I had a Spanish Gouda burger with fries, coleslaw & beer
Friend also had a burger with onion rings & beer
Both burgers were delicious and a generous size. Portion of fries was huge, barely finished my meal. Onion rings and the dip was delicious great batter.
If your gonna come here come hungry! Great small environment (we sat at the bar which was fine). I wouldn't take any more then 3 people at once since it's a fairly small place.
Can never go wrong. All the food is amazing. The place is as small as people say. Expect a wait if u want to sit down. It is the best little hole in the wall and the burgers are amazing. I recommend the bison burger.
Best place for a burger in Hamilton. Worth the trip up the QEW. Burger was fresh and delicious, as were the sweet potato fries, and the available choices to "build your own burger" will satisfy even then most finicky diner.
Pretty much the best burger I have ever eaten!! Also, I loved the 1L of Steam Whistle in a jug for $14.95
Came to Hamilton for a ball tournament and ate at Chucks Saturday. Absolutely loved the environment, service and the FOOD! After our games Sunday.. We ate at Chucks again! Burgers are INSANE! Poutine is unreal! Onion rings are to die for. Can't wait to come back!
Absolutely loved my burger and have been thinking about going back for almost 6 months... Its time.
Really good burgers. Place was packed when we arrived but got a seat quite quickly. Was bummed that the bison burger was unavailable but the venison was a very good alternative. My daughter had the angus burger and it was quite tasty.
The panko crusted onion rings were very good as were the fries.
Service was very good. Fast and courteous despite being very busy.
We will be back next time we are looking for a bite in Hamilton.
Went here for the first time and really enjoyed myself! Rustic pub feel. Liked the music playlist they had on! The burgers were delicious! They had lots of unique burgers with the option to customize an entire burger. Service was also great and quick which is always nice!
Cool place! Great people, great food and beer! Definitely check this place out! The Turkey Wings are outstanding!! The candied bacon is to die for!! GET IT!
Returned for a second visit during our 3 day Victoria trip. Today we tried the Bison burger and the Smokey Haze Blue Burger with salads as our sides. Very fresh greens & great salad dressings (Balsamic and Caesar) Excellent!
Really really good, food. We had the Fancy Schmancy Cheese bison burger, pulled pork pouting and Greek salad. Greek salad came with really fresh goat cheese fantastic olives (pits in so watch your teeth). The burger with 3 cheeses, fancy Dijon mustard and bison ground, so Good. The pulled pork poutine also really a step above best pulled pork in town.
Further the staff where curious and friendly. Overall really impressed.
I can honestly say this is the best burger joint I have ever been to, I loved the 24oz chuck sized beer, the wings where huge and some of the best tasting wings I have ever had. The burger though was outstanding I got the 3 little pigs burger and it was spectacular the fries too where great. Overall great atmosphere and just a great experience in general, I would return to Victoria solely to eat here.
First time going to chucks burger with my hubby at 9 months pregnant, I had such a good time and will definately be coming back. We each got a burger, him with a caesar and I with a side of poutine and we got onion rings as a starter. It was sooooooo delicious. Everything came out hot and fresh and amazing. The flavors were great. Prices are fair for food portions. Definately will be returning. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive despite the restaurant being full. She was always making sure we were ok. Very pleased with food and service.
Great joint! The vege and turkey double burgers were fantastic, along with sweet potato fries and the beet candied peacan salad married with excellent customer service. Only downside is the wait time for seating which is expected on a Friday night but it is worth the wait. Highly reccomend....will return!

My wife and I have been to the Sidney location in the past and we rather enjoyed ourselves with the atmosphere and mouth watering food. We were very excited when we heard that there would be a downtown location in Victoria. I love their burger selection with the build-your-own option. I also adore their huge beer mugs to accommodate their great selection. The service was really great and I love what they’ve done to the inside!
Two small criticisms:
The pulled pork and the beef brisket poutine, was a little underwhelming in terms of quality. Other than the amazing fries, cheese curds, tasty gravy and BBQ sauce, the meat for both dishes had a boring texture and lacks depth of flavour, which is why I usually order them in the first place. It all seemed just a little too uniform, which reminded me of canned meat, which I’m sure it wasn’t!
Secondly, I get that Yates Street is a busy area, often littered with people who can’t hold their liquor, but when you hear one of the staff members yell from the front door that they need a bucket of hot water to wash away someone’s vomit from the front entrance just as you bring a fork full of beef brisket towards your mouth, let’s just say that it doesn’t do wonders for one’s appetite. I believe that it could’ve been handled a bit more discreetly.
I hope to return in the near future to try some more amazing menu item’s that you can’t get anywhere else. All the best to this new location!
Super good food! We for the 3 Little Pig Burger with Fries, huge 24oz beers for $9! and the 2 lbs of Korean BBQ chicken wings.
If you're in Downtown Victoria, I would highly recommend it!
The hamburgers were delicious, big selection of condiments and meats. The ground bacon patty was truly unique. Their poutine features perfectly crisp fries and fresh curds. Great beer selection, great service.
I’ve been in the other location and I wanted to go to the new downtown location as well.
One word... Amazing!
First of all, the service is great, too bad I can’t remember the waitress name but she was kind, helpful and took care of us even when the food took a bit longer to make. She always asked us if we need anything else and kept us updated with the order status.
The food is top notch, can’t complain and also the price is surprisingly low, just like the other location.
Will definitely come back!
