I came here with my family and didn’t have high hope because it looked so small. But the prices and food were very good. Additionally, very big proportions! The staff were very kind and waiting patiently when we couldn’t make up our mind. 100% will go again!
All the fish is incredibly fresh, they do an especially good yam roll and everything seems very balanced. Salmon and tuna were excellent, unagi was strangely the best I think I've ever had. Great little gem, they seem to take care to make everything flavorful and tasty. Second trip here, will definitely be coming back!
This Sushi Field use to serve excellent food. Their Japanese food was one of the finest in Victoria.The last several times ordering food, I and others have been extremely disappointed. For example, each time ordering prawn tempera, has been greasy and each piece is skinny with little prawn. At least when the cook put more batter on the prawn, it presentation appeared more eatable.I seldom gives comments, but the quality of food is so poor these days, I decided to write a review. It seems to me that when the owner was present or cooking, Sushi Fields food was like fine dining. So disappointed these days. One comment I will make is dinner/lunch inside Sush Field is much better.
A Pleasant Surprise
After my lunch experience at the Admiral Rd location I did not expect such a satisfying quality of sashimi in the chirashi don.
The salmon had a great texture. Their portion of tuna was very generous, in part because I didn't want tako. Tomago was very juicy and flavour was appropriate. The lemon was not needed. I associate lemon as a foreign way to mask "fishiness." Their fish was not fishy so the lemons were for my water.
I found it unconventional that there was salad mix between the rice and sashimi but it worked well with the tuna.
Oh and the rice was right on point.
So I encourage people to come and try out Sushi Field. Maybe get some take out and head to the beach. Sushi by the beach is a uniquely authentic experience.
Come here for lunch from time to time. Affordable and some of the best beef teriyaki I've had in town.
Was sat down, ordered and had food in front of us in 15 minutes.
We got Beef Teriyaki Combo , Takoyaki, Shrimp Sunomono, and more.

Always great food and they are so quick with making it! My favourite is the monkey brain (deep fried avocado stuffed with sushi fish). I also ordered a salmon avocado roll and was really happy with the portions of salmon and the quality. Super delicious. Friendly staff as well.
Great place for take out and dine-in. The lunch combos are well-priced and we have never disappointed when ordering from Sushi Field. Convenient location to grab lunch and head down to the beach!
It's a good spot. Food was great, I really enjoyed the sashimi. Miso soup could've been a bit saltier, but that's personal preference. Portion size was good and I was full after my meal.

We love their Vegan Sushi 😋 and hope they continue to expand their vegan sushi options. Everyone who works here is super friendly and we love supporting their business. Pre covid when we dined-in, it was always a fun family experience and they are great with kids and families (ordering kids food and drink first, fast service for them, etc.). They have also been a favorite during Covid and a highlight during the week to ride our bike and go pick up some sushi lunch or dinner!
