All I can say is wow. JagaSilk offers a unique and special experience. These local tea experts specialize in matcha and single-field teas. Anyone looking for a cafe or tea shop offering high quality products i recommend you come here. This is a great spot for locals looking for a great experience or shop, but also for any visitors as there are few tea sources or shops like this in the country. Great prices, unique experiences, and good friends. 10/10 all around.

A Magical place. Only open for service once a week on Friday afternoon. Don’t miss this special experience. Perfect tea- wonderful service- special atmosphere. . My favourite: matcha, but many other teas to choose from. Unique, special location also.

No doubt, Jagasilk is my favourite place for tea! I first heard of this place through Bright Jenny in Kelowna that offers their tea lattes but I decided to stop by their shop when I was visiting Victoria. They have the friendliest staff! So knowledgeable and so passionate about what they do! I was really glad to hear that a couple of Vancouver cafes also offer their products, I think they mentioned Small Victory, Kafka’s and Matchstick. They also offer tea service on Fridays, I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Victoria ❤️

A great place for some traditional Japanese tea. Definitely go with 15-30 minutes to sit down and give some tea a try. We got a flight of macha, all of them were delicious. They also had a small but excellent choice of tea.

As others have said, this is an unbelievable place to learn about and experience excellent teas straight from the growers. Jared is kind, knowledgeable, and invites you into his world without any snobbery.

We had a wonderful first visit to JagaSilk, where one of the owners Jared passionately shared a lot of knowledge with us, and patiently answered all of our questions. It was such a special experience, watching the maccha being milled in front of us, and learning about the growing and harvesting process. They have direct relationships with the farmers in Japan, and know the craftsmens that make the chasen (whisk) as well, which are free of pesticides and herbicides. They're only open for 4 hours for tea service on Fridays, and it's well worth it to visit then.

I was super hyped to visit Jagasilk again today! Jared is super knowledgeable about not only the tea itself but the entire process behind it. He's so passionate about it all and it shows in everything he makes. I can always appreciate someone who geeks out about one thing and shares it with others. Sitting down at the tea bar and watching Jared brew teas, make maccha and interact with customers was really fascinating. Tea is such a hands on thing and it was cool watching him educate while serving. Got 3 different types of maccha to share and an espresso+cortado, all of which tasted top notch. We came here a year ago and one of his staff (also named Jared) was really hospitable (served us even though the shop was closed for the day). Took his recommendation and got a maccha with steamed milk. I can't remember what one it was but I think it was higher end/ceremonial grade. Can't explain how amazing it was, like extremely nutty and rich tasting, completely different than any other maccha that I have had. Will be coming back every time we come to the island!

Always the best matcha and desserts in Victoria! Lovely patio and excellent Covid precautions. Great service and we always look forward to visiting. Everything served in compostable containers which we love!

Jared is incredibly knowledgeable and kind. What a wonderful experience! He generously spent the afternoon with us as we sampled all the items on their menu. If you're lucky enough to get the chance to visit their shop, do! Otherwise I'd highly suggest stocking up on their teas because they are unbeatable. You can find their teas and lattes at Wheelbase Cafe in the Cowichan Valley.
