As far as DQ goes, this place is pretty standard. Quick service of fast food burgers, chicken strips, Blizzards and ice cream treats. Main reason for going here is convenience. Staff are always friendly and hard working.

Zero customer service skills from a few staff. I have been very patient with the staff I have interacted with, and of the few times I have visited only 2 women at the front have been good at customer service and 1 man who was a cook in the back who was polite enough to explain that something went wrong with my order. Other than that, I've been ignored when I've asked politely for some help, I have gotten an "uhdunno" when I asked if I could order and a point to the fridges without a word when I was looking for dilly bars but couldn't see them. Hillside location has much better service and the people are almost always smiling and are willing to explain things in a nice manner. The problem is how far it is for me, compared to the Fort Street location. If anyone can do something about this, please do so. I am tired of dealing with uninterested and rude employees here. Thanks.
Edit 2023: wow has this place changed, the manager puts his all into customer service, he is well organized and polite.

Let's face it, you're coming here for the ice cream. They've got all the frozen treats you'd expect. The shakes and cones are what I stop in for.
The service is always pretty quick here unless you have this misfortune of coming in behind a little league team or the like but that's not really the store's fault.
The kids working the counter are polite and the place usually is pretty clean.
It's a Dairy Queen and this one delivers consistently on reasonable expectations for such a place.

This is by far the best dairy Queen we have in Victoria. The workers here really care about how they act as they have been the best I have seen and they look like they are having fun. Food and ice cream has always been made perfect. I try to let them know each time we stop here how good they are. Keep up the good work

While at Dairy Queen this evening I witnessed the worst customer service ever. The girl with brown and green hair needs to be trained on how to treat and speak to customers. After a lady with her grandchild asked for an extra cone the girl raised her voice, and was very aggressive in her annoyance that this lady would even dare ask her for anything. She then slammed the till drawer and went into the back to complain about the customer loudly. I have worked in customer service my whole life and would never have spoken to a customer this way, no matter how busy or overwhelmed I was. She may want to rethink her employment choices if she can't handle a rush of people coming in at dinner time.

I urge the management at this location to open their eyes. Horrible!! customer service tonight September 29 at 6:45. Short version. I was left standing at the til as the clerk ran outside to smoke a joint with a friend. Another clerk came to the til asked what I wanted, I told him. I guess he didn't hear me and said to me "what do you want?" Then made my 2 PBPs incorrectly. There's way more to this dysfunctional story. Can't say I'll be going back anytime soon. Too bad

Horrible customer service. My family and I go to this Dairy Queen for dinner or ice cream it's always take out tonight I ordered 3 Beale came to 25.00 got all the way home and 2of the meals were beef when they we're suppose to be all chicken my family doesn't eat beef when I called the girl I talked to said she could give me the right burgers and a credit and was very rude while saying it anyways when I drove all the way there I had to wait 5 minutes maybe a bit. More for my burgers when the girl handed them too me I asked about the credit and they said it was one or the other so I went to all the hustle of driving all the way back when it was THERE mistake to not get anything to show there sorry HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Good food, not so good for you.. Everyone is familiar with DQ food and treats, but just remember, they're "treats." The (very tasty) oreo blizzard that I had (smallest size) had a whopping 630 calories! That includes 23 grams of fat and 75 grams of sugar. Most of their menu items are similarly loaded with all those bad things that make them taste good, so be careful.

Skor Blizzard. I know, I know. What foodie would be caught dead with a DQ treat? I will say that this location makes their blizzard on the soft side, but I won't fault them for that. Simply put, the mix is great. I only ever order one thing off the menu, but it is consistently good.
