This place is a cute, quiet bakery with good prices and good food. Potatoes were well cooked. The omelet texture was different than I'm used to (could be a Canadian omelet vs. US cooking difference, I suppose), but tasted fresh. Croissant was yummy!!! I also loved the music in the background. Cute place that I will likely be back to again next time I'm in Victoria!
The good thing about this place is that it has a huge cake selection and is open until 11pm. They have lots of seating and the restaurant is quite open which makes it a nice place to sit in the summer. The cake was just ok, it didn't taste really amazing, but the portions were HUGE and we got extra whipped cream on it for no extra fee. I haven't tried the food here yet, but would like to try breakfast.
Big selection and nice cakes. They also have good hours. Seems to be the only place to get cake in Victoria after 4pm. The cakes aren't the best in Victoria, but they are good and come with lots of whip cream.
Yeah!. Love this place, great value, great selection and options. good honest food. weird tip jar though and nasty bathrooms that remind me of being held hostage in a basement in Beirut.
Cute!. I love this place! It's just good food, always get what you order, staff is always very friendly and nice, atmosphere is good for everything, cheers me up to go here.
They have THE BEST banana cream pie ever!! I can't wait to come back and have it again.
Yam fries and bacon cheeseburger were great!
Diner/Bakery. This place is somewhere between a diner and a bakery. I ate here recently, and enjoyed my food. I had a deli sandwich and a slice of banana cream pie. My sandwich was really nice. It had lots of fresh fillings and the bread was really good. The banana cream pie was alright- the bananas were black, but it tasted pretty good. It was a nice giant slice. I will have to come back to try one of the other delicious looking baked goods in their case.
Great Food!. I've never had a bad experience there, amazing food at a good price
Great place, there is so much to choose from you will always find something you want to eat.
Good No Frills Diner. I like this place for a quick work day lunch. It's basic diner food with a fairly large selection of desserts. Yeah, it can be cold inside, but it's reliable and extremely convenient.
I go here after having bad resteraunt experiences to clear my head. My ultimate comfort place and easily my favorite place to eat in Victoria.
Amazing for a late night slice of cheesecake... Mmm rootbeer
Breakfast is good
And good prices to
Will go back for breakfast
More coffee shops should be like this. It's not slick or fancy (the building used to be a gas station), it's comfortable, friendly, and relaxing. Plus they have a great selection of food. We haven't had a dessert we didn't like. And most importantly, the coffee is good. Plus it's nice and warm there in the winter.
Coconut Cream Pie. My favorite place to go for dessert, especially the coconut cream pie, which is the best I ever had.
Plus, they have a coupon in the Entertainment Book.
QV's is Great. You have to try the apple pie heated with ice cream -- YUM!
QV's is a great little cafe. They are open late (not 24 hours) and the staff is friendly. The atmosphere is very casual and relaxing and the food, particularly the baked goods are simply AMAZING.
At this point, only 69% of people have voted that they "like" QV's and I find that astonishing. This is my favorite cafe in Victoria and my favorite dessert spot.
Not bad at all. Just had a milkshake there, was great. The atmosphere however, is not. Kinda cold feeling. I will be back for milkshakes though.
Great for a quick well priced lunch or for a sit down with some friends. Can sit outside in the summer which is nice. The food for the most part is prepared and you pick and then they warm it up, not all though. Recommend checking it out.
QV's is probably my favorite hangout in Victoria, as little as I get out these days. Great staff, great food (I recommend their breakfasts and the homestyle cheeseburger with yam fries), not so great location but it's worth it. Sitting outside with a milkshake is a great way to spend a Summer day. Contrary to popular belief, they aren't open 24 hours. Back before the new owners took over they were, not anymore despite what you might read in outdated travel books.
Oh, and they have the best juke box on the Island.
QV's yam fries are the epitome of deliciousness, and in the times I've popped in here, the quality of these fries have always been consistently excellent. The aioli dip just makes them taste divine. I've never had a bad yam during the times I've visited this diner. In my career as a french fry enthusiast, I've sampled a lot. I've hit a lot of places looking for the ultimate fry, and so far, have to rate Barb & Ed's as number one, QV's yams' number two and I've yet to find a number three. When that happens, I'll let you know. But there's more to QV's than just their fries. They serve up some premade packaged food for diners on the go, but when one can sit down for a spell I was charmed by their bacon and cheese hamburger. The thick layer of melted cheddar on top of the bacon made for a nice chewy beef patty. It wasn't too moist, and the fluffy bun helped soak up anything that wo
Customer service here was excellent but there was only one staff member up front to help serve everybody that was coming in. The desserts were excellent and well displayed. They were so massive that there was enough to take home to have for the next day. This place was well worth going to. I did not eat any other food except the dessert here, but I did see other dishes come out and they looked very delicious. The atmosphere was fun. Loved the front garage doors. Made it feel like you were sitting outside even though you were in. I will be returning here for sure but hopefully they can have a little bit more members of the staff up front to help serve customers.
