We arrived a little early for the 5pm dinner service so we had a little wait.  The service was good for AYCE and the food was good as well.  The food came quickly and the portions were an appropriate size.  The sake sashimi and nigiri were both sockeye which looks very different from the atlantic we are used to but generally tastes the same raw.  The teriyaki and the udon were both good.  The gyoza could have been improved.  Generally a good experience and they seem to do ACYE all year round here (other restraunts told us AYCE only in the off season).

Not the best but good value for all you can eat. Sad to say I do not go to this restaurant expecting good service or top notch food. However, I have a huge appetite, and I get my money worth for all-you-can-eat. When it's busy (like Friday night), the quality of food definitely goes down (like half frozen/cold gyoza). But most of the time, for what you pay, you get decent quality food here. I love sashimi, and it can be quite expensive if I order normally, so I like this restaurant's all you can eat to satisfy my sashimi craving.

I go here every single time I'm in Victoria. The service is always great, I've never had a bad experience in that aspect. I loooove the tuna sashimi, Mexican roll, and sushi pizza! I've only had one 'bad' food experience where my tuna sashimi was like, still frozen. I couldn't eat it but my boyfriend still liked it lol. Other than that, the food has always been really really good! I don't know why people are saying the service is so bad cause I've probably even here 15 times and those were my only complaints. So thanks Shiki staff for being awesome (:

It's not Richmond, but not bad for Victoria. If you want AYCE, you need to be more patient than in lower mainland restaurants. The food was good. We received everything we ordered. Probably will go back but not when it's busy. They only had 1 waitress serving AYCE tables while the other 2 provided faster service for a la carte items. Looked like bento boxes were popular. Try it when you have time to relax.

My absolute favorite sushi restaurant in Victoria. The fish is fresh, the rice sauce is delicious, everything is good. Though the wait staff could be a bit more timely, the food itself is worth it. I have been here multiple times, and when ever I get a sushi craving, Shiki is where I go. The decor is beautiful and the atmosphere is great. Definitely getting the love boat for two next time!

A safe choice. It has a great atmosphere, and is consistent. Every time I went, I always had good service, good food, at a reasonable price. I would recommend.

Sushi Pizza!. I never used to like this restaurant even at its old location on Fort Street, but it has grown on me lately. I now will go out of my way for the sushi pizza which is really delicious. Some of their other sushi seem a little too factory, but are acceptable. Lately they have an all-you-can eat menu, which includes many of their regular menu items including sushi pizza, and is a good way to sample things you might never otherwise try.

When the establishment is less busy if not quiet, esp on a Sun night, the dishes come out faster and are far more tastier. The octopus didn't seem to come out right tho'.

Top 5 place to have Sushi in Victoria. A must try. They have got excellent sushi, and fresh.

I live downtown, and have options, and this is my go to Sushi place hands down.

A must try.

Went here tonight for a birthday dinner and had a great experience. The quality of the food was really good (had a mixture of rolls, sashimi, tempura) and it was all good. The service was very prompt and friendly. I've read some of the other mixed reviews on here and wonder if this restaurant perhaps read them too, took the comments to heart and made the necessary changes. Either way I had a great experience and will definitely go back.

Good sushi. Good service. This was our first sushi experience on the island and trusting our friends to choose a spot was the right thing to do.
From maki to nigiri and tempura to sunomono all of what we ordered was very good quality and well made. The uni was the first I'd dared to try in North America for many years after a string of bad experiences and it was actually good.
The service was exactly what we would have wanted and the staff attended to our needs in a friendly and efficient manner without being always in our face.
I'd recommend Shiki to anyone visiting Victoria who wants good food and service as part of their sushi experience.

Sushilicious. Shiki sushi completes our cravings, the menu was remarkable with lots of choices. Great ambiance, very clean and fill with modern and contemporary decor. There's booths, table and bar seating. It is reasonably-price with excellent service. It's not an authentic Japanese-style restaurant but we simply loved it. It is very comfortable to eat there. It's a great place to bring your out-of town guests if japanese cuisine is on their itinerary.

Satisfying Shiki Sushi. Shiki Sushi was a last minuite decision to go to for lunch as some of our friends on Vancover Island wanted to go for sushi. all in all the sushi was quite good. The fish was very fresh and the rolls were very neatly done (and tasty). The wait staff was friendly and helpful but not very attentive once the resturant got busy. I think the only dissapointing dish that we ordered would have been the assorted tempura as it was over fried and the breading was not as light and crispy as I would have hoped.

Good place for udon. Shiki Sushi serves up excellent japanese food at an extremely reasonable price. Their Kitsune udon, which is the fried bean curd and it was delicious. The bean curd has a slightly sweet taste (the same that is usually used for inari). The broth is awesome and not greasy or salty at all. They are vegetarian friendly - the waitress came back to see if I was a vegetarian after I had ordered a tofu dish - which I can appreciate (as an ex-vegetarian).

The service was super friendly and the place is very popular. They mentioned that they are moving over onto Blanshard and Fort to a bigger location.

Shiki is located downtown, not too far from the Bay Centre, and really close to our hotel at the Quality Inn. As my companion was not in the mood for “ANOTHER!” sushi dinner, we opted for separate take-out – she picked up a sandwich at the Bay Centre, while I picked up sushi and sashimi at Shiki. Inside Shiki Sushi in Victoria, BC The interior is modern and interesting (with lights that changed colour, reminding me of a sushi place I visited in Toronto), and although it was busy, people were seated quickly – my take-out order was also taken quickly, though it probably took 30 minutes or so to fulfill. Still, while I waited the server brought me a glass of water. Roll from Shiki Sushi in Victoria, BC I ordered a mango roll (tasted great, with a lovely tangy flavour to the mango complementing the cra

Shiki Sushi puts a modern spin on your typical Japanese restaurant, both in the decor and the creative rolls the chefs concoct.

