It was a warm Monday night and we decided to stop at the Hyde. We took a table on the patio with our dog. The drinks were cold and refreshing. The mango habanero chicken wings were super yummy. The poutine was good. The service superb. Definitely coming back.
Food is surprisingly good. The Hyde signature burger normally comes with its own selection of sides, but I asked for a yam fries upgrade and was pleasantly surprised to see that they came out as crispy as McD's fries 👌!
As much as I hate admitting it, everyone knows that no one beats McDonald's in a game of fries. And if you're a fan of yam fries, you also know how hard it is to get a crisp portion at a corner burger joint. Well, these guys nailed it!
Burger was equally solid, but I was still feeling hungry, so I also ordered their Chicken Caesar wrap, this time with regular fries. The wrap was de-li-cious, but somehow those fries unexpectedly came out soft and soggy 🤔.
A little baffled how they messed up regular fries after that magical yam experience, but there ya go.
Admittedly, I'm a fries snob, but if it weren't for that second portion, I'd give them 5 stars.
Real talk: my top 3 burgers in town. This burger literally flies under the radar. Bit of pink, which is rare in Vancouver. Juicy, flavourful, and all the fixings you could ask for. Cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce L+T. You gotta do it.
Nice bartender and chill place to have some cheap wings. They also have different drinks specials depending on the day. Cool artwork.

Hyde surprised the heck out of me. I walked in, not knowing what to expect, only to be welcomed like a long lost friend. Owners and Staff were amazing...food phenomenal....and atmosphere pleasant. Very quickly found that they have a large "regular" base (I can see why) and they were also welcoming and gracious rather than protective of their "Place". Sincerely a Diamond among pebbles.

Cool dive bar atmosphere. The wings were not bad. Dive quality. 8 bucks a pound for.happy hour..you can't go wrong. The male bartender was doing an exceptional job for being alone and running the bar and tables. He was very punctual and took our plates away in record time. Hard job to work at but still provided exceptional service. Probably the best dive bar service we had in years. Good on ya pal. The beer selection is pretty unreal. Its definitely worth a look. Ive heard it has a great atmosphere late at night but we were there around 4pm. Cool.cute little.patio at the front. Unfortunately im leaving town in a couple days so can't attend a late night session. Keep up the good work. One of a kind that hyde on main! Beats out the main on main.

A pillar of Main Street, and one of the best watering holes in the neighborhood. From the great, attentive staff, to the friendly atmosphere, everything about Hyde is there to make you feel welcome, and keeps you wanting to come back.
They have good selection of drinks, and the recently revamped food menu is awesome (the Banh Miish sliders are a personal favorite), with a good amount of vegetarian options!
Went here with a group of friends for a Friday night out to grab some drinks and food. Perfect chill vibe and the owners are the best people you will ever meet. Definitely need to make yourself a regular!
This spot gives me How I Met Your Mother vibes. They have really cheap drinks and solid food choices (with a Wednesday wing night). Hyde is never too busy so it’s a great place to stop for a drink or two.
What a great spot, definitely my favorite in the area! Open and unassuming, the service is excellent and seriously great food. I expected standard pub fare but the chicken karagee was next level!

The Hyde literally serves the best burger I've had in Vancouver in a long time. And it was a deal at $14, whereas other places are taking the piss a bit and charging upward of $20?
The service is great, they really get to know their customers and by far the best deal on Main St.
I liked it mostly for its sound levels. As I age into my 40s, I'm finding I appreciate drinking establishments that don't blast music. This place was good for that, at least when I was there. Granted, there weren't many people at the time, but thankful nevertheless. We went around 5 on a Saturday. Check it out if you're on Main St. and want to enjoy a good conversation or catch up.
The narrow beer selection is saved by a surprisingly good and focused menu, amazingly personable service (with food perhaps delivered to an improvised tune), and some decent happy hour offerings that would entice me back soon.
The best bar on Main Street. Wonderful bar and has been for years. Good prices, good beers, good food. No mindless television screens on every wall, lovely tunes. Staff are friendly. Couldn't say a bad word about the place.