I really enjoyed having breakfast here. With a nice view to the entrance at the China town. I ordered classic breakfast with medium Cappuccino ( it was pretty big). Amazing coffee, very kind and polite people and awesome flavor. From now and on one of my fav spots to have breakfast.
The cheese cake here is ridiculously good. We were passing by and decided to grab a cup of chai, so glad we stopped in. I ordered the mini egg cheese cake and my partner ordered the salted caramel. No complaints at all, what an amazing bakery in a coffee shop! Definitely worth a stop for a treat
Great Coffee ☕️ the Turtle cake was delicious 🤤. It was worth the walk and sore feet that evening. I will definitely be back.
Amazing ambiance! Right around the corner from China Town of Victoria. Sit at the patio and watch the amazing vibe of the city. The food tastes amazing too.
Great selection of cheesecakes! It's one of the cafes/bakeries that stays open later which is nice since so many cafes close early in Victoria.
I recently visited QV Bakery to order a cheesecake for my husband's birthday, and I just have to say - the experience was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I called to make the order, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and they helped me to choose the perfect cheesecake to suit my husband's tastes.
The cake itself was absolutely scrumptious - it was so creamy and rich, with a perfectly smooth texture and just the right amount of sweetness. The crust was also delicious, with a lovely crunch and a light, buttery flavor that complemented the cheesecake perfectly.
Overall, I was extremely impressed with the quality of the cheesecake and the level of care and attention that went into creating it. The team at QV Bakery clearly takes pride in their work, and it really shows in the finished product.
I would definitely recommend this bakery to anyone looking for delicious, high-quality baked goods - whether you're in the mood for a sweet treat like a cheesecake or something savory like a fresh-baked loaf of bread, you can't go wrong with QV Bakery. Thanks for making my husband's birthday so special!
Another one of our go to Becfest hoints/baked goods yummiest!! Been coming back here for years, especially when around Canada's oldest China town neighborhood. ♤ Ghosts n Snuff 👻.. highly recommend, good food/ friendly vibes. QV Bakery!!😇
Food is decent in home made style.
Grilled chicken burger was average, pickle fries and hot chocolate where good.
I felt that prices are bit high.
Had heard lot about cheesecakes her, but couldn't try as we were full with burger and fries.
Outside seating arrangement is good to hangout.
Limited free parking available besides Cafe.
I was recommended this bakery when my original place was too busy to take my order. When I asked for a "chocolate madness" for my son's 13th birthday they pulled through like no other bakery has in the past! This cake was beyond delicious and decadent! The icing wasn't overpowering sweetness and was a perfect compliment to the moist cake layers. Fantastic cake for a fantastic price! We will definitely be ordering all of our birthday cakes from here. The baker was patient (my mother had many questions and concerns) and very pleasant to order from, the front staff however have been 50/50 on attitude the couple of times I have been in since ordering the cake. Bit of a shame considering how delightful the food has been!
A true gem of downtown. Enjoy comfort food of all kinds or choose from many different dessert options eg: cakes, pies, cheesecakes. Have a peek inside and you'll have trouble not ordering something. A comfortable and quiet environment with kind service.
Cheesecake was the highlight of my year in terms of desserts. They have such a great selection of desserts and they are open later than most places! It's fun to go for dinner, walk around victoria, and end the night sharing a cheesecake or dessert square
Cute little place for some cheesecake and snacks. Cheesecake selection is vast and drink menu is decent. Plenty of seating either indoor or outdoor with good atmosphere.
Best cheesecake in town if you ask me :) my partner and I like to come here for a filling, well priced breakfast and coffee and top it off with a slice of one of their MANY cheesecakes. Last time I was here I counted 17 different flavours on display!!! All have been tasty that we've tried so far 😊
Solid 4.5 stars. This type of place is the best for group eating. Prepared meals means they may not be the freshest ever, but the variety available (and at really reasonable prices) made it easy to order for a crowd. Free jukebox is a fun perk. Food was all really good, but not exceptional.
Nice place with good options to sate your cheesecake cravings. And a nice view of Chinatown