Maybe on our next trip I'll seat myself at the bar and just devour whatever sushi the chefs can make. My miso based ramen was adequate but it lacked any real flavour. Perhaps if they used some more green onion I would think of it better. But I will agree the sushi was delicious and was the highlight of the visit. Even my dessert couldn't match the taste.

I confess to being a bit of a sushi snob. It's not a disposition I intentionally set out to adopt. In fact, it was quite accidental. But I'm stuck with it, and there's little I can do about it. You see, about a decade ago, I went off to Japan, not to expl

Both of these rolls had liberal amounts of roe on them, enough that I could lick some of it off and get a nice bit in my mouth. I love the little bursts when bitting into roe.

All you can eat sushi for $40 dollars. A great place to try out lots of different items for one price. The restaurant is quite dark inside and has a feeling that they want to be romantic and cool at the same time but fall short. The service was very polite, but there was quite the wait time after they gave us our food to order a second round. The oyster was delish and I would recommend it as they are pretty big, buttery goodness. They do limit it for 2 per person but it was filling and satisfying. The sashimi that they offer is unlimited, but after eating it... decent? tasted half fresh? But on the other side, with the teriyaki, noodles, deep fried, and rolls were fabulous. The crisp on the tonkasu was light, flavorful, and a nice meaty inside. If the price was a bit lower, I would come back again just for those oysters and fried food 😋

We went for all you can eat. Sushi they did their best at accommodating celiac and dairy allergy. However, most of the menu does have gluten in it, but they do have gluten-free soy sauce and they did accommodate some of the stuff that we couldn't have which was awesome. Service took a little while to get going but once we got our food they were really on point. The woman did get mad at one of our guests for not tipping which I found quite rude. I can understand tipping is huge but sometimes people can't afford to tip and eat out. Two out of our four guests were able to tip, however, I don't believe a business should be chastising people when they can't.

We enjoyed this place , its the only ALL YOU CAN EAT in downtown Victoria . The quality here is more homemade style then shabusen in vancouver city . Lots of places to sit around the chairs are more wood chairs and some have cushions. They also got booths here . And sushi bar for seating and window tables . There is not much staff here so be patient . The restaurant location is in a bit of a low end area of downtown Victoria that kinda reminds me of mt pleasant /east van type in Vancouver city . FYI This restaurant also has a senior rate for buffet . We were happy with our dinner here we ordered the ALL YOU CAN EAT . I added the menu pictures to this post aswell including the drink menu. They got a very cutttteee fish tank . Its walkable to get here if your in a hotel nearby took us around a easy ten minutes to walk here .

I felt this place's menu was much closer to japanese cuisine, loved it, they have a la cart service and an all you can eat option for 40 cad where you order by serving and it's prepared at the moment, not buffet style, portions are good enough for you to try a bit of everything and share. Be careful when ordering cuz if you order too much, they charge you for the left overs. Taste is great, portions are good and service was excellent, nice drink menu as well. I'd go back every week to get my money worth of japanese food. They have sashimi, Nigri, maki, tepanyiaki, fried and grill seafood and snacks, noodles, great variety. Our server Cameron was awesome!

Pretty large selection of items for the pricing; moderately priced compared to similar ayce in Vancouver (usually $45+), especially considering the location of this restaurant. You do get what you pay for though; while food quality is decent, obviously don’t expect high end grade sashimi. I recommend getting sashimi over nigiri sushi’ though, since the rice is dry and/or undercooked. Rice fills you up unnecessarily too, so might as well save the space for some other items. Oyster motoyaki is a must try, but it was a little on the salty side. Grilled saba (mackerel) is another highlight. Waitresses are actually fairly attentive for an ayce place—frequently refilled water and asked if I needed to order more items without needing to flag them down. Overall would recommend if you’re looking to satisfy your sashimi/sushi cravings without breaking the bank.

The food was excellent, and presentation was lovely, however the service left a little to be desired. Granted, this was new years eve. However, the question "how long does it take to cook raw fish?" Would be an accurate sentiment to the speed in which we were served. It shouldn't take two hours for a meal at a sushi place. But since it was so good I feel alright giving four stars.

The waitress was amazing. We got to the restaurant 30 min before all you could eat was over , which she alerted us of. Recommended that we order everything right away and she brought it quickly. The food was good but the portions are small so it's hard to know how many plates to order. If you don't order enough the first time, you have a very long wait for more. When the place is full. Which it wasn't this visit so it was not an issue.

This was an excellent opportunity to sample Shiki Sushi's all-you-can-eat menu and try all sorts of new fare. My favourite was the sushi pizza, but everything we sampled was prepared with excellence and tasted wonderful. At $40 per person it would seem overly expensive, but when you consider how much we consumed, and how broad our menu was, it was really good value. Great work by the staff preparing our food, service was good and the people working there are friendly and helpful.

I really enjoyed the sushi roll and takoyaki. The salmon sashimi pieces were fresh, and cool (really important). However there was lack of bonito flakes ( katsuobushi, idk but i searched on the internet). Also, there are lots of tables for 4, even for a party (group of 8+).

All you can eat Japanese food. Food is pretty good for an all you can eat place and the food is made to order. Last call for food is at 9pm so make sure to give your self time.
