The sandwiches are fantastic! It was nice and communal with the other guests in the space. Elizabeth was warm and accommodating. This is a one woman show and she's does great, but keep it in mind, don't come in in a rush or impatient.

Love love love the food, and chatting with the owner. The space is inviting and you can tell she loves what she does. Pea soup was 10/10 and our chicken sandwiches were delish!

Fluid “G.O” Mechanics

This is as close, clean, and healthy a sandwich as it gets to what your grandma will prepare for you. The owner hand picks the meats (chicken, turkey, ham) all fresh, and gets the best bread. Oven toasted, nothing comes close.... I went there twice, and will keep going back

I ordered pesto chicken sandwich as my lunch today. The service was fast, and the lady in the store was super friendly. The bread was crispy outside and soft inside, vegetables were crunchy and fresh, and the chicken was well seasoned. I love the decorations in the store, such a great and cute place to spend your morning time here.

I had cranberry chicken panini. It came with coleslaw, generous portion and very tasty. The owner brought food and coffee to the patio. Very friendly and good service. Bonus!! Dog friendly place. I can not wait to go back to this place.

Dagwoods not only serves tasty food and treats, but the coffee is always hot and fresh! The owner, Liz, is a fantastic host and treats every customer like family. She consistently goes above and beyond to put a smile on the face of everyone who walks through the door. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. This local café deserves your support.

Another hidden gem in Langford! It’s easy to pass by Dagwoods Cafe countless times at the corner of Goldstream and Veterans. But it’s a great place to stop for a sandwich and cuppa. There’s parking out front for bikes with locks courtesy of neighbouring Goldstream Bicycles and vehicle parking around the back. It’s a tiny space and a one-woman show. Got chatting to the owner, Elizabeth, and she’s been running Dagwoods for 3 years now. There was a line up of people getting their morning java and fresh breakie sandwiches when we stopped in. There are only about 4 tables inside and they were all full (there’s a patio out front). She managed to efficiently serve up all orders while smiling and chatting with the locals. She serves Stick in the Mud small batch coffee from Sooke (excellent choice), and all her sandwiches are made fresh to order. The Clubhouse was homestyle delicious made with local ingredients served with a side of good coleslaw. She also has a daily soup. The space is very small but cozy. Love the tie wire art display made by a local artist. I’m glad we finally stopped in at Dagwoods to check it out. Impressed. We will be back. Another great local spot to visit when in Langford!

When my partner and I moved into the neighbourhood, we thought the Dagwood Cafe was a great place to get a quick, cheap bite to eat. We both thought the paninis' were good, however just a little bit too much sauce on the bread. I stopped by recently and I was totally turned off and I won't be going back anytime soon. I got a panini to go and asked if a salad came with it. A few mins later the owner comes out with my sandwich and tells me she will not be "giving away" salad anymore as the sandwiches are already cheap and the boxes are so expensive. Fair enough I get it. I was also told the salad is only complimentary for people who eat in.. Even though it's the same price? I felt offended and to be so rude to a customer left a bad taste in my mouth. Ps: the sandwich had WAYY to much sauce and the salad tasted nasty.

New owners, still the same great food, service and atmosphere. We stopped there for a nice Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed. I had the pulled pork sandwich, house smoked for 15 hours. It was perfect, with creamy coleslaw on a toasted ciabatta bun, and the perfect amount of BBQ sauce. My partner had a chicken chipotle sandwich which was "fresh and delicious". The owner, Elizabeth was a great host and chef, her warmth was genuine as was her smile. We'll be back again.

Amazing Service. Such a mom and pop shop, you can tell they care -a lot! On top of a delicious lunch they gave my little hooligans candy canes (at Christmas time) and even replaced one after my little guy broke his and started crying :P My chicken chipotle sammy was amazing!

Awesome sandwiches!. Beautiful location and absolutely AWESOME sandwiches. The pesto turkey and smoked meat sandwiches are to die for, and it'll be a great place to sit outside during the summer. Agree that they need some chips or salad as a side though.

Addicted! :). I'll come right out and say it from the get go: I absolutely love Dagwoods. I live right across the street and love its quaint atmosphere. It's refreshing to have a modestly-priced and humble cafe in the area. For one thing, I am completely hooked on their sandwiches. They're large enough for a filling meal on their own (they offer delicious soup combos as well) and they're well-priced to boot! They are all made fresh-to-order and are outstanding. I've been coming in at least once a week to grab a chicken chipotle sandwich and a black cherry cola (which are also delicious!) Further, it's a great environment to come into as a student who's looking for a quiet, welcoming place in which to study (great internet access) and get a filling bite to eat. :) I recommend it to everybody if you're looking for a good and honest meal. The quality and freshness of the food and the friendliness of the staff shines brightly amongst the the many dull and mediocre fast-food joints in the area. Love it! :)

I live behind this cafe and was very excited to have a cafe so close. I love good coffee and this was so-so, weak latte, tasted like hot milk with a drop of coffee. Tried a med-roast drip coffee and it was pretty good but served in a soup bowl mug, awkward to carry from counter to cream area to table, nearly spilled. Might try food sometime but for a good cup of joe Ill go an extra block to Mirage.

Great sangys. Overall this is a fab addition to Langford! I really enjoyed the smoked meat sandwich. I too agree that a small side would be good (even a deli pickle) as it is a bit pricey. The rye bread was toasted perfectly with a decent amount of meat with sauerkraut and mustard. I also had a Caesar salad which was good but could have been better. They were generous with the cheese and I assume home made croutons but the dressing seemed store bought and generic. I had my order to go and really appreciated that the containers were environmentally friendly (as best as you can get at least). The menu is limited but I will go back to try almost everything on it! The staff was super friendly and fun which makes it a very enjoyable experience.

Excellent Food. It's so nice to be able to order a sandwich and not get deli meat. Fresh made meats on incredible made to order sandwiches, gourmet salads, homemade soups and lots of little goodies. I've brought my 3 year old with me each time I've gone and they are willing to accommodate her with a ham sandwich or a grilled cheese. It's soooo yummy...just writing this makes me want to go there!

Nice size sandwiches for the price but could use a side of kettle chips or slaw to go with it. Spoke with the owner about it and he seemed to agree. Place is a little pricey but they smoke all their own meats and each sandwich contains a generous amount. Place could really use some free Wi-Fi though. They are off to a good start.
