Parking is free for those dining at the restaurant. Amazing service and good entrees. Their take on a poke bowl wasn’t good and calamari was soggy and very chewy. Overall great dining atmosphere and would be going back myself.
The best meal I've had in a very long time. The customer service and professionalism were 10/10. The food was 10/10. I can't wait to go back!
Coming up to a dozen meals here now. Best dish is the fish and chips with a draught beer. Food generally reliably good but with several caveats. Always an interesting beer selection.
Many dishes come with an extra flourish of spice, herb or plated up with garnish, so people with allergies need to do full disclosure and quiz the server thoroughly before ordering. Not every allergen spice or treatment is listed on the menu.
Desserts are usually from the "Death By Chocolate" school of cooking; there's rarely a fruit tarte and certainly nothing is small. If you don't like chocolate, your choice is crème brulée.
Tea is terrible. Everything is by Tazo, who specialize in herbal tisane, not actual tea. Bring your own. Coffee is quite a good blend.
Communication between management, kitchen and servers is inconsistent about what's being served when. Table service is polite, helpful and cheery, if a little under-informed.
Atmosphere was great on first impression, although the lighting was dim where we were sat and then got dimmed even more (no candles to offset this). Menu was slightly limiting for dietary issues. My date had his choice of anything but for a vegan there was little to choose from. A salad for app and tofu ratatouille for dinner.
The salad was ok but under seasoned and the flavours fell flat after the first bite. Tofu ratatouille was mediocre. Ratatouille was luke warm, and the tofu wasn't seasoned at all.
Dessert was an even bigger let down. It was this apple tart on an oatmeal "crust" that was so hard and chewy it was almost inedible.
There is a misperception that vegetarians don't care about food/flavours but there are some of us that are just as big a foodie as omnivores, we just prefer to be meat free for one reason or another.
A nice restaurant with a fun atmosphere.
The staff were very friendly and attentive to our table. Service overall was fast from drinks, appetizers, mains and dessert.
The menu was unique centered around contemporary Canadian dishes. Overall everything tasted good, some dishes could have used a bit more seasoning or sauce to help elevate the dish.
Very nice, elegant, quiet restaurant in the hotel. Our partner booked a private room for 20+ people welcome dinner. The food is so good, salad, main dish, dessert, taste and decorations everything is perfect. There are a lot space for individuals, or few people gathering table. I like environment here. Will recommend to my friends if they visit Waterloo in the future.
Dined at Proof Kitchen & Lounge while my stay at The Delta hotel. Tried their Masala Street Snack for the Appetizer which was delicious and very different. I chose the drink ‘The Rose-coloured glasses’ which was from their Valentines special menu and it was decent; not a fan. Rest of the food was pretty impressive and the ambience is quite fancy. Would recommend trying this place if you are looking for something high-end.
This is probably one of the best burgers I’ve had. The truffle adds a smoky kick to the dish. The crispy onions add a crunchy layer of texture at every bite. Generous amount of of gooey Gouda so you know more cheese = better. Soft brioche bun. And as a nice addition, solid fries.
Their menu is on the pricier side. V friendly service.
Although the food was really ambitious and sometime a little unflavoured, the ambient atmosphere and amazing service made up for it! The drinks were really good! While I wouldn't go there on my own for the food, I would definitely go here for the drinks!
I got their mac and cheese and honestly this is what brought my review from 5/5 to 4/5. It didn't have too much flavour and I found that it was just a thin butter sauce with cheese curds mixed in. I would still go here, just not for this dish.
Loved the salmon and the Portuguese chicken sandwich. The flavor combination of each dish was unique and surprisingly delightful. The staff were all friendly, nice and helpful. Most certainly will come back, and definitely recommend this place.
