Review Artisan Cafe - Victoria

First time visiting Victoria, BC and looking for good local breakfast when we stump upon this cafe. We did not want to wait 1 hour to experience good local food. Artisan Cafe look modern and clean. My husband and I shared the a full butter chicken Benny, which was so good and new to our palate. Then, we completed our breakfast with some sweet berries crepes which was good. Our children shared the Traditional breakfast. The potatoes were done perfectly, tasted like fries. We would definitely come back here on our next visit to reorder their butter chicken egg benedicts.

We came in here cuz the blue fox beside was super long lined up. The tomato sauce is sweet and spicy. Very unique. The amount looks tiny at first glance. But we were both so full after a few bites. Good quality food and service. Worth a try here.

Speedy service to the point my order came to the table first even though my order came after those who were seated before me. I had the Artisan Benny and every ingredient was fresh and generous portion. The meal left my palate with a delicious buttery aftertaste that made me felt complete but not too full I couldn't crash into bed. A wonderous stop after my graveyard shift. Why line up waiting for competition that has poor seating and standard service when you can eat at a place that brings exemplary entrees in no time flat and get you going for the rest of the day? I was in and out of the joint in less than 15 minutes but left with a feeling I will definitely come back for more.

Had their Habanero Chicken burger and the food was normal. It wasn’t as spicy as I expected, I guess that’s why they gave us a bottle of Habanero sauce. The staff was attentive. The place wasn’t too crowded. It was conducive for conversations without being loud.

In town for one day visiting so decided to try this new cafe for a typical Canadian breakfast. The food was delicious and above expectations! Service was excellent but very slow due to being understaffed. The menu has a variety of unique dishes which was good to see but the drinks menu was standard with nothing that screamed out at me. I would easily come back. Lost one star on the understaffing and drinks menu :)

Best french toast ever!!! I ordered apple caramel cheesecake french toast and wowwwww so yummy! And the duck was amazing!

What a hidden gem! I didn’t want to queue for my brunch so popped into this cafe. Only open 4 weeks and I bet shortly I’ll have to be queuing here! Can’t rate the service highly enough, from delivering my eggs just as I like them to taking the time to sit and give me some directions and local recommendations. Yummy breakfast and the coffee really tasted artisan too! ;-) Good job guys

The wait to get food was pretty long but the food was worth it. The portions are a bit smaller than other brunch places which I personally prefer because it was just the right amount. Their specialty drinks are more reasonably priced than other places but I didn't have any so I can't speak for sizes and taste. Overall this will probably be my new go to until people realize it's there and the lineups start.

If you are on your way to the blue fox for brunch....don't pass by this place!!! Stop on your way there and you wont be disappointed!! Long line up where we were headed so we thought we'd come back and try this place. From the farm fresh eggs to the candied bacon and the duck breakfast dish to the homemade jam and ketchup, this place earns a 10 star!! Food was awesome....service was great. This place is a hidden gem and we're so glad we stopped by!!

The veggie hash is so very good! The asparagus was some of the best I’ve ever tasted! Being from Ontario, our asparagus season was over months ago. Super good service, reasonable prices and decent coffee. Love this spot for a quick and yummy breakfast!

First of all let me say that the fact that this cafe is right next to blue fox is a shame, because it truly deserves not to be overlooked. While I was there, the service was very prompt, the staff was very friendly, and I overall enjoyed the environment while I was there. Unfortunately, I do have to say that I was disappointed with the artisan burger I had. It was good, it was tasty, everything on the burger was delicious, but together it did feel too much. I put that mostly to the sauce, which was good, but very rich, so I found it hard to finish. Also, while I love me a sloppy burger or two, it did get to a point where I could only eat it with a fork and knife. It is possible I missed the point, and that this was the intention, but the burger itself tasted too premium to benefit from being sloppy. That ones more of a me criticism than anything else, and it wouldn't have been an issue at all had I not been distracted by the amount of sauce. Initially I had this at a 3, because there is no 3.5, but writing this it seems a bit silly to drop a restaurant a whole two points because the sauce on the burger wasn't my thing. Overall I'll definitely be going back to try their breakfast menu, as according to the other reviews that's where they shine, but I want to be clear that I'm not discouraging others from trying their lunches, my experience was just a bit weird.

Outstanding food and service. No wait time! The Duck Confit was incredible!

Tried this place for the first time. I was a little leery about paying $15 for a crepe but it turned out great. The portion size was very generous and delicious with lots of caramelized apples, sugar, cinnamon, and cheesecake filling. I had to pack it home. They had great artwork for sale decorating the walls and I could sit, relax, and enjoy my meal without the crazy line-ups at Blue Fox a couple doors down.

Just opened and 100% worth the visit. Everything is from scratch and you can tell. I wanted to take the jam and hot sauce home. The Artisan Benny was the best benny we have ever had. I wish I took a picture. We loved the espresso bar in house - the mocha was deeply chocolatey but not overly sweet. Atmosphere is soft and inviting, but a little cold. We popped in because the line at the Blue Fox was 50 people long I personally dont think we missed anything because we had such a great meal. Make a point to walk over here. You will not be disappointed.

We drove here with the intention of going to the Blue Fox Cafe, but the line there was terribly long, and we noticed we could get in right away to the Artisan Cafe, so we changed our minds and give this a try. We're glad we did, because their menu was great for us (we're traveling with three generations), and everyone found something they liked. I was especially happy the Crêpes Suzette. My wife enjoyed the Huevos Omelette and loved the jam. Good service. Clean Bathrooms. We're happy !

Exceptional food quality, with more variety and creativity than your average breakfast/brunch place. The pricing is pretty standard, but this would be my choice for the best breakfast in Victoria. I like the option of having crispy pork belly instead of bacon, and the portions are not disgustingly massive (which I find to be a common theme at diners). The Savory French Toast with Brie was recommended to my girlfriend. I had a few bites and I regretted not also ordering it. Definitely give it a try, it is usually less busy than the Blue Fox (a few doors away). Also - top notch coffee selection.

Came for breakfast because the place we had planned to go had a long line up. Lots of seating and a diverse and interesting menu. I order an omelette, that came with roasted potatoes and toast. Wow! More than enough to eat great flavours and beautiful presentation. Service was friendly and appropriately attentive.

My husband and I walked from our hotel to the nearby Blue Fox Cafe to get brunch before we head for the ferry back to WA. Didn’t expect the huge line at Blue Fox, THANKFULLY we found this place and WOW we were blown away. Definitely skip the other place and try this out. Amazing!!! food, wonderful attentive and helpful service, beautifully designed space, comfortable and not too loud with nice music and artwork. We got our food very quickly and now able to head out and get more activities in before we leave. We’re sad we have to leave today and can’t visit again to try more. Will definitely be back the next time we visit!
