Great place for Ramen. We found the place just walking around and stopped to try it. We were not disappointed as the Ramen broth was flavourful and delicious. Lots of choices without overwhelming. This is must visit for all to Victoria!

A must-try! Minimalist ambience. The creamy broth of the Menbow ramen has a roasted garlic flavor. The chicken karaage is the best in town.

I’ve been wanting to try this Ramen place for a while and I was pretty surprised with how many options they had! I ordered the Tantanmen and it was pretty good! I liked how there was bean sprouts and the iconic swirly fishcake and of course bok choy. The only thing I would say tho is I felt like the broth was a little too salty. But overall it’s a pretty good ramen. I also ordered the shrimp tempura, which was really yummy too! I would come back to try their Black Garlic Ramen.

A well-thought out ramen restaurant. Restaurant is clean and tidy with attentive waitresses. The menu shows a variety of ramen options such as pork, chicken, or clear (vegan?) broth base. There are ones without broth such as tantan, stirred, or rice available. There are also side dishes to compliment to the order or not. Miso pork broth ramen is delicious. The bowl comes with large cuts of BBQ pork, bamboo shoots, finely diced green onion, corn nibs, half of an marinated egg, nori sheet, Japanese seasoning, and a couple more. It isn’t salty. Overall there’s a lot going on with each bite a diner wont be bored of it. On to the didn’t meet expectation part. I may be off but I guess the noodle is generic noodle kind one could purchase from market. Not sure if this has anything to do with the food but I felt super thirsty about two hours after dinning. In general, this place is a nice option for downtown dining.

We are visiting Victoria from Washington and decided to go to try the ramen here. It was good. I ordered shio ramen it was good, not too salty but it's ok. ( I like salty and hard ramen noodles ). The taste is almost the same as ramen in Japan. Will come back when we visit Victoria again.

I cannot in words explain the pure, exquisite and amazing flavours I have just had the luxury to enjoy. I had ordered the “Menbow Black Ramen” with the delicious flavours of black garlic, BBQ pork, mushrooms and narutomaki. The broth is thick, rich, and earthy. The noodles were superb. The toppings perfectly cooked and seasoned. 10/10. I will be coming back. I will be referring people. Those people will be referring others. Menbow Ramen, you have yourselves a new regular. Amazingly well done.

I would say it's good. Nothing special but that is a good thing here. Food taste was just as I would expected. Same as my spot in the States. Affordable good tasting Ramen. Thank you!

It was absolutely an amazing and authentic Japanese ramen. When I saw the photos, I thought the noodle was instant noodle, but I was definitely wrong. The noodle was the most authentic ramen noodle I had in the greater Victoria, and the firmness was perfect. Also there soup base, such a creamy and rich pork soup but with the decorations of crispy onions and crispy garlic and a hint of sourness from other ingredients or spices, it was not heavy at all. And you can make it a combo with fried chicken and salad for only 3.5 bucks extra, such a good deal! I will definitely come back and try more.

Cute little place with delicious ramen. Good selection of options for style, taste, spiciness, broth, and all that other good stuff. Staff was really helpful with explaining your order so you got what you wanted depending on your preferences. That's a bonus for someone who doesn't eat ramen too much. Plenty of noodles too so don't order extra noodles unless you really want to eat a pound of noodles. NOODLES. Might want to book ahead because it's a small seating area and apparently very popular.

Excellent all around. Great atmosphere, great staff. Ramen is superior to everywhere else in Victoria. Serving size is insane. It’s really, really good.

This place was amazing! Went here two times over my weekend stay here and the Spicy Shoyou with chicken broth was amazing both times. First time I ordered with tofu and the second time I ordered with pork. I liked the pork better than the tofu. Staff was lovely, service was quick and portions were huge. Highly recommend!

Okay, please stop commenting on the “authenticity” of ramen. Ramen is a relatively new form of food incorporated into Japanese cuisine so there’s bit of a wiggling room too it, and if you go to Japan each ramen shop would be doing something of their own. It’s unfair for the restaurant to get a 2 or 1 star review just because it’s different from that one bowl of noodles you had in Japan or New York or wherever. As for the food here, ramen’s perfectly reasonable, nice mouth feel (NOT undercooked) and the soup compliments the noodles well. I see that they’re going for a ‘lighter’ interpretation of ramen, and I’m perfectly alright with it. Also had bbq donburi on the side, which was delicious and the rice was very well cooked - they probably rinsed the heck out of the rice before cooking it. Is this the best bowl of ramen ever existed? Probably not. Is it a proper ramen experience, even if it’s different from some places I’ve been to? Absolutely yes. Take my money any time

Ordered shio ramen with pork broth and thick noodle. Soup was not as hot as supposed to be. Definitely the flavor reminds me of ramen in Japan though. At the same time I felt the soup was something missing because I like quite rich and salty flavor, I guess. Speaking of topping, cha-shu (pork) was amazing almost melting in my mouth. The egg was cooked perfectly. Wish I could get a couple more Nori (seaweeds sheet) and a couple more cha-shu in my ramen. Only a bottle of soy sauce as a condiment on the table. Wish there are some more options such as salt and pepper, chili oil (Ra-yu) on the table like ramen shops in Japan. Overall the ramen was good and I would like to try different flavor next time.

I ordered delivery from Menbow Ramen Bar through Skip The Dishes (which I fully recommend). The tuna tataki appy was practically an entire salad, tasty and worth the price. The ramen came in separate bowls to keep the ingredients fresh, not soggy. Though I chose the salt broth it wasn't too salty at all - it was delicious. The ramen came with many different ingredients in it and was hearty. If a to-go order is this good, I can only imagine how great it is when you dine in the restaurant.

I ordered the Spicy Pork and picked it up for take home. It came in two separate bowls to keep fresh. I really enjoyed it! The staff was very friendly and seem to take great pride in being an authentic Ramen bar using recipes from Japan without MSG. Stop by and give it a try!

Very authentic Japanese ramen. The broth is thick and flavourful (pork and chicken). The ajitsuke tamago (soft boild marinated egg) is spot on! The charsiu (pork) is pretty close to Japan as well. Thank you for choosing Victoria to open your business. I will definitely be back.

I really enjoyed the noodles was cooked well and not soggy like over cooked noodles. The soup was great not too salty a nice balance and very filling. Will be going back.

Awesome! We went here while visiting from Ontario..asked a local where to get really great Ramen and was sent here! So glad as it was fantastic!

A sore throat, congested upper respiratory tract, and an empty fridge after recent travel drove me to seek out soup. Not feeling like pho today, I stopped in at Menbow Ramen bar. Simple stuff prepared well with very polite staff. I will be back. My only complaint is music.

Got the soya flavored pork broth ramen and you can definitely tell the soup broth is quality made...rich and flavorful! Surprisingly it fills you up pretty good!
