in the business. Chances are they won't be there the next time you visit.
The food here is quite good, but not very good value (dinner for two was about $50 without any appetizers or beverages).
We had the roasted mushroom gemelli pasta which was excellent (as long as you like truffle oil, which is very rich). We also had the spicy thai basil noodles, which was very flavorful and tasty. There was not that much shrimp in the dish, however.
If the prices were a bit cheaper we would come here again, but for what you get it is a bit expensive.
Delicious! A little pricier than where I usually eat but a nice change - food was good and service was amazing! The waiter and bartender recommended great food, drinks and dessert options while being super personable. Would go back.
Amazing! Been about 5 times now and have been nothing but impressed with the drinks, apps, steak, pasta, kids meals and desserts! Would go back again and again! Great experience. This is my personal endorsement of Milestones Restaurant on the Boardwalk in Waterloo. We went there for dinner Saturday after seeing Life of Pi. We started off with a very tasty roasted mushroom soup. I had a glass of beautiful smooth, velvety Merlot, one of the best I've ever had. Everything was fine until I ordered Cajun Shrimp. The waitress asked me if I wanted it hot and I said: "No, mild." When it came it was very hot, even Gary thought so. She took it back and the manager came and apologized and asked me if I would like some other sauce on it. I said yes and then the waitress returned to tell me that everyone in the kitchen had tried it and they also thought it was quite hot. They checked the spice bottle and found that it was full of cayenne, instead of Cajun spice. They both were very solicitous and made sure that I was satisfied. When we were just about finished, the manager came back and said that Amber, our waitress had a treat for us. Amber then returned and asked if we liked pumpkin, to which we both replied, yes. She returned shortly thereafter, with a delicious, decadent piece of pumpkin cheesecake for us to share, on the house. Then the manager returned with a gift card for $25.00. We still have another gift card for $50. Can't wait to go back. The food was fantastic, the setting very comfortable and the service excellent.
First visit today and was very impressed. Great ambiance, modern stylings with accommodations for a variety of patrons. Food was incredible from start to finish (chose the pick 4 option) especially the naan/spreads appetizer and butternut squash ravioli.
Great service. Dining area a bit too noisy for conversation.
