I did not score the atmosphere as I had my dinner delivered by Skip the dishes. The food was delicious and the presentation very good even for delivery. Another time I will need to sit in the restaurant and enjoy the experience. The salmon. As tender and tasty, the shrimp tempura nice and light and crunchy. The spicy tuna roll had just enough heat. And the salad was fresh and crunchy.
Minipa
Another staple place for hangouts between friends. Hakone is a lowkey restaurant hidden in a mini-mall that is close to Coquitlam center. The service is quick, water is completely being refilled and the food is great for it's price.
I would definitely recommend bringing friends and family here :)

If you're looking for some good Japanese food at an affordable price, Hakone Sushi is a great option. They have a lot of Korean influence in their cuisine, so you can find some Korean dishes on the menu as well. The staff is friendly and the flavor and quality of the food is decent. Just be aware that they don't accept American Express.

Their salmon donburi bowl is huge and wholesome and filling. Generous seafood and vegetables and rice. Rolls taste great but portions can be a bit small.

I was here several times. Their food and service are great. You can have the best sushi over there with reasonable price. I love their dynamite roll and miso soup.

This is where you go to for good value sushi. The ingredients aren't top quality (ex. the unagi is clearly Chinese sourced unagi that just doesn't taste as good as the Japanese sourced unagi) but you get a lot for the price, especially so for the combo rolls. Service was subpar but I chalk it up to a bad day, or perhaps the server was still learning the ropes.

In search of a new sushi restaurant, my friend and I went to Hakone Sushi as it had a decent rating. The restaurant is inside a small building next to a few shops. Once I arrived, I remembered that this place was pretty famous for their spicy chirashi don. I had never tried it, and thought why not and ordered it. The food took quite a while to come out, probably because there's only one person doing the sushi and another doing the kitchen cooking. When my food arrived, I couldn't believe how big it was. I mean it was HUUUGE. Tasted decent too. The photo doesn't do justice. I struggled to finish the whole thing but damn it was good.

I love this place, I've been going here for five years every now and then and they always remember me no matter how long it's been since I've last gone. The food and service is great and the people working there are very friendly.

Solid customer service. I had some issues with uber and accidentally paid twice, they contacted me a few days later and resolved it.
Fish is fresh, and I highly recommend it. I suppose the only downside is that their menu for sushi is smaller than their dons and udons. Portions are also above average, and affordable.

There are multiple sushi restaurants in the area with similar quality and prices; this one has the mixed blessing of being stashed away in a local mall. Not great for foot traffic but that translates into fast service.

I ordered a yam and avocado roll / a deep fried California roll that was like 14 pieces 💯 / the spicy seafood udon / rice / miso and some nigiri all was fantastic and we will most defined try there again when we are in the Coquitlam area ! I would recommend eating in as they keep the environment happy and cozy like moms kitchen and nothing like the mall surrounding it
